Deploy J2SE 5U6 Downgrade over AD?

We need to deploy J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6 too approximately 100 computers on our network. We're adding a new time clock system that is currently only stable on this version.
We're able to Deploy the MSI file, turn off auto update, etc..
The problem is, many of our systems are running never versions, all the way up to 6u2.
Is there anyway to deploy an uninstall all other versions of JRE followed by the 5u6 installation?
Any suggestion on a work around?
Thanks

  • Deploy Trusted Cert with the deployment  J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0

    I want to deploy J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 2.msi using active directory. I have tested my deployment and all is good, now I want to know how to deploy a trusted cert with the the deployment of J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 2.msi. I am using active directory for the deployment. I do not know much about Java or cert, but want my users not to have to grant permission to the only cert we have on ouir web page the first time they hit the page.
    Is there a way to pre-answer the Grant always box for the cert we have. I hope I have asked the question correctly. Thank in advance.

    Can someone tell me how to use my own keystore for SSL auth, trust and

    Setting the system property in an applet won't auth and or trust SSL:
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStore", "file:/C:/temp/SSL_applet/client.com");
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword", "storepass");

    Googling for the combination of
    site:sun.com "deployment.system.security.trusted.certs" password
    will give me no results. Searching the entire web won't do much either.
    Anyway, assuming the password is changit will end up with an unpleasent
    surprise after installing a new version jre.
    Because SUN actually changed it in 1.5
    Anything short of the programmer loading a keystore when an applet is run
    will not work.
    This is not good enough, is there a way for administrators to use their own
    keystore and give it a password so a jre update won't screw up everything?

  • Distributed deployment migration to Clustering over the WAN

    Hello All,
    The existing deployment is distributed with different CM versions running on each of them i.e 6.1.3(2 Clusters), 7.1.5(1 Cluster) and 8.6(1Cluster). It has been requested to get these clusters migrated to version 10.x in either centralized or CoW deployment. However, some of the clusters have around 1700 and 2600 phones in the cluster and because of SRST gateway sizing limitation, we have to approach CoW deployment. We have CUCM, UCxn(new dep) and MediaSense(new dep) applications. There are currently around 8000 users registered to the CM but considering future expansion, it must be proposed for about 20K users. My questions are :
    1) With UCSS in place, how does the Migration work for different versions? I am not aware of the existing used and unused DLU's in 6.1.3 version and methinks it has to be taken into account to convert into type of Users for UCL.
    2) Without UCSS in place, how tricky does the migration become?
    2) There are 8 sites, with 5 sites having at least 2000 users. Considering future expansion for 20K users, how do we position the number of subscribers in each site for CoW deployment? I understand there are BHCA and bandwidth calculations involved, 1PuB, 1 SuB, 1 TFTP/MOH servr in DC, 1 SUB each in other sites and an additional TFTP server in one of the sites?
    Appreciate the help!
    Q

    Q,
    The first place to start is to look at the cucm 10.X SRND. Look in detail at capacity planning and call processing.
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/srnd/collab10/collab10/callpros.html
    Each cucm 10.X node can support a total of 10,000 users/devices using the 10,000 OVA template. The cluster can support a total of 40,000 users/devices. I am sure this will meet your present and future needs.
    Next you need to look at sizing. The cisco virtualization wiki details what to do in this case..
    http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Unified_Communications_in_a_Virtualized_Environment#How_to_Design
    Download the sizing tool from here
    http://tools.cisco.com/cucst/faces/landing.jsp
    Then use the placement tool to determine how you should place your VMs..
    You  may want to send your final output to Cisco to verify your design. Virtualization is not so straight forward as bare metal server deployments, so you need to design carefully.
    From what you have said, looking at about 20,000 users I would suggest the following
    1. 4 cucm subscribers--each deployed with 5,000 users/devices. This setup will allow for one to one backup
    2. 2 dedicated tftp/moh servers
    3. 1 publisher
    That gives you a total of 7 virtual machines. This means that you will need two UCS servers-C series servers
    Although the sizing tool suggested 12 VMs with six subscribers.. (this means that you will need three UCS servers-C series)
    For SRST, depending on how critical the phone system is you either do the ff
    1. Use the voice gateway at the site to support SRST. This obviously is limited to the capacity of the voice gateway at the site
    2. Re-use the existing cucm servers and deploy them at the local site just for SRST. This will ensure you can support the whole site in SRST
    It is advisable to place your UCS servers in your DC. If you have a single DC, then you place one there and then the other at another site (Hq)

  • Deploying SCCM 2012 Client over DirectAccess

    I have not been able to successfully deploy the SCCM 2012 client to any DirectAccess clients when they are not connected to the internal network.  I have migrated my collections from SCCM 2007 and all machines connected internally had no issues.  I
    have added the new SCCM server to the Infrastructure Servers configuration on the UAG and applied the Group Policy.  In the CCM logs, I am seeing "the device %computername% does not exist on the network" although I can ping them.  The client push

  • Starting an j2se 1.3 application over https with JWS 1.2

    Hi,
    How can you start an application which needs j2se 1.3* over https?
    I know, distributing signed Software over https isn't very useful, but it's the only way we can distribute it.
    I assume that JWS validates codebase and j2se version by it self so I can't use many workarounds.
    My jnlp file:
    <jnlp spec="1.0" codebase="https://server.company.com/apps" href="launch.jnlp">
         <information>
         <resources os="Windows">
              <j2se version="1.3*"/>
    The Error:
    BadFieldException[ The Field  <jnlp> has an invalid Value: https
    For HTTPS-Support is Java 1.4+ needed]

    Are there any workarounds? Perhaps:
    -     installing the Java Secure Socket Extension (JSSE) to the JRE 1.3.1
    o     http://java.sun.com/products/jsse/index-103.html
    o     described at http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?thread=199562&forum=38&message=1138437
    -     using an extension in the jnlp which first downloads the application code with j2se 1.4.1. And afterwards starts the application with j2se 1.3.1.
    -     or something else?
    Thanks for any comment
    Andrea

    Unfortunately no.
    Java 1.3 dosn't contain jsse extension, so you cannot download your program (using 1.3) with javawebstart. Https suport in java web start requires at least java 1.4.0

  • Deploying existing application (forms and reports) over the web

    Hi I do have the following environment:
    1) Oracle 8.1.6.0.0 on HP-UX.
    2) Application written using oracle forms6i and reports6i on NT (Client-Server environment)
    I am looking to deploy this existing application over the web using 9iAS, sure I don't want to rewrite my application. I did that in the past using OAS 4.0.8 and forms server and reports server.
    1)Does 9iAS support that, which one should I install the standard or the enterprise.
    2)Do I still need forms server and reports server.
    I stopped using the OAS because it had problems and the performance was not that good, I found CITRIX and Tarantella do better, performance wise.
    3)Does 9iAS has improved that.
    Any feedback regading these many questions is highly appreciated
    Thanks
    Khaled

    Sounds like the ideal 9i As environment (although you might want to consider either upgrading or patching the database - 8.1.6.0.0 does have patches)
    You'd be pleasantly surprised with the performance and stability improvements of 9iAS over OAS.
    Deploying reports & forms over the web (pure web access, not terminal services like citrix) require some form of web server, reports server and forms server. I believe that 9i AS is totally compatible with the reports and forms developed in 6i tools, so there should be no rewrite at all.
    If you have the time, strongly recommend you check it out.

  • Error while deploying MDM SCA files through SDM over portal

    Hi experts,
    We are trying to deploy MDM business package over CE server.
    In this we are able to deploy the MDM java apis MDMJAVAAPI06_3.sca but while deploying BPMDMTECHN06_4.sca and BPMDMAPPLI06_4.sca we are getting error that Error " AS JAVA is not running" restart and try we tried many times restarting the instance and deploying it again but every time we are getting the same error.
    Please check if the version of the SCA files we are using are correct.
    please help.
    regards
    Narendra

    Hi Narendra,
    If you are using the portal demo version then check the expiry date. Also try deploying any of the SCAs other than MDMJAVAAPI to confirm whether the error is due to SCA files or there is a problem with the portal server.
    If you get the same error then you should download the SCA files again from market place and try deploying them. Version doesn't play any role in case of deployment. But make sure it should be compatible with the MDM Server version.

  • Deployment problem and DOMUserDefRef.dll

    Hi,
    I'm having a problem with deployment. I took over a project from a co-worker. When we use the same build description, in his executable build the DLL  DOMUserDefRef.dll is included, but not in my builds.
    I detected this only when the end user (our customer) tried to run the program built by me, and it failed mysteriously. Of course, the built executables run just fine on my machine.
    It is perhaps worth noticing that on his machine, the preview includes the DLL and on mine of course not. The DLL is in my dependencies, though. But if I look at the file view, there is already a difference: on my machine the DLL is shown without a path, on his it has the path to the <run-time>\resources directory. I've checked that the DLL is NOT in the %PATH% on my machine.
    I can of course somehow add the DLL by hand to the build and distribute it, but I really want to understand what is happening here. Both computers used to build the executable are Windows 7 / 64 Bit with LabVIEW 2011 SP1f2 / 32 Bit, and I just cross-checked that the projects are identical by just copying it from his machine.
    Can anyone sched some light on what may be happening here?
    Thanks,

    There is only one App Builder.  If you are primarrilly working in a version that is not the latest installed on the machine its usually "Best Practice" to not install the later App Builder since you never know when those little details can rear up and bite you.
    To downgrade the app builder, uninstall the app builder only and reinstall from the older media.

  • Deploying iTunes in lab environments campuswide

    We are creating an iTunes U page for our institution (small college), but my question involves the deployment of iTunes across our campus. What is the best, most streamlined method for deploying and using iTunes over a campus network that has migrating user profiles?
    We have several lab environments in which students would access iTunes, and we want to minimize the issues involving storage limits with migrating profiles, when any particular user will login to access iTunes from any particular workstation. Specifically, what would be the profile ramifications from accessing the user agreement to syncing their devices? Furthermore, we are mostly a Windows-based campus, so we're looking for any additional caveats that might occur.
    Any thoughts, suggestions or references would be greatly appreciated.

  • J2SE XML to Flat File Content Conversion

    Hi
    I've currently got a scenario which sends a flat file to the integration server, it gets mapped and sent to a receiver adapter on a deployed j2se engine.
    I'm now trying to convert the xi-xml structured file to a flat file again on the j2se side (the same flat file format it originally had).
    My original flat file looks like this -
    477
    477=AA1
    My xml file looks like this -
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ns0:ResultMessage xmlns:ns0="urn:xxxx-com:a_test_j2se_filetofile">
    <Item>
              <field1>477</field1>
    </Item>
    <Item>
              <field1>477</field1>
              <field2>AA1</field2>
    </Item>
    </ns0:ResultMessage>
    I am using these content conversion parameters:
    xml.addHeaderLine=0
    xml.fieldSeparator==
    xml.endSeparator='nl'
    I get this error on the integration engine (sxmb_moni):
    Error while sending by HTTP (error code: 500, error text: Internal Server Error:java.lang.NullPointerException) (See attachment HTMLError for details)
    and the j2se adpater log says this:
    17:16:32 (4120): Message "13b9d644-54c9-4ffb-0c40-db4c14458d77" of type "application/xml", kind "B" received
    17:16:32 (4124): Parsing XML message
    17:16:32 (4131): ERROR: Message processing failed with "java.lang.NullPointerException"
    What am i missing?

    So, now... I did a test configuration in XI and sent your test-payload...it worked.
    The J2SE adapter configuration:
    File adapter java class
    classname=com.sap.aii.messaging.adapter.ModuleXMB2File
    version=30
    mode=XMB2FILEWITHCONVERSION
    #Adress for XMB endpoint -
    XI.httpPort=8111
    XI.httpService=/file/receiver
    #File Adapter specific parameters -
    file.createDir=1

    file.counterStep=1
    #File Content Conversion specific parameters -
    xml.addHeaderLine=0
    xml.fieldSeparator==
    xml.endSeparator='nl'
    And here the configuration of the receiver communication channel in the integration directory:
    Adapter Type: XI

    Transport-Protocol: HTTP 1.0
    Message-Protocol: XI 3.0
    Adapter-Engine: Integration Server

    Authentication Data
    Logon data for non-SAP systems
    User
    Password
    That's it... sent your payload and got the wished result:

    Not to forget, my javaclient has following lines too..

    Please let me know if I am missing any required step.. here
    Ask me if you want to know more details about my problem.
    This is very urgent and critical.. Many thanks in advance.

    Hi ejp,
    thanks for your reply. I did read your post in other thread that you pointed.
    I had searched quite a lot on this issue and had idea that it might be due to firewall settings..
    but sadly, I don't know the solution. Well, you have seen the entire code that I wrote and exception too, Could you suggest me a way out? or any specific firewall setting or a workaround?
    Please let me know if you need any other info from my side regarding the code.
    Thanks a Ton!

  • Facing issue while deployment on 11.1.1.6 soa server

    Problem Summary
    Facing issue while deployment on 11.1.1.6 soa server
    Problem Description
    We are facing issue while deploying a bpm project over a newly built bps-soa server 11.1.1.6.
    While we are deploying a bpm project, first it is taking around 40mins to create .jar file and then while deploying, it is getting failed with transaction timed out error.
    "composite: Onboarding: javax.ejb.EJBException: Transaction Rolledback.: weblogic.transaction.internal.TimedOutException: Transaction timed out after 301 second".
    we have tried with changing all transaction parameters also like JTA,XA( as similar to our exiting running QA/PROD environment which is on 11.1.1.5) but even then facing the same issue.
    The code were originally build over 11.1.1.5 version, for the first time opening with jdev, code gets migrated and over the upgraded code we did some business specific changes and now trying to deploy over the new server.
    Code is getting successfully compiled and also .jar file is creating properly but while deployment facing error(As shared earlier).
    Also tried to deploy the same .jar file using em consle(to soa-infra) but facing similar issue.

    2 things must be noticed:
    First: ODI 11g is not supported by JDK 7, I always use the JDK1.6.0_27 and works fine. When you try to open the ODI Studio, this message appears, telling that ODI is supported only with JDK 6 versions, so don't try to use JDK 7.
    Second: I always install the JDK in a path without spaces, like "C:\JDK1.6.0_27\" and the excatly same thing to odi install files. So I call via Command Prompt:
    C:\ODI_INSTALL\Disk1\setup.exe -jreLoc C:\JDK1.6.0_27\
    I did over 20 windows installations using these settings, it'll work perfectly.
    Regards.
