Deployment of JDeveloper Application
Hi Gurus;
i have a question for u people, first understand the use case:
1. I have an application developed in Jdeveloper
2. Application comprises on hundreds of .jspx pages and business components.
3. Database is used Oracle 11g.
4. Application is deployed on Weblogic Server.
Problem :
A user requests to make some changes in some .jspx form which is currently the part of deployed application. too many users are working with application.
i make the changes in .jspx form and at this point i want to upload this form in weblogic however the application deployed is packaged. please guide me how i can deploy the new form. is there a need to redeploy the application? if so what will be the status of connected and working users?
What type of authentication are you using for your application? If you configure the following
<jazn provider="XML" location="../../config/jazn-data.xml" default-realm="jazn.com" persistence="ALL"></jazn>in orion-application.xml then your users need to exist in the referenced jazn-data.xml file, but it's more usual on 10gAS to configure something like this
<jazn provider="LDAP">
<jazn-web-app auth-method="SSO"/>
</jazn>In which case the users need to exist in the OID.
Hope this helps a little!

Please help me about jdeveloper application deployment for weblogic
At the beginning I just thought after developing an adf application then just deploy it as a .ear file and deploy it in the weblogic console and everything will be ok.But in fact I got a lot of problems. Then I got a tutorial for that and I do what it said step by step but some new problems occured. This is the tutorial I mentioned: [How-To: ADF Deployment Guide|http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/jdeveloper/howto/11114/managedserver/wlsadfms.htm]
Now could somebody tell how did you deploy your adf application?
Here is the errors I got.
This is the install packege and the OS I use:
1. CentOS 6.3_x64 + jdeveloper11123.jar(include wls10.3.5) + adr(package name is ofm_appdev_generic_11.1.1.6.0_disk1_1of1.zip)[and just now I used a solaris11 vm from oracle and install jdeveloper11.1.2.3, the same probem occured as in CentOS.]
2. Win7_x64 + jdeveoper11123.exe(include wls10.3.5) + adr mentioned above
Here is the problems I get:
in the case 1,after I install the jdeveloper(using sun jdk 1.7), the weblogic seems to be well though I didn't configure a domain. But after I open an
application(which I get from the oracle jdeveloper tutorial demo, which works well in my Win7 env) and I run it, the integrated weblogic can't get
started. Firstly in the console it said the -jrocket identifier is not recognized, then I modify the setDomainEnv.sh and the startWebLogic.sh file in the
integrated wls domain (the one in the .jdeveloper directer) to set the JAVA_VM variable to -server.After that another problem came out: when the
wls goes to status "starting",it is blocked and I turn to the system monitor it shows that a java thread using more than 1GB of memory of my system
and occupy 150% of my cpu(it's a double-core computer). I wait for about 5 minutes when a error came said "PermSize is too small".then I modify the
setDomainEnv.sh file again to set the PermSize to be 1024m and MaxPermSize to be 2048.(the variable name is something like that, maybe not the
exactly right. I think you can understand which one it is.) But the problem is still there.
then in the case 2.Firstly the jdev and the integrated wls works well, but when i deploy an application which works well to a ear file and deploy it to a
standalone wls(10.3.5) it never works.the error is something referrence/dependences libraries is not found. Then I tried to new a server connection to
the standalone wls and I got the tutorial [how_to_deploy_adf|http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/jdeveloper/howto/11114/managedserver/wlsadfms.html] , as the tutorial said I patch my standalone
wls with the adr and everything goes ok, no error reported. Then I tried the new server in the new machine under the manage of the adminserver and apply the
adf template in the localhost:port/em console. But after I restart the new server(by the console and then by the stop+startweblogic.bat file) the server is running
while the application in the new server is just "Unavailable". I tried this for three times in three computer, two of them are running win7,the other one is running winxp.
I don't know what is wrong and I am totally a newbie about this. Somebody please help me.Thanks a lot!
regard,Neo.Neo,
there are a couple of problems. First of all, jdev comes with it'S own jdk bundled in the product (jdk 1.6_x). Next thing is if you use JDev 11.1.2.3.0 to build an application you must use a wls 10.3.5 or 10.3.6 where you need to install the correct runtime onto. In your case you first install adf runtime 11.1.1.6.0 and then you need to install two patches which update the adf runtime to 11.1.2.3.0. These spathes are only available via support.oracle.com, meaning you need asupport contract to get them.
More information you can find in my blog http://tompeez.wordpress.com/2011/09/14/jdeveloper-versions-vs-weblogic-server-versions/
The rest of your problems go away once you have installed the right adf runtime on your server.

Error after deploying a JSP Application developed with jdeveloper
Hi there
Running Oracle Enterpride Edition 8.1.7
including Oracle Http webserver
I'm trying to run a JSP application developed with Jdeveloper
through the oracle http server included in
Oracle Enterpride Edition 8.1.7
Think I have modified alle the .conf files correctly
I get the message :
"Error Message: java.lang.RuntimeException: JSP Registry could not locate runtime property file:ORDERS_ORDERS_PKG_ORDERS_PKGModule.properties"
Of course I know ,this file should be deployed as well. I have done this.
Any ideas what's wrong ?
Or can anyone point me to a (proper) document that decribes (correctly and completely) alle the steps that need to be done ?
Many Thanxs
Regards TJ
nullYep, I had the same problem deploying from JDeveloper 9.3.1, followed:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/howtos/10g/adf_runtime_update_howto.html
and it works! thanks for the clue! (now I only have to find out what ADF is now!)

Please need Help with web application deployment in Jdeveloper 12c
Hi,
I am desperate for help guys. am trying to deploy a web application in weblogic server, but nothing works!!
I created a project in jdeveloper and created a jsp page inside the project, all what i want is to run that page!
I followed the instruction here: Deploying Fusion Web Applications , I don't really know if i did it right or wrong, the document is too detailed and not understood clearly.
I am a newbie oracle user, and trying to build jsp web application connected to oracle database. application deployment fails it says: cannot run application error deploying IntegratedWeblogic..
please could you tell me the steps of application deployment in Jdeveloper 12c?
what deployment profiles I need to create (ear, war , mar)?
what deployment descriptor I need for my app to work?
please guys I am newbie to oracle, if you could give me simplified answers and straight instructions it will be appreciated .
thank youhi Timo,
I am building a local web application, meaning the server is internal and will not connect to the web, only to local pcs via network. the application will insert/select data from the database server. My company wants to embed oracle technology on the datatabse and that what am trying to. I am not that expert in java and oracle in general, my main knowledge are in php, html and mysql programming. through my long internet research a lot has recommended jsp with html to be a good choice.
At beginning I played around with ADF faces, I found it annoying because I prefer coding than using drag and drop interfaces, which always create unwanted results.
Also am not that professional java programmer, i started learning jsp and found it easier.
What I am thinking of is to make a web based application that works in browsers (like php), this application has forms to insert data, and also has forms to output data for printing. that's all. I tried to make it in php, but through my little knowledge and internet researches it seems php does not work with oracle and java is the recommended choice (or it works with php but too complicated to make it)
any recommendation will be much appreciated
thank you -
hello i need easy way to deploy my jsf applications to tomcat .
i create an application server configuration in my JDeveloper now what ? how can i say to deploy the app to tomcat not to oracle application server.
another question :
the "deploy operation" must copy jsf , adf implementations jstl standartd common* and other jars to my tomcat project automaticly and it MUST make classes dir to be in WEB-INF\classes instead of project main.Hi,
These steps worked for me:
(I assume you successfully created the server configuration)
1) Select your project and then go to Run --> Deploy --> New Deployment Profile
Select WAR file, OK,
Give a name and select a directory,
in the WAR Deployment Profile Properties page, choose the Target Connection in the "Profile" section.
2) Now the deployment profile must be ready.
Select your project and then go to Run --> Deploy --> your new profile.
This should deploy the project to Tomcat.
I saw all needed jars deployed as well. Maybe you should check if all the jars are selected in the "Export" column, in the Project Properties --> Libraries section.
For the last question, in Project Properties --> Project Content, change your output directory to WEB-INF\classes.

How to test and deploy a BPEL application in JDeveloper?
Hi guys!
I'm trying to use the cue card overview (step 4) to test and deploy a BPEL application.
I'm using the new version o JDeveloper Preview (10.1.3.1.0) and when a click in "Launch the Create Integration Server Connection wizard" it asks me about Application Server, host name and port number. What I should fill in? Should I start BPEL process manager outside JDeveloper to start testing?
In the wizard of "Create Application Server Connection" (step 2 of 4: Authentication) it asks me about username (which is filled with oc4jadmin) and Password. What password I shout use here?
Finally, in the step 3 of 4 (Connection) the wizard asks me about host name and RMI port, what I should fill in?
Any help will be appreciateYou need an istance of a BPEL server to test this.
So download the SOA Suite Developer Preview and install on your machine - this will provide you with a server you can test BPEL on.

Mass ADF Application Deployment using JDeveloper
I really hope there is a simple answer for this...
I have a 'suite' of Oracle ADF applications (they use ADF Faces + ADF Business Components + JHeadstart technology) that I would like to mass-deploy / mass-redeploy to our Oracle Application Server 10g (10.1.3).
What is the easiest solution that will let me just say "GO!" and thus deploy all 17 individual web applications to the server? For the longest time I have been just individually deploying each application through each individual WAR Deployment Profile (*.deploy) that each application has. Now, I need a less tedious way to perform this maintenance.
Thanks.Hi,
Are you using the ANT/JDev integration to do this? I've never tried it, but in the last part of the video http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/viewlets/1013/agile_development_viewlet_swf.html it seems like there are deployment tasks available in the integrated ANT with JDeveloper.
Sorry I can't provide any specific insights - perhaps someone else has done this?

Deployment of JSP application developed using Jdeveloper
Is it Possible to deploy/implement JSP Application developed using Jdeveloper and its Application Module, View object etc. , without using an Application Server, such has hosting at the ISP servers, but having Oracle as the back end ?
Either you or your ISP will have to have a java enabled application server.

Remote Deployment from JDeveloper using "Parent Application"
Hi,
I am newbie in remote deployment (from JDeveloper). I would like to deploy my application in the OAS 10g, but I want to set the "Parent Application" in a different value than default.
Is it possible?
Where could I find documentation of remote deployment alternatives (I cannot use the "dcmctl" command directly for security reasons)...
Best regards and thank you in advance for your help.Check out this thread.

We did the application using ADF and EJB3.0 in JDeveloper11g relese and this application is working fine when i run in the JDeveloper release. When i try to deploy the same application in weblogic 10.3(Which I downloded and installed) i am getting following error.
shared library "adf.oracle.domain" could not be found.
Can any one tell me, what the problem is?
Thanking you,

OC4J deployment from jdeveloper RC2
I have downloaded and installed the Jdeveloper rc2 with accompanying BI Beans, and I have completed a BI Beans tutorial, except for the last step: Deploying a JSP Application.
The JSP run fine in the embedded OC4J environment, my problem is when deploying it to my IAS server.
I have downloaded the oc4j_extended.zip from 25. march, installed it on my solaris 2.8 server where my oracle 9.0.1.2 databases are running, and started it with:
"java -Dorg.omg.CORBA.ORBClass=com.inprise.vbroker.orb.ORB -Dorg.omg.CORBA.ORBSingletonClass=com.inprise.vbroker.orb.ORB -jar oc4j.jar &"
as per instructions in the tutorial.
Pointing my browser to http://myhost:8888 gives me the default version 9.0.2.0.0A startup page, with a link to some samples etc..
I am able to run the NumberGuess sample without any errors.
Furthermore, I have followed the instructions and created a deployment profile in my Jdeveloper BIWorkspace, and tested the connection successfully.
Now, when I try to deploy the project, Jdeveloper creates a .ear and .war file locally, but they are never transferred to my oc4j server. Neither has the server.xml file etc. been updated to include my application jsp.
These are the messages from the deployment message window:
Wrote WAR file to C:\ora_misc\jdev9i_rc2\jdev\mywork\BIWorkspace\Project1\webapp.war
Wrote EAR file to C:\ora_misc\jdev9i_rc2\jdev\mywork\BIWorkspace\Project1\webapp.ear
Invoking Oracle9iAS admin tool...
C:\ora_misc\jdev9i_rc2\jdk\jre\bin\javaw.exe -jar C:\ora_misc\jdev9i_rc2\j2ee\home\admin.jar ormi://sunset/ admin **** -deploy -file C:\ora_misc\jdev9i_rc2\jdev\mywork\BIWorkspace\Project1\webapp.ear -deploymentName webapp
My PC chugs along for a while, the stops working, with no error messages.
More worrying is that on the server, in the window that started the oc4j server, the following appear:
java.lang.NullPointerException
at java.io.ObjectInputStream.inputArray(Compiled Code)
at java.io.ObjectInputStream.readObject(Compiled Code)
at java.io.ObjectInputStream.readObject(Compiled Code)
at com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIInputStream.readType(RMIInputStream.java:118)
at com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIConnection.handleMethodInvocation(Compiled Code)
at com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIConnection.run(Compiled Code)
at com.evermind.util.ThreadPoolThread.run(Compiled Code)
Any advice on how to proceed to:
a: Fix the automatic deployment...
b: Deploy manually.
Jens
Ps. The steps I am following can be found in the document: http://otn.oracle.com/docs/products/bib/tutorials/building_a_jsp/9_deploy_JSP.htmlOk, I'm a bit further:
I changed my PATH and CLASS_PATH env. variables to make sure that /usr/j2se is first,
and issued the command
alias java="/usr/j2se/java"
so that java -version now return:
java version "1.3.1_01"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.1_01)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.3.1_01, mixed mode)The nullPointer exception on the server node has now disappeared, and the deployment completes, but with errors.
The file webapp.ear is copied to the applications directory, and the jdeveloper deployment log window contains the following:
Wrote WAR file to C:\ora_misc\jdev9i_rc2\jdev\mywork\BIWorkspace\Project1\webapp.war
Wrote EAR file to C:\ora_misc\jdev9i_rc2\jdev\mywork\BIWorkspace\Project1\webapp.ear

Error: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError

#### Deployment incomplete. #### Apr 30, 2002 1:15:20 PM
A little more background info:
The OC4J server is invoked on my oracle db-server, a sunfire V880 dual cpu and 4Gig ram.
Of course, running Oracle, this server has been optimised for shared memory, so could it be that I need to change my /etc/system settings to leave more ram available?
Or could it be that the OutOfMemoryError is just the symptom of an underlying cause?
Any hints would be welcomed.
Thanks,

I have ran other non-JSF applications prior to trying to deploy this application.
Any help is very much appreciated
Thanx

Partially populating an object from XML data
I have an unpopulated object which I intend to fill on-demand by grabbing several XML files via HTTP. I'm not sure how best to deal with this in Java - at present I keep a set of booleans to describe what information is present, and update these as I
