Deploying ear application - migrating from OC4j to Weblogic

I am trying to migrate application from OC4J to weblogic server. Apart from usual differences in descriptors, structure of EAR etc. I came across unusual error:
"both the remote home and remote component interface must be specified. Currently, only one of them is specified"
It is about deploying session bean. Usual EJB3 stateless session bean with local and remote interface, deployed without any problem on OC4J and JBoss. Of course, I know home interfaces are something to do with EJB 2.1, but this is EJB3 application and, I guess, Weblogic has full support for it. Does it? :)
Anyway, is there workaround? Or am I missing something? I don't have to tell you what problems we will be facing if I have to restructure whole application with dozens and hundreds of session beans.

OK. I just want to make sure that there are no problems with the deployment descriptors.
To pin point the problem do the following in JDeveloper:
1. Create a simple EJB 3.0 session bean
2. On that session bean create a Sample Java Client.
3. Run the Session Bean
4. Run the Client
5. If both are running fine, compare the deployment descriptors from the sample and your real application.

Problem with servlet after migrating from OC4J to WebLogic 10.3

I come across a problem when I was migrating from jDev 11g TP4 to production version in that step also server got changed from OC4J to webLogic.
I am running java http servlet along other jspx pages. When everything was on OC4J there was no problem whit security on this servlet ( servlet was under same authorization automatically, and I was able to create new application module on this servlet by createRootApplicationModule
) but when I changed to WebLogic 10.3 I come across a numerous problems. First one is solved i managed to put the servlet under same authorization as jspx pages by

Can someone help me fixing the issue?
I changed schema locations of descriptor files as suggested at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/web.1111/e13706/overview.htm#i1074199 (see the third category for '*Enterprise Bean 2.1*' in the listing Table 1-1). Alternatively, you may see the schema locations for EJB2.0 directly at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/web.1111/e13719/dd_reference.htm#EJBPG481

JRE version in JBoss is 1.6.0_16. JVM in web logic is pointing to jrockit_160_22_D1.1.1-3 which is come in the package. It doesn't seem to be related to JVM version mismatch.
I think it is an issue with definitions in weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml file. How should be the definition of entity-descriptor appear for entity bean which has finder methods in ejb-jar.xml?

Application Migration from JBOSS to Weblogic Server

Hi,
I am facing lots of issues while deploying an .ear file on Weblogic server. In the JBOSS server the application is working properly but whenever I am trying to deploy it on Weblogic server its throwing me an error stating :
"ERROR: No j2ee modules detected in EAR archive. Deployment aborted. "
I tried to convert the things to .war file and tried to deploy the application, the application got deployed but its throwing 'exception'.
Please revert me back with some solution.

Application Migration from HP-UNIX to SUN Solaris

Hi Gurus,
Need help on the application migration from HP-UNIX to Sun Solaris . Copied the filesystems APPL_TOP, OA_HTML, OA_JAVA, COMMON_TOP/util and COMMON_TOP/_pages from SOURCE( HP) to TARGET SUN-solaris as per 238276.1
Now trying to clone Autoconfig XML context file on the TARGET System
perl adclonectx.pl migrate java=\opt\java1.4 \
contextfile=\ul01\app\applmgr\lasrx\admin\LASRX_fiapd4.xml
Error: source context file ul01appapplmgrlasrxadminLASRX_fiapd4.xml does not exist.
Questions:

1. we still need to install jdk in the TARGET or copy the file system from source(HP) to target( Solaris) bring the JDK and how to check jdk on Solaris?
2. In clone autoconfig XML, contextfile=? Is the location of SOURCE or TARGER?
3. I think running above with root permission.
Please help somebody on this issue.

Migrate ADF application from OC4J to weblogic

Hi Experts,
we are trying to migrate ADF toystore demo(Version 10.1.2.46 (Built on 9-May-2005) from an IAS10.1.3 OC4J server to a fmw11g weblogic server,
We used the existing .ear from the old IAS server, and tried to deploy it though EM. Firstly we got below message:

That won't work. ADF 10g doesn't run on WLS. You need to upgrade to ADF 11g through JDeveloper.

Error while deploying ear file generated from weblogic to ocj4

I have an .ear file which has been generated from weblogic server.I tried to deploy it on ocj4 aby created a new project in eclipse and deploying it on ocj4.
When I try to run my project it gives me an error:

Migration from oc4j 9.0.3 to oc4j 9.0.4 Issues

Has anyone migrated the code from oc4j 9.0.3 to oc4j 9.0.4? Could anyone tell the migration issues please? That is, what are the parts of the code or the deployment-descriptors that need to be changed/updated?

Did anyone migrate to OC4J 9.0.4 and experience snail pace execution? I installed the pre-release 9.0.4 and deploy my applications without any problem. When I run my applications, it has very slow response. The CPU is intermittenly processing for a long time. I didn't change any code and it was my original "ear" files from 9.0.3. Is there anything I miss?

Please could somebody help me out with this? Basically I am not able to understand how to deploy the EAR file created under the MyWork folder under jdeveloper\jdev to the applications folder of j2ee\home. I am new to both EAR deployment as well as web services and would like to get a good understanding of the working of a web service which includes SOAP components and the like.
Any help with regards to building and deploying a web service on standalone OC4J would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Initially I followed the following steps to start up OC4J:-
Settings :-
1) Jdeveloper is setup under C:\Lester\Testing as Jdev10.1.3 folder
2) I downloaded the extended oc4j zip folder and unzipped it under a new folder oc4j at the location C:\Lester\Testing\Jdev10.1.3
Steps followed to run oc4j and deploy application
1) Setup a standalone oc4j from the jdeveloper ide giving C:\Lester\Testing\Jdev10.1.3\oc4j as the root folder for oc4j.
2) While doing step 1 added password and deployed it. Changed server.xml under C:\Lester/Testing/JDev10.1.3/oc4j/j2ee/home/config
to include the following:-

4) Deployment: Then I deployed my primewebservice application from command prompt at C:\Lester\Smart Cylinder\Example code\prime\PrimeNumberService>

6) Steps 4 and 5 went through without error.
7) However when trying to access the web service using the following link I get the standard HTTP 404 (Page not found) error:-

This was before I tried deploying the web service through jdeveloper IDE.

Please could somebody help me out? Also periodically I recieve the ojc.exe not found error when trying to deploy an application using jdeveloper ide. There are two conflicting jdeveloper versions one comes with this exe and one without.

Problem while deploying ear application in OAS

I am trying to undeploy application or redeploy, its is giving exception below exception

Again i have tried to deploy application freshly, it is telling already application is exists, i am not getting what we can do, even i have checked list of applications , the above application is present in list ,

i am not able to deploy, redeploy or undeploy , i am not able to do anything.

I removed the jar files from /lib/ext and putted el-api.jar by myself in /lib directory. Now I can deploy my application as EAR file without problems but when I try to deploy it directly through JDeveloper the problem is the same:

Issues migrating from oc4j 9.0.4 to oc4j 10.1.3

Is there an alterntive to env.put("dedicated.connection", "true") in the new version of oc4j, as this environment property is no longer used in 10.1.3
I am getting an error trying to get the principal from the sessionContext.
Though I am able to deploy my application correctly, I can login only once as the second time the principal is cached and i can no longer login to my application.
Is there a way to obtain a new connection each time.
Any kind of help is welcome as I have spent a lot of time trying to resolve this issue.

I have to combine JSP pages with BPEL and for that i have to deploy applications with the inbuilt OC4J i dont know from where to deploy the whole application and how to write build.xml for deploying using obant

You can deploy your application to the Oracle Bpel Server by specifying a new Application Server connection that points to yout LocalBpelServer.
You don't need to write a build.xml file, you can just use the Deployment Descriptor functionality of JDeveloper which is much more easier than using the obant.

I have a same problem.
I use Standalone OC4J AS (9.0.4), Jdev 10.1.2.0.0, j2sdk1.4.2._07, Oracle db 10.1.0
After install and startup oc4j i run jdev ADF runinstaller (was succesefull)
After deploy my and run my-app in browser i see my fist page and when i try to login in db i see that

Deploying application from oc4j to weblogic

while creating a new connection(by rt clicking the webapp.deploy) and then after i click testconnection i am getting the error cannot instantiate class: weblogic.jndi.WeblogicInitialContextFactory
