Deprecated Function in ECC6.0

Hi,
I am trying to find the impact of upgrading a 4.6C SAP system to an ECC6.0 for my custom applications. Therefore I would lik to ind what arethe changes in the standard SAP function.
Wich one are still existing, removed, modified, renamed, ...
Does anyone knows where I can find that kind of information ?

I understand your problem but I doubt there's such list. Just to give some numbers:
R/3 4.7 has ~ 85.000 ABAP objects
ERP 2005 has > 300.000 ABAP objects
Check how many function modules you use, that don't have the "released for customers" in ther technical settings. You will have to watch those ones.
Read the following notes to get a rough estimate:
367676      Release upgrade from 4.6 to 6.10 for customer programs
452229      Release upgrade from 6.10 to 6.20 for customer programs
689951      Release upgrade from 6.20 to 6.40 for customer programs
857904      Upgrade from Release 6.40 to 7.0:
Out of my experience of our upgrades, the amount between release changes was not that high, a much bigger amount of mandays was necessary when we migrated to Unicode (you intend do so so?).

How do I find out if a class file has deprecated functions

Currently I'm having problems with a old Visual Cafe class.
It is definately using deprecated awt funcions.
My question is..
1) Without the source code how do I find out what deprecated functions the CLASS file is using.
2) Has any deprecated class been truly scrapped ? If so, I cannot find
it in the JDK API documentation or the java.sun.com search engine..

Here is what I did, to answer your question. I unzipped the symantec jar and used a decompiler (JAD works fine, or cavaj) to create an entire src tree (you can do this with 1 command). Then, compile using your target version of Java. There are well over 100 warnings (with -deprecation on) ranging from Cafe's use of awt.Component methods (mostly), Thread.suspend in their Timer class, to the use of java.util.Date in their Calendar component.

Since other pages in this section of the manual (listing new functions and tags) have not been updated for CF10, and some not even for CF9, one has to wonder if this list of deprecated functions (and the next page on obsolete ones) has really been updated to account for any changes since CF 6.1, the last version mentioned above/

Getting deprecated: Function message all over web page

I've gotten the following message all over a web page:Deprecated: Function eregi_replace() is deprecated in /home/hfqmjsoe/domains/tutsforps.com/public_html/Photoshop-Tutorials/index.php on line 107. The message is all over the site and varies but the deprecated: function is repeated. Is this a problem with my Mac or the website? I am using Mountain Lion. Had logic board, hardrive, processors and keyboard replaced and am wondering if I still have a defective laptop. Yes, I have the 2010 Macbook Pro 15" lemon.

Mountain Lion Deprecated: Function ereg()

Hello,
I just upgraded to Mountain Lion, and PHP 5.3.15, and now after getting my local web sites to load, I am not getting (Deprecated: Function ereg() ) on some of the pages. It is a PHP site, so is this an issue I can fix on the Mac or do I need to find and fix in the site code?

It's most likely that there is no fix if the deprecated code is part of the OS routines. This sort of stuff seems to disappear on its own at some future point in time ... or not.

Questions on New Business Partner Standard Address Functionality in ECC6.0

Hello.
We are upgrading our client from 4.72 to ECC6.0 and in the UAT testing phase.
Where before in 4.72 the Standard Mailing address was determined by a simple radio button, it appears that they have gone to a time dependent type of format which is causing issues with our client.
Enabling 'Address Usage' : On the Address Overview Tab in FPP2/FPP3 for the Contract Partner Role, How can we enable the 'Address Usage' box that is under the 'Address Overview' Box? In tcode BP the other roles such as General Partner it is showing correctly.
Any guidance would greatly be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Deprecated functionality in 11.2 from 10.2

Hi,
In our company we will start to try to upgrade from oracle db 10.2 to 11.2. And we have also have to test the functionallity in the applications and i have two questions:
1. Does anyone have a list which pl/sql objects/packages that not can be used in 11.2 if there are any?
2. We have a owb installation in 10.2 and want also move this to 11.2 does anyone have any good experience of this? Have heard that there is some problems with doing this is this correct?

AFAIK, whatever you have in 10.2 should continue to work in 11.2 - you will find more information in the New Features guides

SPLITTING MORE THAN ONE LINE ITEM IN ECC6.0

Hi everyone.
I am using New GL functionality in ECC6.0. I have a big question regarding multiple objects splitting. Ej: Purchase of a service.
If I set one cost centre in the expense line item, the profit centre and segment are determined automatically in the vendor line (in the vendor invoice).
Then I post the payment and, without introducing any cost object, the profit centre and segment are determined automatically in both balance line items. Everything is ok.
However if in the original vendor invoice I use 2 cost lines with different cost centres: New GL splits everything alright and I get the vendor lines splitted with the right profit centre. When I post the payment, with new GL I don't get any split or balance line are properly posted with a PC.
Resuming, splitting works properly in both vendor invoice and manual outgoing payment when originally there is only one cost line and one cost centre. However, when using 2 cost line with different cost centres, splitting is only working in the vendor invoice but I can't get it work in the manual outgoing payment.

There is a config setting called classify document type for document splitting, or something like that.
Here you have all of your doc types, and then you assign a business transactions
The point I am making is that you need to check there, and that the config for the business transactions are the same.
Can you confirm if the payment document actually posted. If it did then it passed the config rules you have set for doc splitting. Make sure you are looking at like for like and both documents are the general ledger view and not the entry view.

Deprecated APIs

Hi,
today I'm once again annoyed about the grubby maintainance and state of the APIs for enterprise portal. Yes I mean the actual version 7.0 (aka NW2004s)! I'll implement a own navigation connector node. If I derive my class vom AbstractNavigationConnectorNode (as suggested in the documentation) I'll get lots of warnings that I'm using deprecated functions because AbstractNavigationConnectorNode implements INavigationConnectorNode which is deprecated How can one get to neat code in this case? Yes a simple workaround will be to switch off the warnings for deprecated codings - but hiding an issue won't solve it! Why can't the functions set to be deprecated not until a new functionality for them will be available? What do you think about this?

Hi Lars,
Yes, this indeed is annyoing, but well known, that SAP doesn't really handle the "deprecated" marker as it is intended. The same can be watched within KM (for example concerning the old EP5 user object).
The only way to get them on the right track probably is to complain about this practice "officially", for example via OSS messages. A change of this policy will take it's time, but that should be worth it's effort...

Functionality of GL & Sub-GL in ECC 6.0

Hi Guys,
In SAP ECC6.0, is there any functionality of Sub-General Ledger (Sub-GL) within main GL? As far as master records are concerned, I understand that these are the Sub-GLs and there is one recon a/c, but what if within a GL, I wnat to see further bifurcation. For eg. Within Provision for expense a/c I want to see the expense heads.
Please let me know the GL & Sub-GL functionality in ECC6.0

Normally this is the requirement of those clients who were using Oracle prior to SAP. As there is no concept of Sub-GL's of GL accounts in SAP, the informations are provided through different reports. I think both of your requirements can be met through AIS (Audit Information System).
Got to SAP Query......         T.Code SQ01....... Select thee Cross Client area.
Select User Group               /SAPQUERY/AU Audit Information System (AIS)
Execute the query......          OS                 *** A I S *** G/L Account Analysis
In the selection screen enter the number of your provision account and execute the report. It'll show you all the other GL accounts which were posted against the provision account. You can also limit the data by period/posting date selection.
I hope it'll work................... if it is not then you better create a query or an ABAP report.

there are new tabs of Document browser & Authourizations in ECC6 can anyone tell the significant use of it, where can i find the relevant info on it.
Can i remove those tabs from the DIR screen, is there any configration to remove those tabs.

The authorisation tab is new functionality from ECC6. It allows you to incorporate authorisations on document level which expand the authorisation functionality considerably. I.e. you can now set display/change access on a department/user/etc level.
The Document Browser tab replicates the folder structures found in EasyDMS and allows you to display/change/edit this structure from within SAP itself.
You can remove either tab using ABAP but not using standard configuration.

Operative valuation for FX/MM in ECC6.0

hi experts,
could any provide a short list of config steps to setup account determination for FX spot/forward and MM time deposit? I am implementing this project in an IDES ECC6.0 server and was surprised to learn that the old operative valuation process is now obsolete.

I booked an FX deal with PType 60A and TTyp 100 and was able to successfully release the flows. But keep getting error during TBB1 posting flows. I believe there is a functionality in ECC6.0/CFM2.0 that requires definition of valuation areas and TRL initialization so i tried setting this up too. I did not have to do this in my previous implementations..
Customization ---
1 - Checked if standard valuation areas are defined
001: IFRS
002: Operational
003: US-GAAP
2 - Defined Accounting Code for my company code "cocode"
3 - Assigned my acctg code to valuation areas
cocode:
001 - IFRS
002 - Operational
4 - Also defined relationship between acct code and valuation area in "Product groups/categories/types to be excluded" but did not tick exclusion
Doing so fixed the first error I received from TBB1, but was giving me a new error "TRL initialization for forex, money market, derivatives, co code 'cocode' is not yet complete"
So, after quite a while of research i found TPM_INITIALIZE (initialize parallel valuation areas). I wasn't sure what to do here so i just selected the product group for OTC transactions and executed fast entry using a previous key date (01.01.2004). I think this fixed the 2nd problem, but now my TBB1 gives a generic issue "No information was found". There is no error log so I don't know how to troubleshoot this.
Would you inform me if the whole setup above is actually needed to run TBB1? Also, if there are any configurations required to run this transaction?

Set_magic_quotes_runtime is deprecated

I used DWCS3 to produce an XSLT Fragment which pulls in an RSS Feed. I keep getting error messages on my live server telling me:
An error occurred in script '/home/mydomain/includes/MM_XSLTransform/MM_XSLTransform.class.php' on line 187:
<br />Function set_magic_quotes_runtime() is deprecated
Is there a new XSLTransform.class available that does not use this deprecated function?
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Exclude inherited properties and functions from code hinting

Since, by design, the [Exclude] metatag works only with MXML code hinting, I was wondering if there is any other way of achieving this. For my reasoning why I consider this feature a necessity please consult my bug report on jira.
Anyway, coming back to the problem at hand, I have come up with two possible ways of achieving this:
1. Use the [Deprecated] metatag and change an option in the Flash Builder, to hide Deprecated functions from the code hinting. The problem is, there is no such option!
2. Install a plugin which adds a new ASDoc tag (let's name it @exclude) which simply speaking removes all functions/properties which have @exclude in their asdoc from code hinting. But again, I have found no such plugin and I don't have necessary skills to accomplish this task.
3. A mix of both - plugin which adds an option to hide deprecated elements from the code hinting. Probably the easiest to develop but still, I haven't managed to find such plugin anywhere and I wouldn't know how to even start looking for information to write it.
If you know how this could be accomplished (without resorting to, for example, manipulating the projects's design by using Interfaces) I'd love to hear them.

Well yes of course. But I am trying to make everything available to the same package. Like a namespace. But I want to only expose the base class for instantiation by third party developers.
For instance I have a base class in a SWC named SomethingClass. SomethingClass utilized SomethingClassB, SomethingClassC and SomethingClassD classes and there need to be public methods in between them.
During code completion/code hinting I would like to stop SomethingClassB, SomethingClassC and SomethingClassD from even showing up in that list.
The whole class. Not just some methods or variables.
