Desired Key Figures

I want to create a query where I want columns to display sales:
Less than INR 500000
Between INR 500001 and INR 1200000
Between INR 1200001 and INR 2500000
Between INR 2500001 and INR 5000000
How do I create this filter or conditions
I have tried using conditions where I defined
Evaluate the conditions displayed below for "single characteristic or combination od characteristics" checked for "Bill to Party" then used the operator 'less than 500000' --> This displays correct KF's.
and when I define another condition by clicking on the "New" button and use the operator 'Between 500001 and 1200000' for a different column I get same KF in both the column.
Experts!!
Can you tell me where I am wrong or what steps should I take to create a query as mentioned above.
Thanks in advance
KS

Dear Akash,
I tried creating formulas but I get the count of the value in a line where the desired figure is displayed.
Say I created a column with KF for Sales, and in the next column I create with the desired filter like KF <= 12000000 and KF > 500000, the data displayed is 1 where the required filter is true and 0 if it is false.
I do not know where I am commiting an error, pl help.

  • Key Figure's Result Summation and SUMGT

Goal: I need to capture the report’s  Results for KF1 and KF2 to use it in the same report for further calculations. However, the report should include into Results calculations only the records that have KF1 or KF2 with values greater than 0.
Potential Solution: Create a Formula that uses Function SUMGT (or SUMCT, SUMRT) on the desired key figures and use conditions at the query level.
KF1 Property:     Calculate Result As SUMMATION
KF2 Property:     Calculate Result As SUMMATION
    Report with No Conditions:
    Year      KF1     SUMGT’KF1’     KF2     SUMGT’KF2’
    2001     10        70                         10        90
    2002     20        70                         20        90
    2003     0          70                         30        90
    2004     40        70                         30        90
    Result   70        70                         90        90
    Report with Conditions:
    KF1 > 0
    or
    KF2 > 0
    Year     KF1     SUMGT’KF1’     KF2     SUMGT’KF2’
    2001    10         70                        10         90
    2002    20         70                        20         90
    2004    40         70                        30         90
    Result  70         70                        60         90
Problem: When Conditions apply the SUMGT (as well as SUMCT and SUMRT) do not take them into consideration and includes in its calculations the excluded records as well.
    Questions:
    1. How can I make SUMGT (or any of the other tow) return a result that take into consideration the specified conditions?  For KF2 the Result should be 60 and NOT 90.
    2. Is there any other way I can capture the Results for KF1 and KF2 when the above specified conditions are implemented?

I think No of repair days is a characteristic..
What you can do is create a formula variable with user input. User will enter no of repair days in it.
Now create a variable on no of repair days of type customer exit.
In the exit read the value of the formula variable and assign it to that variable.
Restrict your key figure no of completed orders with that variable...

  • Sort the Key Figure and put a count on it

    Hi Experts,
I have a  situation where I have to sort the value of the Key Figures in ascending order and put a count on them.
Kindly elaborate me a little on this.
    Thanks in advance,
    Kannan

    Hi Kannan,
If you want to do this setting at the Query Designer level, then select the Properties section for the
desired Key figure say K1.then select the "Calculations " tab.  Under the Local calculations for "Calculate Results as" select "Counter for all detailed values".Save the query.
Open the query (say) at Bex Analyzer. From  the context menu for the key figure K1, select "Properties"-->then under Sorting tab select the required order.
The options mentioned above, i.e  "calculations" and "Sort" is available on web too in the context menu for the key figure.
The above mentioned setting wil be a display setting>You can modify it as per your requirement at Query Designer.
    NOTE:
If your requirement is such that K1, should always display the counter , then while creation of the K1 itself , you can select the Exception Aggregation of Type "Counter(all values)". Then, the setting will be permanent.(design time)
    Hope the information helps!

  • Key Figure Calculation in Transformation

    Hi Experts,
I have what seems like a relatively simple question however I cannot figure out the solution at the moment.  I was hoping someone shed some light on the situation.
I am loading line item detailed information into a DSO with various key figures.  I am loading quota type information into the DSO and need to sum the amount key figure if a specific quota type exists.  For instance:
    Quota Type: 16
    Amount: 15
    Quota Type: 14
    Amount: 5
If an employee has a Quota Type 14 then the Amount value of Quota Type 16 should equal 20 given the values above.
What is the easiest way to write this formula/routine?  I was thinking this had to be done in a routine.
    Thanks,
    DC

    Hi,
If I have understood your requirement correctly ......
What we can do in such a scenario is ......
    1. Make two restricted key fig. in Query designer ..... One for   amount(16) and the other for amount(14)........
    2. Set display mode as 'HIDE' for both of them.... so that we cannot see them in the query output....
    3. Now, make a calculated key fig. and add these two restricted key figs.
    4. This new calculated key fig. will give us the desired result subject to the condition that other characteristics are same .....
I dont think we need to write any code here ......
    Hope it helps ....
Please award points if it helps .....

  • Change Order of key figures

    Hi Gurus,
    We are using BI 7.0. & MS excel 2003 & 2007 both.
I've designed a query with 10 Key figures.
After execution, based on Key figures I have Added Local Formula in query.
Now I want to change the order of Key Figures and bring Newly added Local Formula column at 3rd position.
I've tried using Select Filter... and changed the order of column as I want, but this doesn't work.
I can drag the column & drop it at desired position. It's working that way in office 2003.
But in office 2007, Drag and Drop not working at all. Even for characteristics also.
Is this problem with BEx Excel Patch? I've installed excel patch for both 2003 & 2007. But still not working properly.
Please suggest. If you know latest patch available for office 2003 & 2007, please suggest.
    Thanks.

    HI,
    I am on BI7, Excel 2007
Drag and Drop Functionality for both Char & KF is working fine including the placement of Local Formula.
seems you need to check with the Basis Team for proper installation of the BEx Excel patch

  • How to create a crosstab based on BW Query which has key figure structure

    Hi,
We are on CR 2008 SP1.
We have an existing BW query with custom Characteristics structure in the "Columns" section and a custom Key Fugure structure in the "Rows" section in the BW query designer.
Cell editor has been used to define formulas of the cells.
We wish to build a crystal report on top of the query.
On the crystal report on top of the query we get the characteristics structure and individual key figure elements. As already discussed in multiple fourm posts, this is the expected behaviour.
We are using a cross tab and in the column section, I have put the "Characteristic" structure  in the  "columns" section in the crosstab using the crosstab expert. This leads to horizonatal column headings as per expectation.
Within the characteristics structure we have multiple fields which description "%" with diffeent formula's defined on the BW query designer. On the Cyrtsl Report, when we get the columns in the crosstab, we get only a single "%" field. All other "%" fields are not visible.
    A. Is there a way to get all fields in in case of same description?
I tried putting in the Key Figure elements in the "Rows" section, but was not able to get desired output.
Experts: Can you advice how this report can be built?
    Any help will be appretiated.
    Rgds

I am interested... How did you solve it?

  • Grouping of key figures

    Hi Gurus!
I need your advice. For example in our BEx query we have  a lof of key figures (AB, AS, AD, BS, BD, BG, CF, CA...) in columns. And we would like to disjoint them by additional row with captions A, B, C.. like following:
    A                   B                    C
AB, AS, AD    BS, BD, BG..  CF, CA
So, we need to group key figures. Is it possible in QD?
    Regards, Iryna.

    Hello Iryna,
In QD Create a structure in the column area (right-click and choose "new Structure"
Under new structure create 3 new selection for A, B and C.
Put A before every AB, AS, AD.
Put B before every BD, BG
Put C before every CF, CA
Right-click in AB and choose "Level Down"
Do the same for the other key-figures AS, AD, BD, BG, CF and CA
The query will show with the display desired.
You can create 3 new formulas instead of 3 new selections, where each formula would be for example A = ASADAB.
The level down behaves in the same way with formula or selection.
    Assign points if helpful.

  • Can't change a Restricted Key Figure technical name in QD BEx 7.1.0

A few days ago I created a new Restricted Key Figure in Query Designer and it was autopopulated with a default technical name.  So I immediately changed it to 'ZRNPVORDINTFACTPPP_FY'.
Now, today, I realized that the 'F' in the technical name is a typographical error and I need to remove it.  I clicked the Restricted Key Figure on the left from within the list and clicked the Change/Display pencil icon in the properties window, but the Technical Name field is still greyed out.  Also tried right clicking and selecting Edit, but same problem.
Would removing all instances of where the figure is used in the query and other queries allow me to change it?  Could it be a user rights issue?
As always, thanks for the help!

    Hi,
After creating a RKF , you cannot change its technical name.
If the RKF has a lot of restrictions and creation of another similar RKF is a big process ,
you can create a copy of the same through transaction RSZC.
In RSZC , give the source and target cube name as the name of the multiprovider on which your query is built,
select restricted keyfigure ,click on execute ,  in the list which comes after execute find your KF 'ZRNPVORDINTFACTPPP_FY'
and click on transfer/copy option available.Change the technical name as you want and then click on execute. A similar keyfigure with the desired technical name will be created in query designer ,global keyfigures .
Replace the same with your Old keyfigure in report.

  • How to derive a column (not key figure)

dear all, i am hoping this is going to be a quick on.
i simply need to derive or change a cell's data or description.
it is not a key figure
it's as if i need to access it via an exit and return the desired value.
for example, if the cell says "A" i want to put in "1", if the cell is "B" a "2". as simple as that.
i am stumped whether i do this via a global variable, replacement path, text variable or what ?
any pointers and examples would be great
    thanks
    g

this kind of requirement you cannot do via  global variable, replacement path, text variable .
either do it at the backend in field routine.
    or
THE BEST option is maintain text for values like A ,B etc.
for the infoobject having value as A. MAINTAIN TEXT AS 1.
similarly for  value as B. MAINTAIN TEXT AS 2.
in query designer switch on text in display portion instead of key.

  • Select the Key Figures to be presented in a query before execute the it

    Hi,
I want to select(through checkbox) the Key Figures to be presented in a query before executing the query. I'm creating BEX queries and web templates (I'm working on BEX 7.0).
I haven't found clear post about this so if you have implemented something like this please help me and share your solution.
    Kind regards,
    Ana

    Hi,
If you set a property of your KF as "Hide and can be shown", you will get a filter option for these KFs after executing the report in the navigational block of web report.
When you click on that filter, you will get the list of KFs, then you can select the desired KFs using check box.

  • Misalignment of key figures in export to excel

    Hello Experts,
I have a WAD report with 2 queries (say) Query A and Query B, in this report we are using table interface class for computing the sum of key figures in Query A with Query B and showing in the result row of QueryB
When this report is executed it gives the correct output, but when i export this report to excel, the output of Query B gets mis-aligned.
Please suggest what may be the reason behind this and how should i correct this problem.
We are using MS office Excel 2003.
FYI, for excel export, we're not using the standard feature, rather, using a class : CL_RSR_XLS_HELP_WINDOW_PRINT\
    Regards\
    Priyanka

    OK....!!!!!
just download the Excel file (*.xls) and try open with Word-MS. In the document search by the string that you have mentioned in the question. (Use Ctrl +F).
If you see something like "ABC bla bla ba & instead of  &amp ,  then you have to pass the data through the code I've mentioned.
You can get more details on encoding special characters UTF-8 in Google.com or Sun Websites etc.
You can also encode the & in hexadecimal format to get the desired output.

  • How To Change Key Figure Name

    Hi Gurus,
Is it possible to change the name of a Key Figure in Demand Planning? For example, in DP, i have a Key Figure name 'Sales Forecast'. The 'Sales Forecast' currently appears in every Planning book it was set.
Now, for alignment of understanding, I need to change the name from 'Sales Forecast' to 'Sales Demand' . Basically, i just need to change the text that appear in the Planning book and in the extracted BI reports.
Logic of Key Figure will remain the same. Is this possible? How do I go about this? I only know of how to add a Key Figure but never thought of how to change the Key Figure name/description.
    Thanks in advance!
    Nap

    Hi,
You can change it in 2 ways.
1] Go to each Planning Book in Edit mode.
In that go to a Tab called Key Figure Attributes.
Select your Sales Forecast Key figure from the dropdown   against Key Figure.
Then in Description click the radio button Free Text and give your new name which is Sales Demand.
This you have to do for all the PB in which this KF is used.
    2] Go to RSA1 : Admin Workbench
Under Modeling section go to InfoObject.
Select your KF. Double Click on it. Or right click and go to Change mode.
Then change the Long and Short Description of the KF as desired.
    Save & Activate the KF.
This will change your KF description for all the PB in which you have used the same PA.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Pushkar

  • Selection of key figure(s) from a structure

    Hi,
I have defined a structure in my query that contains several calculated and restricted key figures. When I execute the query I only want that one (or a selection of) key figure(s) from the structure is(are) available in the report. It is also desirable to be able to select another key figures from the structure at run-time of the query. How can I solve this???
    Thanks and regards
    Eivind

    Hi Eivind,
why don't you use BEx filter functionality? It allows you to restrict the drilldown to one or more key figures.
If you are reporting in web browser, you can also create a web template where you select the displayed key figure in dropdown box.
    Best regards,
    Björn

  • Global calculated key figures and their descriptions

Hi, I currently have a strange problem concerning calculated key figures.
We have several global calculated key figures which are used in approx. 100 querys. These key figures have a custom description ( not the same as the underlying keyfig info object).
When we use the calc. key figures in querys we let them take the description from the global key figure (the box 'use Standard text' is checked). When we execute the query, the description of the calculated does not show. As soon as we uncheck the box 'use Standard text' (and thus use 'local' -query level- descriptions) the description does show. Offcourse this is not a solution but merely a workaround, we want the key fig to take its description from the global key figure.
The problem as described above only occures on one of the two development environments. The environment on which the problem occures has support package skw70018(nwv st 16), the environment on which the problem <u>doesn't</u> occure has support package skw70013.

Execute the content at Infoprovider level as below
    Div Team A B C
    A X 2 1 6 9
    A Y 4 2 9 15
    Result Row 6 3 15
If you get same desired result in Infoprovider .. it should come in Report ... Run the report in RSRT (Without cache)
How you built the MP based on single cube or 2 ? Display content in MP for above critieria ... to cross check the report
check the idenfication ... is marked to which cube ?

  • SAP Note 0407563: Key Figure Model versus Account Model in BW

I am reviewing a document on Key Figure Model versus Account Model in BW.
There are a number of references to "SAP Note 0407563", can anyone with access to this note post it here for me to review. Sometimes some otf there links prompt for password.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    <b>SAP Note 0407563</b>
    Symptom
You would like to design a data model for SEM-BPS and you are not sure, whether to use the key figure or the account model.
You are looking for proposals for data modelling.
    Additional key words
bps0, key figure, characteristic, model, data modelling, consultation
    Cause and prerequisites
In the following you find a simple example by means of which the terms key figure and account model are defined.
In the example we want to assign several key figures (for example revenues) to a characteristic (for example customer), whose units (for example currency DM) are identical.A modeling option, which is called key figure model, contains all key figures in one data record.
    Customer Revenue_1 Revenue_2 Revenue_3
    A 10 DM 30 DM  50 DM
In the account model, on the other hand, an additional characteristic is added, which separates the revenue types.
    Customer Type Revenue
    A 1 10 DM
    A 2 30 DM
    A 3 50 DM
Advantages and disadvantages from the point of view of data modelling
You can easily add an additional revenue type in the account model, because you do not have to change the data structure. In the key figure model, on the other hand, you must add an additional key figure to the structure. It actually depends on the frequency of these changes occurring.
A data record that is to be changed by a processor, is exclusively locked by SEM-BPS for this processor.A lock that only concerns individual key figures of a data record is not possible. As a consequence the different revenue types can be changed simultaneously by different processors in the account model, wheras in the key figure model one processor automatically locks all key figures exclusively for his own use.
If you use a planning function in the account or key figure model, a different Customizing is required in general. Consequently, a conversion of the data model leads to a change of Customizing in general.
Advantages and disadvantages from the technical point of view
The transaction data is stored in the BW.Analyses have shown that the read time basically depends on the number and not on the size of the data records. In the above example you can see that by changing the key figure and account model the number of records increases by factor 3, which means that you must expect longer read times. When determining the factor you must take into account that normally not all key figures are used in every record in the key figure model. As a consequence only those records are created when changing to the account model, for which the key figures are not equal to zero.
    Example:
So if in the above example the key figure Revenue_1 is not used, only two records are generated and consequently the value of the factor is also reduced to 2.
After the transaction data has been read from the BW, it is stored in the application server's memory. The amount of memory required depends, among other things, on the number and on the length of the records. The length can be influenced by the data model you choose:in the key figure model the records are longer than in the account model and therefore consume more memory for each record. Therefore, the key figure or account model will require less memory depending on the relationship between record length and number of records.
When the data model is changed, also the planning functions must be revised.Depending on the type of calculation there might be advantages for one of the models.
    Example and rules of thumb
The following example contains 30 key figures, which were mapped to 3 key figures and one additional characteristic with a maximum of 10 characteristic values when you changed to the account model. In both models a price calculation between three key figures each was executed.Consider the specifications in the table as relative specifications:For the number of data records you for example find a and a*10.This means that in the second case the number of data records is larger by factor 10 than in the first case. The determination of the relationships is based on 5000 data records in the key figure model.
Example: all key figures are used (100%)
measured size      :     Key figure model, Account model
    Number data records:      a      ,     a*10
    Read time       :     l      ,     l*10
    Price calculation:      t      ,     t*9
    Data record length:      d*4      ,     d
    Memory requirement :     m      ,     m*3
Example: Key figures are partially used (20%)
measured size      :     Key figure model ,Account model
    Number data records :          a      ,     a*2
    Read time           :     l      ,     l*2
    Price calculation      :     t      ,     t*2
    Data record length      :     d*4      ,     d
    Memory requirement      :     m      ,     m*0,8
    How are the sizes determined?
Read the related notes for details on the use of the statistics.
    1. a: In the statistics of SEM-BPS or BW this value is stored when you execute a planning function. The method has the name 0-DB1.
    2. l: The above statistical record also contains the execution time.
    3. t: In the statistics of SEM-BPS a record is stored for the planning function. The overall runtime of the planning function contains the database time. Therefore the database time must be subtracted from the runtime of the planning function to determine t.
    4. d: The data record length corresponds to the data structure length (ABAP length), which is generated for every area. The name is made up as follows:
      Prefix:  /1SEM/_YS_DATA_
      Client: mmm
      Name of the area: gggggggg
The client must always be specified with three digits, the area only in its actual length. The name for an area called 'MYAREA' which is in client 001 is for example /1SEM/_YS_DATA_001MYAREA.When you determine the length, note that there is the dictionary and the ABAP length (Transaction SE11 => Extras => Structure width => ABAP length) and that the total of the two structures contained must be determined. In the structure stated above, for example /1SEM/_YS_CHAS_001MYAREA and /1SEM/_YS_KYFS_001MYAREA are contained. The total is the length you are looking for.
    5. m: After executing the planning function, start Transaction STAD and find the appropriate statistical record for the dialog step, in which you have executed the planning function. The record contains a memory specification, which is the desired value for s.
    Solution
Bear in mind that the values from the example are not generally valid, but were determined from a specific example. We recommend that you determine the parameters (both the values of the variables and of the relationships) for your specific case and to use it as the basis for discussion. You should not choose too few data records, because the fixed memory consumers predominate otherwise.
