Deploy EJB: IIOP &MTS needed?

Hi JDev Team!
Is it necessary to have an IIOP connection to the database if I4m not deploying my EJB in the d.b. but in my application server?
And, if so, the d.b. has to be configured in MTS mode?
Thanks for all.

Hello! I'm totally new in JDev3.2 and EJB, could send me a little example of EJBs in JDev3.2. I've been working, but there were errors that I don't understand.
Please!!

  • Fail to Deploy EJB to JServer in JDeveloper3.0

I had a trouble to deploy the EJBHotel example.
My env is Oracle8i in NT with JDeveloper3.0.
All IIOP & JDBC connection is fine. The user
    had JAVAUSERPRIV and even JAVASYSPRIV.
The test under Published JServer Objects
has Public Read, Write and Execute Permission.
However I got the following message when I
deploy from JDeveloper (both JDK1.2 and JDK1.1).
Can someone give me direction to figure out
    what privilege it needed?
    Thank you very much.

Does anybody knows what must be going wrong?
Can't I deploy EJB 1.1 jar directly on Weblogic 10.3.0.0 or I need to change or configure something before doing it?

Does the ejbCreate() method of the com.package.ejbimpl.RemoteServicesEjb class have an exception on it's throws clause that is not present on the ejbCreate() method of your home interface? If so, does the error go away if you add the exception to the home's ejbCreate() method? In general, you want checked exceptions in a throws clause to match between the interface declaration of the method and the implementation of the method on the bean class.

  • How to deploy ejb in an Enterprise Environment using the jbuilder plugin

    Hello:
I use Oracle9iAS Plug-in Release 2 (9.0.2) for Borland JBuilder 7 to deploy my ejb. But now, i would like to deploy my ejb to oc4j in an Enterprise Environment (not as standalone).
Does anybody know how can i do it? I noted that the plugin use admin.jar to deploy ejb, and I suppose it need to use dcmctl.
    Thank you
    Sergio

    Sergio,
The current release of Borland JBuilder only allows you to deploy to standalone OC4J. If you want to deploy to Oracle9iAS (Enterprise OC4J), please try Oracle9i JDeveloper 9.0.3:
    http://otn.oracle.com/software/products/jdev/content.html
JDeveloper 9.0.3 uses DCM to deploy to Oracle9iAS

  • Unable to deploy EJB application

Hi iam getting the following exception while deploying an EJB application in WebLogic 8.1

    at weblogic.ejb20.deployer.EJBDeployer.compileJar(EJBDeployer.java:763)
what might be the reason for this exception ????

This problem is caused by the way WebLogic calls javac to compile the generated classes for the EJBs deployment. This became a big problem for our project with 50 Entity EJBs 2.0 with CMP/CMR, about 15 EJB-QL statements, 3 MDB and 8 Session EJB. I think that these numbers are limits, so exceeding any of these numbers cause javac to exhaust the memory it allocates by default. Even the WebLogic 8.1.Server's administarion console allows you to supply additional parameters for RMI and EJB compilers, it does not allow to supply the -J-Xmx256M (or more) option needed to increase the memory javac allocates.
    Thus:
    1. In the active $JAVA_HOME/bin of the Server create the file:
    Windows:
    javac1.cmd Containing:
    javac -J-Xmx256M %*
    Linux:
    javac1.sh Containing:
    #!/bin/bash
    javac -J-Xmx256M $*
    make it "executable"
NOTE: startWeblogic script sets it own JAVA_HOME, so check it first.
    2. In the administraitve console of WebLogic 8.1 Server select the server in the left frame under the
<Domain> / Servers branch. In the right frame select the General tab.
    3. In the Java Compiler box change javac to javac1.cmd or javac1.sh respectively. No restart is needed.
    This solved our problem.
I could not find any solution published, hopefully this will help other colleagues.

    Hi Radhika,
I'm guessing (if it's not a typo) that you need to change your directory
name. You should create the following directory:
    employee\META-INF
    (Yes, case is important :-)
And you should use that directory, instead of "employee\meta-inf".
    Hope this helps you!
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

  • EJB client still need EJB stub when it's already compiled?

    Hi,
I know an EJB client needs stub of EJB components to compile itself. However, does an EJB client still need stub when it's executed?

    Hi,
I know an EJB client needs stub of EJB components to
compile itself. EJB components should not need access to any stubs at compile time. All they need is access to the API classes, e.g. javax.ejb.*. The need for RMI-IIOP stubs is a vendor-specific issue. Some J2EE implementations require them, some don't. E.g., in the J2EE SDK we don't generate static RMI-IIOP stubs so the developer doesn't have to know about them at all.
However, does an EJB client still
    need stub when it's executed?

  • New to EJB (Server Help Needed)

I am new to EJB and I'm learning through a few books and online tutorials. The only problem is that when I try to use them, I get errors. I've done some researching and I think it has to do with my server setup. Here is what I have running and successfully configured:
    Apache Web Server
    Tomcat Container
    Java 2 SDK 1.4.0_01
    Java XML Pack (Winter 2002)
I have Sun Studio 4 installed and I think that it installs J2EE but I'm not sure. Can someone help me understand where to go next? What do I have to install/configure to get the EJBs to work? Thanks, Jeremy

    Hello,
J2EE is roughly about two things: Web applications beeing build out of Servlets, Jsp and HTML pages and a server-side component modell to deploy business logic in EJBs.
Now for the Web part (generating dynamic HTML content etc.) you have what you need. Tomcat is doing just find. To deploy EJBs, you need an application server which has an EJB container. I don't know the Studio 4 but my understanding is that it is an IDE helping you to develop software, not an application server. You have to install such an appserver.
My recommendation: go and download BEAs Weblogic 7.0 (www.beasys.com).This is a commercial product but it comes with a 30 day trial license. BEA provides a rather good online docu. Play with this appserver and deploy some EJBs.
Alternatively there is also a free appserver: JBoss (www.jboss.org) but I have never used it. Yet, they have also online docu and forums to help you through.
    good luck,
