Designer 3.1 does not appear to view XI r2 universes correctly
Hi I am new to supporting Business Objects so do not know all the correct terms, sorry.
Recently as part of a company upgrade our development server has been upgraded from XI r2 to XI 3.1.
Our Business Objects programmer has noticed that when opening Designer 3.1 she cannot view all details within the table browser as she can using the release 2 application.
She also noticed that the universes and any changes will not save.
All fields are present, but not in the order she has created / saved e.g
TABLE BROWSER
- spin_report
+ dbo
+ hearns
+ respched
- CH_Mart (created by programmer with specific fields)
+ dbo }
+ hearns } repeated as per spin_report (this should display custom entries saved by programmer)
+ respched }
CH_Mart should display a number of entries that the programmer uses on a regular basis, this is fine in XI r2 designer, but in 3.1 the complete listing under "spin_report" is repeated for every entry

This bug is so totally fundamental that before committing to writing code that uses the STL adapter class (or any similar classes), I think that we ought to look at the list of outstanding bugs. We have a support account.

My problem is that even though the view is created, it does not appear in the View links just above my list. It only appears in the drop down menu of views in the ribbon. On the contrary, if I create the view using the browser user interface (not programmatically),
the view appears in both places.
Do you have any idea why this might be happening?

I can reproduce the issue that creating calendar view using programming method, the view isn’t shown in view selector menu, and this only happens to calendar view, html view or other views are shown in the menu.
After editing the web part, disable the selector menu, then re-enable the selector menu again, I can see the calendar view shown in the view selector menu, create a new calendar view using programming, the calendar view shows as expected.
This seems indicate there is some issue in the view selector menu display, I would suggest you to first disable the view selector menu through edit the web part properties, then create the calendar view.

VTR OK does not appear in Viewer
I connect my Canon or my JVS minidv cam. Set the cam to VCR or Play. Connect the fire wire. Click on FCP to open. It does and the appropriate screens open. I look under the controls on the Viewer in FCP and there appears nothing. No VTR OK or anything. The dialogue box that pops up if you did not have the cam turned on or connected does not appear. Any attempts to control the cam from my computer fail. The software seems to recognize the camera but not enough to place VTR OK or anything for that matter under the Viewers controls. Any thoughts? BTW it happens for both cameras and one year ago this was never a problem as I've outlined here. Thank you.
Canon cameras do not always connect well using log and capture. I have an old GL1 that I let my grandkids use for school projects and I have to use capture now in order to get video and audio into FCP.
Be sure your capture settings are for "non controllable device"
Shut down FCP, plug the firewire in, restart FCP and it should show up. -
Img Does not appear in Design View

Have an image that I would presume has a simple enough presence in the page...

...and sure enough the image appears as expected at runtime.
But within Dreamweaver Design View it does not appear at all.
Why?
I have multiple other images on this page that all appear within the designer as expected, but not this one.
My main problem right now is that I need a map associated with this image and would really like to use DW's tools to create and position the <area> tags.
Has anyone seen this sort of behavior in DW8 before?

Had created the row w/out <td> cells to carry the top banner (sort of cheating) on spanning the cells i guess ( )
Anyway, re-wrote so that the banner table was independant and did not require span and picked up the data table independantly.
Problem solved and designer picked up the image precisely.

Curious though that the image is dependant on the <td> tag. I would have expected any image called within the page to display in the designer regardless of location in the html.
Oh well, fixed and onto the next challenge.

A newly added Cal.View Measure does not appear in the BEX Designer:
I got a runnig query in Bex Designer, based on a transient InfoProvider which is based on a HANA Calculation View
and
added a new measure to the Calculation View
and
added a Reference InfoObject in the Publisher to the (transient) InfoProvider.
and
see the newly added filed in the Listccube of the(transient) InfoProvider with a technical generated name
and do not
get the newly added measure in the BEX Designer.
Whats wrong ? What needs to be done ?

Are you trying to consume the HANA Calc View in BEx Front End Tool - Query Designer.Could you also check the data preview of the Calc View shows the newly added Measure.Check the definition of Calc View under SYS_BIC schema ->Column Views.

I accidentally entered full screen view and was unable to exit. The Firefox Help article at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-make-firefox-and-websites-go-full-screen?esab=a&s=full+screen+mac&r=0&as=s says I should see a Full Screen View icon in the upper right-hand corner of the Firefox window. That icon not there. I cannot find it. It does not appear in either the full screen or non-full screen views.
Further, the Help article's advice to exit full screen view by using the keyboard sequence command+shift+F does not work. I had to unplug my iMac and reboot. Firefox then opened in non-full screen view.
Ideally, hitting the Escape key would cause Firefox to exit full screen view.I forgot one detail. This happened while I was having trouble seeing the mouse cursor (I use Apple's Magic Mouse). It had disappeared briefly. I had to drag the cursor out of the Firefox Window for it to reappear. I accidentally entered full screen view while the cursor was not visible.

No real solution to problem 1, stationary tends to look different depending on the client, as for 2 Mail does not export to pdf but can print to pdf, however you still get the mail headers.

Calendar item does not appear in day view for Sunday August 1, 2010
I have a strange problem. I have an appointment on Sunday August 1, 2010. When in day view, and move from Saturday July 31 to Sunday Augsust 1 the appointment does not appear. However, if you look at list view or month view, it is there. If you continue to Monday and then go back to Sunday (all in day view) it appears. There is another person in my office with the exact same problem, so I know it is not just my phone. Anyone else have this issue? Any fix? I am concerned about appointments I will miss because of this. I added appoinments directly into the phone, no server, no exchange, no sync, same problem. It appears to be a bug in OS4.

actually I just found what is the problem, if I choose the Halo effect in the Title navigator (sorry if the words are not exactly it, mine is in French so I translate) I do not have the "show the polices" in the upper left corner of the viewer, but if I choose another one like a lateral effect, it appears and I can modify the polices and colors of my title. Go figure?!
I spent maybe 2 hours trying to understand that, well I think it is a glitch, but maybe just on the French version, I don't know. -
On OSX 10.6.8 Mac Mail sent items do not show the Bcc field. Adjusting settings in mail/prefs/viewing/custom/bcc has no affect on Mail, ie Bcc still does not appear on sent items. Yet another example of Mac caring not a jot about the performance of versions of OS and software running on on older hardware. Anyone got a fix by any chance? Oh and fyi I need to see the Bcc in sent items to confirm sent email is attaching to Salesforece - when I see the Bcc I know I can delete it as a copy will be in SForce. Big thanks W.

Just upgraded to Firefox 4. My Yahoo toolbar has disappeared and I can't work out how to reset it as it does not appear in the View drop-down list. Also NIS 2011 no longer flags up safe/unsafe sites when browsing.

Symantec need to update their Firefox add-ons so that they are compatible with Firefox 4. They have indicated that for Norton 360 they plan to release an update to Norton 360 to support Firefox 4 in early May - http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20100720113635EN&ln=en_US
I do not know about the time scale for updates for other Norton products. Pending the update by Symantec, if you want to use the Norton add-ons you will need to downgrade to Firefox 3.6.
To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.

I'm attempting to create a pdf from InDesign and the Illustrator image does not appear properly.
I'm attempting to create a pdf from InDesign and the Illustrator logo does not appear properly. The logo has a light blue color background with a black to white gradiant over it with a multiply designation set at 100%. I flattened the logo in illustrator before importing into InDesign. When the pdf is created, the blue background of the logo drops out and the only thing showing is the graduated screen of black. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

Reader 9 to view the pdf. I created it by exporting. Attached is a
screen capture of the letterhead. Since I posted, I sent a test pdf to
my partner's computer eventhough it didn't look right on my system and
she said it looked fine to her. I've restarted my computer and tried
again and still get the same results.

Skip Logic option does not appear

I watched the videos, updated today 12.12.2013, and the option for Skip Logic does not appear when inserting a page break as shown in the video. Is there another add-on that I need to purchase?
This would make matters less confusing for people to check off options so they see only what they need to rather than pages of stuff they do not.
Can someone help me with this, please.

Skip logic is only for "web" forms and not PDF. There are two "View" modes in FormsCentral, "Web View" for designing web forms and "Page View" for designing for PDF, you can use both and distribute both ways, but the options not available in PDF such as Skip logic are not shown in Page View.
To switch to Web View use the "View" menu at the top or click on the "Page View" at the bottom right corner to toggle to Web View.
One other possibility is that you are using the FormsCentral desktop application, if this is the case you need to be signed into the application/service and need the form to be "online" which you can do from the "Collect responses online" tab once signed in.
