Desktop worry

Question

I create a signed jar file which read write a few file on the disk. (it's signed, remember, so it has right..)
The problem is I just read/write this files in the current directory, assuming that's the application directory.
when it's run as an application, that's fine.
but when it's run through WebStart, the current directory is the desktop and I create 2 files on the desktop, which would certainly upset the user.
So my worry is either:
1. change the current directory of execution of JNLP or,
2. know the working directory of an application and have absolut path access instead of relative ones...
any idea or comment ?

So my worry is either:
1. change the current directory of execution of JNLPWhen Launched from a shortcut, the current directory can be specified in the shortcut properties, but defaults to null when javaws creates the shortcut. When launched from a browser, the current directory depends on what the current directory was when the browser was launched. (if browser was launched via shortcut, dir is in it's shortcut's property)
It might be beter if Java Web Start, when launched from a browser, would set the current directory to something the application could rely on, such as either the value of the system directory user.home, or a temp directory relitive to the cache location.
or,
2. know the working directory of an application and
have absolut path access instead of relative ones...An application can easily get around this by creating it's own working directory, and for portability across platforms can make a sub directory of either user.home or some other system property.
