Designing and Running CR against XML Web Service

I created a simple XML web service with one method that returns a dataset. This runs on my Windows 2003 Server.The service(.asmx) is called "Applicants". My computer name is aricciardi-2k3s. It runs on port 89 .When I browse to <a href="http://aricciardi-2k3s:89/Applicants.asmx">http://aricciardi-2k3s:89/Applicants.asmx</a>, I am prompted to invoke the webservice and I can run it and everything is great. Further, if I browse to <a href="http://aricciardi-2k3s:89/Applicants.asmx?wsdl">http://aricciardi-2k3s:89/Applicants.asmx?wsdl</a> I get the wsdl info. Now I want to design and run a Crystal Report 11 SR 2 against my web service. I choose New Report, for Data I choose XML, then "Use Web Data Source" hit next, then choose "HTTP WSDL URL" I enter <a href="http://aricciardi-2k3s:89/Applicants.asmx?wsdl">http://aricciardi-2k3s:89/Applicants.asmx?wsdl</a>, hit Next, I leave HTTP username and HTTP password blank. Then I see the Services, Ports and Methods screen. Services: Applicants, Ports: ApplicantsSoap, Methods: GetApplicantsWhen I click Finish, I get Logon Failed, Details, Schema file is invalid. error:Element <a href="mailto:Schema@htttp://www.w3.or/2001XMLSchemal">Schema@htttp://www.w3.or/2001XMLSchemal</a> not foundHow can I get this to work? I can return anything necessary from the web service.Please help. I got some feed back from support that this driver doesn't work with .NET datasets. I would suggest that in your webservice method that you just return an arrary of regular objects that contain the data you need. That should work with this driver I believe. business connector has both IDOC and RFC adapters so it can
receive data from SAP (IDOC, RFC), send data to SAP (IDOC, RFC)
and pull data from SAP (RFC only)

Infopath 2007 and SharePoint 2007 error with Web Service Submit and Recieve

I have an InfoPath form with code. The code submits the form to SharePoint and to SQL DB through Web Service. The form has some workflow. When form is in a "New" state if submits to SharePoint and Database through custom web service. Works fine
from both Client and SharePoint browser form. The database ID is returned to the form and then stored in a field. In second stage of workflow additional fields are shown for Supervisor to fill out. I then have an "update" web service to update the
database. I set all the field values in the Web service then execute both the update Web Service and the SharePoint submit. I get an error (both if running from desktop or SharePoint) Error is
"The string '' is not a valid AllXsd value"
I know sometimes this happens with dates. But I've got all the dates set. The funny thing is in the first submit there are 2 dates in the second submit there is one date. All are set the same and on the first submit no problem submits correct dates to SQL
database through web Service. Second submit has 2 Boolean fields that I also default to a value of false. I've debugged and looked at all the values and everything has a value. I use delete NIL to make sure value in Web Service is set. I can save the data
in the form but not submit it because I get the web service error. If I save the data in form and download it and copy all the values in the XML to my Web Service and invoke the web service works fine. So there is no error in the web service. The first
submit submits both dates and some integer values. The only difference in second is the Boolean value but it is set to default of false for all checkboxes. I'm going out of mind trying to see what could be wrong. Also difference with second
is it sends in the ID of the record that was set in form by result of first submit query sending back the DB value. That value is an integer but I also set correctly.

According to your description, my understanding is that you got an error when you ran report with xml type datasource.
Please set the xml datasource credential to Use Windows Authentication (integrated security). More information, please refer to the link:

Support for XML / Web Service Data Source?

Do you know if and when Crystal Reports for Eclipse will support using the XML / Web Service data source? It appears that only JDBC and Java Result Sets are currently supported. Ok, I copied the JARs (such as CRDBXMLServer.jar) from the JRC SDK (from Eclipse all-in-one) onto the Tomcat classpath and got rid of my previous problem. I now get the stack trace below. Do i need a network card to install and run a local java web server

Friends,
Do i need a network card in my computer to install and run a local Java Web Server or any Web Server.

network cards are only for connecting equipment together... you can set up a webserver without any more equipment than you have already! Indeed Tomcat... BUT you would be better off with apache for production stuff. It depends what you need to serve... if its mainly static pages (i guess it probably isn't) then apache will be enough by itself; but if you need to serve dynamic pages (JSP, Servlet blah blah) then you will need tomcat. Tomcat has it's own webserver and its perfectly ok for testing or low-load stuff, but you can integrate with Apache (a moderately compex task, but do-able, see tomcat-user forum off of apache site) for greater stability, and you don't have to show the port in the URL... Don't set up a webserver on any pc that contains stuff you don't want hacked into... it becomes very succeptible when the service is up...

How to Output Nodes from XML web service to a FLV?

I've used AS3 to query a web service and obtain the resulting XML. I need to parse the result down to just a few nodes for a given location. I can tackle that separately. I am wondering how I output the parsed XML to a flash video file (.flx)? The video has place holders for the XML node values. What do I need to do to place the XML results in the video?

By inserting nodes, I mean that the XML web service returns data for each city, which needs to be parsed to just high temp, low temp and current condition. Those 3 values needed to be dispalyed over, or woven into, the video at each city location. My thought was that AS3 could somehow recognize the 3 placeholders for each city and insert the high temp, low temp and condition icon into each placeholder. However, when I import the FLV file into Flash, there are no elements into which I can infuse this data.

I am using SAP BO Dashboard Design 4.1 SP2.
I have create one web Intelligence report and from it i create web services url using of publish data feature.
when I use this url to create Web service(Qaaws) connection in dashboard It is showing me error " Unable to Load URL "
URL is working fine in browser in server system where i install SAP BO 4.2 but it is not working in my system where i installed dashboard design.
Please suggest how do i make connection using of this URL in dashboard.
Do i miss something or doing wrong ? then guide me.

Are all RFCs and BAPIs automatically exposed as web services?

Hello,
Our product helps business users exchange data with SAP. We use standard RFCs and BAPIs to communicate with SAP. This is a .NET application although my question is not specific to .NET.
It seems SAP obsolete their .NET connector in near future. The emphasis is on web services. This is a great move. We can simply drop using the .NET connector and start using the web services. However, I have a few doubts:
1. RFCs and BAPIs are automatically exposed for remoting. When the customer installs our application, it just works out of the box. Customers do not have to make any configuration changes to SAP to expose RFCs and BAPIs.
In the new world, are all RFCs and BAPIs automatically exposed as web services or one has to go through each RFC/BAPI and expose it explicitly?
2. Is there a comprehensive WSDL schema available anywhere for all the RFCs/BAPIs?
3. Are there any other web services (besides RFCs/BAPIs) that SAP Netweaver exposes? Where can I get more information?

1. "Old" does not mean "bad." Each RFC/BAPI serves a specific function. If some RFC is being obsoleted, there must be a replacement documented somewhere. Is there one?
2. I can look into SE80 (and other transactions) to see what is exposed. However, what I need to understand is what is SAP's stance on exposing standard web services.
Can others please share your thoughts?

Taking a break from pulling out what little hair ai have left.
Install booked Friday 6th Dec - No show. No call, no contact nothing. An iunsulting £10 compensation. Maybe if BT were paying £100 each time they'd stop treating customers so badly. I don't want compensation or at least offer something which is only marginally less insulting then the treatment you get throughout.
I rang BT to find out what was going on.... 30mins of talking to someone i could barely understand then i was cut off. Told an engineer didn't need to call; (why 4 ermail reminders tell me otherwise then???); the engineer would call me Monday and an engineer needed to visit Monday all in the space of 5 mins. They were clueless.
Tried again Monday this week. Live chat...Order managemenbt will contact you by 6pm. Guess what..no call. Emailed begging someone to call me. Called and left me a voivemail to call dialling 150 from a bT handset - Starting to think the wind up is deliberate now. I don't have a phone line!! Also quoted an 0208 number which they rang which has absoluitely nothing to do with me.
Numerous emails later...the mythical order management team will call within 48 hours. Guess what no call. The 48 hours has now passed and I'm just popping some valium before trying again.
You couldn't design and run an organsation this badly if you tried.
