Thanks! I suspected that as well, but I think it is when Carbon Copy Cloner runs together with Paragon NTFS that I'm getting the problem. Does that make sense?
May I ask which part of the log should I be looking at to see what is causing the kernel panic?

  • Can anyone make sense of this Kernel panic log I got?

My computer has been acting up a lot as of late so I took it to the Apple Store (A local one, not a retail store) and the guy said the turnaround time was about 5 days, not including weekends. I decided to keep it over the weekend and reinstall OSX, run Apple Hardware Test, and play around with it a bit more. I got this kernel panic while watching the MLG Dallas livestream, but I've had these problems while doing anything, from watching livestreams and YouTube videos to browsing and chatting on facebook, and even while simply booting up the computer. I've run AHT (extended) which turned back nothing, reinstalled OSX, reset PRAM, and everything else I can think of. To give you a better idea of the problem, here's the thread I posted about it earlier
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2802562&tstart=0
Sometimes it gives me kernel panics, sometimes it just shuts down and gives me a randomly colored screen to look at. Either way, it's really annoying.

  • Could someone interpret this eMac panic.log please?

I have had some interesting adventures with this eMac (1GHz, 40GB, 512MB, Combo) last few days. I will list those adventures if it helps someone to help my dilemma. I haven't a clue what any of this means. Is the eMac repairable? What can I do on my own? I was only able to get to this log from Safe Boot Mode.

    Hello,
We had (still do) two eMac's a 1.25GHZ USB 2.0 1GB ram and a 1.0GHZ 1GB ram, never had kernal
    panics on either
then, (One was in use the faster one with a airport extreme card) the 1.0GHz stored (also with a airport
extreme card) We bought a Airport Extreme dual band 802.11n router and got every one set up
    (using a
MacBook pro running Snow Leopard, specs said Macs running OSX 10.3.9 Panther could run
    wirelessly
from the Airport Extreme (but not set it up) and then I went to the eMac 1.25GHz and turned it on
and kernal panic, yikes, ran applejack, techtoo from Applecare (though a 2004 version) and Apple
Hardware  test and Disk Warrior , everything is fine, then thought, bring out the other emac (running
Panther) started it up bang Kernal Panic, then, unplugged both for awhile, plugged then back in did
zap PRAM, then restarted one in safe mode and it worked like a computer, no kernal panic (*But we
turned off the airport card) restarted and turned airport card back on and kernal panic, did this with
both, turning on/off airport card on two computers and airport extreme card on-kernal panic, card off
worked like a mac (but no online) so, hooked up via Ethernet, reset settings on emac on 1 and was
fine, no kernal panic, ran like a mac and got online, switched the ethernet over to the other eMac
and same thing, after settings changed, mac ran, got online no kernal panic
Then swicthed both back to airport extreme card settings-Kernal Panic Right Away, ended up using
ethernet cable on one, put the emac 1.0 Ghz back in basement (and later the 1.25Ghz ) and bought
a imac in 2010 3.06Ghz 4GB Ram, spoke with tech support (as Airport Extreme was quite new and
Staff said that the new (then early 2010 I think) the Airport Extreme dual band 802.11N due to play
well with 802.11B Airport Extreme cards, I discussed the specs and what was required to set up the
Airport Utility and Airport Extreme (Leopard >above, and to use Panther 10.3.x and above (guess not
true or We had one very unusual coincidence
? did You by chance get a new Router or cable modem? If possible try the ethernet route if possible
(adjust settings in System Preferences, ? move eMac closer if You have a short pice of cable
    I realize eMac's weigh 55pounds or so,
Just thought I would share this, The XLAB is a great site, but this trouble shooting found out ours
    * and a imac (older) could not accept the high level of security, so it (was a Airport Card 1st version)
swicthed to ethernet and a lower security type )its on the desk with the cable modem and airport
extreme and rarely used or on anymore ( alaptop is used instead)
Bizarre or what? later used Google and typed in Apple Airport Extreme 802.11N dual band and
problems and wow pages and pages (a lot like what I am writing)
    Best of luck

FYI: It seems it was a network problem with my WinXP PC. After complete deletion and new installation of XP and iTunes my iPhone will be recognized correctly, Wifi synchronization works (mostly) fine.

    Thanks.

It's a POP account. I decided to clean up my mailbox today after noticing the computer was real slow after USA Today started sending their daily top stories with new graphics. Also before I noticed the problem with mail deletion - two things happened. 1) I updated security sofware as prompted by Apple and 2) downloaded Mackeeper and went throught some preliminary scans but did not buy their package. Thanks forn nstaying with me.

Hi, I had been having the same problem for over a week, but both my window's HP and my 2011 macbook pro barely could load youtube.  What kind of router you have?  I was using a belkin play router that was only 8 months old, switched to a new AirPort Extreme Base Station and now everything works perfect.

Sorry, but you cannot use that card with a Canadian iTunes Store account. A gift card is valid only in the country of purchase. You'll need to give or sell that card to someone in Spain.

I assume you are including the STIX font as part of your epub files?
Perhaps the folks who do this blog might be able to help -- they have done some work with font embedding:

I have followed the instructions to update Flash Player, the Installation Fails at about 90%, it says that there is an Application running (Safari) and it says to close all the apps. and start again ... but I already close all the Applications ... none is running ... can someone help me with this issue ??? Thanks ...

    Dear Dominic
Brilliant reply. Simple English. Simple to follow instructions. And it worked immediately, first time.
Why couldn't the Apple and Adobe corporations get their programming right first time? We spend billions of UK pounds and US dollars with them. They reply with incompetent programming such as this, and arrogance to their customers in issuing faulty systems without doing the most rudimentary checks.
Anyway, I certainly shan't be buying another Apple as this is the most unreliable, most incomprehensible, most illogical and downright thoughtless shoddy piece of computer kit which I have ever owned. And all of it is rubbish ~ emails disappear, photos can't be organised properly, spreadsheets don't work, Pages is laborious… the list goes on and on...
But thanks to you Dominic, I have been able to load Adoble Flashj… maybe eyou should get  a job at Apple, and set them all on the right course to how to work simply and correctly with customers.
    Thanks again,
    David
