Desktop setup for OAFramework

Hi All,
I am trying to setup OAFramework on my desktop so I would like to download all the files from $JAVA_TOP.But I see that all the .class files are to be downloaded in binary mode and all the .xml files in ascii mode. Is there a way to say that all the .class files should be in binary and .xml files in ascii while downloading (FTP or PUTTY).
Thanks,
Naveen.

Hi,
There are tool available on Net like WS_FTP which give you the option to download the file as per you need.
Also go through this thread. It will really helps you.

  • Apple Remote Desktop Setup for Exernal Networks

    Hi there ,
i would like to setup apple remote desktop 3 in the office to control 6 Macs ( external Networks ) in 6 different places via Internet .
Do i need to buy a server or would it be enough to buy a Mac Pro - which setup would i need .

A server will do nothing for you, since ARD isn't a server-based application, per se. You can run a copy of ARD as a task server for a few functions (report gathering and software updates is about it), but that doesn't require Mac OS X Server or even a very fast Mac, just a second copy of ARD.

  • Create a 1-click setup for a Remote Desktop session for non-tech users

    Hi everyone,
I know how to configure a VPN or use port forwarding for VNC, ARD, etc. and know about iChat's Screen Sharing feature and sites like LogMeIn. But I'm looking for something special here. This is the situation:
    • A user calls me for help and I would prefer a Remote Desktop session
    • He's usually behind a NAT router which hasn't been set up to allow remote access
    • He's absolutely NOT tech savy
So I'd like to have an easy way to allow me to initiate a Remote Desktop session (ARD/VNC) with as little user interaction needed as possible. I don't want to walk him through reconfiguring his router on the phone!
I was thinking of using iChat's Screen Sharing first. But I'd need to create a jabber account, save iChat's preference file, maybe pack it into a little "Installer" and mail it to him. So all he needs to do is double-click it and run iChat afterwards and accept me.
But this is a little too much for my taste and I'm wondering if there isn't already a "best practice" or something like that. Any ideas or suggestions?
    Thanks a lot!
    Björn

I've recently started using TeamViewer. If you can walk a person through going to http://www.teamviewer.com and clicking on "Start Full Version" and getting them to download it and run it, then you're good to go. It's cross-platform both ways so you can control a Mac from a PC and a PC from a Mac in addition to M-M and P-P. If they're on a PC, the download is an executable which when they double-click it, asks them if they'd like to run it or install it. Just have them run it and in a few seconds they will have an ID number and random password generated that they can tell you over the phone. Then you type it into your TeamViewer app and you're controlling their screen. If they're on a Mac, the download is a disk image so you have them mount it and then just run the app directly from the disk image. Once you're connected you can fully install the app for future use or just help them out. It's pretty much the simplest cross-platform control system I've found to deal with situations where it's not already setup for me to support. On top of all that, it's free for personal use!

  • Project setup for a mobile and desktop application including native extensions (ANE)?

I'm using Flash Builder 4.6 and I want to develop an application that is deployed to mobile and desktop devices. Therefore I tried a setup with three projects; one desktop project for Windows and Mac OSX, one mobile project for iOS and Android and also one library project for shared resources. The library project is used in the mobile and desktop project. Afterwards I placed all stuff like AS classes and UI components in the library project and instanciate them in the devices project. This works so far. (As consensus decision-making I used Flex components that are available vor mobile and desktop.)
But If I want to use native extensions (ANE) like a DLL for Windows or a gyroscop for mobile devices, then I can't add the ANE to the library project. I have to add the ANE file separately to each device project and build a separate UI components. Is this the way it's intend to use ANE files? Is there an even simpler approach?
Or is there a completly different way, e.g. setup just one common project (instead of three) and use different skins for mobile and desktop?
Your answer is appreciated. (Including links to documentation and tutorials.)

  • Setting up Remote Desktop Apps for access from a Mac with 2FA

    Hi
Setting up Remote Desktop Apps for access from a Mac with 2FA.
I have a server 2012 remote access gateway, with remote apps published(which uses single signon), behind a 2FA connection (web based) and want to know if its possible to allow macs to connect to the remote Apps behind it. i cannot permanently remove any
of the above setup as it is a requirement.
When i connect from a mac i can login to both the 2FA and remote access web pages and see all the apps but when i click on any app it downloads it to the mac and when i try to run it using Remote Desktop App for MAC i get an error :
"httpendpointexception: 4, The non-proxy http connection failed to connect with the message: 500 internal Server Error."
I have tried with 2fa turned off for testing and get the same result.Does it support 2012 TSGW server? does it support Remote desktop apps? as i cant find a definitive answer on either.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
From Error description it seems to be a communication issue between your Mac and your RD gateway server. If you connect from extranet, you may need Remote Desktop Gateway or a VPN/Direct Access connection to your intranet, or forward port 3389 on your router.
500 Internal Server Error seems to be a HTTP related error.
The HTTP status code in IIS 7.0, IIS 7.5, and IIS 8.0
Also, please double check the settings if you have a RD gateway implemented in you intranet.
    http://redmondmag.com/articles/2013/12/24/rd-gateway-in-windows-server.aspx
In Windows Server 2012 R2 RD Gateway pluggable authentication is also introduced. This allows custom authentication routines to be used with RD Gateway. For example building a two-factor solution on top of RD Gateway is now possible which allows doing token-authentication
to the RD Gateway which works seamlessly with RD Web Access or RDP file launching.
Please check below article for more information.
Windows Server 2012 R2 is coming what does this add to RDS – VDI
In addition, please provide the log file from the client for further research.

    Hope it helps!

Using this xorg.conf file, only my NEC LCD analog monitor could display KDE while the Samsung digital can't.
    Any suggestions?

Thanks for your help guys, I'm halfway there.
The second monitor shows the KDE desktop, but it isn't exactly what I expected.  Right now, both monitors display at 1024x768 (each) or 2048x768 (total).  The larger monitor stretches and distorts the display of 1024x768 to its natural resolution at 1440x900 and it isn't what I wanted.  Other than that, the dual desktop setup behaves what I expected to.
Here's a snippet of my xorg.conf that currently works:

  • Disk setup for Laptop on Premiere Pro CS6

So, I have read the guidlines on disk setup but I feel that it is geared towards a desktop setup. I would like to know how do I setup a laptop that has the three (3) HDD bays. I only have two drives on it and I am looking forward to buy a new one depending on how you guys reccomend it is set up. My OS disk is 128gb Crucial M4 and the second drive is a 7200 750GB seagate momentus xt. Which will eventually become:
    OS - 128gb SSD
    Source - 750gb drive
    Render - ?????
    External - cache/export/storage
Should I go for another 7200 drive of the same kind or should I remove it and go for SSD for both source and render? Thank you very much for any help.

Good, that is a strong laptop spec.
I'd vote to go with a second matching Momentus in bay 3 for sure.
Suggest you buy it, configure it, and test it out to see if you have the drive speed with your workflow to max out your cores (monitor w/ task mgr) with just the two internal drives and nothing external. I don't have much personal experience with your particular codec (sounds like Canon DSLR?), but I suspect that you will be CPU bound more than disk I/O with this setup.
Your eSATA extrernal drive or array may only be needed for backups. If it does turn out you are want or need even more drive performance, configure the two 7200 rpm drives as a RAID 0 in the laptop and bundle with something (single 7200 or G-RAID mini) coupled externally.

  • Setup for discoverer table for showing number of Rows and columns of Report

As oracle discoverer report show "Rows 1-25 of"(Total rows) and "Column 1-6 Of"(Total Column).
This total rows and columns information's is not appearing on our reports.
Kindly let us know its setting/setups .
This is very urgent to us, Any help will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks, Avaneesh

Hmm, what version of Discoverer are you on? Do I understand you correctly that you are able to run a Discoverer report and see this rows and columns information? What software are you running when you do this - Viewer, Plus, or Desktop? Where is this showing up - the top of the report maybe? Or maybe the bottom of the report? The only thing I can think of to handle this is the Page Setup for a workbook, and looking at the Header and Footer sections of that setup. But I am on Discoverer 10.1.2.2 and I don't see anything I can insert on the header/footer that would show this kind of information. Desktop will let you do Page x of y pages (Plus does not), but that is not what you are seeing. You can maybe look at the page setup and see if there is something there not documented in the Discoverer guides.

  • Multiple chrome windows on a multiple monitor, multi-desktop setup?

    Dear all,
I'm having this huge headache because I have a dual monitor setup (imac 27" + second 24" monitor) and I have configured 6 different desktops in it (mountain lion here) where each desktop dual monitor scene has a chrome window (with several tabs each) on each monitor. I do this because i work 90% on SaaS's and as such I need this multi-desktop setup with chrome spread all over it.
Problem: Everytime i reboot the system, all those crhome windows get back to desktop 1 (on both monitors) and I have to painstakingly put each chrome window one by one back into each desktop again. Its really a PITA.
Solution: Anyone can tell me a workaround for this or if I am missing some OSX or chorme trick or tweak that will make the system "remember" where each chrome windows was in each desktop + monitor?
    Thanks in advance!

    Peggy,
We have been running 3 separate Forte environments on one server (dev,
test, prod) for over a year now. The environments have been at
different Forte release levels at various times. Darrell is right on
target with the UNIX links and separate fortedef.sh files for each
environment. The links will help reduce disk space. Follow his
instructions and you should be good to go. We have each Forte
environment point to its own database instance also. You can set the
environment variables in each fortedef.sh file to do this. If you keep
multiple versions of Forte on a windows client machine, you will have to
switch the Forte.ini file before starting Forte.
As for security and auditing, I not sure what you are looking for here.
Our application has security and auditing but that it.
Keep in mind, that each Forte environment will be competiting for system
resources on the same server. When we have 3 environments running, we
notice a performance hit. Try to use as few resources as you can. For
example, our test and production environments do not require a
repository server, since we test deployed. So do not start these
    processes.
    Good luck.

  • IMAP setup for .Mac account and Gmail

I've been trying to use my .Mac account and Gmail with mixed results. I have been using Mac mail for some time and have my folder structure setup for personal and work. Now I want to add a work Gmail account and simply have a separate inbox for the Gmail account. I store messages from both accounts into the folders I have in the .Mac account.
Gmail caused all sort of issues using IMAP in this structure, basically creating another series of folders below the .Mac folder tree. The inbox structure was fine and I could stored Gmail messages into the .Mac folders. But there were duplicate copies of the messages in the Gmail IMAP structure. I wasn't sure if I should just delete the Gmail structure, but the duplicates were driving me crazy whenever I did a message search.
Now I've backed Gmail down to POP and I have all sort of sync problems between my laptop and desktop systems. On my laptop it shows no mail, but when I check Gmail. There is mail in my inbox.
Does anyone have an idea about how to use two IMAP accounts successfully in Apple Mail?

Okay. This has got to be a common issue. And I think I have it solved.
The secret is using an IMAP prefix of "IMAP" and then creatin labels of "IMAP/Foldername" on Gmail.
It's all generously explained on these links:
First setup IMAP on Google like this: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=77663&topic=12814

  • Setup for a Law Firm

    Greetings:
I'm starting a new law firm and I would like to have a Mac environment. The only "software" that I will need is Quickbooks, Microsoft Office, and maybe Parallels. Here is the setup I am looking to purchase. I would appreciate any suggestions, comments, etc.
    1) Server - Mac Mini maxed out with Snow Leopard Server;
    2) Time Capsule and/or RAID card attached to the Server (we're in Florida and we get a lot of storms that pass through, so I have to mitigate the down-time as much as possible); and,
    3) iMac workstations (maximum=10).
I'm not an IT professional, but I have been tasked to handle the IT setup for the new law firm and I have been using Macs for the past five years. I love the product and think it can work at our small, boutique law firm.
We will be hosting our website and email through a third-party company, so the Server will not be used for anything but calendaring with iCal, storing our clients' addresses and phone numbers in Address Book Server, and probably some iChat and Wiki pages. Most of our "law firm" software will be web based and I have already done research regarding compatibility. If there is anything else that you guys could think of, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks for your help and suggestions.

I run my 6-person firm off an Xserve and a bunch of iMacs. We also have an old Cube that functions as a fax server and employee timeclock.
On the Xserve, we have the OS on one drive, and the data on a mirrored RAID. Everything gets backed up onto an external firewire drive a couple times a day. There are 3 backup drives, and they get rotated once a week so that the most recent one is off-site. We also keep an off-site clone of the boot drive. It's all protected by a Zywall firewall (which also provides VPN service for the network) and a large APC UPS.
We also have a Dell server that runs some software that is only available on the PC side. We access it from the iMacs via Microsoft Remote Desktop and terminal services. We're considering the possibility of replacing this machine with Parallels Server when we upgrade to one of the new Intel Xserves.
The hardware was a tremendous investment for a small firm like ours, but except for one failed ADM (which we were able to replace under warranty with zero downtime and zero lost data) it has been rock solid in 4+ years of continuous operation.
The Server OS is a very different animal. Having been a true Mac fanatic for 15 years and having read Apple's own OS X Server Essentials from cover to cover, I thought I was ready to do everything myself. I was wrong. I picked my way through it, but it took the entirety of a long weekend to do it, and I ended up going back a few months later and starting over to correct some things I still hadn't gotten right. If you don't have server experience it might be worth hiring a consultant, at least for the purpose of getting you up and running. Whatever he charges will probably be less than the amount of billable time you'll probably lose trying to do it yourself.
I'd have a real hard time trusting my livelihood to a Mini. An Xserve may be overkill, but I'd seriously consider at least getting a Mac Pro--even a used or refurbished one if cost is an issue.
I don't have any personal experience with QuickBooks, although from the discussion on MacInTouch this week it sounds horrible. You may also want to read some of the posts about Address Book Server; I don't think it does what you think it will do. (I was certainly dismayed.)
I would encourage you to take a good look at FileMaker. It's fairly easy to learn, and we keep finding new ways to use it in our practice. (So far we have databases to: check conflicts; manage open and closed files; track incoming phone calls; index and store CLE materials; automate document assembly for probates, mechanic's liens, and collections; and index and store a library of contract clauses.)
Apple Remote Desktop is an essential tool for keeping everything running smoothly.
With so much happening electronically, Adobe Acrobat Pro is quickly becoming as indispensable as MS Word. If you hope to be "paperless," you'll probably also want Fujitsu ScanSnaps on every desk.
I've been watching the "cloud" services with some interest, but at this point I just can't bring myself to trust them. At this point, very few of them work by mirroring what you have stored locally, so I can't help but wonder how you get your data back when they fail.
Starting your own firm is certainly exciting. We all do things differently, of course, but I hope some of this is helpful to you. Good luck.
