Details picker doesn't provide ACB/Search on inital screen load

I have a details screen that shows entity details as well as details from another entity related via 0..1 to 1 relationship.  When the screen loads, all navigation properties have a details picker except the navigation properties of the related entity.  For
example, think of a details screen that shows an order and its OrderDetails.  Navigation properties of the Order have a details picker.  Navigation properties of OrderDetails show a dropdown box instead with no ACB/search.  I
made sure that search was enabled on the table and the summary field.  Strangely, if I open the screen, then close it (either by saving or cancelling), then open the same record a second time, all of the navigation properties correctly show the details
picker.  Does anyone know how to fix that?

I was able to get this working by going to the original browse screen that calls the details screen, clicking Edit Query, Manage Included Data, and including the related table.  It turns out that this is a good thing in that LS attempts to limit
the data going over the wire to only the data requested by the initial browse screen.  If you have any properties from the related entity showing on the initial browse screen, the included data behavior will happen automatically.  But if the
initial screen does not use the related data, you have to include the data manually.  While this solves the major problem, I am now looking for a way to load the related data only if/when the user decides to drill into the details.  I don't really
want to pull the extra data down initially.  I tried loading it in the details screen created method, but that is too late.  I'm going to try a beforeShown function.  I would still appreciate any thoughts anyone has on this topic.
Thanks.

Hi I'm running Addressbook and cannot clear previous entry easily when searching my data base of around 5,000 contacts.
I prefer to view in All contacts on a double page spread with details on the right page.  Searching doesn't seem to work correctly in this view.
It's always the second search that is problematic.
I've tried typing over and all it seems to do is confine the search to the the entries that have come up for the previous search.
I've tried to use the x to clear the previous entry and then type the next search, same problem.  The only way seems to be to move from "All Contacts" to "Groups".  Then the searched name appears and I can return to All Contacts to see full details.
Surely three key press' are not the way it's supposed to work?

My experience is differernt - hints will be followed if the optimizer determines they will be beneficial and not if they will not, including my current project on 11gR2. The example below (unfortunately only 11gR1) disproves your theory, showing the index hint is followed and that the cost increases by a factor of five.
The most common cases of the optimizer apparently ignoring a hint are due to operator error, the hint is not well formed, or cannot be followed. There are a couple of documented cases where a hint will be ignored - first_rows used in CTAS is one.
Jonathan Lewis writes a lot about it on his blog showing that the optimizer always acts on a well formed hint if it is at all possible.

  • Does ECC 6.0 Provide a Search-as-you-type Enhancement for Sold-To Party Field?

In our quest to continually simplify the creation of sales orders, I would like to know if SAP has provided any way to simplify the search and entry of the customer sold-to or ship-to party.  What I am looking for is a way to enter the customer's name (or other customer search criteria such as city) in a single field and have it search-as-you-type.  This is also known as instant search, auto-complete and auto-suggestion.
We would like to eliminate the clicks it takes to use the standard F4 search help.
One of our internal developers has created a web-based (.NET) application that brings in SAP data for writing sales orders for a specific segment of our business.  This tool allows you to find the ship-to party by typing in the customer's state, city, zip, address or name in the Ship-To field.  The instant search feature narrow's the list down as you type.  What he has done is written SQL to concatenate the customer name, customer number and address information, and then provided a search-as-you-type feature on top of this.
Fictious Example of concatenated data (State, City, Customer Name, Address, Zip, SAP Customer Number):
WA Seattle, Home Depot, 11616 Aurora Ave N, 98133, 18394978
Typing any of the above information in the field will search for matches and bring back results as you type.
I would like to know if ECC 6.0 has any similar feature that can be used in VA01 to accomplish the same thing.
    Thank you.

I don't have access to the code our developer used but again, I am referring to a .NET browser-based application.  We extract a subset of SAP data using Attunity (say, every hour) and the SAP data is stored in a separate SQL Server database.  This database is used by a few browser-based applications we have developed.  For example, we have an application that allows external customers or internal employees the ability to look-up the status of an order.  The first thing you enter is the customer.  In some cases, this may be the Ship-To.  In other cases, the Sold-To.  The user can simply enter some part of the customer and records are searched for a match, as you type.  In our case, the lookup is occurring in SQL Server, not directly in SAP.  The developer took a simple approach of using some SQL query magic (it may be in a SQL Server Stored Procedure), to concatenate the relevant customer information that most people use to lookup a customer - Customer Name, Address, Customer Number.  So as you type, this entire concatenated string is searched and the list of potential "hits" is narrowed as you type.
The paradigm is similar to Google's Search as you type (SayT), which you can read about here:
    http://www.theverge.com/2012/7/11/3152186/google-search-as-you-type-instant-results-merchants
    http://code.google.com/p/search-as-you-type/
    Or auto-complete: https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/106230
This is nothing new in the web commerce world.
I was told by an SAP rep that there might be an enhancement in SAP ECC (SAPGUI Desktop) that could do something similar.  However, I never heard back from him and was wondering if anyone else had heard of something.
This is another example of how it seems SAP has fallen behind in their UI and search capabilities; and they need to catch-up.  For those of us that have used SAP for many years, F4 seems straight forward and we sometimes don't understand why so many users don't also find it simple.  The answer is, other vendors have made it more simple and with the consumerization of apps, SAP needs to get there.

  • Link to detail Report doesn't work.

Hi, we are using Webi for On Demand reports (against Salesforce universe) and the hyperlinks to details reports are not working.
my URL in master report looks like this:
    ="<a href=https://na.crystalreports.com/opendoc/openDocument.do?iDocID=48877773&sType=wid&sWindow=New&lsMFocusBook="[Focus Book]"&lsMSegment="[Segment]"&lsMAccount="[Account Name]">"[Segment]"</a>"
and UR in detail report appears as:
    https://na.crystalreports.com/opendoc/documentXML.jsp?cmdP1=untitled488777731wid*&token=&cmd=askPromptView&cmdBlock=all&cmdP2=lsMSegment%3D%255BSegment%255D%26sWindow%3DNew%26useCustomPrompts%3DY
Some how details report doesn't recognise the propmpt values and always asks to fill prompts.
    can some one advise?
    Thanks

    Hello,
The openDocument.do url was really only designed for use with Crystal Reports documents.
It is not officially supported for webi documents, or any of the other document types.
That being said, it sounds like opening webi docs with openDocument.do does work, it is just the parameter passing that is problematic.
    Cheers

    contains localized Chinese files).
    2. In the "Search" tab, input a Chinese character(For example

  • Lightswitch HTML Client - Detail picker for each related List Item

I have a doubt in Lightswitch Html Client application.
    Scenario:
Suppose i have two tables  "Property" and "PropertyVaues".
A Property can have many PropertyValues is the relationship between them.
I want to show the data on screen like below:
    Property List:
    XYZ            [___10____(+)]
    MNO          [___abc____(+)]
    PQR           [___30.5___(+)]
    Xyz  is the list item
assume [___10____(+)]  is the detail picker of
PropertyValues which allow to select one value related to
XYZ Property item, and same for other list items.
Only Related "PropertyValues" for each list item must be available in the detail picker.
Please help me out if any one has the solution to solve it.
Or you can give me any other way to accomplish the above scenario.
    Thanks

    Hello Josh,
I am implementing it on AddEdit screen.
                      (1)
    (2)
    Screen description:
[Note: Some Images are in my next post]
    1. Image(1) shows the list of properties (GSM, Mill Name, CMS). These Properties have its respective property values in drop down.
    2. When i select any value from the dropdown list (eg. 10 from GSM). the value is assigned to all other drop down.
    [shown in image(3) next post]
    (4) Again when suppose i select value for "Mill Name" Property as "Abc", it is assigned to all other drop down.
    [shown in image(4) next post]
I want that a property value must be assigned to its respective Property only.
Please help me on this. Or suggest me another way out to accomplish such scenario.
    Thanks

  • How can I create 802.1x profile if my ISP doesn't provide one to me?

I couldn't connect to my ISP
ISP uses authentication with MD5. I tried to configure it from Network - Ethernet - Advanced - 802.1x but itturned out, that I couldn't add new profile there.
My ISP says, that they doesn't provide any .mobileconfig files.
How can I make my network work? Where and how to make .mobileconfig file?
File, that I made in iPhone Configuration Utility doesn't work for me, because system says it couldn't be added as a profile.

If your ISP is using MD5, I suggest you find another ISP.
The security of MD5 hash algorithm has been declared to be severely compromised for some time now. I didn't think anyone was still using it.

  • Spotlight doesn't do internet search

just installed the new os x and i find spotlight is great but i tried the web search like in wikipedia , google ,movies and maps it doesn't show in search , only the dictionary and apps ..
the internet works greatly. , any solution ?

    US proxy connection, I guess?
It needs it for movie searches, places and other stuff. Not sure why doesn't show Wikipedia searches though.
And, even if you were located at the other end of the world and you were looking for a place or a restaurant or a movie that you know that should be in the US, it's still kinda stupid not to show that information to you, just because you can't watch that movie or actually go to that restaurant. Maybe you just want to see the movie poster. Or some reviews of that restaurant. It's like you wouldn't be able to access the menu of a Chinese restaurant cause you're not Chinese, or you're not in China. Maybe you want to plan your trip in advance and you need that information before you actually get on a plane to the US.
    Stupid decisions.

Can't open old Numbers spreadsheet after upgrading Mac to Yosemite. Error message says it should first be upgraded to Numbers 09 but doesn't provide method to do so?  Help?

There is a chance the spreadsheets were made with a Numbers or AppleWorks version so old that it's not compatible anymore with the latest Numbers version (yes this can happen)

How can there be a value in Fireworks.  When will this be fixed, cause lets face it, the world is about color?

Does your image have an adjustment layer or a layer mask
on the layer that is active when using the color picker?
If you have an adjustment layer, make another layer active
    and see what happens.
If the layer that is active has a layer mask, click on image
thumbnail to the left of the layer mask and try the color
    picker.

It's a 3rd party app.  You really should contact Adobe Support and/or post in the Adobe Forums
    Mac OS X (10.6.6)
Use Software Update or the OS 10.6.8 combo update to update your OS.  Also, update everything SU has to offer for your computer.  When done, repair permissions and restart your computer.

    They do.
Standby = press the Power button
Power off = Press and hold Power button then slide the red power off slider.
Reset = Press and hold both Reset adn Home till you see the Apple logo.
This option will help to avoid pressing power button less number of times and gives better user experience.
Because it is better to not push the power button and more enjoyable to not push it?
