    Hi manohar,
    Thank you, Pierluigi for encouraging Middleware Magic Team :)
    manohar, apart from what *"Pierluigi"* has suggested, additionally please notice the following messsage in your StackTrace (whih is basically a NOTICE message but does not look good)
    The loading of the trusted certificate list raised a certificate parsing exception PKIX: Unsupported OID in the AlgorithmIdentifier object:In your case it looks like the actual issue is your Certificate which comes by default with JDK. As mentioned in this BUG.
    http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6803022
    Additionally please refer to the following Thread:
    http://forums.oracle.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=3958098#3958098
    I am suspecting that you need to do the following in order to get rid of Certificate Errors which is the ROOT cause of your issue
    Do the following: After taking a backup of *"$JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/security/cacerts"* file
    cd $JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/security
    cp -p cacerts cacerts.original
    chmod 644 cacerts
    keytool -delete -alias ttelesecglobalrootclass2ca -keystore cacerts
    keytool -delete -alias ttelesecglobalrootclass3ca -keystore cacertsAlso try with Node Manager Communication type as "*Plain*" because it looks like you are getting PKIX security certificate chain message, just to isolate the issue.

  • Problem starting Admin Server using Node Manager

    I have configured the Node Manager to run as a windows service. I want it to start the Admin Server when it is started. This is not working. The Node Manager starts without problem but does not appear to even attempt to start the Admin Server. No error message is written to the nodemanager.log. I have configured the following properties as described in the documentation:
    StartScriptEnabled=true
    StartScriptName=startWebLogic.cmd
    Starting the Admin Server using wlst works. As does starting and stopping a Managed server using the Admin console. This leads me to conclude that the Node Manager configuration is ok.
    WLS version is 9.2.
    All suggestions as to what could be the issue here would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers!

    Ok, I just wasted a whole day before I found the tricks.
    First, you don't need to do that StartScriptEnabled stuff, unless you have important things to add there.
    Ok, and now what I found:
    - You must make sure you have installed the NodeManager as a service
    - Next, make sure the admin server is assigned to the right machine. Since you can do the WLST trick, that should be fine. If not, tough luck, because the docs say you cannot re-assign an admin server.
    - In nodemanager.properties (...\weblogic92\common\nodemanager) make sure CrashRecoveryEnabled is set to true
    - In nodemanager.domains (same dir) make sure your domain is mentioned with its path
    - For each of the servers to be auto-started, make sure that a startup.properties (in <your-domain-dir> \servers\<server-name> \data\nodemanager) contains Arguments=-Xnohup (for JRockit, for Sun JDK its -Xrs)
    Make sure they are started through the nodemanager, et voila, they'll be restarted after a reboot.
    Why this works? At reboot, the OS ask all processes to die, nicely. Those that don't, get killed forcibly. Without the -Xnohup/rs, the WebLogic servers respond to the nice request, and the nodemanager immediately tries to restart them. Unfortunately, the OS refuses to do that, and the server process is marked as failed, and won't be restarted after reboot. With the option given, the servers ignore mr nice guy, and get killed after the nodemanager has disappeared.
    What can go wrong? A lot. I was playing with the nodemanager username and password, and that took some time to clean up. I probably have to redo the entire setup just to make sure I have a repeatable experience now...
    Cheers,
    Bert

  • Start Admin Server using NodeManager without 'boot.properties'

    Hi All,
    I am trying to stat Admin Server using nodemanager through below code.
    public static void main(String args[]) {
              try{
              System.out.println("Starting...");
              InteractiveInterpreter  interpreter = new WLSTInterpreter();
              interpreter.exec("nmConnect('weblogic', 'weblogic123', '10.0.0.100', '5556', 'domain1','D:/oracle/MiddleWare/user_projects/domains/domain1','ssl')");
              interpreter.exec("nmServerStatus('AdminServer')");
              interpreter.exec("nmStart('AdminServer')");
              interpreter.exec("nmDisconnect()");
              System.out.println("End.");
              }catch(Exception ex){
                   System.out.println("Hello...");
                   ex.printStackTrace();
         }Everything is working fine but we need a property file 'boot.properties' under location 'Bea Home/user_projects/domain/domain1/servers/AdminServer/data/nodemanager' having username and password.
    Please let me know if there is any way to start Admin Server using nodemanager without using 'boot.properties' file.
    Is there any way to provide username and password directly to 'nmStart()' method.
    Please let me know...
    Edited by: Rajesh Panchal on Jun 14, 2011 1:56 AM

    Hi Rajesh,
    Maybe you are looking for something like:
    wls:/nm/IDMDomain> pr=makePropertiesObject("username=weblogic;password=weblogic0");
    wls:/nm/IDMDomain> nmStart('AdminServer',props=pr);
    Then, in your source code it should be something like:
    interpreter.exec("pr=makePropertiesObject('username=weblogic;password=weblogic0')");
    interpreter.exec("nmStart('AdminServer',props=pr)");
    Hope it works.

  • Mounting remote AFP volumes on Panther Server from Tiger client.

    Has anyone else had this problem....
    When connecting to a remote AFP share hosted on a Mac OS X 10.3.9 server I receive a message "Mount Failed, Could not mount volume “sharename.”. This happens when I enter the FQDN followed by the share name, for example "afp://servername.domain.co.uk/sharepoint". The client is part of an Open Directory domain and automounts work fine during boot as the home directory sharepoint works with local and remote homes. I have setup many 10.3.9 servers and have never encountered this issue on a Panther client.
    Any help would be much appreciated and its driving me to distraction!
    Regards
    James.

    We are not using the server for users' home directories, but thanks for that tip.
    Today we have also started having issues at another site with a 10.3.8 server and Tiger clients. The behavior is a little different: when connecting to the Pather server with Tiger clients using a keychain-saved password, the client machine will freeze and must be rebooted. The server is showing no process crashes. Deleting the keychain and entering the password each time fixes the problem.
    At the other site, the server is 10.3.9 and when Tiger clients tried to connect using a keychain password, their machine would get a spinning beach ball, but they could get out of it.

    I am the DBA that installed the remote oracle too so every information are right.Either you are mistaken or Oracle is in error.

    These are the errors: ORA-12154 or ORA-12560 TNS: protocol adapter error.ORA-12154 ALWAYS only occurs on SQL Client & no SQL*Net packets ever leave client system
    ORA-12154 occurs when client requests a connection to some DB server system using some connection string.
    The lookup operation fails because the name provided can NOT be resolved to any remote DB.
    The analogous operation would be when you wanted to call somebody, but could not find their name in any phonebook.
    The most frequent cause for the ORA-12154 error is when the connection alias can not be found in tnsnames.ora.
    The lookup operation of the alias can be impacted by the contents of the sqlnet.ora file; specifically DOMAIN entry.

    Hi,

    I need to connect SQL server 2000 from my oracle client..
    I heard about heterogeneous connectivity ...
    Please expalin me the steps what to add and how to connect the sql server...
    Regs....

    Are you trying to connect to SQL Server from your Oracle database (i.e. create a database link in Oracle to SQL Server)? Or are you trying to connect to SQL Server using your Oracle client software (i.e. SQL*Plus)?
    The former just requires Heterogeneous Services with Generic Connectivity. The latter is functionality that has been depricated and probably no longer works in your environment.

  • Deploying applications on the Admin Server

    Hi there
    I have recently moved to a new project team who have been deploying their applications to the admin server. They have been doing this for years with no issues.
    I was always led to believe that the best practice was to keep the admin server completely separate. And I always deployed to a managed server (or a cluster of servers).
    Does anyone know of any specific reasons why applications should not be deployed to an admin server.
    Thanks in advance.

    Typically, you want your managed servers to focus on applications, and the admin server to focus on management of the servers. If you have your heavy load applications deployed to the admin server, then that impacts both your applications and the management of those applications.
    If your applications are deployed to the managed server, and not the admin server, you can recycle applications remotely just through the admin server console. If you need to restart the application, and it's running on the admin server, then you'll have to take additional steps to get the server running again.

  • Simple question about WLI and admin server

    Hello,
    I have a domain with 3 servers in 2 machines. 2 servers forms the cluster and the other one is the admin server.
    When a process finish, the WLI core execute a setStatus on JMX component of type ProcessConfiguration. This type of component is only deployed (in my installation) in the admin server. So the Integrarion cluster service depends on admin server...if I stop the admin servers all the process invocations fails...
    I have tried to disable the process tracking data using wli console without results...
    How I can disable this behavior?
    Is there any way to deploy this type of component (ProcessConfiguration JMX) in the cluster?
    Thanks

    Hello,
    You can start TOMCAT jsp engine on PC B, it will start on port 8080 on B. And now redirect the requests from Apache in PC A using the mod_rewrite. Look at the following link on how to redirect the requests, give the redirect url as PCB:8080

  • Cannot stop admin server

    Hi all
    I use scripts to stop and start admin server and cluster.
    After include " -Xmanagement:autodiscovery=true,authenticate=false,ssl=false,port=11202" as JVM parameters, I cannot stop the admin server using stopWebLogic.sh.
    If I stop from console it works.
    This error seems a port conflict when trying to start a new JVM to stop Adminserver...

    Could not create the Java virtual machine.
    Done

    This is because the process to stop the JVM is also trying to use the same host/port combination for the remote JRockit monitoring as the same setDomainEnv script is likely called in either case. What you want to do is ignore those options when launching the JVM (the WLST script) that tells the server to shut down.
