Deployment Presentation Services Project (OTN's Jdeveloper Tutorial Pages )

http://bderzhavets.blogspot.com/2006/02/deployment-presentation-services.html

Hi ,
I've had that error as well,
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.apache.struts.action.RequestProcessor
The error was in the XML parse of struts-config.xml (tag mismatch) as a result of which the servlet could not be initialized.
Check the log files of your OC4J, see if you can find an error in there.

  • How to Create and Deploy Web Services Using Oracle 9i JDeveloper

    Hi,
    My Question is how to create and deploy Web Services using Oracle 9i JDeveloper.Anybody please give me a detailed Reply.Please Reply to [email protected]
    Hopr to Hear From you,
    Regards,
    G Sreekumar

    You could use datasources. You should do this in your BC4J Configuration. Then when deploying your applicaiton use the command -installDataSource (from admin.jar) to create the right datasource.
    You could probably use the name of your connection + "DS" so you can also use it locally in JDeveloper as JDev seesm to create this automaticly for your Connections.

  • Error message at jdeveloper tutorial page

    Hi,
    when I logged in with the OTN user id I tried to open the jdeveloper tutorial page "Database Development with JDeveloper" (http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe1013jdev/dbdevelopment/obe_%20dbasedevmt.htm) and there I got the message "You do not have sufficient privileges to perform this operation. (WWC-41415)".
    What does it mean? What priviliges do I need? The other tutorial pages can be opened without problem.
    Regards,
    Toni

    The problem is solved. The correct url must be: http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe1013jdev/dbdevelopment/obe_dbasedevmt.htm.

  • Deploying Analysis Services Project Failed to encrypt sensitive information

    Hi!
     I had a problem on a server when trying to implement a project analysis services and I get the
    error:
    "Failed to encrypt sensitive information. Perhaps the encryption key is inaccessible due to incorrect change the service account"
    I have no idea how to solve this problem and where to get it.
    can anybody help me?
    Thanks in advance...
    Akala

    The package was probably created with the
    default protection level "EncryptSesntitiveWithusrKey" by somebody else than who logged in to the machine to install.
    If you deploy it by importing to MSDB/SSISDB then it needs to be set to "ServerStorage".

  • Separating obiee server and presentation services via Web Logic Server

    Hello,
    I'm attempting to Install OBIEE Server 11.1.1.3.0 on Linux (box A). I also am installing Web Logic Server 10.3.3 on Linux (box B) with the plan of deploying presentation services on WLS.
    I originally did the following:
    1. setup Repositoyr using RCU
    2. Installed OBIEE 11.1.1.3.0 using Enterprise Option.
    3. Installed WLS 10.3.3
    4. Began following this doc: http://www.obieetalk.com/deploying-obi-presentation-services-weblogic
    ---and the following questions arose as I was going through those steps:
    a. when I start up the Weblogic configuration wizard. I get to step 8 and it asks me to configure the Administration Server.
    --is that the Weblogic Server(box B)?
    b. It then asks me to configure Managed Servers.
    --That is the Weblogic Server, correct(box B)?
    I skipped Configuring Clusters.
    c. It then asks to Configure Machines.
    --I'm not sure what to put here.
    **I then proceeded to open up an SR and was given a "Here's the install guide" as a 'Solution Offered'.
    Oracle then came back with you need to do a "Software Only" install of OBIEE
    --On Box A or B? Because when I do that it asking where the WebLogic Server / Middleware Home is located.
    So, I'm asking
    1. do I do Enterprise, Simple or Software Only on Box A?
    2. Install WLS first, and then follow the document( http://www.obieetalk.com/deploying-obi-presentation-services-weblogic ) on how to deploy the Presentation Services?
    3. Which will lead me back to these questions:
    a. when I start up the Weblogic configuration wizard.
    Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
    Is this the only error that you got in log files. Can you change the presentation catalog name and give it a try. Kill all the services. Start OC4J and then start the services.

  • Error while opening presentation services

    Hi,
    Currently we have a requirement that OBIEE be installed on a environment where we have OAS as the web application server. Before doing it on the environment, I decided to do the installation on the local system.
    As per the process, first I installed the OAS 10g. During the installation process I have selected the option of 'Advanced Install' as I do not need the BPEL, ESB and others. In the Advanced installation, i have selected the installation type as
    J2EE server and Web server (476 MB)
    Installs and configures Oracle container for J2EE (OC4J), includes HTTP server with SSL support, Oracle Enterprise Manager Application server Control and the Oracle process Manager and Notification Server (OPMN).
    Once I am done with the installation, then I installed OBIEE using 'Advanced Install' option and I have provided the path for the OAS.
    Now when I try to launch the presentation services, I get the error that 'Page cannot be displayed'.
    From the OAS, I tried to launch the console also and I get the same error.
    Can anyone please let me know if I am missing anything like port configuration?
    Thanks

    Hi friend,
    in next link, you have the solution to your problem:

  • Error in deploying OBIEE 10.1.3.4.2 BI Presentation Service on WAS6.1

    Hi,
    I am working on environment setup using OBIEE suite version 10.1.3.4.2 on a UNIX (AIX6.1 platform) system (which is a remote machine for me).
    Installation of OBIEE 10g suite (all components) on AIX server is completed, and ever the BI server and BI Presentation Server (PS) services are running on the system.
    IBM WAS6.1 is being used as the web application server to connect to BI presentation server from my local desktop (windows 7 platform).
    Both BI PS and WAS6.1 are installed on the same AIX system. Hence, the OBIEE_HOME/web/app/WEB-INF/web.xml file has host name as localhost and port number as 9710.
    I am facing issue in configuring the WAS6.1 to support the BI Presentation services. Steps involved in the config are –
    1. Deploy the analytics.war file from OBIEE_HOME/web/ using 'Install new enterprise application' option on WAS6.1 admin console.
    2. Context root provided is /analytics
    3. Start WAS Application server
    4. Start OBI Presentation server
    5. Access URL: http://nameserver:port/analytics/saw.dll?Dashboard – this is the test url provided in OBI documentation.
    nameserver is the host name of the AIX server on which both BI PS and WAS6.1 are installed
    Port - this is the HTTP port provided in the configuration details of WAS6.1 profile. ( I am not using 9710 in the url, if that is used, HTTP 404 - address not found error is generated.)
    For step 5 above, I am getting HTTP 500 error while trying to access this URL.
    Error message in SystemOut.log file in WAS6.1_Profile_home/logs/server1/ is as below.
    Can anyone please help in understanding and resolution of this error as well as configuration of BI PS. Thanks.

    Hi Dhar,
    thanks for a quick reply...
    Yes even I thought it is reaching the PS, as the error log mentions error with 'SAWbridge'... but I am not sure how to debug further.
    If it helps, below is a output of checking if the PS is running on the server. But I am not sure if the PS continues runnning once the service is started.
    $ ps -ef | grep sawserver

    I've a small deployment issue which you guys might be able to help me with.
    I've developed an ADF BC JSF project using JHeadstart 10.1.3.2.50 and it was running fine on my self contained OC4J instance. But when I try to deploy it across to my Oracle 10G AS version 10.1.2.0.2., it had the following errors:

    ---- END OF LOG ----
    Has anyone been able to deploy ADF JSF project with JHeadstart using JDeveloper 10.1.3.3.0 to Oracle 10G AS 10.1.2.0.2? I'm using window environment. Any feedback is much appreciated. Thank you for your assistance and have a nice day.
    Kind Regards,
    John

    Hi all,
    I had also tried out something else...
    I am now portalizing the ADF application using PortalFacesBridge and portlet.xml. Then I deploy it on the Local OC4J of my system and expose it as a WSRP Portlet using the url: 'http://hostname:portname/warFileName/info and generating a WSDL URL...
    I am then using this WSDL URL to regester this portalized application on the Oracle Portal10.1.4 which i am able to accomplish successfully...
    However after regestration, when I try to view this on the portal page, It is throwing the following error:-
    Error: Could not get markup. The cookie or session is invalid or there is a runtime exception.
    Also I would like to add that this method was working perfectly fine previously...
    What might be the clue for this sudden error...
    Any kind of help is greatly appriciated... Thanks...

  • How to Deploying Application Which consists .jpr project file in JDeveloper

    Hi,
    I Successfully compiled my application in JDeveloper 11g, My Project consists of .jpr file which loads all the source files. I added this .jpr file to New Application by creating a .jws in JDeveloper.
    When I run my application, I am getting the Deployment Error, How to deploy a project which consists of .jpr as project file in JDeveloper 11g.
    The Same was running in Oracle JDeveloper 10.3.3 version perfectly there the Server was OC4J but Here the Server is WebLogic.

    If the exampleClass1 does have a public method which is called from the main method, when you run it from the command line
    should work like this
    // sample class
    public class ExampleClass1
        // C'tor
        public ExampleClass1 ()
        public void testmethodWith3Params(String aS1, String aS2, String aS3)
            // do the work here
        public static void main(String[] args)
            String p1;
            String p3;
            String p3;
            ExampleClass1 xyz = new ExampleClass1();
            // read the params into p1,p2 and p3
            // omited the code
           // call the worker method
           xyz.testmethodWith3Params(p1,p2,p3);
    // now instead to call the main method you call the workter methos from your web app like
    ExampleClass1 aaa = new ExampleClass1 ();
    aaa.testmethodWith3Params(param1, param2,param3);
    ...If you don't have a method (or don't know it) you can call it via the main method like
    String [] param= {p1,p2,p3};
    ExampleClass1.main(param);Timo

  • Can Jdeveloper 10.1.3 deploy web service on OC4J 10.1.2?

    Hi all,
    Can I use jdeveloper 10.1.3 develop, and deploy web service on OC4J 10.1.2? My jdk version is 1.4.2. Thanks in advance.

    We don't have a direct connection from JDev 10.1.3 to OC4J 10.1.2 - we do have a connection to OAS 10.1.2.
    If you want to deploy to a stand alone OC4J 10.1.2 then just create the WAR file in JDeveloper - and then use the OC4J admin interface to deploy the WAR.

    We cannot deploy Essbase Cubes to shared services projects. The projects are not selectable in the box in the deploy dialog. Help is urgently needed. Our version is 11.1.1.3.
    Many thanks

    Hi,
    It looks like a known issue
    When deploying an Essbase application, the Shared Services project drop-down is not populated as expected. (8239445)

  • Error deploying web service built in JDeveloper to GlassFish

    Hi everyone,
    I tried posting this question to GlassFish forum at java.net but received no response, so I'll give it a shot here...
    I have built a web service from WSDL using JDeveloper (11.1.1.0.5). I tested it succesfully in JDeveloper's embeded WebLogic server. Then I wanted to see what are my options for deploying my web service to production and decided to give GlassFish a try. I installed it on my Windows XP machine and tried to deploy my web service. These are the errors from GlassFish server.log:

    I checked my war file and I can see that inside it I do have WEB_INF as the first (root) directory and below it I have wsdl directory with VegaService.wsdl file that is mentioned. I tried both web administration tool and asadmin command line tool with same results.
    Thanks in advance,

    Is WEB_INF a typo or did you put your wsdl into a folder 'WEB_INF'.
    In this case you should rename the folder to 'WEB-INF'.

  • J2EE 1.4 Tutorial - problems with deploying web services

    Hi folks,
    I have a problem with the deployment of the example "MyHelloService" (chapter 8: Building Web Services With JAX-RPC).
    I've installed the application server properly and executed all the necessary steps written down in the tutorial (Packaging the Service and Specifying the Endpoint Address).
    While deploying the service I get the following error message:

    I verified the deployment descriptor and unpacked the WAR, but there seems to be no mistake. I don't know what to do...I can't imagine that this is a bug, so maybe I've done something wrong.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you for your answer, but I encountered the problem with the defect WAR file already in chapter 3 (Getting Started with Web Applications). I searched the forum and found the thread you recommended, made the adjustments in the deploytool.bat file and so fixed the problem.
    Thus your recommendation is unfortunately not the right solution for my problem.
    For verification purposes, here is an extract from my deploytool.bat file:
    set _USER_COUNTRY=US
    set _USER_LANG=en
    set _USER_REGION=US
    set _MAIN=com.sun.enterprise.tools.deployment.ui.Main

    Test Name : tests.web.ServletLargeIcon
    There are no large-icon elements within the servlet [ helloservice.HelloImpl ].
    Test Name : tests.web.ServletClass
    Servlet class [ helloservice.HelloImpl ] resides in the WEB-INF/classes directory.
    Test Name : tests.web.SessionTimeout
    Servlet session-timeout [ 30 ] element defines the default session timeout interval expressed in whole minutes.
    Test Name : tests.web.ServletInterface
    Not Applicable since, Servlet [ helloservice.HelloImpl ] is a JAXRPC Endpoint.
    Test Name : tests.web.ParamValue
    Test Name : tests.web.ServletSmallIcon
    There are no small-icon elements in the servlet [ helloservice.HelloImpl ].
    Test Name : tests.web.WebName
    Web-App display name is : [ MyHelloService.war ]
    Test Name : tests.web.ServletParamName
    ServletParam name exists in the web application.
    Test Name : tests.web.ResourceAuth
    Test Name : tests.web.ServletParamValue
    Test Name : tests.web.JarContainsXMLFile
    Found deployment descriptor xml file [ WEB-INF/web.xml ]All the other tests were notapplicable (no errors).
    Moreover, I unpacked the WAR file (MyHelloService.war): all necessary XML files were included and well-formed.

  • Deploy Web Service on Forms OC4J

    Dear All,
    Is it possible to deploy web service created in Jdeveloper 10.1.3.5.0 (uses plsql package) on OC4J which is part of Oracle Forms 10g (10.1.2)?
    I have read notes about deploying on OAS but cannot find any document which answers my question.
    Please help.
    Sincerely,
    Givi

    Actually, it sounds like your deployment worked fine ... the message:
    "Sorry, I don't speak via HTTP GET- you have to use HTTP POST to talk to me."
    is the message that comes up in Oracle9iAS 9.0.2 at a Web service endpoint. Add a ?WSDL to the URL and you should get the WSDL for the Web service. Add a ?proxy_source to the URL and you should be able to download a client to the Web service.
    Check out this tutorial at step 24 (http://otn.oracle.com/tech/webservices/htdocs/series/plsql/content.html) and you will see how the endpoint URL generates a more satisfying Web service home page in Oracle9iAS 9.0.3 versus the cryptic, but valid message in 9.0.2.
    As for your deployment, the use of admin.jar for deployment only works on stand-alone OC4J's versus real full installations of Oracle9iAS - this is why the Enterprise Manager interface you used worked but the admin.jar did not. There is also a command line interface for Oracle9iAS called DCM which you can read about at:
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/A97329_03/core.902/a92171/dcm.htm#620714
    that gives similar functionality. The reason that admin.jar does not work is that DCM and OEM solve a bigger problem in that they also support deployment to and configuration of a clustered environment so have that extra functionality built in.
    Hope this answers your questions and gets you going.
    Mike.
