Deploying SOA components on different servers/domains

Is it possible to disassemble components developed on the SOA/ADF suite of JDeveloper and deploy them in different domains? i.e deploy adf web application in one domain, deploy bpm in a different domain and bpel processes in a different domain? Will this arrangement work?
In other words..i have a adf web application with some task flows. one of the task flow embeds the task list task flow of the bpm component.This works well when both web and the bpm applications are deployed to the same domain/server. Will this work if i put either of them in a different server/domain?
Please provide your thoughts?

Hi
Yes. You can Deploy any SOA/BPM Application in 2 Different Domains provided you have the Deployers for all the projects created properly. Ideally, any SOA/BPM Workflow application should have just 2 things to deploy: Workflow SCA JAR File (.JAR) and one EAR (that has all the stuff except for Workflow JAR File). The below link gives the ideal way of deployment.
Re: deploying a large Oracle BPM Application with multiple UI projects
As per above link, you can always deploy workflow sca jar file in ONE domain. And the TaskForms and all the supported Projects in totally different Domain at different host and port. This should work.
The most important file that links actual TASK from Workflow Project to the corresponding TaskDetails JSPX Page in TaskForms Project is this file:
/yourSOABPMApp/yourTaskFlowUIProject/adfmsrc/hwtaskflow.xml
Also, once deployed, look at the contents of the Table named in WFTASKDISPLAY in your XXX_SOAINFRA schema associated with your soa/bpm Domain. This table stores the above relationship and also stores the actual host and port of the domain hosting the Taskforms.

  • 1 Admin console to manage OSB and SOA installed on different servers

    Dear All,
    We are planning to have OSB installed on Host 1 and SOA server installed on Host 2. But there will be one Admin console to manage these 2 for the ease of maintenance. When i was trying to install this configuration I had few issues. Hope SOA experts can help me with the configuration.
    1)
    As SOA and OSB are installed on 2 different host both the servers must have weblogic installed as pre requisite. So I will have
    on host 1:
    http://host1:7001/console
    http://host1:7001/sbconsole
    On host 2:
    http://host2:7001/console (this is redundant)
    http://host2:8001/soa-infra
    2) Is it possible to inactivate http://host2:7001/console ? and add SOA server running on host2 to http://host1:7001/console. In the sense, I would like to control the SOA server from host 1.
    Issue No :2
    When I create a domain on Host 1 I just get the options for OSB and not SOA. It is obvious as SOA is not installed on Host1. but if that is the case, Is it possible to add SOA server running on host2 to host1. Is it going to be a cluster?
    Is this configuration seems realistic? Has anyone implemented. Any pointers please.

  • Installing SQL Server 2012/2014 components on different servers

    What are the licensing requirements under the following scenario:
    Server A, virtual machine/server, 4 virtual cores, only SQL Server Database Services installed (and associated client tools)
    Server B, virtual machine/server, 4 virtual cores, only SQL Server Analysis Services installed
    Does this scenario require FOUR two-core pack licenses (so a total of 8 core licenses) or TWO two-core pack licenses?

  • Install SOA suite components on different cpu

    If we buy one copy of the CPU license of SOA suite (list price 65,000/cpu), can we deploy its components on different CPUs? For example, can we run its Portal on one machine, its BEPL Process manager on the second machine, and BAM on a third machine. Is their a limitation on how many CPUs we can run the one SOA suite (CPU) license? Thanks in advance for your help.

    Fabian,
    Oracle's support for other applications servers such as JBoss, Websphere, WebLogic, etc is more a sales story than something that people do in practice. Oracle doesn't want to lose a sale because a customer has a strategic alliance with a particular application server. So they support SOA Suite on the main competitors. Licensing is a dark art and I couldn't give you a 100% guarantee on how SOA Suite is sold but to get SOA Suite you need to license enterprise Application Server. SOA Suite is on top of this. If you turn it around if you buy SOA suite you get Oracle Application Server enterprise edition (includes OC4J) for free.
    So if you are looking at using JBoss for a cost cutting exercise I don't believe the licensing at Oracle will help you.
    The install for SOA Suite is the install for ESM + WSM, there is no separate install for these products for thrid party application servers. So you topology is not as flexible as it could be is you used Oracle Application Server.
    Your proposed option of SOA Suite (ESB, WSM) is an option using the document provided in previous post.
    When I say Oracle Application Server I mean Oracles existing Application Server, Not Web Logic. There is currently a progression of porting the OC4J apps to Weg Logic, this should be completed when 11g arrives. There are a few version release before this happens, each one providing more functionality.
    If I was you I would understand the price of SOA Suite on JBoss as apposed to Oracle Application Server. If the price comes close then I would go with using the Oracle Application Server. If you want to use the ESB, I would go with Aqua Logic installed on WLS. Currently SOA Suite is not certified on the 10.3 release hence keep it on the Oracle Application Server. There will be a migration path to 11g next year.
    cheers

  • Urgent: Same BPEL code, different servers, different results in deployment

    Hi everybody,
    I need some urgent assistance as I am nearing a Go-live deadline.
    I have some BPEL code (10.1.3.3) which I attempt to deploy from JDeveloper (10.1.3.4).
    When I deploy to development environment it deploys fine.
    When I try to deploy to test environment I get the following error:
    [Error ORABPEL-10902]: compilation failed
    [Description]: in "bpel.xml", XML parsing failed because "undefined part element.
    In WSDL at "file:/oradata/OracleAS_1/bpel/domains/outboundnoterepository/tmp/.bpel_RealWSDL_1.0_75ea24906b156b639e4531aa3ef007fb.tmp/nrwsdl/nr/RCMR_AR000002NR01.wsdl", message part element "{urn:hl7-org:v3}MCCI_IN002200NR01" is not defined in any of the schemas.
    Please make sure the spelling of the element QName is correct and the WSDL import is complete.
    This makes no sense to me. If there was a problem with the "{urn:hl7-org:v3}MCCI_IN002200NR01" element it should be the same whether I deploy to development or test environment.
    The only thing I have changed is the endpoint of an invokation from the process - and I even tried not changing that to no avail.
    Does anyone have any idea what is going on here?
    Your help is much appreciated!
    Kind regards,
    Mathias

    Hello f1fan,
    just to be sure, are you getting the same message stating
    {noformat}
    In WSDL at "file:/oradata/OracleAS_1/bpel/domains/outboundnoterepository/tmp/.bpel_RealWSDL_1.0_75ea24906b156b639e4531aa3ef007fb.tmp/nrwsdl/nr/RCMR_AR000002NR01.wsdl", message part element "{urn:hl7-org:v3}MCCI_IN002200NR01" is not defined in any of the schemas.
    {noformat}
    when deploying your process? Or is it just a different behavior when deploying to different servers?
    The first issue might arise from an import statement in the wsdl file having a location that could not be resolved on the BPEL server. Do you use imports and if so, are you using a URL or a local relative path?
    Cheers,
    Marco

  • Can Ironport support 2 different servers within 1 domain?

    Hi All,
    The situation is:
    Our company's Ironport is using firmware AsyncOS 7.6 and currently is connected to Lotus Notes Server.
    However, we are now planning to add 1 more mail server - MS Exchange.
    The questions are:
    1. Is it possible to connect both Notes and Exchange with 1 domain only?
    2. If yes, can we set some filtering to seperate then the incoming email can fall into the designated server?
    3. How can we achieve connecting 2 different servers under 1 domain?
    Please give any other comments if you have. Thanks!!
    Thanks and Regards
    Krav

    Krav,
    You should be able to do this. However, a curious question, are you planning to migrate off of Lotus notes or is this going to be a permanent solution? Are the mailboxes for both mail servers going to be the same (maybe clustered).
    1. Yes, you can have multiple servers assigned to a domain, by specifying the ip address as an additional entry in SMTP routes.
    2. This may prove to be the big issue. There is no filtering mechanism that can distinguish lotus notes bound mail from exchange bound mail. For example; if you set both the servers with the same priority in SMTP routes they will round robin, meaning some mail will goto Lotus notes and other mail will goto Exchange. So if this is just to test, you can possibly use the priority option in the SMTP routes. However, this may also be more of a question as to whether you could cluster an Exchange and lotus notes server, which is beyond my understanding.
    3.In the SMTP Routes section click on the domain and add in the ip address of the other server. Be mindful that if you keep the priority the same, mail will round robin between the devices. However if you set the first device to 0 and the second device to 10, mail will primarily goto the device with the 0 priority. You will also need to specify the ip address of the second server in your HAT table, if you are using the Relaylist.

    Photoshop does not keep profiles anywhere.
    Profiles are managed by the OS.
    Photoshop shows the available profiles in it's UI, and gets the list of available profiles from the OS.
    What does Hot Press Birght Paper mean?
    That the profile applies to a particular paper, probably called "hot press bright" paper.
    Yes, you will have a profile for each printer and type of paper -- you have to in order to describe how the image will appear on each printer and type of paper.

  • Cannot deploy SOA composite to a managed server

    My problem: cannot deploy SOA composite to a managed server.
    The following is what I did:
    1. I created a domain "devDomain". admin server is created automatically for me.
    *2. I created a manged server (soa_server1) on my domain after.*
    2. started the admin server
    3. started soa_server1
    4. see both servers in WLS control, both server state=running
    5. see both server in EM console, both server status are up
    6. in JDev(11.1.1.5.0), created an application server connection, and tested the connection successfully
    7. when I tried to deploy my composite from JDev, I selected the application server connection, on step "SOA servers", it only lists AdminServer.
    8. Then I tried to deploy the composite from EM by right-click soa_server1, but "SOA deployment" is not in the list.
    My guess: there should be some libraries or other resources applied to soa_server1 before it could accept soa deployment. What are these libraries/resources?
    I tried to target all 10 libraries under the path "oracle.soa." to soa_server1, and checked the config.xml and found the file was updated correcly, reboot my pc, restarted the servers, but still face the same problem.
    My environment is weblogic 10.3.5.
    Basically, my question is:
    after a domain is created and admin server is there, if I want to add a managed server which will host soa composites, what should I do to configure the managed server?

    Hi All,
    Can anybody can guide how to create one more soa-infra under the same domain. In order to maintain my composites to be deployed into
    different domains, I need to create one more soa-infra and deployed all the composites under that one.
    Please let me know if any demo is available for this activity to be gets completed.

    Hi Vijay,
    There are several composites which needs to be deployed and maintained in the server. So, we I'm trying to maintian
    by deploying composites into 3 different SOA-INFRA's so if one is not accessible, we can look into it and others can access the
    composites from another SOA-INFRA instead of creating domains.
    Let me know what will be feasible way to perform this activity.

  • CFLOGIN works, but not simultaneously on different servers/broswers

    I'm using CFLOGIN with application.cfc which works great when I test it - I'll call it login session A in browser window 1.
    When I simultaneously log into the same app on a different server with a different username (login session B in browser window 2), I can't login - unless I log out out of session A/browser window 1 first. Something in my new code is preventing me from logging into my app more than one time, even when the apps are on separate servers and I'm using different usernames.
    We have the same app on various servers (test/development/production), and I used to be able to login on 2-3 browsers or servers at a time - and I never had a problem until recently when I made some changes to the application.cfc and login code.
    I updated the code because before the session scopes and login credentials were not being initiated and terminated together (upon login/logout). Before, a user was clicking 'logout' and it was clearing the session scopes without invoking CFLOGOUT. Now, I fixed that, but I have another problem, which is that I can't log into the application on two different browsers or servers at the same time (even if I'm using different login usernames). Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Oh no, that was my mistake. Thank you for catching that! That query is currently not being used on my Application.cfc page, which is why I wasn't having problems with it, but I'm glad you pointed it out to me. I had that code in my Application.cfc file just incase I wanted to check login from somewhere else, but my login query is actually being called with Flash Remoting using setCredentials() to connect to login.cfc. This is the correct query in my login.cfc file:
                <cfquery name="qValidateLogin" username="#session.uname#" password="#session.pword#" datasource="#session.dbase#">
                    select role from session_roles where role like 'xxxxx%'
                </cfquery>
    I do think I figured out a solution to my problem though. I found out how to use applicationToken, which I understand if it is not set, by default will be the value of application.Name. If you want users to be able to log into multiple instances of  your application at the same time, you would give the applicationToken the same value. This would be great for clustered servers or sites with sub-domains.
    If you wanted to force only one login for the three different sites, you could give this a different value. VERY useful. So I have:
    <cfcomponent displayname="Application" output="false">
        <cfset this.name = 'SampleApp'>
        <cfset this.SessionManagement = true>
        <cfset this.SetClientCookies = true>
        <cfset this.SessionTimeout = CreateTimeSpan( 0, 0, 5, 0 ) />
        <cfset this.loginStorgage = "session">
        <cfset this.applicationtoken = 'SampleAppSub'>
    Now, I can log into this site on my development machine with multiple browsers pointing to the same site hosted on different servers - with no problem. I never had an issue with this before, but something else I recently added into my code in Application.cfc made this not work. I should probably also mention that I work on many different applications that all use the same application.Name even though they are different sites - we do this so the same settings can be deployed on different servers.
    With the applicationToken settings, I have it working again. Perhaps what made it break was setting this.loginStorage = "session"? Before this was not set and was using the default value of  "cookies" which I didn't want - because my site is used by different people on the same box and we have clustered servers.

  • Multiple SOA clusters within a Single Domain

    Hi All,
    We're looking at a scenario where there would be multiple SOA clusters within a single domain. Would that be possible to do? I mean I can create multiple SOA clusters but it seems that applications deployed to one of the 2 SOA clusters seem to go into an inconsistent state. Please advise. Thank you.

    This is just because all SOA servers in a domain will refer to one(same) SOAINFRA schema for SOA deployments info and hence belong to same logical group (cluster) and that's the reason why you cann't even have two separate SOA managed servers without a cluster.

  • Ideas on formally building SOA Components.

    Good afternoon all,
    Can anyone give me an idea on ways to formally build soa components and properly track their revisions throughout the artifacts life cycle?
    We all formally build our java code in one way or another. What is the best practice in formally building SOA Components prior to moving them to an Integrated environment? For example developer 1 is working on soa_project_1 deploying it to their local SOA Server using revision 1.0 with the check box enabled saying to overwrite if existing. Developer 1 finishes working checks the project into source control. Developer 2 picks up the source begins developing against trunk, leaving the check box checked to over write existing. checks the project into svn. No longer is the revision 1.0 anymore it's now something different. Yet we have it still deployed as 1.0.
    Thanks in advance and I look forward to your input!!!!
    Charles

    Hi,
    The developers first get the code from the Version Control system like SVN tortoise. They do changes locally on their machine, and save the changes to the SVN and deploy the changes to the SOA Unit Instance or Development Instance. If someone else is working on the same code, he needs to get an update of the latest code in the SVN repository. And also, as you know, in SVN, you can know what changes have been done by which user and what time and all. So, whoever does the changes, they will upload that changes to the trunk and test the changes and later merge the changes to the branch. This is how it goes and coming to the version for the composite it depends on how to you want to track the changes. And also, while deploying you can select the new version to be non-default and after testing that changes and if it is working as expected, then you can make that default revision. Hope i have answered your questions
    Thanks,
    N
