Determine the immediate child WBS element of a WBS element

Hi,
I would like to know how to determine on how to know all the immediate childs of 1 parent (example: how can i kno all level 3 elements under level 2 b?)  The usage of PRPS-STUFE is not enough since it only indicates levels.  I also noticed we do not have entries in PRHIS table, is it because of we are not using the standard WBS?
Level 1
     Level 2 a
     Level 2 b
          Level 3 a (of level 2 b)
          Level 3 a (of level 2 b)
     Level 2 c
          Level 3 a (of level 2 c)
Thanks!
Regards,
Vivian

Hi,
The project hierarchy is data is available in PRHI table.
PRHI'S' is for standard structures. S stands for standard.
PRHI is for operative structure.
If you want to know the WBSE immediately under a WBSE say A. Then go to PRHI table enter A in POSNR field. The WBSE under it will be available in PRHI-DOWN field.
If u have more than one WBSEs under A and you are looking to get all of them. Then u may have to rite a Z function module. Logic can be as under.
Assume WBS structure is as below
Level 1 = A
Level 2 = B,C,D.
When u give A as input u want BCD as output.
Then
Take input as 'A'.
1) Go to PRHI and enter A in POSNR. Collect PRHI-DOWN and Store.
2) Again go to PRHI and enter PRHI-DOWN (collected above) in POSNR. Collect PRHI-RIGHT and Store.
3) Again go to PRHI and enter PRHI-RIGHT (Collected above) in POSNR. Colect PRHI-RIGHT and Store.
4) Repeat step 3. untill PRHI-RIGHT = Initial or Zero.
This Function module will give u all the WBSEs assigned in immediate one level less than the input WBSE.
Please post ur findings after u try this.
Thanks
Saikishore Ganga.

  • How do you determine the index of an element in a cluster?

    I've got a small program that I put together, as I'm just trying to get up to speed on Labview.  I have a cluster boolean buttons and for some reason the top buttion is coming through as Index 3.  There are four buttons in the cluster, but for some reason, there's been a shift.  The top one should be Index 0.  How do I get things corrected?  I can't see how to determine the index of each button through Properties.

  • BAPI for finding child WBS elements under a Parent WBS element

    Hi friends,
    I am working on the transaction ZIOS02 transaction. On releasing the Parent or Main WBS element in ZIOS02 transaction I need to copy some data from ZIOS to PRPS based on WBS element.
    I have a Bapi for retrieving all the WBS elements based on Project Definition (BAPI_PROJECT_GETINFO) but i want to know whether is there any BAPI for finding the child WBS elements when we give a Parent WBS elemnts as Input to BAPI.
    Could any one please help me in the query ASAP.

    Hi friends,
    I have got the answer for finding the child WBS elements.
    In Function module BAPI_Project_get_info.
    Use parameter subtree = 'X' and give the WBS element name in tables section under I_wbs_element. You will get all the child WBS elements which are under Main WBS element.

  • Determining the number of elements defined in an enum

    Hello,
    I have an enum and I want to determine the number of elements (constants) defined in this enum by source code. I know I can use reflection but I just want to know if there's an easier way.
    Thank you very much.

    Hey JavaWisdom,
    You can use the ordinal method. I made a simple example to demonstrate.
    public class NumberOfEnums {
         public static enum Enumeration {
              item1, item2, item3, item4
         public void count() {
              Enumeration[] values = Enumeration.values();
              int numElems = 0;
              for (Enumeration type : values) {
                   if (type.ordinal() > numElems) {
                        numElems = type.ordinal();
              // Correct 0 indexed numbering
              numElems += 1;
              System.out.println("numElems : " + numElems);
         public static void main(String args[]) {
              NumberOfEnums noe = new NumberOfEnums();
              noe.count();
    }Cheers,

  • Locking of  the Project and WBS Elements at a single step.

    Hi Experts,
                    My client requirement is to lock the complete project and wbs elements so as not to allow any further postings to the project, I knew that we can lock the project or WBS individually by setting the lock status, but i want to lock the complete project  at one step, Is there any possible standard setting to sort out my Issue if not give me the solution.

    may be the below explanation will be helpful.
    You can open the project in CJ20N for example and can set the lock for project definition and also you can set the lock for WBS element without saving and exiting from CJ20N, after setting the lock for both project definition and WBS Element you can save and exit.
    It is not possible to select more than one object and set lock with one click.

  • How to get the count of repeating elements in a xml doc.

    In many xml documents, in is common to have repeating child elements and what I would like to know is how do I determine exactly how many of these child elements exist in a particular document. There is probably a correct XPath string to determine this, but I cannot figure out what it is. Here is an example
    <a>
    <b>
    <c>1</c>
    <c>5</c>
    <c>22</c>
    </b>
    </a>
    The above 'c' element is what varies in number from document to document and I need to know how to get the number of 'c' elements for the document, which would be 3 in the above case.

    create table test_xml(data xmltype)
    insert into test_xml values(
    xmltype('<a>
    <b>
    <c>1</c>
    <c>5</c>
    <c>22</c>
    </b>
    </a>')
    select extract(data, '/a/b/c').getclobval() from test_xml
    select count(*) from test_xml
    where existsnode(data, '/a/b/c')=1
    good luck.

  • Primavera Load Child WBS

    Hello,
    In Primavera Integration API there are API's available in com.primavera.integration.client.bo.object.WBS and com.primavera.integration.client.bo.object.Project to load Child WBS.
    i.e
    loadWBSChildren().
    But using Helper classes i.e ProjectHelper and WBSHelper is there a way to load Child WBS(i.e. immediate Child) ?
    There is load() API in WBSHelper to which if I pass Bussiness Object as Project, then it loads all WBS and not just immediate WBS.
    I want some way in Helper classes through which I can load all ChildWBS of Project and Parent WBS.
    Please let me know if there is some way
    Regards
    Priyanka

    I would use a filter in load().
    For example, I have WBS node W3 with an wbs_id of 1001.  Then to get all the immediate WBS children, the filter is where parent_wbs_id = 1001.

  • Validation on child WBS

    Dear All,
    I am using free coding mask and want to validation for child WBS element on account assignment tick.
    Like for child WBS element ,Account assignment should be tick otherwise system sould throw an error .kindly note that we are using free coding mask so that in project hierarchy is not defined .it can be 4,5,9,10 anything .
    How can I create the validation for this condition .
    Regards
    RSS

    If you are planning to have the check at specific child level WBS, then you can set using level as already suggested by Nitin. So you can say that if level > or = 2 always chk the account assignment.
    If you want to set it at specific level then define it for that levels i.e. if level =3 or level =4 or level = 7 or level = 9 then chk account assignment.
    You need to have some logic, for setting validation.

    I am trying to determine the new project preset for a multi-camera video shot as follows:  3 Canon camcorders,
    Main shot is DV (tape) (720x480, 29fps) - ceremony and reception
    b-roll is DVD (mini-disk) (720x480, 29fps) - bride preparations
    additional b-roll is AVCHD (1920x1080, 29fps) - groom preparations and misc all day ceremony and reception.
    Film is from a wedding, DV contains main footage so I assume it will need to be the base.  I am planning to use the preset for DV-Widescreen.  Is there a better option?  I'm concerned about playback as the three appear to have different PAR.  I'm using Premiere Elements 10 on W8.
    Ultimately this will be burned for two formats - one for a DVD that can be watched on a widescreen TV, second for a short clip trailer to go on vimeo.
    (And no I won't be doing this again for a wedding that I shoot.)

    I have checked replication with repadmin /showrepl and all connections were successful. The dcdiag /test:kccEvent test on all servers passed.

  • How to determine the ROWNUM in a Master Detail Form

    Hello,
    I am working in a Master Detail Form with Orders and Order Items Information; and I created a process that allows the users to select a Product ID on a tabular form, and the next column is populated automatically with the Product Description.
    To achieve that, I followed some instructions by Denes Kubicek (http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=31517:241), but my case is slightly different:
    <ul>I am using a wizard-created tabular form, instead of a manual tabular form; and </ul>
    <ul>Instead of using another page as a Popup to pass the parameter of the ROWNUM, I am using a plug-in called “Tabular Form Super LOV” which is a modified version of the SkillBuilders’ Super LOV that works on Tabular Forms. </ul>
    The Product ID is returned in the correct row by the plug-in; but in the case of the Product Description, it is always returned into the first row; and my problem is that I don't know how to determine the row where the user clicked to call the plug-in.
    I set up an example in apex.oracle.com in case someone would like to look at it:
    Workspace: ediazjorge
    Username: test
    Password: test
    App Name: Sample App
    App Number: 1550
    BTW, I am using Apex 4.1.1.00.23 and Oracle DB 10.3.2.
    Thanks in advance,
    Erick

    Hello VC,
    Thank you for your time and help.
    Unfortunately, it is still not working properly:
    1. When the Popup LOV opens, the first row of the tabular form is 0, the second row is 1, and so on. How can I assign the values starting with 1 and in the format *0001* ? (I am still a novice on Apex and new to JavaScript :-), sorry about that).
    --2. Also, when I close the Popup LOV, the value of P1_ROWNUM is ‘undefined’ again so I'm not sure if the Product Name column will be populated.--
    3. And finally, you are using the jQuery Selector uPopupLOVIcon, which is an attribute of the Cloudy Theme. In my real application (Apex 4.1.1.00.26), my element looks like: *<img src="/i/lov_16x16.gif" width="16" height="16" alt="Popup Lov" alt="List" style="vertical-align:middle;" align="middle" />*. What do you recommend me to use as a jQuery Selector?
    Again, I really appreciate your help and time. I think you solved the most difficult part.
    Thank you so much,
    Erick
    Update: I just found out that the problem with my comment 2 is because I didn’t delete the previous dynamic action that set the value to P1_ROWNUM.

  • A problem determining the JNDI Name of a local EJB with WL 8.1

    Hi,
    I created a very simple local EJB and deployed it with Weblogic8.1. When I test
    it in the Weblogic server admin page, I got the following message:
    "The EJB MyLocal has not been tested successfully. There was a problem determining
    the JNDI Name of the given bean."
    Can anyone help figure out the problem?
    Thanks
    Henry

    Does the ejb have a target server specified?
    Does the Ejb have a Jndi binding as specified in the <local-jndi-name></local-jndi-name>
    element of weblogic-ejb-jar.xml?
    thanks,
    Deepak

  • How to add an issue if you are a responsible manager of a child wbs ?

    How to add an issue if you are a responsible manager of a child wbs ? I have some projects with lots of child WBS and these child WBS is managed by others project managers (or others responsible managers), different responsible manager from the project. I'd like the others responsible managers could add/edit/delete issues in their WBS's. How to do that ?

    Hi Yves
    try to type at the end of your query the following
    select cardcode,cardname,balance from ocrd
    for browse
    and execute it again

  • I need to get the tagName after a node of the first child of the Root

    Hi All,
    I need to get the TagName of the Node immediete after the Root. I won't know what is the TagName, and based on the Tagname only I can process the records.
    For example I might receive a SALES object or a MARKETING object wrapped under the root.
    eg.
    <PARENT>
    <SALES>
    </SALES>
    </PARENT>
    or
    <PARENT>
    <MARKETING>
    </MARKETING>
    </PARENT>
    I tried to using like this
                   DocumentBuilder documentBuilder = documentBuilderFactory.newDocumentBuilder();
                   File file = new File("c:/example.xml");
                   document = documentBuilder.parse(file);
                   Node node = document.getDocumentElement().getFirstChild();
                   System.out.println("node Name:" +node.getNodeName());
                   System.out.println("node Value:" +node.getNodeValue());
    It returns only something like #text, but I need the response like 'SALES'.
    Can anyone let me know if im missing something somewhere.
    thanks in advance,
    Harish

    That's because the first child of the document element is that whitespace text node between <PARENT> and <SALES>. You need to scan through the children of the document element until you find one that is an Element node.
