Deployment error when using several ejb-jar files

Hello All,
I am having problems with deployment of my J2EE application. My EAR file has several EJB-JARs, one for each entity bean. However I refer to the other EJBs in one EJB. Hence I included the <ejb-ref> element in the deployment descriptor of the entity bean. But I am getting the deployment error that "the bundle does not contain the bean name". I tried to change the <ejb-name> value (within the <ejb-ref> element) to the JNDI name of the EJB I am referring to, and also added the <ejb-link> tag specifying the location of the JAR file that has the EJB. None of the attempts worked.
Can someone help me out on how I am supposed to go about when I have several ejb-jar files as opposed to a single one? I am deploying my app on Sun ONE AS 7.0.
Thank you,

Hello,
Thanks for the response. I have got both Local and Remote EJB References, but for the JAR (where the ejbc compiler stopped) that I have an error, it is the local reference.

    Hi ,
It would help if you could post the relevant snippets of your
ejb-jar.xml. In general, you definitely shouldn't use jndi-name
for any of the linking information. jndi-name is not part of the
standard deployment descriptor. The syntax for the ejb-link is
    [ejb-jar uri]#ejb-name

    Hi,
I am getting the following error while deploying my EJB3 application on Weblogic 10.3.0. This is happening only if I include ejb-jar.xml.
As per the EJB3 descriptor spec, Remote Home or Local home are not exists.
Is this a issue in Weblogic 10.3.0 or am I missing any special setup ?

  • Deploy Error when using Stateful Session Bean inside Webdynpro

    Hi,
I'm trying to create a webdynpro project that uses a stateful session bean
I have created DC's for a EJB Module project, Enterprise Application and Webdynpro component. Created the bean, built it, added it's package to the public part, added the EJB Module to the EAR project. Built the EAR project. Added the EJB Module project and Enterprise Application project as a used DC in the Webdynpro DC.
In the Webdynpro DC I added com.sap.archive-packaging.default.update-descriptors=true in the build.properties file of the cfg directory. (using the navigator view) That resolved an error while building it.
Deployed the Enterprise Application DC without problems.
Tried to deploy the Webdynpro DC but I get the following error:

    Default is 30mts.
This is done as a parameter in orion-ejb-jar.xml. Please look at the EJB Guide at http://otn.oracle.com/docs/products/ias/doc_library/903doc_otn/generic.903/a97677/dtdxml.htm#634197 for details

  • Error when running an executable jar file

    Hi
I created a java application with a main method in one of the classes and through eclipse exported it as a jar file to run as a standalone application on another machine. In this application, I used a jar file sqljdbc.jar by referencing to it in the application. So I set the jar file's location in the classpath on the other machine and ran the application on the command prompt.
java -jar myapplication.jar. But I get an error "java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver".
I am not sure what else could be done. Thanks and appreciate any help on this.

Do you mean you set the system Classpath on the other computer? When you use "java -jar" the only Classpath that is used is the Class-Path inside the jar's manifest.
You need to either use the Class-Path in the manifest of myappication.jar to include the sql jar, or use "java -cp myapplication.jar;microsoftsql.jar TheMainClass" (use : instead of ; for *nix computers)

  • Error when trying to load jar file (loadjava)

I have been struggling with this issue for a few days. I read all the old threads and solutions online but none of them worked. I wrote some java stored procedures and have been trying to load the required jar files. The error message I keep getting is this:
ORA-29532: Java call terminated by uncaught Java exception: oracle.aurora.server.tools.loadjava.ToolsError: Error during loadjava: Failures occurred during processing. Check trace file for details
I have tried to load them using Enterprise Manager Console and the following:
    call dbms_java.loadjava(' -force -resolve
    c:\javacog\cognosClient.jar', ' -resolver "((* PUBLIC) (*
    SYS) )"')
Any ideas? We are using Oracle 10gr2, and trying to load Cognos 8.3 SDK jar files. According to Cognos, Java 1.4 is supported.
    Edited by: user10406501 on Oct 8, 2008 2:26 PM

Sorry to respond to an old message, I was just looking for the solution for the totally different problem.
Key word 'Cognos' got me here.
I've menage to load Cognos SDK onto Oracle 10.2.0.2 on Windows XP.
I've used simple loadjava script. After that it requires some additional GRANTs, and it works.
If you still are looking for the solution for this problem, respond to this message, and I'll post the scripts.

  • Keep getting errors when trying to open JAR files

    Hi
My son is trying to open a .jar on his Macbook to add a mod to Minecraft.  It throws an error and directs him to Console each time, but Console isn't showing any errors.  Using advice on a couple of similar threads I followed some steps but ended up at a dead end.
The Terminal message I get when I follow the steps in another thread is this:

    Hi Eric.
I am referring to the main  Console.  I don't see anything in Java Console - but the steps I followd in teh other thread yielded that error message from Terminal - it was different from the error in the other thread, which related to out of data Java install.  I have no clue what this is and Google isn't helping me much.
Any light that can be thrown on on this woudl be great

Hi guys, I have the same problem. I have an application EAR file with two modules (EJB and WAR starting in this order). The application can schedule a process via EJB timer. In this case restarting the server I receive the error above. If I change the modules start order --> WAR - EJB the server start correctly, but the application scheduler fails (the persistency is not working) with this error:

  • Problem building EJB jar file using Eclipse

    Hi,
    Here's my file sturcture.
    ejb\x\y\z\test\
    ejb\x\y\z\test1\
    'ejb' is the root directory.
The java source files under 'test' have a package name x.y.z.test.
The java source files under 'test1' have a package name x.y.z.test1.
I want to build a EJB jar file for 'test' and 'test1' separately. In eclipse when I create an EJB project, I specify the root folder as the source in the java build path settings. So the project explorer in Eclipse shows both the packages since they are under the same root folder. When I try to do 'Export - EJB Jar File', it includes both the 'test' and 'test1' in the .jar. Is there a way to build them separately ?
    Thanks,

As far as I know, there is no way in Eclipse to specify a package prefix for a source folder. Assuming that you are not using an operating system with support for symbolic links at FS-level, the only way I can think of solving your problem is via linked folders and includes/excludes.
    1. Create two ejb projects in your workspace. Specify locations somewhere independent of where the root of your source tree is located.
    2. Right click on proj1 and select Properties / Java Build Path / Source.
    3. Click Link Source and specify the location to your source root on disk. Click Next.
    4. In the inclusion patterns section, add a pattern that captures classes appropriate for that module. Click Finish.
    5. Delete the original source directory that was created during project creation before leaving Build Path configuration dialog.
    6. Repeat steps 2-5 on the second project, except specify a different inclusion pattern.
This should produce a project structure that Eclipse will be happy with, but you have to be a little bit careful. Even though you filtered out classes from the view of the java compiler for a particular project, you will still see them listed in the various navigational views (such as Package Explorer or Project Explorer). Don't modify these filtered out files. The project that is supposed to be building them will not react to changes in the other project. Hope this will help you out.

  • How to deploy EJB jar file in Weblogic 8.1

    Hi,
I have created the EJB jar file, bearing home, remote, ejb and client class aling with the META-INF folder containing ejb-jar.xml and weblogic-ejb-jar.xml.
After all this I am confused where to put this EJB jar file so that the container could deploy it.
I am putting it in application folder of my own created Domain.
    Suggest me...

Put it anywhere you like. You can always deploy it using the administrator console. There usually is an auto-deployment directory for the domain. You could find all that information in the Weblogic documentation.

I had saved one copy as an .asp but then resaved it to .xhtml
I'm assuming this is a static web site.  Rename (F2) all your pages with .html or .htm extension.
.xhtml is not a valid extension.

Hello all, we are thinking about migrating from JBoss to WebLogic server, so as a proof of concept I am trying to migrate a JBoss Seam web application to WebLogic server.
I have followed all the instructions here: http://docs.jboss.org/seam/2.0.2.SP1/reference/en-US/html/weblogic.html and I have set up ebvryhting that is needed in order to start the server (JMS queues, datasources, etc) but when the server starts and tries to load the web application I got the following error message

The MyApplication.jar is where we keep all the models and we are using an exploded folder for the ear file. We have declared all the classes to be entities by using the @Entity and @Table annotations and we have also defined an interceptor in the ejb-jar.xml file (shown below).

I have tried to compile everythign from scratch by using weblogic.appc but I am getting the same error: No EJBs found in the ejb-jar file 'ejbModule'. Please ensure the ejb-jar contains EJB declarations via an ejb-jar.xml deployment descriptor or at least one class annotated with the @Stateless, @Stateful or @MessageDriven EJB annotation.
Any ideas what is going on and how I can resolve the issue?

    Hi John,
I am working on development an enterprise application using EJB 3.0 on Weblogic 10.
While developing, I am keeping all my classes (from ejb's as well as web) into APP-INF/classes directory. It is working fine for Web and ejb 2.0 packages, but ejb 3.0 packages, I get the following error when I keep my ejb 3.0 beans classes in APP-INF/classes directory.
No EJBs found in the ejb-jar file 'customer'. Please ensure the ejb-jar contains EJB declarations via an ejb-jar.xml deployment descriptor or at least one class annotated with the @Stateless, @Stateful or @MessageDriven EJB annotation.
One solution is to keep the classes under customer ejb directory, but I wan tto keep all the classes in APP-INF/classes directory so that when using Eclipse IDE I can output all compiled sources into APP-INF/classes directory.
Has anyone faced this situation? Any suggestions to fix this issue?
