Deploy JClient application J2EE in OC4J

Hi.
I have a workspace with two projects, one is a Business components project and the other is a Jclient project that invoke the Business components from the first.
The projects are the examples from the help system of JDeveloper 9.0.3 Tutorials - Creating Swing Clients for Business Components Tutorial, well, now I made a deployment in simple archive and everything was fine but now I want to make a deploy to OC4J for the BC4J project (like EJB session Facade and BMT) and then a deploy of the JClient to run in another machine and connect with my application in oc4j.
The deploy for the project of BC4J apparently is ok because I tested with the tool of JDeveloper , but I dont know exactly how to make the deployment of the client in order to connect from another machine to the OC4J can anybody help me please? I read the help and many how to but don't describe a situation like that, If I make a deploy to OC4J connection don't appear any error but if I put the jar in other machine It ask for libraries , if I include all the libraries well is like a standalone application and run even if I shutdown the OC4J.
Thanks a lot!

Hi,
This whitepaper containst step-by-step instructions (for Java Web start though, but the 3-tier deployment is similar for local deployments)

  • Locally deploying Jclient Application

Can any body tell me the link to the documentation on how to locally deploy jclient application, java -jar app.jar
which files to be included in the classpath etc.
Actually I am building the Jclient Application using oracle lite. I was previously deploying it through webstart but was having the error that "no suitable driver"
The application wroks fine when executed through the jdeveloper.
So I was thinking that it would also work with local deployment.

Have a look at the command line JDeveloper uses to run your project (it's in the log window) - there you'll see the list of Jar files that are needed to get your project running.
Then you can replicate it in your deployment.

  • Deploying ear application - migrating from OC4j to Weblogic

I am trying to migrate application from OC4J to weblogic server. Apart from usual differences in descriptors, structure of EAR etc. I came across unusual error:
"both the remote home and remote component interface must be specified. Currently, only one of them is specified"
It is about deploying session bean. Usual EJB3 stateless session bean with local and remote interface, deployed without any problem on OC4J and JBoss. Of course, I know home interfaces are something to do with EJB 2.1, but this is EJB3 application and, I guess, Weblogic has full support for it. Does it? :)
Anyway, is there workaround? Or am I missing something? I don't have to tell you what problems we will be facing if I have to restructure whole application with dozens and hundreds of session beans.
    Thanks a lot!

OK. I just want to make sure that there are no problems with the deployment descriptors.
To pin point the problem do the following in JDeveloper:
    1. Create a simple EJB 3.0 session bean
    2. On that session bean create a Sample Java Client.
    3. Run the Session Bean
    4. Run the Client
    5. If both are running fine, compare the deployment descriptors from the sample and your real application.

  • How to deploy JSP application using inbuilt OC4J of Oracle BPEL??

I have to combine JSP pages with BPEL and for that i have to deploy applications with the inbuilt OC4J i dont know from where to deploy the whole application and how to write build.xml for deploying using obant

You can deploy your application to the Oracle Bpel Server by specifying a new Application Server connection that points to yout LocalBpelServer.
You don't need to write a build.xml file, you can just use the Deployment Descriptor functionality of JDeveloper which is much more easier than using the obant.
The process of automatically deploying your UI-application to the Oracle Bpel Server, without any manual steps or restaring the server, is fully documented on the following blog: http://iadvise.blogspot.com/

  • Deploy ADF application to standalone OC4J 11g

    Hi people!
I found some threads into the forums that deal with the subject but I did not find any solution, so I post a new thread...
In fact, I'd like to deploy a "war" on a standalone oc4j 11g.
The application was built with jdev 11g TP4.
I can't use the ADF runtime Installer of jdev, so I have to copy all the files by myself, but the problem is that I do not find the files in jdev11/BC4J/lib/ that I have to copy in oc4j/BC4J/lib...
    There is no adfcm.jar, bc4jdomorcl.jar, etc ...
Is it normal ? Could someone indicate me how to configure the standalone oc4j 11g in order to deploy my "war" ?
    Thanks a lot,
    romain.
Edited by: Romain Testu on 24 sept. 2008 09:28

    Hi,
    TP4 doesn't have a standalone OC4J.
Try to start embedded oc4j from jdeveloper in standalone mode.
see e.g. Re: Can Jdeveloper TP4 deploy apps to OC4J standalone TP4
BTW: The production release 11g is announced within next week and this release will contain Weblogic Server 10gR3 instead of OC4J.
    JDeveloper 11g release this month?
    regards

  • Deploying ADF Application to OC4J Using Jdeveloper

I tried to deploy an application to standalone OC4J using Jdeveloper, through a process similar to this:
    Deploying a Web Application
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe1013jdev/10131/deployment/deployment.htm
[making WAR for view-controller, JAR for model, and EAR in a new project]
First I got some errors relating to Apache Log4J jars (org/apache/log4j/Category). The problems are talked over in this forum and oc4j forum. I had to download apache-log4j-1.2.15.zip and add the jar file manually to the project and remove the checks in the WAR file descriptor.
The application was deployed after some attempts successfully, but, now the first page that appears after launching the application is my Home.jspx which is not the same page which comes up when I use embedded OC4J to run the application. The Home.jspx is blank and when I enter a link manually:
    http://farbod:8888/TestApp/faces/pages/Employees.jspx
    instead of http://farbod:8888/TestApp/faces/pages/Home.jspx
    I receive this error:
    500 Internal Server Error
Servlet error: An exception occurred. The current application deployment descriptors do not allow for including it in this response. Please consult the application log for details.
Is there anything wrong with my deployment?
(I just mentioned my initial problem with deployment to know if that gives a clue.
    I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3.3, OC4J 10.1.3.3)
    Thank you in advance.
    Farbod

    Hi,
hard to say from the error message. What if you create a EAR file that includes the WAR file and then deploy it through Enterprise Manager in OC4J ? Also, having a separate deployment project bears the risk fo missing dependencies. Ensure that the project has the project's dependency property set to all contributing projects

  • HOW CAN I DEPLOY BC4J JSP APPLICATION ON REMOTE OC4J?

    Hi,
I am using JDeveloper9iRC. I am trying to go through 'Oracle9i JDeveloper Reviewers Guide'. After having built business components and a JSP front-end I would like to deploy my application on remote OC4J (release 2). I started with the deployment of the middle-tier components as an EJB. It was a success, but I had to add the following line to application.xml file (because of JBO-28300: Piggyback read error):
    <library path="../../home/lib/bc4jdomorcl.jar" />
I also deployed the JavaServer Pages as Web Module - WAR. When I am trying to access the web application in a browser
    (http://hostname:8888/j2eeapp-3JSP-context-root/
OrdersView_BrowseEdit.jsp) I get an empty page. However, locally it works.
It looks like something wrong was with 'datatags.jar' library.
Is the following tag correct, if I have business components in different project than JSP:
    <jbo:ApplicationModule id="am" configname="bizlogic.BizlogicModule.BizlogicModuleLocal" releasemode="Stateful" />?
I would be grateful for every advice.

    hy wang.
    to deploy a simple jsp-project create a deployment-profile (WAR-File) in this project. -->file-->new-->deployment-profiles-->war.
now you need a connection to the oc4j where you want to put your files. this can be done in the system-navigation of jdev.
you then can rightclick the <myapp>.deploy and deploy the project to a selected oc4j.
don't forget to have a look at the jdev-help.
hope this helps you for the first.

  • How to deploy hibernate application in Oracle Content Management  SDK?

    Hi All,
I have a hibernate application which is perfectly working in Tomcat Server. I need to deploy the application under an OC4J Instance of Oracle Content Management SDK.
I have deployed the application under one OC4J Instance, but when I submitting the login page of the application, some errors are coming. The error is given below.

I think there is some thing missing in my configurations. Can you please tell how to deploy and run a hibernate application. Is there any problem occurs while accessing another DataBase from Oracle Content Management? What are the setting I have to do for running a hibernate application from Oracle CMSDK?
    Thanks in advance
    Basil

    Hi,
I got the solution for my problem. The error came because of the hibernate pooling. I removed the hibernate pooling lines from my hibernate configuration file and it is working fine.lines
    Thanks

  • Deploying jClient app

Another newbie question - I have an application with a model project and a view project in which I have built an ADF application mainly using the wizards so everything is pretty standard. The app connects to a local Oracle database on my PC.
My little app works well and now I want to deploy it to another PC running a copy of the database. This si a stand alone app, not a web one. I've tried deploying as simple jar files - I get one for my view project and a couple for the model. When I try to run the app I get java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/jbo/uicli/binding/JUErrorHandler.
Obviously I'm doing something wrong - any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Bob

    Bob,
the problem is that deploying JClient application sin a jar file assumes that you have all BC4J (or model) dependencies in the Java classpath on the target machine.
To solve this, you can change the jar file to include all the library dependecies.
    See:
    Re: JAR Error

  • Is there any way to use RUN button to deploy the application and open IE...

    Hi
Thank you for reading my post
i used to use Run button to compile / deploy and run (opening the browser to project context path) .
i want to know is there any way to use RUN button to deploy an application to standalone OC4J and opening browser?
I know that we can define ear or war deployment profiles and use them to deploy the application to stand alone server , but i want a single click solution.
    thanks

    Hello,
Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
    * [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
    * [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]

  • Deploying JSP Application in OC4J

    Hi Experts,
    Here is my query.
I have developed a small application containing around 40-50 JSPs. Its developed using Only JSPs & nothing else.
I use external JARs like *"jakarta-poi-1.5.0-FINAL-20020506.jar", "fileupload.jar"*. This application was testing & run successfully in Apache Tomcat 5.x Server in Window 2003 Server Platform.
I'm using OC4J which comes with OBIEE Report tool (Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition) to deploy this application. I'm not sure where these JSPs are to be placed & the JARs used by the JSPs. Kindly help me out on this.
    Thanks,
    Venky

    Hi
you need to create WAR file or EAR file and deploy to oc4j using Oracle Enterprise manager(OEM ) or command line deployment.
Please look into following blog to follow the EAR or WAR file structure
    http://soabpel.wordpress.com/2009/03/01/j2ee-enterprise-archive-ear-web-application-war-webservices-war-file-structure/
please look into following blog to deploy EAR or WAR files into Oc4J using OEM
    http://soabpel.wordpress.com/2009/03/02/oracle-10g-application-server-create-oc4j-deploy-war-deploy-ear-files/
if your application already working in Tomcat then go to your application under Webapps in TOmcat, use jar utility to create WAR file
    --Webapps
    ----<your application>
    jar -cvf *.* yourapp.war
    Thanks

  • How to deploy an ADF RC application to any OC4J that running on Linux?

I developed an application with the latest Jdev 11gTP3. The team has a linux server that I want to install an OC4J and deploy my application.
    I tried the following:
    1. OC4J standalone 11g. Followed the installation instruction, with the command:
    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/oc4j -start
I can initiate a server connection from Jdev, even passed test. But when deployment failed, I even tried to install ADF runtime library by following an Oracle official document. However, I can't get it work.
    2. I tried to start the Jdev embedded OC4J with command:
    java -jar oc4j.jar
I believe something has to be set before the application can work on this OC4J
Has anyone ever made it? Can you please share the steps of accomplishing it?
    Many thanks in advance.

    Thanks Frank for your reply
This can not be done with TP1 OC4J even with proper configuration and amendment?
How about WebSphere and Weblogic servers?
So at this stage, a TP3 ADF application could only run on JDev Embedded OC4J?
    Regards,
    William
