Dependent LOV not Working

Hi ,
iam creating a page where there is a dependent LOV's
DJLov,SEQLov are the Lovinput items
Djid is common field between the 2 Lov queries ,WipEntityid is formValue
when i click on second lov iam getting error as "You must enter a value for WipEntityId as criteria for LOV."
LOV1:
LovregionItem:Djnumber
Return Item:DJLov
Criteria Item:DJLov
LovregionItem:Djid
Return Item:WipEntityid
LOV2:
LovregionItem:OperSeqnum
Return Item:SEQLov
Criteria Item:SEQLov
LovregionItem:Djid_SeQ
Criteria Item:WipEntityid
Required: True
can anybody help me regarding this.
if the above data is not suffcient to understand the issue please ask me i will provide some more.
one more thing i want to mention is:
i took an advanced table ,then created columns and added LOv items to the columns. i got the error
"You must enter a value for WipEntityId as criteria for LOV."
but i created another page with tablelayout-->rowlayout-->cellformat-->lov input items
the same Lov mappings were done ,the page got saved without any issue.
can anybody figure out the what is the issue.
Thanks in Advance

Hi guys,
this issue is fixed.i created formvalues under advancedtable region and it worked.
dont keep formvalues to Pagelayout RN.

  • Dependent LOVs not populated properly

    Hi,
I have an issue regarding dependent LOVs in one of our pages.
    1. Child Lov is unable to fetch the results depending on Parent Lov value. Parent Value is not added to the where clause in the query while getting results for child lov.
This is happening only when the user enters some value like (%) in child text box and tab out.
    2. If the user directly clicks on child lookup and then enter some search criteria and Click Enter. It works as expected. In this case it is taking the parent lov value and giving the results properly.
I think we may be missing some property to be set in case1. If anyone aware of this issue please help me out with a solution.
It is related to banks and branches in banks... Due to this issue when I search for branches after selecting a bank.... all the branches are shown in the results.

  • LOVs not working in Webi Report for SAP BO 4.1 SP 2 Patch 3

    Hello ,
I have developed reports and universes in SAP BO 4.0 SP 5 and i have migrated those reports to higher version of BO which is 4.1 SP2 Patch 3.
My universe is working fine with LOVs but when i run the webi report , the LOVs arent working.
have anyone facing the same issue. any idea why the LOVs arent working on higher version.?

    Hi Victor,
The List of values we will assign in universe in order to get filtered data works on universe query panel
but the same objects when i am using in report(webi report) , the List of values are not working .i.e
they are not getting displayed in webi report.
for ex: i have country object having country names as LOVs and state objects having state names as LOVs . Now when i select Country value , the LOVs of state objects should get filtered and shows only states which belongs to country .
the above logic is not working in webi report , i am only able to select country and when i go for state, the state names do not get filtered.
please let me know why this is happening in the SP2 patch 3 version and its working fine for SP2  , but the chrome issue gets solved after applying patch 3 and not if we only upgrade to SP2.
the webi reports are not working in chrome browser if we using SAP B04.1 SP2 and lower version
but the LOVs are not working in SAP BO 4.1 SP 2 patch 1, 2,3.
kindly help me with the issue

  • Cascading LOV not working when the page is public

    Hi ,
I have a cascading LOV in a tabular form which I have built using Denes Kubicek example from
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=31517:176:2702932664861989:::::
Thanks to this wonderful examle I was able to make my cascading lov work.
However when I make the page public , the second lov(which is based on the first one) does not work.
Inorder to debug i changed get.get('XML') to get.get() and put an alert on it; to check if the select list string is being returned correctly by the application process - it returns null. The same alert returns the select list string when I put the authentication back on the page.
Also I noticed when the page is public the application item (TAB_CASCADING_ITEM) is not getting populated with the value of the first select list.
has anybody encountered the same issue ?
    Appreciate any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Dippy

One of the parameters in the htmldb_get is the page the process runs on. You should change that to the current page or make page 0 public as well.

  • Search on Transient attribute LOV not working properly.

    Hi All,
I made LOV on a transient attribute of VO. While drag & drop it onto the page I selected the option: List of values-->ADF LOV Input.
In LOV search form there are 2 fields : org code & org name. Whenever we provide either/both of the search parameters. It works fine but as & when we click on SEARCH button without providing any search parameters(i.e. org code & org name both are blank) it makes subsequent search of LOV with either/both of the search parameters not working.
Please suggest any solution for the same.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Manu

I selected the VO attribute(while VO is opened) on which I want to create LOV. Added list of values for it with following details:
    Configuration tab :
List Data Source - same VO as VA
    List Attribute - org code
    UI hints :
Default list type : Input text with list of values
Display attributes : org code, org name
List search : All querable attributes
let me know if you need more details.

  • ADF dependent dropdown not working for me

    I used the following example
    [http://ranajitsahoo.blogspot.com/2008/05/how-to-implement-dependent-drop-down.html]
I can not get the dependent employee list to populate.
I tested my emplist object from the app module tester and the values were retrieved after I input my parameter for deptid
    This is what I verified:
    Departmentlist properties -- autosubmit = true, id=empdeptid
Emplist properties -- partial triggers = empdeptid
    Page Def properties:
    Bindings
    Execute with parameters was added
iterator is Emplistiterator bind value = bindings.EmployeesView1DepartmentId.inputValue
    Executables:
invoke action was created binded to executewithparms and placed before the emplist
refresh was set to render model
Can anyone see anything that i missed?

    Frank,
Thanks. I was able to find one of your blogs and get my drop down boxes working.
I'm not sure I totally understand this piece of code
    OperationBinding opBindingEmployeesLovIter = (OperationBinding) bc.get("ExecuteWithParams");
Can you tell me what it is doing??
    Thanks so much

  • Oracle ADF - LOV not working

    Hi All,
I created an LOV on an attribute in one of my View Objects. I can see and use the LOV when I run the oracle adf component browser, but when I apply the attribute to a jspx page the drop down is not appearing. I am just getting the first value in the list. I can see that the field is tied to the LOV in the model and I am using inputComboListOfValues as the control. I have done this loads of times before, but for whatever reason I cannot get this to work.
I don't understand what I am missing. What is strange is that when I drag the field over onto the page it even knows that it should be an LOV. I have compared it to other apps and the LOV in the page def and in the page source appear to be the same. When I run the app it just outputs on the page like it is a read-only input box?
    The inputComboListing on the page:
            <af:inputComboboxListOfValues id="emplidId"
                                          popupTitle="Search and Select: #{bindings.Emplid.hints.label}"
                                          value="#{bindings.Emplid.inputValue}"
                                          label="#{bindings.Emplid.hints.label}"
                                          model="#{bindings.Emplid.listOfValuesModel}"
                                          required="#{bindings.Emplid.hints.mandatory}"
                                          columns="#{bindings.Emplid.hints.displayWidth}"
                                          shortDesc="#{bindings.Emplid.hints.tooltip}">
              <f:validator binding="#{bindings.Emplid.validator}"/>
</af:inputComboboxListOfValues>What could be happening on the page that is not allowing the drop down to work? Works fine in the oracle adf component browser?
    Thanks,
    S

Basically when trying to download oracle 9i pesonal also have the same problem. The download speed can be up to 7-9 KBps. up to some extent I will be automatically reset by the server and we need to download again and reset and doenload and reset and download. :))))))

  • LOV not working in param form on web

I am using the following query to provide an lov on a param form which includes an "All" option:
    select adv_id,adv_nm from advertisers
    union
    select to_number(null),' All' from dual
    order by adv_nm
This works fine on client/server, but on the web, I only get the list of advertisers with no "All" selection.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    TIA

    Hi Aneesh,
We were able to solve this issue by changeing the preference of the mode. You need to disable the sound for the click action. I am not sure why it is happening -may be it is not able to find the sound file or so- but once you set it to "No Sound" the click action works fine and does not pause.

  • Display as text (based on LOV) not working

    hi --
I've not used this kind of item before, so there's probably some really simple thing I'm missing....
    Have the LOV:
    select objecttype_name display_value, objecttype_id return_value
    from hdb_objecttype_syn order by 1
Return value is going into page item :P3_objecttype_id (a popup LOV). Have another item, :P3_objecttype_name, which is a display as text (based on LOV) item. When/how is this item supposed to get populated? When I select a value from the LOV, I'd expect the text item to be set to the display value of the LOV, but it is always []. The source type of :P3_objecttype_name is Sql Query, and the query is:
    select objecttype_name from hdb_objecttype
    where objecttype_id = :P3_objecttype_id
Does the page have to be submitted before the display item is populated? Seems like that wouldn't be very helpful...
    Thanks,
    C

HI Varad -- I'm afraid I'm new enough to all this to not know how to implement either of your solutions... and that's after scanning the forum for additional info.
How do I get the page to submit? Is there any way to do this w/o forcing the user to explicitly press a button? (which would be way too much, as there are probably 10 LOVs on this page).
If I choose to use javascript, 1) on what item and under what attribute do I put the script (is it on the objecttype_name that needs to be populated?), and 2) where can I find an example of what this might look like? I'm not familiar w/ it at all.
My goal is ultimately to have an LOV that displays both the key value and the name (which I guess can be accomplished by concatenating those together in the LOV select statement), to return the name to the page, and then have the ID automatically filled in to match the key (the example I sent you is backwards, simply because I started building this page w/ only key values displayed, added the name as a test later.) And, I also want the user to be able to type in the ID (no LOV would be attached to it), and have the name automatically populated. I'm guess this could be accomplished in a way similar to having the name filled in after the value is chosen from the LOV... If I can just figure out how to do that!
    Thanks,
    Carol

  • "Create New BW Web Printing Controls Your Users Will Love" not working

    Hi
I tried to implement codes (http://www.bwexpertonline.com/downloads/fox04.doc)for BW Web Printing controls as instructed in the article(http://www.bwexpertonline.com/archive/Volume_02_(2004)/Issue_03_(March)/V2I3A4.cfm).
I got everything fine, EXCEPT I cannot seem to get the Z_PRINT_HTML_TEMPLATE to retain changed form value. And I cannot get print preview of all pages when I uncheck and click Enter button. The form just refreshes itself and brings back the default setting value.
Does anyone know why it is doing this? Thank you very much for any help in advance!

    Hi Rob,
We were able to successfully change the redirect by using the "How-to" guide and now have a change password option on the logon, but now our report is not executing.
Please note that the report that we are trying to access is not a BSP, but a standard BW query that was being executing through WAS.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

  • Composite with dependency not working after soa server restart

    Hello,
I have composite application that invokes another composite application. After deploying those work fine. But after restarting soa server the one having dependency does not work any more. To soa server log I get following:

So POProcessing does not work any more after server restart. validationForCC works fine also after server restart. Url http://...validationForCC/getStatusByCC?WSDL points to wsdl file and is visible by browser.
I use soa suite 11g patch set 2 (11.1.1.3) running on redhat enterprise linux 5.
Any idea what is the problem?
Is it somehow possible to configure which composites are started first during server startup?

Yes, I did that. I'm not all that happy about this as a solution either, but it's better than making multiple copies.
We have since found out that his is a known bug and that it is fixed in some, but not all, deployments.

Composites With WSDL Dependencies Fail To Deploy Following SOA Server Restart [ID 1272070.1]

Oracle SOA Platform - Version 11.1.1.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
    Symptoms
A SOA Project has an external reference to a Web Service or a reference to another Composite.
When the SOA Server is started, the Composite is trying to access the WSDL of it's referenced Web Service in order to load data structures. If SOA can not find the WSDL then the Composite fails to load/deploy.
Once this happens the Composite can not be started, or shutdown, from Enterprise Manager Fusion Middleware Control Application.

Finally, validate the HTTP proxy settings for the server.]
javax.wsdl.WSDLException: WSDLException: faultCode=INVALID_WSDL: Error reading import of oramds
    Cause
When SOA Server is restarting the Composite can not access the WSDL of it's referenced Web Service (it is not available).
In the first scenario there are two Composites on the same server: CompositeA and CompositeB.
In SOA Suite 11g there is no possibility to specify the load order for the composites. If CompositeA references CompositeB and if CompositeA is firstly loaded then it can not access the WSDL from CompositeB and the issue occurs.
In the second situation there is one Composite on the server (CompositeA) which references an external WebService (ExternalWS). If the ExternalWS is not available when the SOA Server is starting then this issue occurs.
    Solution
    Solution 1
Redeploy the affected Composite into the SOA Server.
You can do that but it is not advisable in a production environment and in a development environment it will take a lot of time to redeploy the composite manually
    Solution 2
Copy the abstract WSDL locally into the project.
This is documented in these articles in our Knowledge base:
    •     Document:1155033.1 Node Restart Cause Composites To Become Unavailable. Response: '503: Service Unavailable'
    •     Document:1151973.1 Boot Order Of The Composites Upon Soa Suite Restart
    Steps:
o     a. Copy and use the WSDL file in the Project
o     b. Edit the WebService Adapter
o     c. Change the "WSDL URL" to point to the WSDL copied into the project
    o     d. Redeploy the Project
o     e. Make this configuration with all the Projects that have a references with other Web Services
    Solution 3
Use shared artifacts in Metadata Service (MDS). A WSDL used by more than one composite is a shared artifact per definition. If the WSDL structure is changed (that is not happening frequently in a production environment), you will normally deploy a composite with a new version because overwriting it will break your production environment. Moreover, in a development environment you will need a proper process in place where different developers access the same artifacts within MDS. In addition, when you use external WSDLs (owned by third parties), you will have a proper process/agreement in place to be notified about modifications affecting your applications.
    1.     In order to use shared artifacts a MDS connection must be configured in jDeveloper:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/integration.1111/e10224/sca_lifecycle.htm#SOASE85488
    2.     Deploy the shared artifacts:
o     a. Create a JAR profile and include the artifacts to share
o     b. Create a SOA bundle that includes the JAR profile
o     c. Deploy the SOA bundle to the application server
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/integration.1111/e10224/sca_lifecycle.htm#SOASE85472
If the shared artifacts (WSDLs) needed are from other composites this step can be skipped
    3.     Create a new WebService
o     a. When completing the "WSDL URL" click on "Find existing WSDL's"
    o     b. Select "Resource Palette"
    o     c. Go to the SOA-MDS
o     d. Select a WSDL from a Composite or the one deployed at step 2.
    Known Restriction 1
The port and the location for the WSDL reference is not completed automatically by jDeveloper in the composite.xml file. This information must be inserted manually. In Bug:10287325 is raised this issue and it is available for SOA 11gPS2+.
    Known Restriction 2
Another issue regarding MDS caching is raised in Bug:10218147 - the MDS cache is not refreshed when an artifact is deployed or deleted.
In order to refresh this cache the server must be restarted. This Bug resolves the issue but in a production environment the server restart will be the preferred option. The reason for that is because in a production environment you never deploy single composites under the same version after artifacts (WSDLs) have been modified.
The fix for the Bug:10218147 can be an acceptable solution in development environment where redeployment would be quicker than restarting the server.
Bug:10218147 is available for SOA 11gPS2+.
To find out more information about how to use Shared Metadata check the following documentation:

    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/integration.1111/e10224/sca_lifecycle.htm#CACFEAJJ
    Solution 4
The last solution is to use an UDDI (Universal Description Discovery and Integration).
Oracle recommends Oracle Service Registry 11g (OSR). The advantage is that you can use OSR and SOA Suite in a Shared WebLogic Domain.

Customer has a project consists of two services for interaction with the
process and one reference to an external service.
On deployment of the process to an Enterprise Environment, the process works
as expected. However, upon a restart of the managed server, the process will
    then fail to deploy.
Workaround used is to redeploy the project again.

Abstract: WHEN SOA SERVER IS RESTARTED, SOME SOA COMPOSITES COULD NOT LOAD/BE DEPLOYED
    Detailed Problem Description
    ====================
When a SOA composite get dependencies with other SOA composites located on the same server, if the dependency is still not loaded, the SOA composite will not be loaded, and there is no possibilities for Entreprise Manager console to restart it (EM crash). The only way to make it working is to redeployed the SOA composite from jDeveloper that is not acceptable in a production environment.
The composite that has the issue cannot be start-up or shut-down, although the Enterprise Manager do not show any errors with it.

  • Dependant LOV is not working sometimes???

    Hi Everyone,
i have created one dependant LOV. Lov1(Dept) and Lov2(Eno).
When i select any dept from first LOV it will trigger one OnChange() Event and there i am taking the dept name passing to the Employee table to filter corresponding ENOs in Lov2.
It works sometimes fine but sometimes it shows blank records in Lov2 but in backed Lov2 is having records.
    what can be the issue?
    Thanks.

    Kumar,
mention your jdev version and teck stack always before asking any query.
what do you mean by 'sometimes' it is not working? in which case it's not working? when you are getting blank values in you dependent lov, have you checked that the query (for the dependent lov) is returning any record?

  • Dependent LOV works but Master LOV displays incorrectly

    Hi,
    I have a form with two Combo-boxes.
A Master Combo-box called category, and a Dependent Combo-box called Sub Category.
I have the bind variable set up correctly in the LOV, and the dependent Combo-box is tied to the Master Combo-box in my form.
The form updates properly when I select my 'Category' Combo-box displaying the 'Sub Category' Combo-box with good values.
The problem I've run into is that the 'Category' Combo-box does not display my originally selected item after the page refreshes.
    For example...
    My Category Combo-box contains...
    Item1
    Item2
    Item3
    Item4
    When I select Item3, my Sub-Category
    displays properly...
    Item3_Sub1
    Item3_Sub2
    Item3_Sub3
    etc.
...but the Category now displays Item1, and
    not the selected Item3.
My Portal Version is 3.0.9.8.0 on Linux
Has anyone seen this bug before?

I am having a simlar issue, but did not see any responses that fix the problem.
When I select my Master combo-box, the form refreshes, the dependent combo-box gets populated correctly, but the master combo box gets reset to the default (NULL) value.
The problem is that the resulting query does not work because it is based on the combination of Master and Detail values, where Master=NULL is not valid.
Does anyone know how to force the Master combo box to display the originally-selected value?
