Detecting changes in the AUR

How do people find out that they need to rebuild something from the AUR?  Is there anything other than having a list and checking everything on it once in a while?

Yeah, -latest version. Which means they won't be compiled if already to latest version.

When used with update operations, also upgrade AUR development packages (supported are cvs, svn, git, hg, bzr and darcs development packages). The build of development packages that are found up-to-date after the source checkout will be skipped.
There's a reason the cloning is done after the main prompt: to minimize time the user spend interacting with the package manager.

I have a script which checks for changes in official and unofficial repos with pacman, and uses cower to check for updates. If there are any, it displays a notification saying so.
There are 2 problems:
1) VCS packages - I have no good way to deal with these;
2) packages which are replaced or dropped altogether from AUR.
Would really like a way to add some sort of checks for these but have not yet come across anything hopeful .
You might want to look at pacaur source code: 1/ is achieved like explained right above, 2/ is done by displaying a warning when foreign packages aren't found in the AUR either.

  • Detecting changes in the replication site list

    Is there a way, when using the replication manager, to detect changes in the replication site list without having to continuously call repmgr_site_list()?
    Even if you still need to call repmgr_site_list() to determine just what changed, it would still be useful to only call it when the result would be different than the previous call.

    Currently, no. However, we are working on an enhancement for a future
    release that would include such a feature.

  • Sound Blaster Extreme Music do not detect changes on the console

    I'm using the sound blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic with Logitech Z-5500 and the Flexi Jack, connected on Digital mode (Using Coaxial and Optical). The OS? Is Windows Vista Ultimate 32 Bits.
    The problem at this moment is that I can not make any change on the console configuration, I mean, if I change the speaker connection or change any parameter of the configuration has no reaction,I even change the EAX effects, the CMSS-3D ad nothing happen, all that I can control with the console launcher is the volume.
    I reinstall the drivers and download from the website the latest drivers I found and same problem.
    ?Any help?
    THANKS?

    Choose Soundblaster in the dropdown box and you will see XFi listed , you will find the latest drivers there....Seems rather strange to me since this is a XFi card, but hey I did not design the Website......

  • Detecting changes in the context

    hi,
    I have a form to update the personal data.The existing data is fetched by using a RFC.Now My requirement is as follows:
    The UI elements are bound to the view context elements wihich are populated by the model.
    Now I need to call the update RFC ONLY IF the user has made any changes to ANY of the data in the screen.
    Is there a way to know if the data in the screen is changed?
    thanx,
    Bhupesh

    Hi,
       I think it's better to determine this from the model object itself, rather than the node.
       ARFC model objects generated from BAPIs an be typecasted to <i>ICMIModificationCount</i>.
       So you will need to check the <i>modCount()</i> for every model object as soon as the view is loaded. Save this count somewhere. This should be much better than iterating through all your node elements and checking if they have been modified.
       Now when you want to find out if the view has been changes or not, check the saved value with the current <i>modcount</i>. If they are not equal, then there has been a modification.

    Satyajit.

  • XY-Graph / Plot legend: How to detect changes in 2nd/3rd/4th ... legend position

    Hello,
    I have an XY-Graph with 4 plots. How can I detect, for example, the color change of the second plot in the legend. The active plot, using a property node, is always plot 0. So I am not able to detect changes in the 2nd/3rd ... plot.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks a lot.
    Best regards,

    You can do it with an event sturcture.

  • Detection of changes in the context prior saving a document

    Original thread title: IS_CHANGED_BY_CLIENT and RESET_CHANGED_BY_CLIENT methods / selection change
    Does anyone know, why is that the RESET method is recursive, but the IS method isn't?
    The problem is, I need to trigger a save of a document only when there is some change made by the user, but to do that i'm being forced to implement myself a recursive method which uses both IS_CHANGED_BY_CLIENT and GET_CHILD_NODES methods. While I simply call the RESET_CHANGED_BY_CLIENT method of the root node and it affects all subnodes.
    Another problem is that, the selection changes (e.g. in a dropdownbyindex) don't get accounted as changes by the IS_CHANGED_BY_CLIENT method.
    Is there any simpler way to implement this?
    Thanks

    Thanks for your comments Manish. I've already programmed the recursive method and it is working ok, seems to be the only way then.
    But how did you solve detection of selection changes? Currently i'm thinking of having an event handler for each dropdown, which will mark a flag to be evaluated additionally to the method's result. You did the same, or selection changes didn't matter in your case?
    Thank you
    Solved: The context change log seems to be a far better alternative, it also detects selection changes.
    Check DEMO_CONTEXT_CHANGES example. If you need only to detect changes, you can use just the enable_context_change_log and get_context_change_log methods.
    It may be a little bit taxing when the context is large though, I'd like if anyone which has had this experience could comment.

  • Detect end of the .swf file from captivate

    Hi,
    I've a .swf file sent by our clients. They want to put that .swf file on the webpage. The .swf file is published from captivate.
    Now they want to display a submit button on end of the .swf (video). I don't know how to detect end of the video.
    Need help...!!!
    Thank you,
    Himadri

    Welcome to our community
    Within Captivate you are able to choose different actions to occur when the Captivate movie completes play. Of course if you don't have Captivate and the project file you are pretty much stuck with what you have. If you *DO* have access to the source, you would then configure the end action to be what you like. Perhaps execute some JavaScript, load a different page, etc.
    If you don't have access to the source file, you may be better off asking whomever provided the SWF to you to make a small change to the end action. They would then compile a new SWF and provide that to you to use.
    You just said a "Submit" button should appear after the video plays. What exactly is this button supposed to do?
    Cheers... Rick

  • Event Structure's value change, not detecting changes when tabbing thru array of clusters

    Hi!  I have an array of clusters (int, int, string, int) control, and want to detecting changes made to the it.  I used the Event Structure's value change case on the array, it works excellent except that it'll only detect the changes when you click out of the element or press the enter key (the one by the numbers, not carriage return).  I want it to detect the changes when I tab thru the cluster or array too, but I can't figure it out... Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks!

    Curious. I did a few minor edits in 8.0 before saving as 7.1, but the simple value change event got triggered just fine when the value vas terminated with a tab in 7.1. Every time.  Strange....
    Are you on 7.1 or 7.1.1? Maybe there's a difference (I am using 7.1.1).

  • Detecting Change in Elements between Versions of XML Doc

    Hi There
    I have a structured XML Schema based table in XMLDB 9.2.0.4 and am trying to detect when a non-repeating element off the root element changes (audit).
    I have created a row level update trigger and each time one element is changed via UPDATEXML two or three other elements are detected as changed. I am wondering if I have some sort of DOM fidelity issue here and perhaps my trigger is not the best for detecting this. we use XS:ANY elements in the XML schema and I know that there appears to be space injection into the element tag content and also extraneous namespace tags on tags in the XS:ANY elements.
    Can you give me any advice on my schema XSD and perhaps my trigger. Maybe what I am trying to do is not possible until 10g version of XMLDB.

    Be aware that you could also do an ALTER SESSION instead of a ALTER SYSTEM. This would prevent to shutdown the database to make the change, within the session, active.

  • Detect changes in an instance

    Hello,
    how can I detect changes in an instantiated object? I could serialize the object and write it into a file. After some minutes I could write it a second time into a file. Now I could compare the two files. But I thing this is not the best way for doing this, isnt't it.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

    it can be of any help, here's how I implement object changes:
    /** Interface for object instances comparison */
    interface ContentComparable {
       /** Returns a string describing the object instance for comparison */
       public String getCompareString();
    /** Custom class sample */
    public class CustomClass implements ContentComparable {
       private String    customField1;
       private int       customField2;
       /** Constructor */
       private CustomClass(String field1, int field2) {
          this.customField1 = field1;
          this.customField2 = field2;
       //------------------------------------------------------------ ContentComparable ---
       /** Returns a string describing the object instance for comparison */
       public String getCompareString() {
          String content = this.getClass().getName() + "["
                           + "customField1='" + this.customField1 + "', "
                           + "customField2=" + this.customField2 + "]";
           return content;
       /** Returns TRUE if the object is equal to an other object
        * @param   otherobj  the other object
        * @return  TRUE or FALSE
        * @see #getCompareString()
       public boolean equals(Object otherobj) {
          if (otherobj instanceof CustomClass) {
             CustomClass classobj = (CustomClass)otherobj;
             return this.getCompareString().equals(classobj.getCompareString());
          return false;
    }With that, you just have to keep a copy of the getCompareString() of the object before any changes are made.
    When you want to test changes, call this method:
       // private member to hold copy of unchanged object string
       private String oldObjectValue;
       // Returns TRUE if object has changed
       private boolean testDataChanged() {
          if (oldObjectValue == null) oldObjectValue = object.getCompareString();
          String newObjectValue = object.getCompareString();
          return !oldObjectValue.equals(newObjectValue);
       //...Hope this helped,
    Regards.

  • The AUR needs a forum section (rather than visa versa)

    The AUR needs everyone working together to suceed.  We need the users to put their PKGBUILDs in, do their voting and get some feedback on the interface and processes from the users.
    To do this we have the tur-users mailing list, which is great for contacting the TUs directly but maybe we need something more to get it going on this side of the community.
    Here are my proposals:
    Either:
    · Change the "Arch Packaging" section title to "AUR and Arch Packaging"
    · Add a new AUR sectionWhatever is choosen we then:
    · Move "AUR Package Requests" to the new location
    · add an AUR discussion and feedback board and move all the current AUR discussion thread there - headlined with a sticky linking to the tur-list and specifying what should be posted in the forums and what would be better related straight to the list - this reduces likelihood of people mailing the list for little reason.
    · add an AUR support forum - again headlined with a sticky to the AUR docs and any guidelines that get added to the wiki.  This will become the source of AUR FAQ for inclusion in the docs
    Personally I'd like to see this happen ASAP.

    These are not bad ideas, if you all feel that this will help better the current situation. Let's be honest guys, most anything is better than the current situation. I don't know about an AUR support forum, I was thinking about writing the docs myself, and probably will this coming weekend. Support for the AUR is intended to happen in the bugtracker, not the forums. You might add a sticky about that too, btw.
    Another thing is that it might (no garauntee) actually get me to read the forums again, being that there is one board to come read, rather than parsing through all the other threads around here.

  • Detect changes on tabular form

    HI guys!
    Is there any way to detect that there were some changes made on tabular form? My Client wants me to create items which are conditional upon changes made on tabular form. IE button X is only visible if there were no changes made on tabular form.
    With regards,
    PsmakR

    Hello Konrad,
    >> Stronger should be hiding button because there are changed cells …
    OK. This is the simpler scenario.
    The button should be rendered upon loading the page, as at this point there are no changes to the form.
    You should leave the checkbox column, which selects your rows, unchanged (event free), as it doesn’t affect the visibility status of the button – it should remain visible even if rows were selected (without changing any other cells).
    As I suggested in my first post, you should use the onchange event with all the other editable columns. The event should call a JavaScript function that hides the button, because when fired it means something has changed in one of the cells.
    Regards,
    Arie.

  • Detecting changes

    hi folks,
    I have a swing application that has a functionality to save the input. I want to know what is the common way to detect modification of input. If there's modification, i want to prompt the user to save if he/she is closing down the app. I'm thinking about using a listener on all input components(JTextField, JList, JComboBox,JTable,JButton). But the listener would be different for each type of component, ActionListener for JButton, CaretListener for JTextField, ListSelectionListener for JList, ect. So I want to write a class that implements all these Listeners, and if any of those events is triggered, then I know there's modification been made.
    My question is: is there a better/more efficient/more elegant way of detecting changes in my app?
    If not, any comments on my approach?
    thanks!!

    You can write an unique class implementing DocumentListener, ActionListener, ItemListener, etc..
    But you still have to add the listener to all the components.
    I'm thinking you can write a method void register(JComponent pane) Depending on the class JTextField,JCheckBox, etc... you add the class as a DocumentListener,
    as an ActionListener, etc. If the component is a container, you can recursively invoke the method
    for all the children

  • Detecting changes in a Directory

    Hi,
    I have accounts (user objects) provisioned from IDM to a Novell eDirectory.
    I also have activesync running so I can detect any changes on the Novell system.
    If a user object is moved around in the Novell directory (using the normal Novell
    admin interface), the activeSync poll detects this.
    How can I then update the account index in IDM to reflect the
    new location of the user object in the directory?
    thanks,
    John I

    A previous poster mentioned a rename workflow, have you considered the rename user view?
    It's in the Workflows, Forms and Views documentation on page 395. There's an option in there to update the account ID without trying to retrieve the old resource information.
    The example in the doc looks close to what you need (though you'll still have to figure out a way to get the view and check it back in):
    renameView.newAccountId="saurelius"
    renameView.resourceAccounts.selectAll="false"
    renameView.resourceAccounts.currentResourceAccounts[Lighthouse].selected="true"
    renameView.accounts[AD].identity="cn=saurelius,OU=Austin,DC=Waveset,DC=com"
    renameView.resourceAccounts.currentResourceAccounts[AD].selected="true"
    renameView.accounts[LDAP].identity="CN=saurelius,CN=Users,DC=us,DC=com"
    renameView.resourceAccounts.currentResourceAccounts[LDAP].selected="true"
    renameView.accounts[NT].identity="Marcus Aurelius"
    renameView.resourceAccounts.currentResourceAccounts[NT].selected="true
    {code}
    You might not need to change the IDM account ID, just update the resource identity info.  Perhaps also specify the fetchAccounts option as false.
    You can see the rename actions in the admin interface too.  Select the user, then under user actions select "rename" and it should show you the resources that you can rename.  (See page 72 of IDM Administration.)
    One reason that your rename is failing is possibly because the resource adapter simply does not support renaming.  If that's the case you may be forced to unlink the account in your active sync form and re-link it later on.

  • [SOLVED] Unable to build package Intel-OpenCL-SDK from the AUR

    Good morning,
    I am having some issues in regards to building a package from the AUR: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/intel-opencl-sdk/
    If I understand correctly this is a 64 bit package, so I made sure that my processor has the LM flag. Also I have checked which kernel I am running:
    >$ uname -m
    x86_64
    When I start building the package it comes up with an error saying:
    ==> ERROR: intel-opencl-sdk is not available for the 'i686' architecture.
    Note that many packages may need a line added to their PKGBUILD
    such as arch=('i686').
    So I went in to the PKGBUILD and changed the line x86_64 to i686. This seemed to started the build, but it does stop working rather soon, giving me the following error:
    ==> Tidying install...
    -> Purging unwanted files...
    -> Compressing man and info pages...
    -> Stripping unneeded symbols from binaries and libraries...
    strip:./opt/intel/opencl-sdk/libOclCpuBackEnd.so: File format not recognized
    /usr/bin/fakeroot: line 181: 846 User defined signal 1 FAKEROOTKEY=$FAKEROOTKEY LD_LIBRARY_PATH="$PATHS" LD_PRELOAD="$LIB" "$@"
    So I do not know where it is going wrong, although it also sounds that my install of Arch might be a bit dodgy as he does not want to build the package with the x86_64 setting ...
    Could somebody shed some light on this matter?

    Scimmia wrote:No, it's going to need 64 bit versions of the libs it links to. If you want to use this package, you're going to have to reinstall all of your packages. Probably easiest to start from scratch, to be honest.
    So is it possible to update the dependencies to 64bit and then build this package?
    When I change /etc/pacman.conf to take x86_64 architecture packages:
    Architecture = x86_64

    CFLAGS="-march=x86-64 -mtune=generic -O2 -pipe -fstack-protector --param=ssp-buffer-size=4 -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2"
    CXXFLAGS="-march=x86-64 -mtune=generic -O2 -pipe -fstack-protector --param=ssp-buffer-size=4 -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2"
    Then when I do pacman -S llvm then it will say:
    error: failed to prepare transaction (package architecture is not valid)
    :: package llvm-3.2-5-i686 does not have a valid architecture
    However I did put everything to x86_64, so where does he get the i686 from?
