Determine output filename based on input filename content with RFC lookup

Hello Guys,
I have this sitaution which needs your ideas/sugestion.
1) PI system picks up text file from FTP server folders.
2) Within PI system, we need to dynamically determine output filename , logic to determine output filename will be :
          2a) Read content of the input file particular line number (Fixed)
          2b) Pass the value got from step 2a) to the Remote function module passing value read in step 2a) to get response
          2c) Use response received from 2b) to construct output filename.
Please let me know if you have any qeustions on my problem, appreciate your ideas/suggestions.

Enhanced Receiver Determination with RFC Lookup

Hi All,
I am building an interface with Enhanced Receiver Determination. Scenario would be that the Receiver Systems would be stored in a Z table in SAP ECC, and in PI Receiver Determination I am doing an RFC look up to find the systems, and using those.
I built the mapping for Receiver Determination, and it tested fine in ESR. But while Creating the Receiver Determination in Integration Directory, After I specify the Receiver mapping name, and put the RFC channel name for the RFC parameter, it doesnt allow me to save the Receiver Agreement with a run time error message
"Link from Receiver Determination | <Sender>| <Interface>| * | * to object type "Channel" with role "122474913b1311deaadb42057dd8b002" is not permitted"
My question is a) if the RFC lookup allowed in the mapping for Receiver Determination?
B) if yes, am I missing someting or is it a system issue?

i have seen Enhanced RD with lookups that work. Have to say it was not a RFC lookup used but rather a DB look in one of the implementations i had worked with. But still I really dont think a RFC lookup should be an issue.
Troubleshoot the lookup mapping to be working other than in the enhanced RD (i.e independently) .
if you head no where, i suggest opening a OSS note.

Multiple Output XML based on input

I want to have multiple outbound files based on the contents of the input file. For instance, in the example below, I want to have multiple outputs based on Report_ID.
So I would have Output 1 with Report_ID of 001 (With 2 lines), Output 2 with Report_ID of 002 (With 1 line), Output 3 with Report_ID of 007 (With 1 line) and Output 4 with Report_ID of 009 (With 2 lines).

You have to use Multimapping here.
for that create a Message mapping and switch to the signature tab ,change the Occurence of target Message Type to 0..unbounded.
Assign the Mapping as follows
Report_ID(Change the Context to Expences)-->splitByValue(value Change)-->collapeseContext--->TO THE Target Message Type
Report_ID(Change the Context to Expences)---> splitByValue(value Change)----->collapeseContext--->SplitByValue(ValueChange)---to the Target Report_Id.
EMP_ID(Change the Context to Expences)---> splitByValue(value Change)----->collapeseContext--->SplitByValue(ValueChange)---to the Target EMP_Id.
Value(Change the Context to Expences)------------------------------------------------------\
formatByExample-----To the TargetValue
Report_ID(Change the Context to Expences)-->splitByValue(value Change)---------------------/
this works fine if the Values are coming in the Order otherwise you also have to use Sort and SortBy Key functions.
It will be better if you provide the target structure to provide the exact mapping with the target fields

Catch all error information while validating xml content with xsd schema

I created a java mapping to validating the input xml content with xsd schema (schema validation). What I want is to catch all error message to the xml not just the first error. I used SAXParser in sapxmltoolkit.jar to do the schema validation. The below is a part of my java mapping.

I needed that when the user clicks the button, that he return the current date + filename statically defined.
How i may to make this?

Getting Output filename and extension same as the incoming filename and extension

I need to create a SFTP send port where I should get the output file name and extension same as that of the incoming filename
I had set the filename in the send port as "%SourceFileName%" but this did not work.
I have also assigned the input filename (without extension) in a variable in orchestartion. Is there any way i could get the output filename and extension same as that of the incoming message?
Any help would be much appreciated

Hi,
The %SourceFileName% macro maps to the context property BTS.ReceiveFileName that travels with your message in the context. So in order for this macro to work in a send port the message that is going out needs to have this BTS.ReceiveFileName property on
the context. You probably creating a new message in your orchestration and sending that out. The new message does not have the property on its context which makes it fail. Use a message assignment shape in your orchestration to set the context property for
the message going out:
MyMessage(BTS.ReceiveFileName) = OrigMessage(BTS.ReceiveFileName);
Then %SourceFileName% macro will work at send port.

How to hide columns in the output table in webdynpro based on input

   I have 2 inputs and 1 input is optional.If both inputs are given proper table output is displayed,but if only 1 input is given a column is empty in the output table so i want to hide this column dynamically at runtime based on my inputs.And i want to hide some empty rows also at runtime based on inputs.
Can anyone help me out to solve this.

What i understood from your question is,you want to control the table from your inputs.I have a one question for you what do you want to show defaultly i.e when you run the application what you want to show,either no table or table with some values.
Any how i am giving solution in this way.

Here i am assuming that you already have a table element in the view.
Get the values entered in the input fields and compare those 2 values ,if the condition is satisfied then bind the values which you want to show in the table to the context node.

You are telling that you know the empty column.If so get the view element reference and use the REMOVE_COLUMN to remove the column.

Removing the rows is very simple.if you know the key fields data of internal table from your input fields then do in this way.

Now bind the internal table to context node.

PDF Printer stopped prompting for output filename

I use the Adobe Acrobat PDF Printer to create PDFs from a variety of applications. My version of Acrobat Pro is 10.1.6. The printer is configured to prompt me for the output filename, but never does. It used to work, but I can't figure out what has changed. I have done a repair of Acrobat, and even went so far to uninstall and reinstall.

Turns out to be an OS problem. I cannot print to my HP printer either! (And this is after rebooting.) Oh well. Off to the Mac forums for assistance. Thanks anyway for those of you who looked at this.

Date Extension on Crystal Output Filename in Scheduler

We use Crystal Reports 10. When we schedule reports through the CMC scheduler we add the date to the output filename by selecting the DateTime option from the variable properties list ( ex. ExpoSalesSummaryReport_%DateTime%.xls generates a file named ExpoSalesSummaryReport_2007-04-25-10-46-33.xls). The date format that is automatically concatenated onto the filename by Crystal is not what we need. We do not want the time in the date extension and we want the date format simplified, without dashes.
Our team needs to have additional values available in the variable properties list of the report scheduler that would allow us to select a specific date format to be concatenated to the filename when we schedule reports. For example, we would like to have the following selections in the picklist (new options that we want to add and use are bolded), ex:
Title
ID
Owner
DateTime
FileExtension
DateMMDDYY
DateMMDDYYYY
DateMONDDYY
DateMONDDYYYY
Is it possible to create new parameters for the scheduler picklist that can add a date extension to the filename in the format we want? I would think that there must be some way to customize the file extension mask behind the scenes in Crystal 10.

Like I've already discussed in my Blog ,Using Date Expressions on Filenames of Burst Query has its own limitations. This date expression that you have tried for sysdate-1 (%d-1%m%y) will not hold good to the requirement. Anyways you can resolve the issue using other work arounds.
Method I (Using CAST and DATE Functions)
1.Previous Day -> CAST(DAYOFMONTH(TIMESTAMPADD(SQL_TSI_DAY, -1, CURRENT_DATE)) AS CHAR)
2.Month of Previous Day -> CAST(MONTH(TIMESTAMPADD(SQL_TSI_DAY, -1, CURRENT_DATE ) ) AS CHAR)
3.Year of Previous Day -> CAST(YEAR(TIMESTAMPADD(SQL_TSI_DAY, -1, CURRENT_DATE)) AS CHAR)

In Data Source Section - Edit Data Source and place the below query

FROM Dual (you can use any date format as required)
3. In Variable Target Section
Edit Target -
Give the Name as Previous_Date (as you created in Step1) and Enable the Radio Button as Dynamic
Place date in Default Value like '9/22/2010'
4. Now use this Repository Variable in the filename parameter of the burst query as VALUEOF("Previous_Date") for Repository Variable
and VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION.Previous_Date) in case you have created a session variable for the query

Change Build Output Filename for SSIS Project

I have a Visual Studio 2010 solution (TxMExtractLoad) with two SSIS projects: TxMExtractLoad.Discovery and TxMExtractLoad.Contract1. The project name (in project properties) is set to the proper two-part name in each project. However, when I
do a "Build", the generated .ispac file loses the second part of the project name: both projects build to "TxMExtractLoad.ispac" (in different directories, fortunately).
I can see where I can change the output *path* for the build, but not the output *filename*.
Any help, anyone?

Came across this post whilst encountering the same issue and thought i would post the solution i discovered
The ispac will get its name from the Name defined in the project properties minus whatever is following the final name part
Therefore, your SSIS package of TxMExtractLoad.Discovery will become TxMExtractLoad.ispac
If you change the name in project properties to something like TxMExtractLoad.Discovery.myProject
or TxMExtractLoad.Discovery..ispac then when you build it it will build as TxMExtractLoad.Discovery.ispac

The suggestion for your proble as i understood it is you will have to split the string at seperator '-' in two say variable name and conten. and then you will calculate the length of the VARIable name by using string function.

Why does insertion location into GridLayout differ based on inputs?

Hello,
I wrote a loop that inserts a run-time determined number of checkboxes into a GridLayout.
For instance, if the user wants 5 checkboxes (decided at run-time), then the program creates 5 new checkboxes and inserts them into a (5 rows, 1 col) grid.
The checkboxes appear correctly as 5 rows and 1 column.
However, if the user wants a lot of checkboxes, (ex: user wants 10 checkboxes), then the program inserts the checkboxes in the wrong order.
Instead of

It inserts like this:

Notice how the checkboxes appear in a (5 row x 2 column) grid.
I dont know why the exact same lines of code [code that generates a (user defined number of rows x 1 column)] create two different layouts based on the size of the input.
I ONLY want to have ONE column, no matter how many lines of input. I put a JScrollPane on the panel that has the GridLayout because the i know that a lot of checkboxes wont be able to fit entirely on that one little section that has the GridLayout panel.
Can anyone explain why the output differs based on the input?

The following quote from the API documentation for GridLayout may help you understand what's happening:
"When both the number of rows and the number of columns have been set to non-zero values, either by a constructor or by the setRows and setColumns methods, the number of columns specified is ignored. Instead, the number of columns is determined from the specified number or rows and the total number of components in the layout. So, for example, if three rows and two columns have been specified and nine components are added to the layout, then they will be displayed as three rows of three columns. Specifying the number of columns affects the layout only when the number of rows is set to zero."

Control filename structure with FTP internal channel

Right now in 10.1.2.0.2 the outbound file name is pretty much fixed as tpname_uniqueID, however there is plans to enhance it in the subsequent release based on the user defined pattern.

Not a problem when using iPhoto on a Mac, which the transfer of photos is primarily based on - not manually managing photo storage as seems to be common with Windoze.
The same should be available with a supported photo management app on a PC.
