Deployment and configuration of MVC framework
Guys,
I have a scenario where I need to deploy one of PHP MVC framework and use Oracle 10g web forms back end queries .
Have anyone done anything similar ? Appreciate if you people give me some ideas considering me as a new bee to oracle 10g forms .
Thanks

There's a framework here for MVC generically, how you're going to craft them into the forms ... well that's a thought. I'm not sure how that might be done. My generic guess is: You'll have to generate the web form and then write your own integration script or manually integrate the code.

Automating custom software deployment and configuration for multiple nodes
Hello everyone.
Essentially, the question I'd like to ask is related to the automation of software package deployments on Solaris 10.
Specifically, I have a set of software components in tar files that run as daemon processes after being extracted and configured in the host environment. Pretty much like any server side software package out there, I need to ensure that a list of prerequisites are met before extracting and running the software. For example:
* Checking that certain users exists, and they are associated with one or many user groups. If not, then create them and their group associations.
* Checking that target application folders exist and if not, then create them with pre-configured path values defined when the package was assembled.
* Checking that such folders have the appropriate access control level and ownership for a certain user. If not, then set them.
* Checking that a set of environment variables are defined in /etc/profile, pointed to predefined path locations, added to the general $PATH environment variable, and finally exported into the user's environment. Other files include /etc/services and /etc/system.
Obviously, doing this for many boxes (the goal in question) by hand will certainly be slow and error prone.
I believe a better alternative is to somehow automate this process. So far I have thought about the following options, and discarded them for one reason or another.
1. Traditional shell scripts. I've only troubleshooted these before, and I don't really have much experience with them. These would be my last resort.
2. Python scripts using the pexpect library for analyzing system command output. This was my initial choice since the target Solaris environments have it installed. However, I want to make sure that I'm not reinveting the wheel again :P.
3. Ant or Gradle scripts. They may be an option since the boxes also have Java 1.5 enabled, and the fileset abstractions can be very useful. However, they may fall short when dealing with user and folder permissions checking/setting.
It seems obvious to me that I'm not the first person in this situation, but I don't seem to find a utility framework geared towards this purpose. Please let me know if there's a better way to accomplish this.
I thank you for your time and help.Configuration Management is a big topic today with a few noteworthy alternatives for Solaris:

How to deploy and configure custom JAAS login module
Dear Experts,
I have created a custom jaas login module, In my .jar I am having
1. MyLoginModule.class
2. Handler.class
3. MyPrincipal.class
I want to know how to deploy the custom jaas module to oc4j. And make available to all
other application to use the same for authentication & authorization. Please suggest me.
Thanks,
Rajesh AThis article does not mention that you can put the <jazn-loginconfig> tag into the orion-application.xml as well.
Much easier to deploy and test.

Best practice for .war? Configure and deploy or deploy and configure?
In Apache Tomcat for example, I can deploy an app, stop the server, reconfigure the app in situ, then start the server again...
Is this recommended for deploying Java web apps to Oracle App Server 10g?
We currently have a consulting firm that is recommending to configure the web app before deploying. Sounds reasonable, except that they want this done via JDeveloper so that the Sys Admin can right click on the "deploy to OAS" button (ie: have the tools generate the .war file after configuration and deploy automagically).Thanks for your feedback.
Are you aware of any way to use the *.deploy configuration file that is created by JDeveloper in an ANT script to create the .war or .ear file?
If not, I can picture the Sys Admin and developers groaning when they're told that they're JDeveloper web-app configuration cannot be used for production -- and that they must somehow duplicate that functionality in an ANT script!
I do have the below ANT scripts from Debu to do the deployment etc. But they only help after the .ear is built.
EAR file deployment:
<target name="deploy" depends="core">
<java jar="${j2ee.home}/admin.jar" fork="yes">
<arg value="${oc4j.deploy.ormi}"/>
<arg value="${oc4j.deploy.username}"/>
<arg value="${oc4j.deploy.password}"/>
<arg value="-deploy"/>
<arg value="-file"/>
<arg value="${this.build}/${this.ear}"/>
<arg value="-deploymentName"/>
<arg value="${this.application.name}"/>
</java>
</target>
Web application binding:
<target name="bind-web-app" depends="deploy">
<java jar="${j2ee.home}/admin.jar" fork="yes">
<arg value="${oc4j.deploy.ormi}"/>
<arg value="${oc4j.deploy.username}"/>
<arg value="${oc4j.deploy.password}"/>
<arg value="-bindWebApp"/>
<arg value="${this.application.name}"/>
<arg value="${this.war}"/>
<arg value="http-web-site"/>
<arg value="/${this.uri}"/>
</java>
</target>
Undeployment:
<target name="undeploy" depends="init">
<java jar="${j2ee.home}/admin.jar" fork="yes">
<arg value="${oc4j.deploy.ormi}"/>
<arg value="${oc4j.deploy.username}"/>
<arg value="${oc4j.deploy.password}"/>
<arg value="-undeploy"/>
<arg value="${this.application.name}"/>

ADFS Deployment and Configuration Query
Hi All,
I have 2 questions that I am hoping you can help me with:-
1. Can I install the ADFS Proxy Server Role on a Server that is already a federation server?
2. When adding a manual relying party trust, this article mentions the importing of a certificate. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn486828.aspx. What certificate is it referring too?

Integration Services 2012 - Parameters and configuration management
Our organization has implemented the project deployment model and it works great! It helps has helped us standardize deployment and configuration management. The big plus for us is the fact that we can now run reports on all SSIS
package configurations. There is one challenge though that we have come across. We haven’t found a good way to reuse the same ssis package while passing different parameters from different jobs and still be able to keep the configured parameter
values for each job documented in SSIDB; if you configure each job to pass different parameter values to the same package, the parameters are actually saved under the the job step’s command. The challenge is that there isn’t a clean way to retrieve
those parameters from msdb, unless someone out there has been able to? We need to retrieve the configured values to be able to build a report on all jobs and packages which contain all configured values. This makes our jobs easier when troubleshooting
a problem.
The only work around we have found is to simply create two different packages, one for each job. I have a problem with not being able to reuse a package from a conceptual stand point. I am sure there is someone out there that has come up with a
good solution. Can you please share it?
thank you,
Juan.If I understand you correctly, you may be able to get what you want from catalog.execution_parameter_values catalog view

Network health check and configuration advise
I need to do this with a network with 200 router and switches. Does anybody have suggestion on how to approach this with software?
thanksThe Cisco product for this would be Cisco Prime LMS which is provided with purchases of Cisco Prime infrastructure. If you're brand new to network management though I wouldn't recommend taking on its deployment and configuration on your own as it is a pretty complex product and requires its own dedicated server.

How to deploy coldfusion as mvc framework from server standpoint?.
Does anyone know how to deploy mvc framework from server
standpoint?. I have all my business logic as cfcs but I want to
move them to different server so that my cfm code is in one server
and my cfcs are in another. Has anyone done this or point me in the
right direction?.Marc E wrote:

Actually that's exactly the way we have our new high
availability
environment configured. All the code runs off an EMC device.
Not sure
why I didn't draw this parallel yesterday with running the
CFML on one
server and the CFCs on another server--as long as you have a
sufficiently fast network (we're on gigabit) and
device/drives (our
stuff is fiber channel), then as you mention below
performance probably
isn't an issue. I'd be curious if doing this over 100 megabit
with more
low-end hardware would perform as well as having things on a
local
drive, however.

Yep, very true, and although the NAS/DAS device isn't
*directly*
accessible via the web, remember that's it's accessible by
the user
that's being used by the web site users, so there isn't a
huge security
benefit here vs. having the code locally. You're absolutely
right

non-web-accessible machine.
Yeah, this is where we head was earlier in the
discussion--putting the
CF "pages" on one server and the CFCs on another just seemed
a bit wacky
to me.

Right, this is what we do on our production environment but
we don't
even use a CF mapping (though you could). We just point our
web server
to the EMC device and everything else just falls into place,
provided
you've set up the user CF and your web server process (or
using "connect
as" in IIS in W2K3) are running as so they have access to the
network
storage device.

True, good point. We have extremely good performance (might
even be
*faster* than local drive speed) with our EMC device, and
again I'm not
sure why I didn't see this parallel yesterday in the
discussions. Blame
it on a very hectic week. ;-)

Oracle Enterprise Manager Agent deployment (Installation and Configuration) Error
Hello,
I am trying to create an agent on a linux server using Oracle Enterprise Manager 12.1.0.3. The user is created with root privilege on the server, by change /etc/sudoers entry username the same as the root entry. After that I tried to add host target by clicking Setup->Add Target->Add target Manually->Add Host Targets in the Oracle Enterprise Manager.
In the Add Target view: I clicked on add, then I entry host and platform information. After that I click next. Then I provided the Linux x86-64 : Installation Details for
Installation Base Directory, Instance Directory, Name Credential ... then click next. then click Deploy Agent.
In the Add Host Status view: stages Initialization and Remote Prerequisite Check successfully passed, but in the stage Agent Deployment, it failed in the Installation and Configuration phrase of the Agent Deployment stage.
The log content is shown below. There are numerous SEVERE Errors. But I don't have much experience in dealing with these type of problems. I thank you in advance for all the helps.

“This happen if the software library is not accessible, readable or unmounted (if it is in shared file system).”
On Enterprise Manager server [nsn175-105], we did the following:
1. we modified /etc/exports to include this line: /export *(rw,no_root_squash,sync)
we start nfs service by executing command “service nfs start”.
On Management Agent server (nsn175-89), we verified that we are able to mount /export directory of EM server.
On Management Agent server, we started firefox browser and were able to run successfully https://nsn175-105.us.oracle.com:4904/empbs/genwallet
After making this change, we ran agent deployment again. We encountered the same error as shown above.

For fixing the software library, select Setup->Provision and Patching->Offline Patching, then select Offline Patching radio button, download: https://updates.oracle.com/download/em_catalog.zip. Next upload this zip file.

We are not sure what agent bits are. Would you please explain this and provide procedure how we can download this?

Hello all,
I have a multi-tenant environment in SharePoint 2010 server. Different tenants are hosted by one web app.
One content source has been created to crawl the all shared environment. (the only URL added in the content source settings = URL of the
web app)
Crawl everything under the hostname for each start address has been selected when creating this content source.
Now I have created a new tenant hosted by the same web app. For this new tenant I want to have a different crawl schedule. Simple , I just create a new content source and add the host URL of this tenant. With the same settings has the other content source.
After having started a full crawl I get 0 success and 1 warning : “This URL is part of a host header SharePoint deployment and the search application is not configured to crawl
individual host header sites. This will be crawled as a part of the host header Web application if configured as a start address.”
The first content source is well crawling the new tenant freshly created. Could you tell me where I’m wrong?
Thanks in advance
Regards
BaldoBaldo,
In the configuration that you described you now have 2 content sources set to crawl the same content. If you have a content source with a start address of http://servername/ then it is going to crawl everything past that address. If you are now changing
the crawl schedule based on the individual site collections, you will need to move your start addresses further down the URL.
For Example:
1st Content Source:
http://servername/ as a start address would now become
http://servername/site1
http://servername/site2
2nd Content Source:
http://servername/site3
Also remember that all crawling must happen on the default zone. If you are trying to crawl a zone that the web application has been extended into, that will not work.

So we just got a new Macbook and I also installed the apple configurator tool. I'm using it to prepare the iPads for deployment and it won't let me prepare them? It gets an error stating "retrieving iOS info from apple" then it stops and says "internet error". My Internet connection is fine with the Mac-book. It shows the iPad is listed under the Prepare logo up top as 1 but under supervise none are shown. Although it does show itself in iTunes. Also the profile I created is fresh and has no errors. We have tryed nearly everything I cna think of and online forums are not giving us to much info on this error.
A wag at this. A port issue?
"Apple Push Notification network setup
When MDM servers and iOS devices are behind a firewall, some network configuration may need to take place in order for the MDM service to function properly. To send notifications from an MDM server to Apple Push Notification service, TCP port 2195 needs to be open. To reach the feedback service, TCP port 2196 will need to be open as well. For devices connecting to the push service over Wi-Fi, TCP port 5223 should
be open."

Try it on your home network where there isn't a lot of 'controls' -- network filtering , firewalls, etc.

Can Apple Configurator deploy and modify Apple TV iOS 6.0 settings? For instance, what if I wanted to submit a 'reset all settings' command, but not a 'factory restore'?
Did you follow the instructions here:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4367
Pay attention to differences in power connection depending on whether or not you have AppleTV2 or AppleTV 3.
Also some microUSB leads don't seem to work - try another if you can. Disconnect superfluous USB device/hubs too if possible.

Oracle's E-Business suite is moving to a JSF solution. This is really for three main reasons (abbreviated version):
1) JSF is much more focused on the 'view' components. The component model has a clean separation of the component definition from its rendering. This, among many other things, allows us to provide a consistent development environment and APIs for developers building apps for browsers, mobile devices, telnet devices, etc.
2) JSF has a better defined lifecycle. The JSF lifecycle maps much closer to the phases that enterprise applications need when processing data from a web application. We are able to easily extend this to add things not currently in the spec, like portlets, wireless, etc., as well as more easily plug new components into the framework.
3) Once you remove the JSP tags & FormBean from Struts, all you are left with is the navigation. There is nothing special in the Struts navigation that would cause us to try to make the two technologies work together. In fact, the Faces navigation will not be robust enough in its current form to support the declarative navigation requirements for Oracle apps. We plan to extend the JSF navigation and then work to submit that back into the standards.
Hope this helps,
Ted Farrell

Hi All,
an interesting document:
Service Deployment and Service Configuration within the Internet of Things
Best regards,
Andy.Hello Marek,
I suppose you are not planning to do any kinds of advanced config using several VLANs and multiple SSIDs so let's just make your configuration simple and working.
In short, you need to remove all references to VLAN 1 and to any subinterfaces possibly related to the VLAN 1. This means in particular (follow these steps in sequence):
Remove the Dot11Radio0.1 subinterface entirely
In the Dot11Radio0 section, remove the encryption vlan 1 mode ciphers tkip command
In the dot11 ssid ciscowifi section, remove the vlan 1 command
After performing these steps, make sure that the ssid ciscowifi and encryption mode commands are still present in the Dot11Radio0 configuration, and if not, reenter them.
Best regards,

Mvc framework and stored procedures ?
Is it possible to keep high productivity of the mvc framework and still use stored procedures as with Cocobase, Castor,etc?
Thank you in advance.If your question is, "Can the Business Components for Java J2EE Framework easily use stored procedures as datasources?"
The answer is yes. See the sample that we ship in the .\BC4J\samples\StoredProc directory.
If you're meaning the Oracle9i MVC Framework for J2EE which is produced by Oracle Consulting, then it's best to ask the question the "Project Cleveland" forum here on the OTN forum.
thanks.
