Depreciation calculated on AuC value

Hi,
I have purchased an AuC of Rs. 107491.40
Now as i am running the Depreciation Posting through AFAB, it is calculating depreciation of 0.40 paisa.
Although the depreciation key assigned is 0% it is calculating the depreciation of 0.40 paisa.
what can be the solution for it?
Regards,

hi,
Generally Depreciation accounts should not be maintained for AuC asset classes.
check your configuration in IMG: Financial Accounting (New) >> Asset Accounting >> Integration with General Ledger >> Assign GL accounts

  • Wrong depreciation calculated for base value 04 + EA-FIN activated

    Hi,
after activating EA-FIN, depreciation for assets using base value 04 (= half of replacement value) is calculated wrong.
While AW01 for a particular asset shows depreciation values based on the FULL replacement value (like it would be base value 03) AW01_AFAR (the u201Coldu201D asset explorer) shows the correct depreciation for base value 04.
The wrong base value can also be seen using the "display depreciation calculation" button in both transactions.
There are no enhancements for base value determination active.
I didnu2019t find any SAPNET notes nor SCN entries regarding this case, any ideas?
    Best regards, Christian

For what it's worth, I did a search and didn't find anything either.
It sounds like you've already tried this, but if the base value (the actual $$ value) is different in the trace on both tcodes then you have a problem.  I would be sure to recalculate the values when you enter AW01 and AW01_AFAR to ensure that it's correct before looking at the trace.
The formula for the replacement value is:
    ( u_ganlc-kansw + u_ganlc-answl +
                   u_ganlc-kmafa + u_ganlc-mafav + u_ganlc-zusma +
                   u_ganlc-mafam + u_ganlc-mafal +
                   u_ganlc-kaufw + u_ganlc-aufwv +
                   u_ganlc-aufwp + u_ganlc-aufwl ) / 2 .
I'd look at ANLC for the asset and do the calculation yourself to confirm the value.
You've probably done all of that so I predict an OSS message in your future !

  • Calculation of Depreciation on Net Book Value after posting Revaluation on

How to calculate the depreciation on Net book value after posting Balance sheet revaluation ABAW? The depreciation is been calculated on APC and not on NBV, as the APC of asset has been revalued after the revalution posting, ideally the next period depreciation should be calculating on the new NBV, but the system is not doing this. Is there any specific configuration that Iam missing here.
    Kindly Reply.

  • Asset depreciation calculation based on net book value adjustment

currently I have one asset depreciated based on acquisition value, I want to depreciate using netbook value starting from May,
thus May and afterwards depreciation should be 61107 USD.
but accountant forget this and depreciate asset in May with amount 54628. the June planned depreciation is still based on Acquisition value, i.e. 61150.
So how to adjust June depreciation, if I create a new depreciation key with multi-method based on NBV and change asset master,
    will this solve problem?
how to adjust May posting since it is already posted? thanks

    Thank you for the reply.
But The issue here is I changed the depreciation key based on NBV, but planned depreciation still based on acquisition value for the following months. by the way, OAYR is monthly depreciation. I didn't tick the smoothing, I think this will affect whole company code. I only want to change the depreciation key based on NBV for three assets only, the rest of assets still using Acquistion value depreciation.
I do test in a sand box, now the latest posted depreciation is April, original depreciation key is Z001 (based on Acquisition value),
I changed the depreciation key to Z002(based on NBV), in AS03, I can see the planned depreciation for May is still 61150(based on Acquisition value). I run AFAB, (test run), the result is same.
My objective is let May and subsequent months  planned depreciation to be 61107 based on NBV of April.
Simply change the depreciation key doesn't work at all, anyone have the solution, which other fields in asset master I need to change? or do i need other configuration? thanks

  • Tax depreciation calculation - India

    Hi,
For calculating Tax depreciation for India, we use group assets in asset master (dep area 15).
SAP standard report J1IQ is obsolete and can not be used.
How to calculate tax depreciation for India.
Requirement for India tax depreciation is :
An asset is put to use  < 180 days, depreciation will be 50% of the depreciation rate for that asset (say dep rate is 15%, depreciation will be 7.5% of the asset value.
If asset is put to use > 180 days, depreciation will be 100% of the depreciation rate for that asset (say dep rate is 15%, depreciation will be 15% of the asset value).
    J1IQ is obsolete.
Most of the consultants are facing this problem.
    What is the solution???????????

    Dear Nagesha,
Please note that J1INQ is NOT in use and this report has been withdrawn by SAP.
Please review the below note in this reference.
738919 - IT Depreciation for Assets, India

new solution shall be available in EhP5 SP02.
The general availability of this report will be announced through this

  • Config of Group assets - Tax Depreciation Calculation : India

    Dear Seniors,
can you please explain the configuration of the Group assets and how exactly the tax depreciation calculation in India happens for the individual assets with scheme of entries.
    Thanks and Regards
    Sathish

    Hi,
In India, depreciation on assets for the purpose of computation of net income as per the Income Tax (IT) Act 1961 is calculated over a block of assets instead of individual assets as allowed under the Companies Act 1956. Asset acquisitions and retirements are managed over the block level. The IT Act prescribes certain rates of depreciation to be used under the Written down Value (WDV) method over these asset blocks to compute depreciation.
The following are the customization settings that may be followed in the R/3 system in order to manage your assets in the income tax depreciation area.
    1. Copy the standard chart of depreciation 0IN as provided by SAP and create your own chart of depreciation.
    2. Use the depreciation area 15 for the purpose of management of assets under the IT Act. Make it statistical in nature. (Reference Transaction Code: OADB). Do not check the box negative net book value.
    3. Specify that the Income Tax depreciation area takes over the APC from the book but not make it identical (Reference Transaction Code: OABC).
    4. Create an asset class for the purpose of income tax blocks. This asset class will be used to create only group assets. (Reference Transaction Code:  OAOA)
    5. Specify that the depreciation area for income tax can be managed only for group assets. (Reference Transaction Code: OAYM). This would mean that depreciation for this depreciation area would be computed only at group asset level.
    6. Specify that the asset class defined in (b) above will be used for creating group assets only. (Reference Transaction Code: OAAX)
    7. Two period control methods (IT and NL) have been defined in the system for determination of start or the end of depreciation calculation at the time of a fixed asset acquisition or retirement. You may use these period control methods while creating the depreciation keys for the purpose of IT depreciation.
Calendar assignments have been made for the above mentioned period control methods in order to reflect valuation requirements as per the Income Tax Act (Transaction Code: OAVH). You may create your own period control methods depending on the fiscal year variant you use. The period control methods supplied are based on the fiscal year variant V3.
    8. Depreciation Keys: The following depreciation keys have been created in the system. They correspond to the income tax blocks that are prescribed under Indian tax laws. They are as below:
    Depreciation Keys:
    1. IN1 - Tax Depreciation - 5% -
I Hope it will give you some basic guidance.

    Krishna Kishore

  • YTD and accumul. depreciation have the same value when dpis is 2 years ago

    Hi all
I am using FA and i have some problems. I have just setup this module and now i want to migrate assets in the system. The customer gave me an excel with the following fields that want to be in the system like: asset cost, accumulated depreciation, date placed in service, ytd accumulation and so on.
    the problems are:
    1) when i want to enter new asset manually the ytd depreciation and accumulated depreciation are required to be equal. ok so far, i register new asset on test environment and when i enter the date placed in service for example two years ago (because that is the real date placed in service of the asset) and run depreciation, the system has calculated correctly the accumulated depreciation, but has calculated the same value even for YTD depreciation which is not true, because in this case accumulated depreciation and ytd depreciation are completely different. how to solve this problem? How can i put correct values in this fields?
    2) when i enter these assets directly in the fa_mass_additions table according to the fixed assets user guide, i have the following errors: when i put "ON HOLD" on queue name, and open these assets on the system, the on hold field has no value (is empty)
When i try to run post mass additions, the report is not finding the parameter (book) because the system is giving en error message telling me that there is no value in this list of values
please help to solve this problems because i am not being able to migrate assets for the company.
    Thank you and best regards

    gaskins,
You may have different Color Settings, and if you use Pantone you should be aware that the whole interpretation has changed (a number of times, most radically recently).

    Wrong topic I think

  • Error in Transfer Asset Class-Incorrect depreciation calculation (FI)

System cannot proceed the asset transfer with ABUM transaction code because it will auto calculate depreciation based on acquisition value, supposely calculate depreciation base on net book value from date of transfer.
    The calculation should be :
    Acquisiton value (cost) = $54,430.92
    NBV as at Nov 08 = $31,749.92
Depn rate = 20% base on NBV from date of transfer
Useful life = 5 years start from date of transfer
After the asset transfer is done the system still calculates the depreciation based on original acquisition cost but not based on the NBV e.g $31,749.92 from the transfer date e.g 20/12/2008. The depreciation for asset after the transfer should be based on 20% for 5 years straight line method.
When i check in asset explorer the reporting figures (comparison tab)the depreciation figures are not correct. Pls assist me on this urgently need solutions. thanks lot gurus

  • Asset depreciation calculation for prevous year  when legacy data transfere

    Hello,
Asset Legacy Data transfer has made as on 31.12.2006. so, for the first period asset depreciation calculation has done wrongly  i.e. on the first period of 2007. but it was not noticed at that point of time, now after 2 years, the cumulative difference is coming out very big.
for 1st period, in Asset Value Tab of AS03,  for period 01 , 2007 when i am checking right now it shows for dep. Area 01 right now that Amt to be post (14.48) instead of that in the next line for Dep. area 20 and in the next line it shows, Amt. to be posted ( -0.28). hence, for next period only differnce amount is posted in G/L side instead of actual it should be posted as 14.76.
so, now because of this error, my G/L and AA sides are not matching up.
eventhough i post manual reversal entry via FB01, when i will run ABST2 there will be problem.
if i run manual unplanned depreciation, then will my problem of not matching of Asset side and GL side will be solved. ?
also, please provide suggestion from your end in order to solve this issue.
    Thanking you for your help.
    Jigs.

We cannot post any depreciation to previous fiscal year 2008 as no planned depreciation is envisaged for the previous year 2008. The transfer date for Legacy asset data transfer is maintained as 12/31/2008 and takeover values are uploaded accordingly. Hence, 2009 is a first year for Asset Accounting of the company code.
However, Depreciation posting program checks for previous period log while executing for the current period. The logs are stored in u201CTABAu201D table. For new company code there will not be any entries in TABA table.
Due to missing functionality, System is checking for previous year depreciation posting logs even though the current fiscal year is first year for planned depreciation and giving error message AA 687.
As per SAP Note 144441 this error can be rectified with the help of correction program ZACORR_TABA_ENTRY_CREATE.
    Steps to Rectify the Error:
    1. Copy correction program from SAP Note 144441 into SAP System.
    2. Execute the program with transaction code SA38
    3. Check the values in test mode
    4. If the table is updated with documennt number , remove the test mode tick and execute again
    5. Execute the deprecation

  • New depreciation calculation

We are in an upgrade Project (4.6C >> ECC 6.0).
We have activated extension EA-FIN and the new depreciation calculation was activated automatically. We have to execute transaction AFAR to correct the values of all our assets but differences are too big sometimes. On the other hand, the depreciation values proposed by the system are not correct (we have the simplest depreciation key: linear !!!!).
    Has somebody had this problem?
    Thanks in advance.
    Fernando.

    hello,
i am suffering from the same problem, our TRM consultants activatede EA-FS for their moudle along with EA-FIN.
the later component resulted in change in the calculation of Deprn (for Dep Term assets) and Interest Calculation (for all assets in general),
this has resulted in exhorbitant amount of posting proposed thru AFAR,
i don;t know how to get rid of this,
pls check the SAP Note 965032 (v.imp.) for this which narrates about the shift in the base base for Interest calculation etc. (para (g) )
the only advice i have given so far is not to run AFAR in the actual mode..wait till year end & then after year change in the first period of next year, run AFAR to incorporate the changes for re-calculations...
this will spread the number for all the postings through out all the open periods (all 12),
    best regards,
    ~r.

  • This is regarding Asset Depreciation Calculation

    Dear All,
I had doubt regarding Asset depreciation calculation. If i want to Dpreciate the Total Asset value Upto 95% and 5% is scrap value ,where do we configure this setting in SAP Asset Module.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Prasanna.M

    Hi,
You can achieve this by either scrap value / memo value in your depreciation area.
Go to AS02, go to dep area tab, double click on depreciation area and in detail section enter the scrap value percentage or value. This procedure is only possible, if scrap value maintainance is allowed at main asset and sub asset number in AO21.
    This will resolve your issue.
    Thanks,

  • Prorata depreciation calculation

    Hi
Can any one help how to configure prorata depreciation calculation for Acqusition/Addition of Asset and then standarad depreciation calculation in subsequent months. Below is the sample calculation how depreciation should be calculated.
(Example: If an Asset of $12000 is acquired on Mar 10th 2010 which has a life of 1 year then depreciation calculations should be as follows for Mar 2010 it should be $709.67 (for 22days 100022/31) then from April 2010 to Feb 2011 @ $1000 each month and finally in Mar 2011 it should be $290.33 (for 9 days 10009/31)

    Hi,
do you mean you want the dep to be calculated from the asset value date? if yes, then you can do this setting: we had somewhat similar problem where the dep on asset was not getting calculated from the date of capitalization. we did this as sugegsted by Ajay as it worked. you can see in Quality if it is serving your purpose and then shift to prod.
Go to SE11, enter table T090NP and press DISPLAY
    You will see field XBZDAT...
To modify this entry as X -
    1. Go to Se16N
    2. Enter table name
    3. In the BOX where you enter T code, type &SAP_EDIT and press enter
    4. Now, enter ch of dep and press execute
    5. The field XBZDAT will be open for editing...
    6. Put X here and select this entry
