Determine Available Parameters for Function

Hello, I would like to call an OA Framework page from within EBS forms. From the OA Framework Developer's Guide, I understand I can do this by calling fnd_function.execute() with the function name. I know how to get the function name, however I do not know how to tell what parameters are available. Is there a form in EBS that show this or another method to tell without having to write code?
Thanks

Hi,
    Use changing in perform.
    perform data_check changing w_field.
   form data_check changing w_field1.
      * use your FMOD here
      * pass the value from funmod to w_field.
   endform.
Thanks & Regards,

    Srinivasan-
    For creating a Generic extractor based on a FM, you first of all need to know what is going to be your structure.. i.e. what all fields you need to pull from what all tables. A functional consultant may help you identify the exact DB tables.
    Once you know them, hand over the requirement and the pdf mentioned by Krishna to the ABAP guy, he would be able to take this up further.
    Also decide 1st whether you would be using a full load or delta. There is a slight difference in the way they are built.
    Let me know how it goes.

  • How to log input parameters for Function Modules?

    Hi,
    I need to create a Logging system to trace input parameters for function modules.
    The log functionality could be done by developing a class method or a function module (For example 'write_log'), and calling it within each function module that I want to log. The 'write_log' code should be independent from the interface of the Function Module that I want to log.
    For example, I'd like to write a function/class method that can log both these functions modules:
    Function DummyA
       Input parameters: A1 type char10, A2 type char10.
    Function DummyB
       Input parameters: B1 type char20, B2 type char20, B3 type char20, B4 type Z_MYSTRUCTURE
    Now the questions...
    - Is there a "standard SAP" function that provide this functionality?
    - If not, is there a system variable in which I can access runtime all parameters name, type and value for a particular function module?
    - If not, how can I loop at Input parameters in a way that is independent from the function module interface?
    Thank you in advance for helping!

    check this sample code. here i am capturing only parameters (import) values. you can extend this to capture tables, changin, etc.

    SCOPE is for - Control lock behavior when calling the update task.
    ENQMODE - Lock mode
    VARYKEY - Lock key for tables

  • Function Module that will retrieve the parameters for a given function Modu

    Hi
    We have a requirement where we will be calling Function Module that will be maintained in a table entry. How we will determine what is the parameters that is required by this function module. Is there a FM that will suffice the requirement.
    Thanks in advance
    arghadip

    Hi,
    You have to write a custom code for that. Use the table FUPARAREF to retrieve the parameters for a function module. Give function module name as input.
    Pls reward points if solved your issue.

  • Parameters to be considered for functional specification preparation

    hello experts
    what are the parameters need to be considered at the time of prep.of any functional specification for abap deveopment?
    or how to prepare functional spec

    It depends on how you design your specification -
    for example for creation of notification & order in the back ground you can use BAPI
    For creation of confirmation of order you can use BAPI.
    Use T code BAPI for exploring the available  BAPI & their uses.
    For finding out  user exit use t- code SE84.
    enhancements - serch with IW* you will get all PM related exits
    For function module use SE37 for searching function modules
    As such its upto the ABAPer to use them in development

  • ISA: catalog not available -- FM for determining available catalogs

    Hello guys,
    we're currently implementing CRM e-commerce (ISA). When logging on to the web shop, an error message "The catalog that you have selected is currently unavailable; try again later " occurs.
    I searched the existing forum entries and found some similar issues, however, non of the given solution solved my problem. Furthermore I've found note 980678 dealing with this, however - again, the problem still persists.
    I assume that this is not a technical issue but has something to do with the catalog determination depending on the currently logged in business partner. Thus, I searched for function modules dealing with this, found CRM_ISACAT and CRMISAICAT, still no solution.
    I'd appreciate any hints on how to continue analysing this problem.
    Many thanks & regards
    Wolfgang

    Hello Wolfgang
    I am a CRM Consultant in the ISA component.
    This is a common issue and there can be many causes.
    In this case I would suggest you open an OSS message with the information
    specified in the following notes:
    1094659   Support for Internet Sales Release 4.0
    1091792 Support for Internet Sales Release 5.0
    We can then logon and help to resolve this issue.
    Thanks and best regards.

  • How to determine the values for Model Parameters in Forecasting

    Hello Gurus,
          On basis we will determine the values  for the Model Parameter values (Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Sigma).
    Thanks,
    Siva.

    Dear Siva,
    the values are dependent from the forecast stratey and forecast model.
    The forecast strategy determines the method or the techniques that are used to create the forecast. You set the forecast strategy in the forecast profile.
    There are some settings that you must make for certain forecast strategies. The table below shows you which settings these are. You make these settings either in the univariate forecast profile or under the Model and Parameters tabs of the Forecast view on the demand planning desktop.
    Model initialization is the process by which the system determines the necessary model parameters for the chosen forecast model. These parameters are in following link:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm50/helpdata/en/ac/216b74337b11d398290000e8a49608/frameset.htm
    I hope this helps you further.

  • Function module to determine the date for the nth weekday of the mth month

    Hey folks,
    Is there a function module which determines the date for the mth weekday of the nth month in the pth year.
    For instance, if I input 2nd thursday of the 4th month in 2008, it should return me, 04/10/2008  (MM/DD/YYYY).
    Thanks and Best Regards,
    Puja.

    Hi Ravi,
    Hadn't been able to work on this lately...You solution was quite close, but did not work for a few scenarios....I tweaked the logic a bit to take care of them as well...
    So here goes the code:
    ================================================
      DATA first_day_of_month TYPE datum.
      DATA day TYPE p.
      CONCATENATE year month '01' INTO first_day_of_month.
      CALL FUNCTION 'DAY_IN_WEEK'
        EXPORTING
          datum = first_day_of_month
        IMPORTING
          wotnr = day.
      DATA day_number TYPE numc2.
      IF day = weekday.
        IF recur = 1.
          DATA ls_date(10) TYPE c.
          CONCATENATE month '/01/' year INTO ls_date.
          CALL FUNCTION 'CONVERT_DATE_TO_INTERNAL'
            EXPORTING
              date_external                  = ls_date
           IMPORTING
             date_internal                  = date.
        ELSE.
          day_number =  ( ( recur - 1 ) * 7 )  + 1.
        ENDIF.
      ELSEIF day < weekday.
        day_number = ( ( recur - 1 ) * 7 ) + ( weekday - day ) + 1.
      ELSE.
        day_number = ( ( recur - 1 ) * 7 ) + ( 7 - day ) + weekday + 1.
      ENDIF.
      IF date IS INITIAL.
        CONCATENATE year month day_number INTO date.
      ENDIF.
    ====================================
    There still could be some loopholes in this....am not sure....but it sure did seem to work for a couple of random checks that I performed.
    Brownie points to you for giving me a direction.
    Thanks,
    Puja.

  • Regarding configuration of "Parameters for determining the basic dates"

    Hi All,
    Can anyone give inputs in which scenario we need to use the configuration "Parameters for determining the basic dates".
    1)Do we have any restrictions for usage of above IMG configuration, 2) any pre-requisites to use the configuration of "Parameters for determining the basic dates" and 3)does configuration of this task is having any integration with any other modules, if yes what is the point of integration with other modules.
    Thanks in advance.

    Dear Aditya,
    Parameters for determining the basic dates in production order are used to calculate the Basic Start date & End date of Production order. It Determines if and how the basic dates or the dependent requirements dates are adjusted during lead time scheduling. You can customize this in OPU3 for planned order & OPU5 for Production Order.
    There are the following possibilities:
    1.The basic dates are adjusted and the dependent requirements are scheduled for the start dates of the relevant operations.
    2.The basic dates are not adjusted and the dependent requirements are scheduled for the start dates of the relevant operations.
    3.The basic dates are adjusted and the dependent requirements are scheduled for the order basic start date.
    4.The basic dates are not adjusted and the dependent requirements are scheduled for the order basic start date.
    1)Do we have any restrictions for usage of above IMG configuration
    For scheduling this has to be. If you want that start date should be calculated based on Inhouse production time & not on routing select opetion 2 or 4
    2) any pre-requisites to use the configuration of "Parameters for determining the basic dates"
    Not as such
    3)does configuration of this task is having any integration with any other modules
    Not directly but with MM to determine dependent requirement Proposal.

  • Java.lang.VerifyError - Incompatible object argument for function call

    Hi all,
    I'm developing a JSP application (powered by Tomcat 4.0.1 in JDK 1.3, in Eclipse 3.3). Among other stuff I have 3 classes interacting with an Oracle database, covering 3 use cases - renaming, adding and deleting an database object. The renaming class simply updates the database with a String variable it receives from the request object, whereas the other two classes perform some calculations with the request data and update the database accordingly.
    When the adding or deleting classes are executed, by performing the appropriate actions through the web application, Tomcat throws the following:
    java.lang.VerifyError: (class: action/GliederungNewAction, method: insertNewNode signature: (Loracle/jdbc/driver/OracleConnection;Ljava/lang/String;Ljava/lang/String;Ljava/lang/String;Ljava/lang/String;I)V) Incompatible object argument for function call

         at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.internalDoFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:247)
    ...The renaming works fine though. I have checked mailing lists and forums as well as contacted the company's java support but everything I have tried out so far, from exchanging the xerces.jar files found in JDOM and Tomcat to rebuidling the project didn't help.
    I just can't explain to myself why this error occurs and I don't see how some additional Java code in the other 2 classes could cause it?
    I realize that the Tomcat and JDK versions I'm using are totally out of date, but that's company's current standard and I can't really change that.
    Here's the source code. I moved parts of the business logic from Java to Oracle recently but I left the SQL statements that the Oracle stored procedures are executing if it helps someone.
