Determine wether JPasswordField is empty

I have the following code:
if (usernameField.getText().equals(""))
JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, "Must enter username & password.","No credentials",JOptionPane.ERROR_MESSAGE);
}I also have a JPasswordField that I would like to check, to see wether any values are entered, the getPassword method returns a char array; what would be the best way to determine wether the field is empty? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Hi all,
i have installed the NW2004 s sneek preview. Trying to deploy a web dynpro application. Yesterday i was able to.
Today The deployment fails with the message
Deployment exception : Cannot determine sdm host (is empty). Please configure your engine/sdm correctly !
1) I am able to log on to SDM.
2) Can see SDM as running in sapmmc
2) the J2EE engine in the SAP netweaver developer studio shows SDM as green color
With parameters
state Running
Productive use No
Debug Off
Is there any problem with SDM. I have found quite a number of threads but knon could solve the problem. The problem looks more so complciated since I was able to deploy yesterday but am unable to today.
Appreciate any help

Make sure that your NWDS has the j2ee engine linked to it. Under windows->preference->SAP j2ee engine.
If it is configured here, then you should be good. If it is still not working, try to reboot the j2ee engine and try again.

Text determination and copy controls are two defferent functions in the Sales and Distribution.
Regarding Text:-
Texts in Sales and Distribution
Purpose
In a business relationship, it is essential that business partners exchange information throughout the logistics chain. In sales and distribution, this exchange of information is supported by texts in master records and documents. You can maintain these texts for one particular customer or define them so that they can be used more flexibly.
Texts can be used in many areas of sales and distribution:
Sales notes for customers
Sales texts for materials
Explanations in order confirmations
Shipping instructions in deliveries
You can define as many text types as you require (sales texts, shipping texts, internal notes, supplement texts etc.) for master records and documents.
You can take the settings for the texts from Sales and Distribution Customizing under Text control.
Features
You store the texts that are to serve as information carriers in the system and in the output in the customer master record, the material master record, and in the sales and distribution documents. In addition the following processing and control functions are supported:
Texts are proposed from the master records in the sales and distribution documents, if you have made the appropriate setting.
Texts can be copied from a reference sales and distribution document into another sales and distribution document (e.g. from an inquiry into a sales order or from an order into a delivery).
The copying of texts can be made language dependent, if required.
You can change copied texts.
You can integrate standard texts into the sales and distribution documents
Regarding Copycontrols
Through this copy control configuration the flow of the sales documents will be defined.
Example:- We have standard SD flow
Inquiry>Quotation>Sales order>Delivery>Invoice
The above flow is happening based on the copy control settings.
If you go to these transactions you can get better idea

Receiver Determination -- Expression Editor is empty

Hi all,
Scenario is the following:
SAP (RFC) sends data to XI (3.0), XI sends it to Oracle DB (stored procedure)and gets back the return-message from Oracle, then forwards it to SAP (RFC). (Inbound Synchronous). Everything works well.
Now I'd like to add just a condition to the existing Receiver Determination and here's my problem:
Receiver Determination --> Conditions --> Left Operand --> Expression Editor (there's no structure, everything empty!) I've even refreshed xi cache etc. No success!
Could you please help me? All kind of suggestions / documentation are welcome!

Hi all,
Thank you very much for your suggestions. FYI, I've done the followings:
- Did clear SLD cache and 'Complete Cache Refresh' (TA:sxi_cache).
- Did insert manually an xPath expression --> getting errors.
- Did add the SWCV of Sender to the Receiver and vice versa (in SLD) --> so there's a link between both.
Still not working and getting the message in Integration Builder: "Message interface no longer exists in the Integration Repository."
I'll appreciate any further suggestions.

Determining wether a User has Logged into an NTDomain

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can determine, programmatically,
wether a user has logged into an NT Domain, from a Win95 PC.
From an NT workstation, I can simply check the USERNAME andUSERDOMAIN environment variables. Is there possibly a Win32 API
call that I can make ?

How does hibernate determine type of an empty collection elements?

Consider we've got an instance of a class like this:
@Entity
class MyClass {
@ManyToMany
List<MyClass2> theList = new LinkedList<MyClass2>();
public List<MyClass2> getTheList() { return theList; }
public void setTheList( List<MyClass2> theList ) { this.theList = theList; }
.. id and its getter and setter here ..
As far as I know generic collection's type is erased after compilation. Therefore hibernate sees a raw-type collection in runtime. But it maps this many-to-many association from MyClass to MyClass2 correctly even if the list is empty. And in java persistence API documentation "targetEntity" property in @ManyToMany is optional also. It says "Default: the parameterized type of the Collection when defined using generics".
So there should be another way to determine collection element's type in runtime. Could anybody explain it to me?

The compiled class file still contains the information. Therefore you can get the generic type information for fields (using Field.getGenericType).
Objects on the other hand, don't contain that information.

Determining wether to implement on a single database or multiple databases.

Good Day Mentors,
Our company will be migrating from 2004B to 8.81. We currently have 2 databases. We wanted to know what are the things to consider before choosing wether to go one or multiple database. We are in F&B. The 2 databases purchase and sell the same items for most of the inventory.
I've already checked these links:

After reading those posts, I've listed these questions(this I'll be asking the users/management):
1.) Are the 2 databases, 2 business/legal entities?
2.) Is the Tax files separately for each subsidiary/company?
3.) Are the reports(P/L, balance sheet, etc) usually consolidated?
4.) Is it ok that the people can see all the BP's, GL accounts, Pricelists etc?
Are there till things I need to ask the management in order to make a wise decision on the matter?
Are there still pros/cons I need to raise up?

It will 2 business /Legal entities when you have registered your company in two different tax registration no.(PAN)

Totally depend on how you registered your company in tax department .means if you have saparate tax reg no then it might be.
3.) Are the reports(P/L, balance sheet, etc) usually consolidated?
this option in optional it may be or may not be .
4.) Is it ok that the people can see all the BP's, GL accounts, Pricelists etc?
No, because data will very huge then user become confuse at the time of data entry(but we have solution for same without SDK)
Means totally depend that both company register in same tax no or two different tax no.

While performing a loopback test, how do I determine wether the connection is RS-232 or RS-485?

I know that for the RS-232 loopback test I should short pins 2 to 3. For the RS-485, short the pins 4 to 8 and 5 to 9. I do this, but the only test that works is the RS-232 one. I was wondering if I had to specify for what connection I was performing the test. All help is appreciated, thanks.
P.S. All of this is for the D-sub 9 pin port.

I found this page in NI.com (http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/3450), where there is a diagram of the DB-9 pin definitions for both RS-232 and 485. It says that pins 4 and 5 are the recieving pins, and pins and 8 and 9 are the transmitting ones.
pin 4 -> Recieve +
pin 5 -> Recieve -
pin 8 -> Transmit +
pin 9 -> transmit -
Therefore the loopback test should be done by connecting pins 4 to 8, and 5 to 9.

HT3847 how do you determine a file is "empty"?

I have somehow duplicated all my iTunes files... thereby taking up valuable space on my harddrive. This was caused by moving my iTunes "music, etc" back to the harddrive after using an external HD for a long time.
I have read the article saying something about files being in "ITunes Media", rather than just "iTunes". So, it seems that I should just be able to remove all duplicates that have the path without "iTunes Media". HOWEVER, I am not able to find the FOLDER called "iTunes Media" on my harddrive... which seems it should be in the "Music" folder.
Any guidance would be appreciated.

The iTunes Media folder is located in the /Music/iTunes/ folder.
Everything in iTunes is in /Music/iTunes/ folder.

Empty batch determined in delivery

Hi friends,
I have a problem in batch determination and I dont have much knowledge on this. We are using automatic batch determination in Deliveries. For some of the line items the batch determined is empty (no stock). Deliveries are created using VL10A tcode. However I could trace some reasons for that.
1. In Sales Order the line item is not confirmed for that date. Schedule lines are confirmed for future date.
2. Deliveries are able to be created using VL10a transaction (even the future delvieries without stock confirmation)
3. Automatic batch determination is run and empty batches are assigned. That means batch with no stock.
4. For assigned batch, stock is zero (available quantity) and expiry date is in the past.
5. For this item in delivery, the staging date is in the future and Planned GI is present.
I want to fix:
1. Why the delivery creation is not blocked for unconfirmed line items in Sales Order using VL10a tcode whereas it is blocked using VL01 tcode.
2. How come empty batch is determined.

- You may need to check OSS notes 113411 and in particular 355666
2. How come empty batch is determined.
- You may need to check the batch search strategy using transaction code VCH2 for the particular material.

What about simply use function module BBP_USER_GET_DETAIL with importing parameter USERNAME = SY-UNAME ?
You will get all user's roles in table ACTIVITYGROUPS.

Determining Message Server Host and Port information

Hi,
I am working on the NWDS creating a Java WD application and I was told which Netweaver system I should work on but I was not told the Message Server Host information neither the Port information. I ran transaction SM51 (right click->details)in the Netweaver system but the information it is not working. Even though I can telnet this server port if I go to the J2EE Engine window within the NWDS I do not see the green light. I just see "N/A". I also tried to deploy my application but I keep getting this message: "Cannot determine sdm host (is empty). Please configure your engine/sdm correctly".

Hi Diego,
in order to see Message Server Host information and Port information go to SAP J2EE Engine start page: e.g. http://system-name:57100/index.html (use administrator pws).
Then click on System Information, here on the top you can read the Message Server Host and Port.

Go to window ---> preferences
You will get a window opened in that
on the left hand side you have the SAP J2EE Engine option
double click on that
if you are using a server which is situated remotely then go for 1st option
Mesassage Server Host:--<Ip of the server>
Meassage Server Port :<port no>(Generally 3901)
If you have server installde locally on your system then go for the 2nd option
ther will be a browse you acn dind ur server and select that.

Determining if printing is going on in paint method

By looking at the source of the existing visual components, I have found out that JComponent.paintChildren uses getFlag(IS_PRINTING) to determine wether or not the current call to paint will paint to screen or to a printer.
The problem is that both getFlag and the constants it uses are declared as private in JComponent. This is why I am wondering why Sun chose to keep this information private to the JComponent class, while this information could be very useful in some situations.
Also, would there be any alternatives to determine wether or not printing is occuring from a paint method besides managing flags the same way JComponent does?

I gave a try to your approach but it doesn't seem that the graphics object passed to the paint method during the printing process implements PrintGraphics. I'll keep trying stuff with that idea until some new input is given, but thanks for the idea, it sure could have worked out ;)

Empty iTunes Folders

Why does iTunes leaves behind many empty folders once it moves the songs to other folders? Let me explain further. You see I have it set for iTunes to manage my music. So, when I update ID3 info for example correcting the spelling of an artist name, song title or correct the album title. It creates the new folder but leaves behind the old folder. Is there a way to remedy this?

I guess I have to individually check each folder in the iTunes library to determine if they are empty or not.
