Determine rows based on their 'grouping'

Ok assume there is a table (TableA) in this format
col1 col2 col3 col4 col5 col6
R1 route1 route1Description1 AA BB CC
R1 route1 route1Description1 AA CC
R1 route1 route1Description1 CC BB
R2 route2 route1Description2 GG KK LL
R2 route2 route1Description2 GG LL
R2 route2 route1Description2 LL KK
R3 route3 route1Description3 DD EE FF
R3 route3 route1Description3 DD FF
R3 route3 route1Description3 MM NN ZZ
R4 route4 route4Description4 FF SS XX|PP|OO
R4 route4 route4Description4 FF XX
R4 route4 route4Description4 XX PP
R4 route4 route4Description4 PP OO
R4 route4 route4Description4 OO SS
R5 route5 route5Description5 RR TT UU|VV
The data in the table was imported from a csv file and there is a relationship between the rows. Each combination of col1, col2 and col3 describes a full route of a journey. The row with an entry in col6 describes the full route and the other rows describes each leg in the route.
For example, for R1, the route is AA to BB via CC.
Another example for R4 the route is FF to SS via XX, PP, and OO.
What i would like to do is missing a route. For example the route for R3 is DD to EE via FF. There is an entry for DD to FF but is missing an entry for FF to EE.
The results should return the following rows which are incomplete
R3 route3 route1Description3 DD EE FF
R3 route3 route1Description3 DD FF
R5 route5 route5Description5 RR TT UU|VVWhat is the best way to do this?
Here is what i have come up with but it doesnt quite returned the correct result.
select * from tableA a
Where not exists(
select 1 from tableA b
where instr(col6,col4,1)>0 and instr(col6,col1,1)>0)
And a.col1=b.col1
And a.col2=b.col2
And a.col3=b.col3
)Is there an easier way to achieve this?

• Spliting a table in to two table based on the groups in SSRS

Hi,
I am trying to a split a rows accross two tables based on a group.
So far I have added a list and added a row group and grouped it using lineof business
Inside my list i have two identical tables so i can display the data
for the first table i have set the row visibility as follows: where LineOfbusiness1 is the groupname of my list group
=RowNumber(Nothing) >= (IIf(CountRows("LineOfBusiness1")\2 = 1, CountRows("LineOfBusiness1")/2, (CountRows("LineOfBusiness1")/2)+1))
and for the second table in the i have set the row visibility as follows
=RowNumber(Nothing)< (IIf(CountRows("LineOfBusiness1")\2 = 1,CountRows("LineOfBusiness1")/2, (CountRows("LineOfBusiness1")/2)+1))
this set up works fine for the first group but it doesnt display the data the way i want for the subsequent groups.
so how do i have the table start over after each group... plus in my group i have specified to do a page break after everygroup...
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
Karen

Visakh,
Thanks for answering.... a sample for the data will look like
dataset----
create table #dataset
Code varchar(5),
Name varchar(200),
Lineofbusiness int,
Statename varchar(10),
typed int,
description varchar(2000)
insert into #dataset
select 45111,abc,1,AL,4500,policies
insert into #dataset
select 45111,abc,1,AL,2500,vehiles
insert into #dataset
select 45111,abc,1,AL,3,drivers
insert into #dataset
select 45000,bca,2,AL,4500,policies
insert into #dataset
select 45000,bca,2,AL,500,house
insert into #dataset
select 45000,bca,2,AL,40,theft
When i display the data i want it to be
Line of business 1
policies 4500 drviers 3
vehiles 2500
Line of business 2
Policies 4500 theft 40
House 500
but right now the for lineofbusiness 1 its showing the correct way for but the line 2 everything is being displayed in the right.
Thanks

• Need help - Hide row of a recursive grouping if textbox value is empty

Hard to explain, but I will do my best.
I have a simple report that has a resource (accounting) recursive grouping. The group and the recursion is working correctly. The only dollar values I have to display are at the lowest level of the hierarchy so instead of having a simple SUM("POSTED_TOTAL_AMT")
field to show the rollup totals I did the following =Sum(Fields!POSTED_TOTAL_AMT.Value, "TREE_NODE", Recursive).
TREE NODE
POSTED TOTAL AMT
ALL_RESOURCES
24163945.66
BANK
BENALL
7027062.56
BENWL
3490587.96
BENFT
279969.6
BENLD
3210618.36
COMAB
1357934.08
INCWL
2178540.52
CASH_FLOW
CHRTY
COGS-ENS
Everything I have read shows you how to hide a row based on a dataset field but I need to hide the row based on the textbox expression. For reference here is the expression for the values showing on the report: =Sum(Fields!POSTED_TOTAL_AMT.Value, "TREE_NODE",
Recursive)
I added this into the row visibility: =iif(IsNothing(Fields!POSTED_TOTAL_AMT2.Value),True,False)
But when I run the report I get the following error:
System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: The Hidden expression for the grouping ‘TREE_NODE’ refers to the field ‘POSTED_TOTAL_AMT2’. Report item expressions can only refer to fields within the current dataset scope or, if inside an aggregate, the
specified dataset scope. Letters in the names of fields must use the correct case.

Hi BlackHills_SD,
According to your description, when you use the iif expression to set visibility of the row, you got the error message.
When we write expressions, we will find that the term scope is used in multiple contexts. Scope can specify the data to use for evaluating an expression, the set of text boxes on a rendered page, the set of report items that can be shown or hidden based
on a toggle. It seems that POSTED_TOTAL_AMT2 is not in the same dataset as TREE_NODE. We can refer to the following steps to troubleshoot the problem:
Right-click the report and click Insert to add a text box.
Right-click inside of the text box, then click Expression.
Click Datasets, click First(POSTED_TOTAL_AMT2), scope of POSTED_TOTAL_AMT2 will be listed.

• Commision based on item group & customer group

Dear all,
Does anyone have an idea about how to get commission based on item group & customer group sales?
My customer wanted commission report based on item group or customer group & based on payment collection dated.
Example
Term given for customer A is 30 days.
12/3/09 Inv 1000 RM 10,000 30 days payment
20/4/09 Inv 2000 RM 5,000 60 days payment
The term given is 30 days of the invoice month.
Salesman will get commission if get the collection at May'09 for Inv 1000, & July'09 for iinv 2000 based on the invoice date month.
The salesman get commission at any date of the month May'09. More longer collection, less commission they will get.
Example:
Salesman A
Customer Group 1st of the month, 2nd of the month, 3rd of the month, 4th of the month
Normal Dealer 1.5% , 0.75%, 0.00% , -0.25%
Sub Distributor 0.5% , 0.25%, 0.00% , - 0.25%
Any idea?
Thanks in advance?
Regards,
Eric Tan

Hi Eric
SAP does not calculate commissions, but merely provide a mechanism to report on it. The multi level calculation you require can be achived with a custom query linked to a report layout. Standard SAP will not provide this type of calculation. You will need to look at the open transactions such as invoices and link to the relevant payment transaction to get the payment date. Then compare this date to the invoice due date to determine if the terms were adhered to or not. If not payment date - due date in number of days will be needed to calculate the effective commission percentage.
Kind regards

• Color report rows based on a value in that row

I would like to Color report rows based on a value in that row.
For examplle with the "EMP" table:
I would like job=MANAGER to be red and job=CLERK to be green etc etc
The other example I found only had the option of one color either the highlight or the default color.
I am looking for a way to do multiple colors.

Hi,
In the row template, you can use #1#, #2#, etc to indicate where a field in the report needs to be output. This does not have to be plain text - ie, you can use it within style tags if you like.
So, take a query like:
SELECT EMPNO,
ENAME,
DEPTNO,
DECODE(DEPTNO, 10, 'green', 20, 'red', 30, 'cyan', 'white') BG_COLOUR
FROM EMPYou get columns 1=empno, 2=ename, 3=deptno and 4=bg_colour. In the row template, you can then do:
Before Rows setting (sets up the table):
<table>
<tr><td>ID</td><td>Name</td><td>Dept</td></tr>After Rows setting (closes the table):
</table>Row Template 1 (used for ALL rows):
<tr style="background-color:#4#;"><td>#1#</td><td>#2#</td><td>#3#</td></tr>Then, for every row, the colour that has been calculated using the DECODE function will be used in the style tag to colour the background for the entire row.
How you determine the colours is up to you. I've used DECODE here, but you could use a field on the DEPT table to hold this and use this in your SQL statement.

• How to add a dynamic where clause for a sql based VO with group by query?

Hi,
Here is my case, I have a sql query based VO with the query like "select status, count(*) StatusCount from my_table group by status". Now I used the following java code trying to dynamically add the where clause to my VO to filter the rows based the type attribute in my DB table.
vo.setWhereClause("type='MyType1' ");
vo.executeQuery();
Then I got the sql syntax error. Looks like the ADF has added the where clause to the end of my sql so my sql becomes "select status, count(*) StatusCount from my_table group by status where type='MyType1' ". But what I expected was the correct syntax "select status, count(*) StatusCount from my_table where type='MyType1' group by status".
Does anyone know if this is an ADF bug? Or is there any other way to achieve my goal?
Thanks,
Chunyang
Edited by: Chunyang on Dec 13, 2012 9:09 PM

Hi,
When you use setWhereClause on the VO, it is applied on top of the VO query. I.e, assume your VO has the following query.
select empno, ename from empNow, if you apply the where clause programatically, only the two attributes that you are using in the select statement could be used. I.e
select * from (select empno, ename from emp) where ename='KING' - VALID
select * from (select empno, ename from emp) where deptno=10 - INVALID (because the inner query - the one you've defined as query for your vo does not have deptno attribute selected)If you would need to set a dynamic where clause, you need to make them available in your select statement / use bind variables.

• Derivation of fund center based on purchasing group

Hi,
It is required to determine the fund center based on purchasing group (during PR creation). I have gone through one thread which suggests inclusion of the field EKGRP into FMDERIVE, then to COBL.
However I was trying to check whether it can be done through table lookup using field USERTEMP1 and assigning the same to EKGRP. But in the table lookup screen, the upper part contains the fields BANFN (Purchase Requisition Number) and BNFPO (Item Number of Purchase Requisition) which need to be assigned to source fields. I am not sure what source fields should be assigned and how it will work.
Request your input in this regard.
Thanks in advance!
Snigdho.

Hi,
I am trying to derive fund center based on purchasing group using field USERTEMP1. In the upper part of table lookup screen (I am using table EBAN) what should I assign to the fields BANFN and BNFPO?
Thanks

• Wants delete user based on their last login details...

Hi All,
I have one question regarding oracle database user management. I have approx 300 users in my each Database and I know many of them are not actively used. I want to generate users report based on their last login information. I want to fetch list of users who is not logged in database since last 4 months and are eligible for delete operation. Please guide me how to find this details.
Thanks in advance...

user12115, but really even if the logon time was not present and you only had the logoff time you know when the customer last used the system and relistically you could work with that. Rather than audit user session connection due to the large number of connections/disconnects we have per day we created a database logon event trigger that updates an IOT for the username, logon_date of the OS user connecting. If no row is updated we insert the username.
Also keep in mind that many web based applications connect to the Oracle rdbms using an application username as not as the real end user. In such a case auditing will not catch the real end user nor will the logon trigger unless the application uses dbms_application_info to post the real end username to Oracle. If this is not true in your shop today it might be tomorrow so keep this potential issue in mind.

• Customising Serach Results based on User Groups

Hi,
Is it possible to customize the set of products an end user sees based on the group it belongs to?
I mean we have set of clients belonging to different groups each having their own product catalog, so based on the group, search
results have to be very specific. Is there a way to achieve this w/o having separate endeca instances?
Thanks.

You typically do this by translating custom catalogs and price lists into dimensions and catalog-specific properties so that the product set can be pre-filtered before applying search. I don't believe User Profiles will really give you what you want.
The way I typically think about it is that User Profiles influence the way in which users are presented with content but it doesn't have an effect on the content itself. We've worked on the largest custom catalog project undertaken on the platform (back in our days at Endeca) so feel free to reach out if you need more information.

• Combine rows based on column value

I'm trying to combine rows based off of a common value.
Table Data:
Result A
Player_ID Player_Name Team_Name Points Sequence
99999 John Smith Bulls 50 1
99999 John Smith Pistons 14 2
What i want in the output
Result B
Player_ID Player_Name Team_Name Points
99999 John Smith Bulls 64 (50 for Bulls)Here's my main query...
select player_id, player_name, team_name, points
from
SELECT player_id, player_name, team_name, sum(points) sum_points
FROM stats_data
WHERE season_id = 2008
AND points > 0
GROUP BY player_id, player_name, team_name
) t
ORDER BY sum_points DESC, last_name;**The current query gives me the output from Result A
1) Not entirely sure how to combine data based of player_id
2) Once i figure out 1, im sure by adding the ('sum_points' for 'team_name') to the output can be done with a case statement, i think?

Sorry about that Frank.
Using: Oracle 10.2g
i was incorrect about the output of the query
SELECT player_id, sum(points) sum_points
FROM stats_data
WHERE season_id = 2008
AND points > 0
GROUP BY player_id
)Output
Player_ID Sum_Points
99999 20
55455 6
66489 2 So the subquery is outputing the correct data
The output of the original entire query(that you had posted) is:
Player_ID Player_Name Team_Name Points
99999 John Smith Bulls 16 (8 for Bulls)
55455 Bob Johnson Rockets 6 (3 for Rockets)
66489 Chris Terry Kings 2 (1 Kings)Here's some more raw sample data from the table:
Player_ID Player_Name Team_Name Points Sequence Game_Type_ID Team_ID
99999 John Smith Bulls 12 1 1 5
99999 John Smith Bulls 0 1 -1 5
99999 John Smith Pistons 4 2 1 12
99999 John Smith Pistons 0 2 -1 12
55455 Bob Johnson Rockets 4 1 1 3
55455 Bob Johnson Rockets 0 1 -1 3
66489 Chris Terry Kings 2 1 1 8
66489 Chris Terry Kings 0 1 -1 8So your code frank is very close, the issue is that:
A) All players have a ('pt value' for 'team name') even if they played on the same team, which can prob. be solved with a case statement, which i tried to do in my last post.
WITH grouped_data AS
SELECT player_id, sum(points) sum_points
FROM stats_data
WHERE season_id = 2008

||  ' for '
||  s.team_name

WHERE     s.sequence     in (1,2)     <==
AND s.season_id = 2008
AND s.points > 0;the output has two issues, for players who played on more than one team, like Josh Smith the output comes out as
99999 John Smith Pistons 20 (2 for Pistons)
99999 John Smith Bulls 20While the players who played on one team came out correctly. So issue with my edit of your code is:
A) josh smith is output 2, needs to be output once
B)josh smith should say (Josh Smith Bulls 20 (4 for Pistons) not "99999 John Smith Pistons 20 (2 for Pistons)"
c) Issues with "99999 John Smith Pistons 20 (2 for Pistons)" is that it listing the wrong team for him: should be Bulls and listing half of his total with the pistons in the prentices should be 4. --The reason that is because s.points needs to be summed as based off of the data there's two entries
Hope this clears it up, thanks!

• How not show duplicate rows based on one field

Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0
Hello
I have a query that looks for certain scripts that did not run on a particular day compared to what ran the same day a week ago. We want to include the start_datetime and end_datetime but when I add it to the select statement it brings up all instances of the jobs that run multiple times during the day. Is there a way to exclude the extra rows based on the script_name field?
SELECT instances.script_name,
instances.instance_name,
REGEXP_REPLACE(master.description,
chr(49814), -- em-dash
'-') description
--instances.start_datetime
FROM xxcar.xxcar_abat_instances Instances,
xxcar.xxcar_abatch_master Master
WHERE 1 = 1
AND TRUNC(start_datetime) = TRUNC(TO_DATE(:p_StartDate, 'YYYY/MM/DD HH24:MI:SS')) - (:p_NumOfWeeks * 7)
AND Instances.SCRIPT_NAME = Master.SCRIPT_NAME (+)
MINUS
SELECT script_name,
instance_name,
NULL
--NULL
FROM xxcar.xxcar_abat_instances
WHERE 1 = 1
AND TRUNC(start_datetime) = TRUNC(TO_DATE(:p_StartDate, 'YYYY/MM/DD HH24:MI:SS'))

MINUS does a set operation - removing rows from the first set that exactly match the second set.
When you add columns to the first set, you want a more restricted filtering - try a multi-column NOT IN:
To remove multiple runs, group and get min/max
SELECT instances.script_name,
instances.instance_name,
REGEXP_REPLACE(master.description,
chr(49814), -- em-dash
'-') description,
min(instances.start_datetime) start_datetime,
min(instances.end_datetime) end_datetime
FROM xxcar.xxcar_abat_instances Instances,
xxcar.xxcar_abatch_master Master
WHERE 1 = 1
AND TRUNC(start_datetime) = TRUNC(TO_DATE(:p_StartDate, 'YYYY/MM/DD HH24:MI:SS')) - (:p_NumOfWeeks * 7)
AND Instances.SCRIPT_NAME = Master.SCRIPT_NAME (+)
AND (script_name, instance_name) NOT IN
( SELECT script_name,
instance_name
FROM xxcar.xxcar_abat_instances
WHERE 1 = 1
AND TRUNC(start_datetime) = TRUNC(TO_DATE(:p_StartDate, 'YYYY/MM/DD HH24:MI:SS'))
group by instances.script_name, instances.instance_name, master.descriptionYou didn't give table definitions, and the query has schemas in it, so I didn't test it.

David

• Restrict Sales order text based on Sales group

Hi,
My requirement is currently 12 different text ID's showing in my sales order text. But I want to restrict certain sales order text ID's based on sales group entered in the sales order header. Is there is any user exit or routines available to restrict sales order text ID's.
Regards,
Palani

Hi,
This is actually a configuration item. Transaction VOTXN (VOTX in 4.6C) can be used to configure the text types, text procedures, and access sequences for sales order texts as well as other types of texts. Part of the configuration procedure allows for some ABAP control over the copying requirements.
This is from the online help for data element COPNR (on the VOTXN screen SAPMV80T 800, field TTXZI-COPNR) :
You can create your own routines for text determination. For example, if you want to send different messages to particular groups of customers, you can create routines that automatically assign different messages to different groups (e.g. wholesalers, retailers).
Note
The fields available for determining texts are defined in structure TVCOM, which can be found in the routine under FTVCOM. Generally, however, the fields filled in the structure are only those which are used or recognised for text determination by the caller. Other fields can, for example, be filled during sales document processing via user exits USEREXIT_MOVE_FIELD_TO_TVCOM_H and USEREXIT_MOVE_FIELD_TO_TVCOM_I. The user exits are described in the IMG under Sales and Distribution -> System Modification -> User exits.
I'm not sure if filtering by sales group is possible, but I don't see why not.

Jamie

• TS desktop show shortcut's based on security group

Hello,
I'm looking to have users connect to a TS desktop and have applications shortcuts appear on the desktop based on their security group membership. So if a user is in an "Oracle" security group they would get
an "Oracle" shortcut on their desktop. The tricky thing to this is that I only want these shortcut's to show up on the TS desktop, not their normal workstations.

Hi,
>>The tricky thing to this is that I only want these shortcut's to show up on the TS desktop, not their normal workstations.
Based on your description, we can use Group Policy Preferences Shortcuts extension to deploy the shortcuts and then utilize GPP
Item-Level Targeting to apply the settings to the users who belong to a specific group when they log onto specific computers.
Regarding GPP Shortcuts extension, the following article can be referred to for more information.

• ACS 5.3 Group Mapping based on AD group membership

Hi,
I am configuring a new ACS 5.3 system. Part of the rules is that I want to match the users specific AD group membership, and match appropriatly to an identity group.
What i'm trying to do is say that if the user is a member of the AD Group (G-CRP-SEC-ENG) then associate them with the Identity Group SEC-ENG. The under the access service, authorization portion, i assign shell profiles and command sets based on Identity Group.
It seems that the ACS server will not match the AD Group for the user, and it will match the Default of teh Group Mapping portion of the policy every time.
I tried several configuration choices from : AD1:ExternalGroups contains any <string showing in AD>, AD1:memberOf <group>.
Is there something special i need to do in the Group Mapping Policy to get it to match and active directory group and result in assigning the host to an Identity Group?
Thank you,
Sami

Ok, my case is like this.
I use ACS 5.3 for VPN authentication, using AD and an external RSA for token authentication (2 factor authentication)
I didn't add all the VPN users in the ACS, because it will be troublesome, the users authentication will be managed by AD and RSA server.
In some cases where we need to restrict a group of user to only access certain resources, downloadable ACL is used.
Following the Cisco docs, i manage to get downloadable ACL works when the authorization profile matching criteria is username, but when i change the matching criteria to Identity group, the downloadable ACL won't work.
I have a case with Cisco engineer now and still in the middle to sort things out.
The advice from the Cisco engineer is to have the Access Service set to Internal User instead of RSA server, but that will require us(the admin) to import all the VPN users into the ACS database.
Wondering whether there is a fix for this.
Thanks.
