Detail table refreshing without partial trigger!!!

Hi,
my Jdeveloper version is 11.1.2.3.0
I have a master detail structure on my page and i have two weird behaviors (that i guess are related).
I created the master detail tables in the classic way:
I dragged the master data control and doped it on the page as an ADF table (id t1)
Then i dragged the detail data control (from inside the master data control) and drop it as an ADF table (id t2).
I verified that the partial trigger property of the detail table does not contain the id of the master table (t1).
however (the first weird behavior), at run time, the detail table shows always the right information of the selected master row.
How can this happen?
The second weird behavior is that i have createInsert button (created by drag and drop of the createInsert operation of the dataControl) in the toolbar of the master table.
If i create a new row and fill the required data then navigate to another row, the detail table is refreshed correctly and shows the details of the newly selected row, but if i go back (re-select) the newly created row the detail table does not refresh and still shows the detail of the previous master row!!! (furthermore, i have input date in this newly create row, so if, at this stage, i click on the calendar icon to open it, the calendar doesn't open)
I'm i doing something wrong? or should i change any property of the tables?
Thanks for your help

Hi Timo,
Thank you for your reply.
Actually no, i didn't commit the new record at this point and this is the problem.
If i commit the new record (using the commit button created from the commit operation of the module), the page refreshes and works correctly.
The problem occurs if i change the selected row (and then re-selected the newly created row) before committing the changes.
Concerning the auto PPR, do you think that deactivating it may help? and if yes, how can i deactivated for this page only?
I tried to change the "change event policy" property of both the master and the detail iterator in the page binding from ppr to "non" but nothing changed. The detail table still refreshes, and the problem with newly created master row still appears.
One adiitinal note: i downloaded the sample from Andrejus Baranovskis's Blog
http://andrejusb-samples.blogspot.com/2009/03/jdevadf-sample-create-operation-for.html
and the page is working correctly. I also created a jsf page in this project with master detail using the same method i used in my project and this pages also works correctly.
So this means that the problem is with the verision of jdev no? but what what is it???
Thank you again

  • Master - details data population using partial trigger

    Hi,
    Iam using jdeveloper 10.1.3.4.0
    My requirement is I need to populate a field in master when i enter a value in detail column using partial triggers.
    I have taken Employee table as master and job table as detail. In the detail table i have taken 2 columns and one transient variable column when i enter values in that 2 columns the transient column is populating value using partial triggers but it is not populating the value in the master column though i have a given a partial trigger to it.

    Thanks for your response. But I dont understand your question. How to test that in Tester.
    I simply did the following. I created Department as master and Employee as Details recrods. And I created ADF form for Department and Employees for ADF table. And i put autosubmit = true and valueChangelistener for the Employees Salary field in the following way.
    <af:inputText value="#{row.Salary}"
    required="#{bindings.DepartmentsView1EmployeesView3.attrDefs.Salary.mandatory}"
    columns="#{bindings.DepartmentsView1EmployeesView3.attrHints.Salary.displayWidth}"
    binding="#{backing_View.inputText14}"
    id="inputText14"
    autoSubmit="true"
    valueChangeListener="#{backing_View.valueChange}">
    And Enable the partial trigger for PhonenUmber field in Employee Records and DepartmentName in Department Master record.
    <af:inputText value="#{row.PhoneNumber}" simple="true"
    required="#{bindings.DepartmentsView1EmployeesView3.attrDefs.PhoneNumber.mandatory}"
    columns="#{bindings.DepartmentsView1EmployeesView3.attrHints.PhoneNumber.displayWidth}"
    binding="#{backing_View.inputText11}"
    id="inputText11"
    partialTriggers="inputText14"/>
    <af:inputText value="#{bindings.DepartmentName.inputValue}"
    label="#{bindings.DepartmentName.label}"
    required="#{bindings.DepartmentName.mandatory}"
    columns="#{bindings.DepartmentName.displayWidth}"
    binding="#{backing_View.inputText5}" id="inputText5"
    partialTriggers="inputText14">
    And the following code is added in my BackingBean.
    public void valueChange(ValueChangeEvent valueChangeEvent) {
    inputText11.setSubmittedValue(null);
    inputText11.setValue(inputText14.getValue());
    inputText5.setSubmittedValue(null);
    inputText5.setValue(inputText14.getValue());
    My phone number field in the Multirecord block that is Details record is shown the value, But single record block that is Department's Department Name field is not shown the Value.
    Kindly let me know if i did any mistakes.
    Thanks

  • Master-details tables with popup edit form : popup doesn't zynchronized

    In first, we don't use "Task Flow".
    We have 1 table master and 1 table details.
    Each of these tables shows an Edit button to open a popup formular.
    This formular is based on the same view object than the table below.
    The trouble is that :
    1. The user moves the current row on the table "Master".
    The table "Detail" refreshes automatically (partial trigger based on the table "Master").
    Click on the Edit Button, on table "Detail" shows the popup formular on current detail row.
    2. The user changes the current row on the table "Master".
    The table "Detail" refreshes automatically (partial trigger based on the table "Master").
    But, Click on the Edit Button, on table "Detail" shows the popup formular on the same previous detail row. The trouble is that the popup formular is not correctly refreshed.
    Failed Tries :
    We add a partial trigger on the detail popup formular, based on :
    a) an item from the Master Table
    b) the MasterTable
    c) the Detail Table
    Without success.

    On the popup control, try switching the popup's contentDelivery property to lazyUncached.

    I have some question about PPR .
    In our case
    Our forms main commit button is full_submit = true
    We added create insert button of detail view to the partial trigger of table.
    1. do we need to add froms main commit button to the detail table's partial trigers.
    2. is there any circular dpendecy between PPR . if we add a partial target to the table do we need to add this trigger to the columns.
    in our case the question is
    do we need to add create insert button of detail view to the partial triiger of cascade list items' partail triggers.
    Thanks.

  • Master & detail table in one transaction

    Experts,
    I am useing 11g 11.1.1.4 and ADF BC, I have thought about this question quite for a while.
    I have a master & detail constructure in one page, master as af:form and detail as af: table.
    The master is 'booking' table (booking_id, create_date, create_user, user_contact) ,
    and detail is 'booking_line' table ( booking_id, booking_det_id, booking_weight, booking_volume, booking_type)
    According to my customer, user have to enter the master and detail data in one transaction and once user clicked the 'Submit booking' (actually is 'commit' operation),
    the system need to check at least one detail line have been entered by user, otherwise the error message issued and return back to the current page. how this one can be done? Thanks!

    Thanks a lot M.Jabr!
    I have used your suggestion as follwoing:
    public String cb3_action() {
    BindingContext bindingctx = BindingContext.getCurrent();
    BindingContainer bindings = null;
    bindings = bindingctx.getCurrentBindingsEntry();
    DCBindingContainer bindingsImpl = (DCBindingContainer) bindings;
    DCIteratorBinding dciter = null;
    //access the iterator by its ID value in the PageDef file.
    dciter = bindingsImpl.findIteratorBinding("BookingDetOlVO1Iterator");
    ViewObject vo= dciter.getViewObject();
    long rowsCount= vo.getEstimatedRowCount();
    if (rowsCount > 0) {
    OperationBinding operationBinding = (OperationBinding)bindings.getOperationBinding("Commit");
    Object result = operationBinding.execute();
    if (!operationBinding.getErrors().isEmpty())
    return null;
    return "BookingDone";
    } else {
    FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    FacesMessage msg = new FacesMessage(FacesMessage.SEVERITY_ERROR, null, "Please enter at least one Booking Detail line");
    context.addMessage(null, msg);
    return null;
    but there is another propblem after testing, I found if user just click the 'createInsert' operation in detail table. but without enter any values for some required fields, then can still - return "BookingDone"; that's means the required validation are skipped. any suggestion?

  • Master/Details tables with CASCADE delete giving "table mutating" error

    Hi,
    I have two tables in a master/details configuration (table 1 is "master", table 2 is "details").
    The details has a FK contraint relation to the master with a CASCADE delete (so when the master is deleted, all associated details are deleted).
    The master table has a column "last_updated_datetime" which is updated by a master table update trigger whenever most (excluding the last_updated_datetime column) columns are updated.
    The details table has an update trigger which also updates the master table's last_updated_datetime column (whenever a detail row is changed).
    The details table also has a delete trigger which also updated the master table's last_updated_datetime column (whenever a detail row is deleted).
    The problem I have is: When the master record is deleted, which cascade deletes the details record(s), the delete trigger on the details table throws a "table is mutating" error.
    I understand that the "mutating" error is "correct" because the master record is being deleted.
    But is there some way I can get around this problem (for example, having the details table delete trigger not update the master table last_updated_datetime) when it's this cascade delete?
    Thanks for your help!

  • Detail Table Not Changing When Master Table Selection Changes

    Using JDev 11.1.1.6.
    I am working through some Oracle tutorials (Storefront Demos).
    I am accessing the Fusion Order Demo (FOD) schema.
    I have created VOs based on BCs for Categories, Subcategories and Products.
    I have added all to my data model and tested functionality using the AppModule.  This works as expected.
    When I drag the Subcategories onto my jsf page as Master-Detail (Table-Table), the initial list is based on the first index of the BrowseCategory data control.
    When I click on another row in the master table, the detail table refreshes but the same data appears.
    I confirmed that the selection changes on the master table.
    I added a button on the page and checked the BrowseCategoryIterator using some backing bean code and the iterator remains on the first record.
    I checked the SelectionListener on the table and it is set correctly as   "#{bindings.BrowseCategory1.collectionModel.makecurrent}"
    Does anyone have any idea why the detail table is not getting updated based on a relationship to the master table?
    Thanks,
    Raymond

    Hi,
    From what you are saying:
         1. it's working in application module tester
         2. you verified the current row of the iterator and you found that it is stuck on the first row
    The problem is then that the selection in the table is not setting the current row in the iterator.
    Try to add a custom selection listener where you just execute the "#{bindings.BrowseCategory1.collectionModel.makecurrent}" expression. this is just to make sure that the listener is being called.
    Also, the problem might be that the current row is correctly set by the table selection, but later in the life cycle it is being reset. so maybe you can also overwite the methods that set the current row in your VOimpl (again by jsut calling the supper) to check if and when these methods are called.

    Elias.

  • Master table, detail table, detail table not getting refreshed selection

    i have a page where i am displaying data as master table and detail table. both table VOs are based on SQL queries which use bind variables.
    i have a view link between vos of type 1:M
    i created master table detail table page by dropping detail iterator from data control panel under master and selecting master table detail table
    on my page i see detail table records getting populated only for first record of parent table.
    on changing parent record, child table shows same records and does not refresh
    i am using partial triggers on both tables to be populated on a button click as i need to pass some bind variables to VOs which are taken as input from users
    how can i show corresponding rows in detail table when parent record in table changes
    will i have to use table selection listener
    is it possible declaratively to have master detail table view when both VOs have bind variables

  • Af:Table data refresh without calling ManagedBean constructor

    Hi,
    I have an adf application jspx page where I have af:selectOneChoice and af:table showing default data. On selecting af:selectOneChoice value (assigned, completed etc.) I am calling managed bean method which calls task flow client api which gets the task details based on af:selectOneChoice value and show in the adf table.
    When ever I change the af:selectOneChoice value, first it is callling 'valueChanged(ValueChangeEvent valueChangeEvent)' method in managed bean and able to get the records based on filter value(Example: Assigned). Issue is immediatly after that Managed bean constructor also calling which overrides the previous query and get the records based on default filter value (Example: All).
    here is <af:selectOneChoice & <af:table code:
    <af:selectOneChoice id="rsoc" autoSubmit="true"
    binding="#{backingBeanScope.backing_taskdetails.rsoc}"
    label="Status" valueChangeListener="#{backingBeanScope.backing_taskdetails.valueChanged}">
    <f:selectItem itemValue="A" itemLabel="All" />
    <f:selectItem itemValue="AG" itemLabel="Assigned" />
    <f:selectItem itemValue="C" itemLabel="Completed" />
    </af:selectOneChoice>
    <af:table emptyText="#{bindings.taskList.viewable ? 'No data to display.' : 'Access Denied.'}"
    var="row" columnStretching="multiple"
    value="#{backingBeanScope.backing_taskdetails.taskList}"
    immediate="false" rowSelection="single"
    binding="#{backingBeanScope.backing_taskdetails.t1}"
    id="t1"
    inlineStyle="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; border:0pt none; "
    partialTriggers="::rsoc">
    Here partialTriggers is invoking managed bean. So Can I refresh only table data without calling managed bean constructor on selection of <af:selectOneChoice?
    Any inputs will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply.

    I am not using adf taskflow (Should I use this, I am not sure as I am new to ADF. Please suggest). My execution flow is I have 'Human Task SOA application' which I am calling from adf application (managed bean --> workflow cllient API --> Human Task SOA Application) and showing task details in cutom UI screens. I do not want to use BPM worklist application as I need my own screens.

  • Master table / detail table: Problem refreshing the content

    Hi,
    I have a Master table/detail table on my page. When I add a new row to the master or detail table, the new row is inserted in the database, but not shown in the ADF Tables on the page. After restarting the OC4J the ADF Tables show the correct data, including the new rows.
    While dropping the collection on my page there were one methodIterator and two accessorIterators created.
    In several tutorials the solution for the refresh problem is to change the chacheResult parameter of the methodIterator to false. But this causes in "No row found for rowKey:null" errors.
    An other solution should be to create a new invokeAction with the id "tableRefresh" and the corresponding RefreshConditions. This doesn't helps, too.
    So how could I solve this problem? I want to update/refresh the master and detail table, after I inserted a new row.
    Thanks,
    Thomas

    Hi,
    thanks for your answer.
    Sorry, but I forgot to say, that I am using Jdev 10.1.3.1, Toplink, ADF and EJB3.
    I think I will give some further informations about the scenario. I created the m/d table by drag-and-droping the object out of the data control palette on site A. Each row stores a goLink item, which navigates to a new page B. After creating and saving the new entry the user navigates back to the page with the m/d table (page A). Storing the new entry is handled by an action in the page B managed bean.
    Now the question: How could I re-execute in page B backing bean the iterator which is stored in page A? Could this be handled by an invokeAction? Or is it possible to get access to the iterator used and stored on another page (definition)?
    Thanks,
    Thomas

  • Can the Performance Detail reports be exported as PDF without the Detail Table?

    We previously generated significant numbers of Performance Detail reports out of SCOM 2007 R2 as PDF files, and the 'Detail Table' did not show.
    Now that we are on SCOM 2012 R2, the same reports show the 'Detail Table' when exported to PDF. We report on 6 to 12 months of data, so these tables are huge, and are also useless for our purposes.
    Is there some way to suppress the Detail Table when exporting a Performance Detail report to PDF?

  • Matser Table/Detail Table -- Hide detail panel when no row

    Hi,
    I would like to hide the detail panel when the user selects a row in the master table without detail.
    I try to put something like this:
    <af:panelHeader
    rendered="#{bindings.MyView2.estimatedRowCount>0}">
    But it does not work, instead the previous detail rows are display when there is no detail rows for the master row.
    I need to to press a button <af:commandButton text="Apply change"/> , to render the page correctly.
    The selection facet used in the master table is defined as follow:
    <f:facet name="selection">
    <af:tableSelectOne autoSubmit="true"></af:tableSelectOne>
    </f:facet>
    Where am I wrong, it is my first project with ADF ?
    Any help will be appreciate,
    Thanks,

    Well not really clear if it's a bug or not, but here's two workarounds:
    1- the table is surrounded by a panelCollection, if we add a partial trigger from the panelCollection to the table, on every change of row selection the table refreshes itself.
    2- The second option was to remove the primary keys from the entity, and force it to use RowId as the primary key.
    This is such a weird behavior in ADF, it's one of the basic things that one will do in an application. We tried to do a test on a smaller app and it gave the same results.
    Here's the scenario:
    Master/detail linked by two keys
    Master PK (key1, key2)
    Detail PK (key1, key2, key3) => key1 and key2 are the link between the tables.
    If anyone can reproduce this and confirm if it's a bug, it would be greatly appreciated.

  • Af:query search button partial trigger

    Experts,
    Having an af:query with table in Jdev 11.1.1.5 page, how can we make the table visible/invisible if the table is empty. I can put
    #{bindings.Details.estimatedRowCount > 0 }  in my table visible property, but how to put a partial trigger from the default search button in the af:query to the table

    I donot think you will need to add a partialTrigger separately. The resultComponentId attribute of the af:Query (which should reference the results table) should take care of this .
    From the documentation http://jdevadf.oracle.com/adf-richclient-demo/docs/tagdoc/af_query.html >
    resultComponentId : ....Product teams should ensure that this value is set correctly so that the search operation triggers a partial page refresh of the componenEdited by: Sudipto Desmukh on May 8, 2012 6:48 PM

  • ADF master-detail master selection not updating detail tables properly

    Hi All,
    I am using JDev version : 11.1.2.0.0
    I created new Fusion Web Application Module. In that module I created a master-detail data model and added them to a page fragment with a query panel. When I run it as a separate module, It works perfectly and Master selection correctly updates detail tables.
    But when I integrate that module to another Fusion Application(Add application jar file to the Master Application libraries), Master-details master selection not updating detail tables properly. This problem occurred sequentially.
    The problem is that.
    After the page load, first selection of the Master Table works correctly and detail tables update correctly.
    But second selection doesn't work, means detail table doesn't get update according to the Master table.
    And again in the third selection works correctly.
    This happens in a sequential manner. I monitor the behavior using Firebug. Observations are as follows,
    When running correctly, Response of the Post Definition is

    I could not figure out what went wrong when integrating to another module.
    Can you please help me to rectify this problem.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    sound to be an implementation specific issue that is hard to comment on without knowing how to reproduce it. If you have a rerooducible test case based on the Oracle HR schema using JDeveloper 11.1.1.6, zip it up, rename the "zip "extension to "unzip" and sent it to the mail address you find in my OTN profile. If you don't have that test case, explain how this can be reproduced
