Desesperatly trying to deploy a simple standalone application...

Hi,
i've been trying to deploy a simple application but i have a problem when using the command line "java -jar myarchive.jar"...i have a "java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError" !
I make the archive via Jdev, by using "Making a simple Jar archive", i let the default arguments but i don't really know what to put in the field "Main class".
I only have a class which is in a package :
My class is in c:\jdev\mywork\myproject\classes\mypackage1
I try different things in the "Main class" field :
1) c:\jdev\mywork\myproject\classes\mypackage\myclass
2)c:\jdev\mywork\myproject\classes\mypackage.myclass
but it does not work...
thanks you for helping me...

If you've taken the defaults and have something like Class1.java in the package mypackage1. Then the value you put in the Main Class field of the deployment profile is: (without the quotes) "mypackage1.Class1"
Note:
The case of the package and class names must be correct
There is no .class extension mentioned

  • Problem trying to develop a simple ADF Application

    Hi all,
    I am using Jdev 11.1.1.0 and webLogic 10.3.1
    I have a simple application with only a welcome message and a table.
    I am trying to deploy it, but I am a little confused.
    I have created the Application Server Connection succesfully.
    What have I to do now? I suppose, I have to create a deployment profile.
    If I right click on myApplication-->New-->Deployment profiles--> I can choose only EAR file or MAR file (not WAR file, like described in the manual 35.3.2). What I have to do?
    Instead, if I right click on ViewController-->New-->Deployment profiles--> I can choose more files (ADF Library JAR file, Client JAR File, JAR File, RAR File, Taglib JAR File, WAR File).
    If I choose this way, have I anything to do with the Model? if I right click on Model-->New-->Deployment profiles--> I can choose more files (ADF Library JAR file, Business Components Archive, Business Components EJB Session Bean, Business Components Service Interface, Client JAR File, JAR File, RAR File).
    Please help.
    Thanks

    The deploy seems to works, in fact Jdevelepor gives to me:
    Building...
    Deploying 2 profiles...
    Wrote Web Application Module to myFolder\ViewController\deploy\webapp1profile.war
    Wrote Enterprise Application Module to myFolder\deploy\application1EARProject.ear
    Deploying Application...
    The task cannot be processed further until the current edit session is activated. When this occurs, task processing will continue. The user can exit the deployer tool without affecting the task.
    Operation 'deploy' on application 'application1EARProject' has succeeded on 'AdminServer'
    Application Deployed Successfully.
    Elapsed time for deployment: 15 seconds
    But when I go to the URL: http://<host>:port/<context root>/faces/<page> I have the same problem: I can not see the page correctly, I continue to see only the welcome message, but not the table
    Any other suggestions?
    thanks again

  • Deployment of Portal Standalone Application DC

    Hi All,
    I've created a DC of type 'Portal Application Standalone'. I also created a DC of type 'External Library' for use by the former DC. Upon building the former DC, I see that the sda file is created with the par file within it.
    Under Development configuration tab in NWDS, I checked in both the above-mentioned DCs and activated them.Shouldn't this have deployed the DC to the Dev server? I've verified that there are runtime systems configured in NWDI with deploy option checked.
    I tried to locate my application from System Administration ->Support>Portal Runtime>Browse Deployment/Admin Console etc..but don't see it there.
    Do I have to release the activity for it to deploy?
    Also, I tried to right click and deploy the DC myself from the Dev Config perspective in NWDS. but i got an error saying 'sdm host is empty'. I've already set the host under Windows>Preferences>SAP EP. The port i set here is not the sdm port, but 500xx where xx is the instance no.
    I was able to create a portal app and deploy it using the 'deploy par' option with the above settings. Am I missing any additional config  configuration for DC deployment (am sure we hv to set the sdm port etc somewhere).
    I'll appreciate if someone can help guide me on this.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    To use NWDI,
    Check the below paramaters configured or not?
    1) Window -> Preferences -> Java Development Infrastructure -> Development Configurations
    enter the URL of your NWDI.
    2) Window -> Preferences -> sap Enterprise Portal -> sap j2ee engine  and then enter message server name and port details
    To deploy the developed dc into nwdi , you need to checkout and release the activity.

  • Deployment of simple jsp application in Oracle 10g AS

    Hi All,
    This is a critical issue. We have a JSP application which uses the plain old java objects to esltabilsh database connection and same old java objects to perform the business logic.
    All java file are packed in a jar file and all jsp's and other files(GIF,CSS etc) are copied to a folder.
    So what should be the steps to deploy this application to the Oracle 10g Application server.

    Thanks for the update.
    But application is already developed and is Runing in the 9i As and now we have to deploy it to the 10g server.
    Some steps that i am following to deploy the application are:-
    Steps for the deploying the A+ Web portal in OUGD
    1)Copy the “aplus” folder(containing related jsps,css and gif files) and aplus.jar file to
    “<<ORA-HOME>>/iAS/Apache/Jserv”
    2)     Go to the following file
    "<<ORA-HOME>>/iAS/Apache/Jserv/etc/jserv.properties” and add the following lines,
    #APlus
    wrapper.classpath=<<ORA-HOME>>/iAS/Apache/Jserv/aplus
    wrapper.classpath=<<ORA-HOME>>/iAS/Apache/Jserv/aplus.jar
    #APLUS CONFIGURATION
    wrapper.bin.parameters=-DWV_GATEWAY_CFG=<<ORAHOME>>/iAS/Apache/modplsql/cfg/wdbsvr.app
    3)     Go to the following file
    “<<ORA-HOME>>/iAS/Apache/Jserv/etc/zone.properties” and add the
    following lines
    Append the following line to “repositories=”
    <<ORA-HOME>>/iAS/Apache/Jserv/aplus,
    <<ORA-HOME>>/iAS/Apache/Jserv/aplus.jar
    4)     Go the following file
    “<<ORA-HOME>>/iAS/Apache/Apache/conf/apps.conf” and add the following lines
    Alias /aplus/ "<<ORA-HOME>>/iAS/Apache/Jserv/"
    <Directory "<<ORA-HOME>>/iAS/Apache/Jserv">
    Options Indexes MultiViews
    AllowOverride None
    Order allow,deny
    Allow from all
    </Directory>
    but following this steps i am not getting the result.

  • Getting bad host error when trying to deploy simple web sample application

    hi,
    Can someone tell me why I'm getting this error when trying to deploy the simple web application from samples
    This is what it said:
    deploy_common:
    [echo] Deploying ../assemble/war/webapps-simple.war.
    [exec] java.net.MalformedURLException: Bad host: station_1
    thanks

    Hi,
    Another update on this issue.
    To remove the error that we were getting (java.lang.LinkageError: Class javax/xml/transform/Source violates loader constraints), we tried some searching around and found out that the way to fix it is to provide correct versions of xalan.jar, xml-apis.jar and xercesImpl.jar. We downloaded the required version from the apache site and added it to our WEB-INF/lib folder in the WAR file.
    Now, we are getting this error:
    XPathFactory#newInstance() failed to create an XPathFactory for the default object model: http://java.sun.com/jaxp/xpath/dom with the XPathFactoryConfigurationException: javax.xml.xpath.XPathFactoryConfigurationException: No XPathFctory implementation found for the object model: http://java.sun.com/jaxp/xpath/dom
    What else we might be missing in our libs or do we need to check some other configurations?
    Any help on this would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Gaurav

    The Application does nothing, it's just a simple page (the button does nothing too)  the aim is to deploy a jsf page with ADF forms.
    The deployment log is on the first message.
    I'm using Jdeveloper and i note the Jdev inserts some servlets into the web.xml file ! is it possible that the probleme is related to this ? (below the web.xml file)

  • Deploying a Java CORBA application in Web Start

    I am a novice to Java Web Start. I have a sample Client-Server application with CORBA as a middle ware. The front end (Client) is in Java and back end (Server) is in C++. The application is run and tested with jar and batch file. Now I want to deploy that application in Java Web Start and JNLP.
    I have configured the same by creating a JNLP file and signed jars.
    Now as all knows any CORBA application needs a domain file ( .cfg ) and some org.omg classes to communicate with the server by RPC.
    I am stuck with how to specify these domain file name, path, CORBA classes etc in my JNLP. Not even that, I can't understand exactly what configuration will make the CORBA apps work properly in Java Web Start so that it can communicate with the server as well. All the Orbix jars's, IDL Stub jars are present and signed. I am giving my JNLP file as a reference. Actually I have tried adding these domain files and CORBA classes as parameters. But as usual it is not working and after running the JNLP the Java console suddenly gets disappeared.

    *@ gimbal2 and EJP :*
    The firewall is present and allowed to access apps. When I am running the jar of my application from batch file then everything is running fine. The CORBA Server is a remote RHEL5 (Enterprise Linux 5) machine whose 'IP' and 'Hostname' is specified in *"C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts"* file. Server is running fine and after starting the Client the Server side remote method is invoked. Data fetched properly and everything is working like a charm.
    When running from batch (.bat) file using jar My applications folder hierarchy is something like this.
    Test_CORBA_App
    ------+config ( contains resources file and domain file )
    ------+lib_6.3 ( contains all Jars)
    ------+log ( will contaiin the generated log files )
    -------runCORBA_App.bat ( the batch file I am running )
    As depicted above the folder hierarchy, my domain file resides in "config" folder. The contents of the batch file are as follows :
    runCORBA_App.bat
    C:\jdk1.6.0_14\bin\java -Xms64M -Xmx512M -Dorg.omg.CORBA.ORBClass=com.iona.corba.art.artimpl.ORBImpl -Dorg.omg.CORBA.ORBSingletonClass=com.iona.corba.art.artimpl.ORBSingleton -jar lib_6.3\UI_Fall_Test63.jar -ORBdomain_name VOIAMODOMAINNEW 1
    pause
    The following things are specified in the batch file :
    1. JDK path : ( C:\jdk1.6.0_14\bin\java )
    2. Java VM arguments for max and min memory : ( -Xms64M -Xmx512M )
    3. ORB class name: ( -Dorg.omg.CORBA.ORBClass=com.iona.corba.art.artimpl.ORBImpl )
    4. ORB singleton class name : ( -Dorg.omg.CORBA.ORBSingletonClass=com.iona.corba.art.artimpl.ORBSingleton )
    5. Jar file name to run : ( -jar lib_6.3\UI_Fall_Test63.jar )
    6. Domain Name : ( -ORBdomain_name VOIAMODOMAINNEW )
    7. Main function args : ( 1 )
    I am trying to deploy this simple CORBA application in Java Web Start and JNLP. I kept this in my tomcat server web apps. The folder hierarchy is as follows :
    tomcat
    ---+ bin
    ---+ conf
    ---+ ..
    ---+ ..
    ---+ ..
    ---_ webapps
    ----------+ host-manager
    ----------+ manager
    ----------+ ..
    ----------+ ..
    ----------_ Test_CORBA_App
    -------------------+ config
    -------------------+ lib_6.3
    -------------------+ lib_6.3-Signed
    -------------------+ log
    --------------------CORBADemo.jnlp (.jnlp file)
    --------------------index.html (.html file)
    As you can see I maintained the same folder structure as it was when running from batch file. The jars I am using is signed and kept in lib_6.3-Signed folder.
    My updated "CORBADemo.jnlp" is :
    CORBADemo.jnlp

    *3. CORBA server is running on a remote RHEL 5 machine as I mentioned before also.*
    URL : http://<My Machine IP>:8400/Test_CORBA_App/
    As desired the Web Start application will make a call to the remote CORBA server on RHEL5 machine by initializing the ORB and resolving the CORBA NamingService. But exception is occurring as I posted in previous post i.e exception while resolving NamingService.
    Now my query is whether the domain file ( DOMAIN.cfg ) is reading/ accessing properly from my machine while running the JNLP or not. Because I presume in Java Web Start special attention is required to read any .cfg file. If everything is fine why the error is occurring.
    *@ EJP :* The ORB is desired to run and running on the CORBA Server remote macine i.e RHEL5 machine, because from batch file it is working fine.
    Is it so that I need to run the Tomcat Web Server and CORBA Server from the same machine.

  • Trying to do the simple HelloWorld java application for portal

    Hi:
    i've been trying to do the simple java application HelloWorld so that i can get a view of how will it be to integrate a pure java application that we have in a later step. The fact is that i've been following "how to build a java portlet" and "packaging and deploying your provider" documents.
    i've taken the code from that document:
    public class HelloWorldApp {
    public static void main (string[] args){
    //Display "Hello World!"
    System.out.println("Hello World!");
    That's my java code. (in fact i want to do this as a trial, 'cause later i will
    do the same with a java application of our own).
    So i compiled it, taken the .class, jar it and packaged it as told in the
    second document.
    I've deployed it in OC4J_portal and when i try to access the URL i get an

    does anybody know how to solve this problem?
    Thx.
    Regards. Urko.

    Hi Urko,
    Such an application as you have quoted will not have much luck as a Portlet - the code you supplied simply writes "Hello World" to standard out!
    Think of a portlet more like a servlet - you have an output stream to write to which, under the covers, is wired back up to the Portal Server which assembles the content into the page seen in the browser.
    Take a look at the extensive range of sample Java Portlets available with the PDK download.
    Anyway, from the stack trace it looks like you're using JavaRenderer. JavaRenderer invokes an arbitrarily named method on an arbitrary class **provided** that method takes a single argument of type PortletRenderRequest. So you would need something like:-
    public class MyApp
    // A bunch of app-specific code.
    public void renderPortlet(PortletRenderRequest pr)
    PrintWriter out = pr.getWriter();
    out.println("<b>Hello World</b>");
    Then, the relevant provider.xml section would look something like this....
    <showPage class="oracle.portal.provider.v2.render.http.JavaRenderer>
    <className>MyApp</className>
    <renderMethod>renderPortlet</renderMethod>
    </showPage>
    Hope this helps.....

    Gareth

  • Deploying standalone applications

    I'm a beginning programmer interested in learning how to deploy client-side standalone applications in Java. I'm using the Metrowerks CodeWarrior IDE, and I am writing some simple GUI applications. Under 'Java Output', my IDE lets me select either Jar file or application. When 'application' is selected, two files are generated: a Windows application (JavaApplication.exe) that transparently runs the program, and JavaApplication.zip (which presumably holds the .class files). Would it be possible to FTP these files to a server for others to download and run (under Windows only, of course)? Or is it better to simply upload the .jar file? On a related note, I don't understand why the "executable" .jar files output in my projects can't run when I double click on them, even though I have the JVM on my computer.
    I realize that any compiling destroys the "write once, run anywhere" capability that is Java's hallmark, but for now my main concern is just to get some practice deploying my programs.
    any help with these questions would be greatly appreciated,
    thanks,
    Eric

    Good help you if you are using Metrowerks, one of the CRAPPIEST IDE every. Anyway, all it is doing is putting a wrapper around your main Java app class when you create a exe. As for download, either will do, put both up and let user decide. The jar is good for all, were the exe is OK, as many window user will find it more familiar to deal with. As to the VM problem, the solution is here on the forum, go search, I gave you 2 of the 3 answers, do now you can also get some search practice to go with your deploy practice.

  • Don't have a server in SOA servers list when trying to deploy app

    Hi,
    I am on JDev 11.1.1.6, MDS created in 11.2.0 server.
    Trying to deploy a simple test composite into the app server installed with JDeveloper.
    I don't see any 'SOA servers' in the list.
    Admin server is up and running, so is the managed one, node manager looks fine, not using proxy in JDev preferenxes, the Application server connection status is tested fine.
    I saw quite a few postings on the same issue but so far didn't come to any that would give a solution which will work for my case. Any feeedback is very welcome.
    Thank you
    Anatoliy

    No, it is not. Sorry, what it has to do with my problem? If you don't have soa-infra app, then SOA Suite is not installed/configured for your domain... You need SOA Suite to deploy composites...
    Check this...
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e13925/configure.htm#CFHCGFHD
    Also have a look at item 3.1.6 Extending an Existing Domain in the same document...

  • Problems deploying a simple EJB

    I am trying to deploy a simple EJB on the 8.1.5. The bean only owns a single method that needs a unique parameter.
    No problems with compilation of source bean, home and remote interfaces, whatever the type of this parameter is.
    But when I try to deploy the jar on the server, I only succeed if the parameter of my method is a simple type (int, String ...).
    If I try the same passing a complex type (here a oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLDocument type), I encounter this message from the deployejb tool :
    Generating EJBHome and EJBObject on the server...
    Compilation errors in oracle/aurora/ejb/gen/test_myFluxInsert/EjbObject_FluxInsert:ORA-29535: source requires recompilationjava/lang/Object: Authorization error for referenced class Oracle/xml/parser/v2/XMLDocument.java/lang/Object: Authorization error for referenced class oracle/xml/parser/v2/XMLDocument.oracle/aurora/ejb/gen/test_myFluxInsert/EjbObject_FluxInsert:50: Class oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLDocument not found in type declaration.
    public java.lang.String insereFlux (oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLDocument arg0)
    ^ Info: 3 errors
    And if I use an int instead of the XMLDocument parameter, everithing's right.
    Can anybody submit a no-paranormal solution ?
    Thanks.
    GH

    Parameter passing in EJB must implement Serializable. One way to solve this is:
    1. Define a new class which implements
    Serializable.
    2. Place whatever you want to pass inside
    this class.
    3. Now use the new class as your parameter.
    eg.
    public class Params implements java.io.Serializable {
    String p1;
    XmlDocmuent xdoc;,
    etc, etc
    Your program now have to use the class Params for parameter passing.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi Shay,
    Thanks for your response.
    The following is what I did:
    1. connect JavaDB on my C drive by using generic jdbc
    2. create EO, VO and AM manually based on one JavaDB table (Please note: When I use the BC4J wizard, I can only create VO, the EO is empty)
    3. run BC4J tester to insert and update data
    4. created an ADF Swing application by dragging the EMPview from data control to the editor
    5. save the project and run java class
    6. create the deployment profile by following your instruction,
    and select all libraries from the Contributors list when I create the file groups
    7. deploy the jar file without any error

  • Deployment of simple JSP to Oracle Servlet Engine

    Hi
    Anyone there tried to deploy a simple JSP running against OSE.
    Please advice where can I get more information for this.
    Thanks

    Yes I have tried it with simple examples like data access and calling EJB. In-session EJB calls do not work but if your JSP is deployed in another Oracle JVM like 9iAS then EJB calls work.
    There are two manuals you can refer:
    JSP Developers guide at http://technet.oracle.com/docs/products/oracle8i/doc_library/817_doc/java.817/a83720/toc.htm
    AND
    Java Tools reference guide at http://technet.oracle.com/docs/products/oracle8i/doc_library/817_doc/java.817/a83727/toc.htm
