Deploy ejbs without using deployment tool in J2EE server

Hi,
IS there any way to deploy ejbs in J2EE without using the deployment tool? I am using the j2ee 1.2.1.
Thanks,
Nipa

When I was in my companies Java Boot Camp (6 week fulltime training in Java technologies) the class was split about 75/25 with 75% of the class using a deployment tool (I think it was WebGain). The other 25% did not use a deployment tool. I was one of the 25%.
What we did was write a Perl script that took care of all the necessary deployment steps. It has been awhile, and I no longer work for that company, but I'll try and dig up some of those scripts. (Can't promise I'll find them!)
BTW, the 25% group deployed more EJBs with less problems than those using the deployment tool...

  • Migrating Oracle forms to APEX 3.2 without using Forms2XML tool

    Can we migrate Oracle forms to APEX 3.2 without using Forms2XML tool?

    Hi Anoo,
    In order to convert Oracle Forms to Oracle Application Express, using the Forms Conversion utility in Oracle APEX 3.2, you are required to convert your Forms Module (FMB) files to XML format, using the Oracle Forms to XML conversion tool, Forms2XML. I would recommend that you review Chapter 4 [Converting an Oracle Forms Application|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14373_01/migrate.32/e13368/appmgr_forms.htm] , in the Oracle Application Express Migration Guide Release 3.2
    If you have any further questions relating to the Oracle Forms to Oracle Application Express conversions, I would recommend that you refer to the [Application Express|http://forums.oracle.com/forums/forum.jspa?forumID=137] forum.
    I hope this helps.

  • How to do Indepth table analysis without using any tool

    Is there anyway of indepth analysis of tables of a database without using any tool, i.e. by means of sql's, pl/sql's only.
    My database has around 800 main tables which have several other related relational tables(objects relating 2 tables on basis of OTO, OTM, MTO, MTM object relationship) and several dependent views(made from among the 800 base table only).
    Currently database is indexed, has joins and views, all in working scenario but yet do not gauranty consistent behaviour.
    My sole purpose is to analyse all main tables (around 800 of them) in my database by running scripts and prompt errors, warnings, exceptions wherever table needs indexing or change of joins(eg - from cross to inner,etc. ) or check inorder to avoid table full scan for related relational tables and dependent views.
    My databse is Oracle10g.
    Please do revert for any doubts.

    My sole purpose is to analyse all main tables (around 800 of them) in my database by running scripts and prompt errors, warnings, exceptions wherever table needs indexing or change of joins(eg - from cross to inner,etc. ) or check inorder to avoid table full scan for related relational tables and dependent views.There are no tools which can tell whether your table needs indexing or whether you need to change joins methods, by just looking at your database. At most, you can get an idea about the missing indexes in case of a parent-child relation. Everything else, falls under application tuning - which involves sql tracing, profiling etc.
    If you cannot trace individual sessions, then you are better off monitoring the database with statspack/AWR (if licensed). Generate reports at frequent intervals, look at the resource consuming SQLs and have a discussion with dev team to fix them, whenever possible.
    EM can also be used for SQL analysis.

  • Is there any blog or examples to handle the errors without using ESB tool kit.

    Hello,
    I have been trying to work with error handling since last week but I dont understand how to construct the error message. Is there any blog or examples to explain handle the errors step by step from scratch without using ESB tool kit.Can anybody help me out.
    Thanks in advance.

    You can use option 3 to construct the error message inside orchestration.
    Before using a BizTalk XML Message inside an orchestration, it must first be constructed. In fact this is just populating the message with XML. If there is an attempt to use this message before it is constructed, the above error will come. Some messages
    come pre-constructed, such as messages that originate from a send port
    There are several ways to construct a message inside an orchestration:
    Create a new message from an existing message using BizTalk map
    Assign one message to other(i.e. creating a copy of an existing message)
    Creating a message with the help of a System.XML.XMLDocument variable
    We have to first declare an orchestration variable of type XmlDocument. Then in a message assignment shape, we need to do something like this:
    myxmlDoc = new XmlDocument();
    myxmlDoc.LoadXML("<somexmlhere></somexmlhere>")
    myMsgBeingConstructed = myxmlDoc;

  • Deployment Tool Problem (J2EE -Composite primary Key Class)

    Hi !!
    e.g. I have an entiybean which has composite primary key class. So while deploying in J2EE tool u need to specify the Primary key class and the primary key field. well in case of a composite primary key class(if u have more than one field)...how do u declare all the fields for primary key class....
    if u r not getting me please tell me... See in J2EE deployment tool there is on section called Entity..in that see the Primary Key class (there u specify the Primary key class) and the Primary Key Field Name (the field name) Here u can just give only one Field name..if you have mulitple fields, then where you will specify... Please let me know..
    if anybody wants the code I will give the code...Please try to help..(how to deploy this kind of entity bean in J2EE deployment tool)
    -Bhumika

    Hi Bhumika,
    in case you have more than one field you need to write a Primary key class where the fields you want to be the key are member variables.
    your p.key class could look like this (it has to implement hash() and equals() ):
    public class PersonPK implements java.io.Serializable
    public int person_ID;
    public PersonPK()
    public PersonPK(int aPersonId)
    person_ID = aPersonId;
    public int hashCode()
    return person_ID;
    public boolean equals(Object ob)
    if (ob == this) return true;
    if (!(ob instanceof PersonPK)) return false;
    PersonPK other = (PersonPK) ob;
    if (person_ID != other.person_ID) return false;
    return true;
    -Hope this helps a bit,

  • Web Deploy Package : Create WebDeploy package without installing the web deploy tool on remote server.

    Hi,
    I didn't get any valid category for this item. Hence creating it under C#.
    I have two machines source machine, where the web deploy tool is installed and the target machine where the websites are hosted.
    I want to run the web deploy command in the source machine and it has to create the Web Deploy package for the website hosted on the Target server.
    Basically the Web deploy tool will NOT be installed on the destination server, but still i want to create packages from it. How this can be achieved?

  • Start deployed applications when J2EE Server starts

    Hi experts,
    This is my problem.
    I've updated my Netweaver 04s Developer Workplace from SPS1 to SPS10.
    The problem I have is that when I start my J2EE Server via MMC, the applications (j2ee,ear,webdynpro,...) I deployed don't start.
    If in my Visual Administrator I go to server->services->deploy most of them are not started. I can start them manually, but that's not a solution...
    I suppose there are any possibities to set this applications to start when the server is started.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks a lot.
    Alberto.

    Hi Alberto
    If you can start the services manually w/o problems, then maybe you can try to change the startup mode to 'always' so that the service is started automatically. You should be able to check this via Configtool. Switch to the 'configuration editor' mode and go to cluster_data -> server -> cfg -> services. Look for the service and make click on the propertysheet. Usually you can modify the startup mode there.
    I hope this helps.

  • How to deploy the EJB which used Japanese word on Weblogic server

    Hi All,
    I am running a test on WIN 2K pro Japanese system. When I deploy an ejb bean with

    I am thinking that the weblogic cann’t pass ejb-jar.xml which is encoding as UTF-8

    Weblogic to solve the problem or to encode the ejb-jar.xml differently?

  • Deinstall OCS without using Deconfig Tool

    Hi,
    I installed OCS Content Services on an Oracle Application Server.
    During the deinstallation of OCS, I missed out the deconfiguration step. (i.e. I didn't run the Perl interpreter on the ORACLE_HOME\bin\deconfig.pl script)
    Now the OCS Content Services is deinstalled successfully but the Instance can still be found in the Oracle Application Server Farm.
    I tried to run the deconfig tool but the script 'deconfig.pl' no longer exists.
    So how would I remove the instance now?
    Thanks for any help.

  • Error during DatabaseCopy using SAP tools for SQL Server (v7.12)

    I'm trying to perform a system copy from PRD to QAS.  The database has been mounted to QAS via detach and attach method.  I did a DBCC on the database and everything looks OK.  I'm running SAPINST (SAP Tools for MSSQL) and selecting the Database Copy option.  The source database has a schema of DBO.  Both PRD and QAS are running SAP 4.7/Basis 620.  The target schema is QAS.  SAPINST fails in step 2 (Define Params) with:
    "This service cannot be used for a system with SAP ABAP release 620"
    Is this message misleading?  Has anyone receive this message before.
    UPDATE:
    I donwloaded the latest version of SAP Tools for MSSQL and now it failes during the execution phase on step, "Convert DB objects to new schema".

  • Using Deployable Proxy in J2ee Server library

    Hallo experts,
    i want to use a deployable proxy in a j2eelibrary.
    In the j2eelibrary i have a plain java class, that consumes the deployable proxy.
    with a webdynpro i tested it and got a classaCastException
    in the java class (in j2eelibrary) where "ctx.lookup" is performed.
    any idea?
    when i test the deployable proxy directly from a webdynpro everything works fine.
    Thank You for help
    Michel

    no ideas?

  • EJB Deploy tool question

    Hi everybody,
    I have successfully build and deployed a simple Application using Sun's deploy tool and j2ee server. Now, I just simply want to use Weblogic6.1 to do the same thing for my Application.
    I uploaded the .ear Application file to Weblogic6.1 and try to deploy it, but failed many times. Am I doing something wrong here ? My question is, the .ear file I generated by using Sun's tool, can it simply just uploaded to Weblogic and deploy ?
    I know Weblogic has a different kind of process to build an application. But, an ear is an ear file. It should be the same for either app server such as Weblogic or Sun's j2ee, right? Correct me if I am wrong.
    Thanks in advance.
    Philip

    You should deploy your EJBs to the particular application server using the deployment tool that is particularly suited for that application server. Why? Although application servers have some things in common like the structure of the ejb-jar.xml file (which is part of the J2EE specification), some are application server specific implementation which varies from different application servers.
    You used the J2EE RI application server. That does not mean that the ear file you have generated from the deploytool is also the same ear file that WebLogic can fully understand.
    Try to deploy your EJB's using the deploy tool bundled with WebLogic.
    Hope this helps

    Okay, pls check that you are logged in as administrator and installed and now you are logged in as administrator and registering the iAS server. Did you get any installation failures while installing and are you able to register the server using iASAT ?
