Depreciation of a leasehold improvement
I am required to depreciate a leasehold improvement over the lifetime of the lease. Current lease is for 39 months. SAP will only allow me to depreciate this asset by a fixed number of years. How do I create an asset that will depreciate over a fraction of a year?
Please check the screen shots for the end of the message to the top.
Configuration for ZLIN- depreciation key.
I tried to create base method same like standard 0011 with Dep. below NB Value zero in “YES”, and I received error no: ACRSL017. I search it and it isn’t that the problem, because in other chart of depreciation I have same situation and the depreciation is correct.

Depreciation Key for Capital Leasehold Improvement
Hi Everyone
I need your help in creating the depreciation key for the Capital leasehold improvemnet assets. I need to specify a specific percentage rate for each period of the first year to calculate depreciation (if asset is acquired in period 1, rate x. If asset is acquired in period 2, then rate y and so on). From year 2-39, it is a constant rate of depreciation.
I created a multilevel method by specifying that year 1, base level 01, rate is 2.461
Year 39, base level 01, rate is 2.564.
I assigned it to the depreciation key with Base method 0012, Period control 002, and the multilevel method that I created. When I post an asset acquisition and use this key for Asset, the amounts for year 1 & 2 are not correct. Second year is taking part of percentage from the first year and the first year is trying to calculate the depreciation for the whole year despite the fact that asset was capitalized in February.
Can someone help me with step-by-step details to create this key?
I appreciate your help.
Thanks,
ShaluResolved myself

Exchange Rate difference in Balance Sheet-Revaluation in Foreign Currency
Hi
I wanted more clarification on the Exchange rate difference the system calculates when we generate a balance sheet and revalue at a fixed rate. The system does not give a breakup of the echange rate calculated. How do we arrive at the exchange rate.
And after having the exchange rate entries posted in the system. Can the system the show these values in the Balance sheet after Revaluation
Regards
FarheenDear Gordan
Below mentioned is the balance sheet which is Revaluated in Euro(System Currency)at a Fixed Rate of 1.42.
at the end of this report we can see that the system has calculated Exchange rate difference as Euro -66483.03 .We want a break up of that amount which is calculated by the system

Could you please help me how to solve this issue?

Thanks,

Reverse the document from AB08 and post two separate docs again...
you will have to identify the Asset No from the FI doc that you posted.... With in FB03, you can see Environment > Doc Env > relationship browser

Edited by: Jie Jin on Nov 12, 2010 10:32 PMHi Heather,
I import the titles successfully. The error message is for import GL active account.
The error message is the namespace element 'schema' must be from the schema namespace.
I leave some columns blank if we don't need it. I tried tYes and tNo the same error.
Any more ideas? Thanks.

Sql*loader and sequence() for primary keys
I have a question regarding SQL*Loader with the sequence() function and using it for a primary key to load records in multiple tables from one input record. I am pulling data from a delimited file and populating several tables from each row. For the primary key, I am using the sequence function.
For the first table (the parent), I use sequence(40000,1) for the key. Since the remaining inserts are based on the same logical record, I use sequence(40000,1) for those too (one record for each month). The problem comes in when a child record does not pass a WHEN clause (the amount is zero). Then it almost seems as if the parent record is not loaded and the child (or children) that does pass the WHEN clause are assigned to the next parent! Obviously, the sequence is getting out of sync between the children and the parent.
I've looked in the documentation and tried several different ways to attack this problem. Is there a bug in SQLLDR (8.1.7) or is it just my coding.
I will try to include the files below but they are very large.
Thanks for your help.
Dan

Hello All,
I need a depreciation forecast report that gives me the depreciation by month. It needs to subtotal by cost center and asset class. Eg if cost center X has deprecaition of 5000 which is comprised of asset class A of $1000 Asset classs B of $1000 and Asset Class C of $ 3000. I need to see
Cost Center X Asset class A 1000
Cost Cener X Asset Class B 1000
Cost Center X Asset Class C 3000.
I was trying to use report S_ALR_87012936 to achive this but i can only achieve this when i run this report at a detailed level. When i run it on a summary level, the cost center is not available.
Is there a way i can achieve this?
Thanks,
Zaid AzamHi,
in report S_ALR_87012936 the summary level is more or less only a different layout and a reduced field catalogue. There is no performance improvement on the summary execution. This is different to the most other FI-AA standard reports.
So my proposal: run it on summary level, but create a layout according to your needs on the output list. Then you can start this report already as of the next time with the layout, or you can choose it on the output list any time you need it. If you need this, you could also default this individual layout.

Hello,
For the Russian bonus depreciation we have tried to follow the configuration steps according to note 944927 but the configuration entry for the last step (Customizing for Financial Accounting -> Asset Accounting -> Information System -> Country-Specific Functiond -> Russia ->Investment and Improvements) is missing in our IMG. The highest installed Support Package is SAPKH60006.
Allthough we have tried to configure new depreciation keys for the bonus depreciation, this only works in association with linear depreciation methods. If we use non-linear depreciation methods the system calculates incorrect annual depreciation values.
Thanks in advanceHi,
You don't need to create a special depreciation key for MACRS depreciation. If you are using the US depreciation chart, the key is already there. You do, however, have to set the calendar to the correct dates. But the standard depreciation key M200 works just fine. If you are not using the US depreciation chart, copy it in a testing environment and pull up depreciation key M200 in tx AFAMA and copy it from there. In this case, you would also have to adjust the calendar. I hope this helps.

Asset Depreciation Planned values
Hi Everyone,
There is a requirement for us to pull planned as well as posted depreciation values for assets. The input for the program would essentially be Fiscal Year, selected list of asset class & cost centers. We are using the FM 'AM_SHOW_POST_DEPR' to fetch posted & planned values. Now the issue is that, since not many key fields are provided, the report takes so much time to fetch the required assets and its posted / plan values. On doing a more close analysis it was found that 75 % of the data fetching time is consumed by the FM 'AM_SHOW_POST_DEPR'. Is there any other function modules / method to perform the activity done by this FM, so that the performance can be improved, or if possible can somebody provide the logic involved in asset plan data projection.
This FM returns the values which can be seen in posted values tab of the transaction code 'AW01N'.
Regards,
KiranYou are talking about dep planned values thus this is not posted as actual values?
When the actuals values are posted there is longer planned values.
When you want to make changes you can use the transaction:
ABZU - Write-Up
When you want to do this you should re open fiscal year 2008 for asset accounting. Following on this you have to do the fiscal year closing again for 2008 and 2009.
This action will create postings in FI in 2008 and 2009!!!!!!! -
Hi All,
We had a month End scenario where the depreciation for a company code is not executed for the last month and closed the period without checking it.
While running the Depreciation posting for this month we encounted a error that last motn period is closed. Can we do the depreciation without opening the period closed. Kindly let us know the options available.
Regards,
Lakshmi NarayanaLakshmi,
There is no way you can post depreciation without opening the prior periods. Please discuss with your business and secure all necessarry approval, I believe the business has a process on this kind of situations. As long as it is fully documented, auditors will not find it wrong.
This is the best time to improve your process, think of possible ways so that business will not forget to post depreciation (e.g send automatic email during 3 days before, 2 days before., 1 day before and during the day of depreciation run).
Hope this helps.
Thanks!

Dear All,
This error message displayed when i running the Fixed Asset Depreciation Run directly until period 10, while it is ok if i running the Depr Run until period 8 and 9.
"The depreciation run 100000001 failed and has been cancelled;
Error: -10 ( - Overlapped I/O operation is in progress. )"
The error arises when i tried the depr run until period 10 onwards.
Please let me know if you have any solutions.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Lina YuanitaGreetings,
Hi there, we've received the same error message before and SAP Support's reply is that this is because of the Budget setup. Below is their support message:
This problem is caused by budget deviation.
Kindly refer to the solution as follows:
1) choose Adminstration => System Initialization => General Setting
=> Budget Tab.
2) tick 'Block Deviation from Budget'
3) perform Depreciation Run in Fixed Assets
4) adjust the budget of accounts in accordance with the error message
poped up in step 3
5) perform Depreciation Run again
BTW the error message("-10(Overlapped I/O operation is in progress)")
in this scenario had been improved in B1 2007A. It will be more
user-friendly and comprehensible.
PS: Maybe we should keep the forum posts in English even if I do understand Bahasa Malaysia / Indonesia -
Depreciated Terms influences select window when editing?
In a termset I have a huge number of terms which are depreciated. In my metadata column which is bound to that term set I have the issue that if I edit a list item and edit the metadata column, then I see the selection window with a different count of items
on the pages. That means in this window on page 1 I see 4 items, next page only one item, next page 3 items. I recognized that between those terms there are a different number of depreciated terms.
How to fix this? Thanks!Hi Dominik,
Yes, based on your description, I could understand your concern. However, it seems to be a by design issue. I am sorry for the inconvenience caused for you.
When we deprecate a term, this action makes any instances of this term in any term set to which it belongs unavailable for tagging. Any child terms of the term are not deprecated. If the deprecated terms are not shown completely, there would be no position
to show its child terms.More information, please refer to:
https://support.office.com/en-ca/article/Create-and-manage-terms-within-term-sets-66b8e643-6234-4447-946e-e369112d2320.
As a workaround, you can try to export terms into Excel, and sort them in Excel, or manage the depreciated terms with PowerShell, and put them into a separate set.
You can also open a ticket from Microsoft to confirm this issue:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?id=fh;en-us;offerprophone
In addition, I will report this issue internally, and thanks for your help for improving Microsoft product.
Best Regards,
Wendy
