Deploy of VC model compiled in Web Dynpro fails

We are trying to deploy a model compiled in Web Dynpro and are getting the following error message.  We are developing on EP 7.0 SP 14.
Web Dynpro Compiler: Portal Request failed (WD deployment failed. Consult log file for details)
Compiling the model always works.  The error only shows when trying to deploy.  Also, this error disappears once we restart the system, but after a time it reappears.  Any ideas as to what might be happening?

Hi Andrew,
Don't work with WD runtime. It doesn't support all the features you have in VC. Flex is best supported.

  • How to add a javabean Model to a web dynpro Project

    Hi all,
I have been following the tutorial "Using EJBs in Web Dynpro Applications" for creating a customized LOCAL webdynpro application, based in javabean Model. It was made by just exporting the JAR file from a java project, as it is explained in the tutorial. OK.
The problem comes when I want to duplicate the development but using a DC Web Dynpro Project. I have re-develop every step of the tutorial but using DC projects:
DC diccionary project, DC ejb project, DC enterprise application project & DC java project.
But now I DO NOT KNOW the steps for importing the development into a model for DC Web Dynpro.
Anyhelp will be very appreciated, thanks in advance-

    Thanks Jhansi,
Yes, you are right. I had already followed those steps. The error comes when I have to select between the JavaBean Source:
    1. project (source folder) (checkbox)
    2. public parts of used DC's (combobox)
I have been trying both, the second one by copying first the JAR called CommandBean.jar of my DC Java Project with dependencies to EJB project into the web dynpro "lib" folder, and then selecting the new entry CommandBean.jar from that combobox.
then i get de following error: "Invalid JAR - No JavaBeans available for import"
So I do not know how to use any of these two options for java source.
    Thanks.

  • Create adaptive web service model for a web dynpro project

I have been trying to create a new new adaptive web service model for a web dynpro project.I am using the URL of the wsdl file to create the model. I have copied the url link of the wsdl from the overview tab of the web services navigator. The web service works fine when tested through the Netweaver Navigator. This web service has also been used successfully through the Visual Composer. But when I try to create a model for this web service URL, when I click the Next button after entering the URL in the model creation wizard  step 4 , I get "Error loading wsdl file. Check error log for details" Given below is the exception recorded in the error log: (Infact, I get this for all wsdl URLs)

  • Expose EJB through Java Bean model importer in Web Dynpro

    Hi,
I am planning to expose EJB like following:
    1. Create Stateless session bean as a façade for DAO access.
    2. Create DAO to access database. In my case is Oracle DB
    3. Create Java Bean to encapsulate session bean
    4. Import java bean model to web dynpro
Few of my business method return the object array e.g. Customer[] which contains all properties of customer, and getter, setter.
Has anyone done this before? Is there any sample code?
    Best Regards,
    Zhang Yan

  • Layout by compiling in Web DynPro

    Hello,
i have developed some IViews in Visual Composer. If I deploy this IViews as Flash, the design of the forms is the same that I have made in the Design-Tab. Not in deploying as Web DynPro. There are one below each other. Why is that and how to fix?
    Thanks,
    Peter

    Hi,
can you please correct the Note-Number? I can not found any note under this number.

  • Differences between compiling a VC model with Flash or Web Dynpro

    Hello forum,
Is there anyone capable of telling me what are the main differences between compiling a Visual Composer model with Flash compiler or Web Dynpro compiler.
I've noticed that some important features aren't available when I use the WD compiler, such as creating a popup directly from the output of a table and I can't install a scroll bar to navigate through the table records (it only allows me to place some navigation buttons in the bottom of the table, and this is not a very user-friendly solution).
If you were me, would you choose the Flash compiler?
By the way, do you know a way to increase the performance of a report created with VC? When I execute the iView on the Netweaver Portal, I see that a iview compiled with Webdynpro consumes less 15MB of memory when running the report than a similar iview compiled with Flash.
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Ricardo Inácio

I found this old post while searching for something else. The main difference between Flash and Web Dynpro modes is that Flash works and Web Dynpro most emphatically does not. Some of the (many) disadvantages of Web Dynpro mode.
    1. It will not let you design your own screens. The designer will let you resize and position your fields thus giving you the illusion of being in control, but at runtime it will resize your fields and position them where it thinks fit.  This greatly increases development time since you can never be sure what any changes you make to your screen will look like until you run it.
    2. You cannot include horizontally and vertically aligned fields in the same form; depending on the option you choose it will align them all vertically or horizontally.  Which means that if you do need eg a horizonal row of pushbuttons at the top of your screen followed by a set of vertical fields, you have to use a separate form for each.
    3. You cannot use the Editing mode = Read-only mode to make all the input fields in a form non-entereable.  You can select it in the designer, but at runtime it doesn't take a blind bit of notice.  The only way to make a field non-enterable is to check the Disabled box which turns it a very pale and almost invisible grey which looks awful.
    4. You can't change the font or colour of texts.
    5. Lots of the controls are not available eg the clock.
    6. You cannot create toolbars on forms, or rather you can but at runtime it just ignores them.
    7. Adding a hyperlink to a pushbutton does not do anything (this is my latest discovery).
All of the above work in Flash mode.  We have to use Web Dynpro because we need the screens to work with screen readers for visually impaired viewers, but anyone who does not have this constraint should avoid using it like the plague.

  • Return parameter of a Webservice model in web dynpro

    Hii,
I have imported one webservice model in my web dynpro application.
After execution, when web service returns 'NULL'  ( i checked in web service navigator)
but at the same time, the response node in web dynpro is NOT NULL and it is showing size 1 ??
How come this is possible? When i check the attributes of response node, they are all NULL...
Im checking response node this way==>
              wdContext.currentRequest_BodyShopUAViDocument_checkUsernamePasswordElement().setUsername(uniqueName);
    wdContext.currentRequest_BodyShopUAViDocument_checkUsernamePasswordElement().setPassword("dummy");
    wdThis.executeRequest_BodyShopUAViDocument_checkUsernamePassword();
    if(wdContext.nodeResponse() == null){
          WDClientUser.forceLogoffClientUser("someURL");
Pls help me in resolving this...

  • Error when Creating Web Dynpro Model in CAF-Service

    Hi All,
I reaaly need help. AFter updating to SPS 9, it was necessary to redeploy my Entity Service. That contains to "Create a Web Dynpro Model" in the Service Explorer,
to get an interface of the Service in my Web Dynpro Application.
Before I update to SPS 9, the Application works fine.
But now, when I want to "Create a Web Dynpro Model" in the NWDS I get the following Error-Message (its not a useful Error-Message):
<i>Error cannot create Web Dynpro Model:
Creation of  Web Dynpro model failed. Reason: null </i>
    Thanks for helping me
    Steve

    Hi Aliaksei,
the problem in the thread is the same I got.
When I use only 7 letters for the operation name, the creation work. When I use more then 7 letters the creation doesnt work.
But its hard to find a methodname with only 7 letters.
In SPS 8 I didnt have problems with the length of method names. Why is it so?

I encountered the same issue in all NWDS versions I tested on Windows Vista, while it works perfectly fine on Windows XP.
This issue is caused by com.sap.ide.jcb.core.service.SAPLogonHelper not being able to retrieve system environment variables on Windows Vista.
Fortunately the solution is simple: let NWDS think that it is running on Windows XP instead of Windows Vista. This can be achieved by adding the following parameter to "vm.parameters" in the NWDS installation directory (probably C:\Program Files\SAP\IDE\IDE70\eclipse):
    -Dos.name='Windows XP'
    (don't forget the single qoutes)
So your vm.parameters should look something like:
    -Xmx1024m
    -Xms256m
    -XX:PermSize=32m
    -XX:MaxPermSize=128m
    -Dos.name='Windows XP'

  • Web Service as Web Dynpro tableView Model

    Hi people!
I´ve developed a WebService with a findAllClients method which brings out all the rows from a MaxDB table. Everything works fine when I test it from de WebServices perspective, but when I create a model for my Web Dynpro tableView importing the mentioned WS, I get the following error message:
The Java type of the cmp-field that is stored in column ID, table DB_CLIENTES does not fit to the JDBC type INTEGER of the column. The expected JDBC type is VARCHAR.
I´ve set the built-in type of the column ID in my Java Dictionary project to integer. The corresponding CMP-Field in the entity EJB is java.lang.Integer. I´ve deleted the column from the tableView.
What´s wrong? Any idea please? Where could I find some documentation about this mapping requirements topic?
    Thanks very much in advance.

    Is this the only way?
Anyways, thanks a lot. I haven't been working with ODI yet, I just have to find out, if it is possible to use it for our project. So I just read through the user's guide...

  • How to consume the Abap web service in Java web-dynpro

    Hi Everyone,
I want to consume ABAP web service in java web dynpro.
so when i tried to create model in java web-dynpro, it gave me an error message saying "Invalid WSDL or WSDL not found".
i think this error message is because, to access the WSDL of abap web-service, we need username and password, but the dialog box in java web-dynpro is not programmed to take username and password from us and send it to the server to get the WSDL.
i came to this conclusion because i was able to successfully test my abap web-service in java portal. the java portal asked me the username and password to open the WSDL.
So, please help me to consume the abap web service in java web-dynpro.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Vikas

    Hi Vikas ,
while creating a model in web-dynpro try to use the "import web service model" option and if you are using local server choose the local server option so that you can get the available web services which are in server, select one among them and continue you process.I think this is the some what easy way .
If you want use the URL for wsdl better to once test the available service in server and copy that WSDL URL and paste over  WSDL textbox.
I think this is pretty help ful to you
    Best Regards
