Developing Custom Applet in Oracle Webcenter

Hi,
We can create custom component in Oracle Webcenter Content Server.
We can use different ways to create resource for these custom components, one of which is "HTML includes", which can contain Idoc Script and valid HTML code, including JavaScript, Java applets etc.
Could anybody give an example of 'HTML includes' calling/including *'Java Applet'*?
Any pointer for the same will be helpful.
Thanks

OOTB there is only one page I'm aware that contains links to applets: Administration - Applet Admin.
Note that the reason for this page is that the same (admin) functionality is provided in an applet as well as in Java standalone mode (if no server runs). I'd discourage you from writing applets for an end-user functionality.

    Hi All,
Could you please help me identify the tools and correct version for developing and customizing Forms for Oracle E-Business Suite R12.1?
    Regards,

Also, could you please elaborate your 2nd point regarding template.fmb The Oracle EBS uses a framework. Starting any new (custom) form for the EBS should ALWAYS begin with the template.fmb to ensure your new form has all of the required objects to comply with EBS Forms development standards. You might want to take a look at the Oracle Applications Documentation library. Select your EBS version and then scroll to the Standards section and review the following documents:

  • Not able to view the custom taskflows in Oracle Webcenter 11g PS3 catalogue

    Hi,
I have created one custom taskflow and followed the below steps to view custom task flow in webcenter ps3 catalogue (i.e. make task flow available under Mash-Ups\task flow at run time)
1)right click custom task flow and added to project.
2)rigth click custom task flow and add to catalog.
3)grant resources to that custom task flow.
Any idea if there is any missing step to makes a custom task flow availbale webcenter ps3 catalogue ((i.e. make custom task flow available under Mash-Ups\task flow at run time)

Your taskflow will never be available in the mash ups. These are only for the runtime created taskflow.
In Jdeveloper, open the default-catalog or whatever catalog you are using. It is located in the webcenter/portalapp/catalogs folder
Do you find your taskflow there? If not, press the plus sign to add a resource and select Link.
As type select taskflow and press the browse button next to the URL to select your taskflow. Save, and run the portal again.
Maybe you can post the source of the catalog.

  • How can I customize the whole oracle webcenter portal

We have a project that uses oracle webcenter portal. I want to customize it starting to its landing page til the content. I tried using extending webcenter spaces project but my build.xml has an error in clicking clean-stage. I followed the instructions correctly but still not working. • New in oracle webcenter

Hi , i am new in oracle webcenter .I am quite confuse now .Can anyone tell me what software should i need to install to try the oracle webcenter? I has already download Oracle Jdeveloper, Weblogic , Database ,Webcenter suite and Oracle RCU. Is it compulsory to install all the software on my PC? So far I am using window 7 64 bit.
In addition , can anyone give me some note which are best for the newbie to try the oracle webcenter?
I know this question is quite stupid. Special thanks to anyone who help me :)

You don't need to install all that software if you want to test the basic functionality of WebCenter.
JDeveloper is the IDE that you will be using to develop the portal. When you have installed Jdev, go to Help, Check for updates and look for the WebCenter extensions. Download and install them.
JDeveloper will than restart and when you create a new application you will see additional templates:
WebCenter Portal application: this is the template that allows you to create a portal with webcenter
Portlet producer: this template will create an application that allows you to create JSR 286 portlets that can be consumed in a webcenter portal or any other JEE portal with WSRP support.
The webcenter extensions do not contain the webcenter services like document services, discussion forums, activity streams and so on. If you also want to test them out, than you will need to install weblogic + webcenter suite.
A good start is the tutorial. I am currently in the procces of writing one. Currently i only have finished 2 parts but it's a start :)
    http://www.yonaweb.be/webcenter_tutorial/introduction
You will also find lots of other examples and articles on my blog :)
You can also download the prebuild VM from Oracle: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/webcenter/downloads/owcs-portalfw-vbox-284132.html
This VM does contain a full installation of the webcenter portal framework with the services (webcenter spaces is not installed on this VM).
And this is the tutorial from Oracle: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/webcenter.1111/e10273/toc.htm

  • Urgent : Communicate from JAVA Applet to Oracle Forms

    Hi All,
I have developed swing applet. Through this applet I need to start the Oracle Forms on web and access it as well. Is there a way to to this. In this case, Oracle Form is using Global Variables, and the requirement is to set these from my swing applet.

    Many thnx Frank.
Still little confused. I am J2EE guys and hardly have any understanding on Oracle Forms. I am explaining the requirement in detail so as to you can get an insight into my issue.
We have a developed a swing Applet, which would be access on web. We have received Oracle Forms from the client, and this has been installed on Oracle10gAS. Our application is installed on the same server. Once user starts interactions with the applet, it will be session based. Also the applet is running at the client end and the form would open at the client end as well. So how is this singleton going to benefit it.
If the singleton in placed at the server end, how would be maintain the session?
Can the solution you are mentioning, used in some way to implement SSO, although the login will be done through the applet?
I am sorry to be a trouble, but if can possibly provide some code snippet, it would be of immense help.
    Thnx a million!

  • Insert custom JavaScript on Oracle CRM detail page

As part of some customizations to modify the details pages, we need to insert some custom JavaScipt on Oracle CRM pages. What we understand is that this is possible using a Custom Web Applet and adding the applet to the sections layout. But with this the Custom Web Applet section bar show up in the details page.
Is there some way in which this custom JavaScript can be added to the pages without any additional sections showing up?

  • Oracle Portal 11g, Oracle WebCenter Suite or Oracle WebLogic Portal ?

Witch of these technologies, Oracle Portal 11g,
Oracle WebCenter Suite or Oracle WebLogic Portal ?
is the future product of oracle ?
I am going to use portal but I don't know witch of these product is the correct one.
I need help to clarified it. As i am going to use portal I want to use the one that oracle intend to support

    Hi Harish,
There are lot differences are available when you compare these three products, some them are
    Oracle Web Center Suite
Comprises of various components such as Web Center Interaction,Oracle Entitlement Server,Oracle Personalization Server an Ensemble(for proxying content and mashups) and chat server, wiki server, blog server, forum etc are available with web center suite. The collaboration tools are out of the box,so you dont require to redevelop anything to enable collaboration for your site.Basically webcenter is more powerful when used to develop intranet sites rather than a website which requires less collaboration.
    Oracle Portal 10g
Oracle Portal 10g is the primary oracle portal product before oracle bought BEA.The main difference is the architecture and framework,Oracle Portal uses sql/plsql intensively for processing the page as all their pages are developed from browser.Every thing you develop is streaming that is queried from DB in contrast with weblogic portal which has the feature of file based portal which is faster compared to the streaming(persistent desktops). The architecture is different compared to weblogic and webcenter. For ex:There are sql and pl/sql portlets which can be developed very faster which not there in the other two platforms.
    Oracle Weblogic Portal 10.3
It is hot in the market right now and development is easier and architecture supports both file based and streaming, the primary features of all the portal product are more or less same but webcenter has more collaborative features.Weblogic portal is very stable as it is on WLS which is a stable weblogic server.
I prefer if you have any previous experience on any of these products then built on that one.Else start with weblogic portal which is easier to startwith compared to others.
    Regards,
    Dinesh

  • Firt project in Oracle Webcenter Sites

Hi all, I'm new in this forum, so first of all, Hello and thanks for your help.
We are a web development company in Spain specialiced in LAMP on Linux Servers. One of our clients has changed project specifications to Oracle Webcenter Sites. We have never worked before with this package so we will have to hire an external team in Bilbao for it, but I have some doubts which would like to resolve as soon as possible:
Whats the scripting language and server technology for aoracle Webcenter Sites? Jave on Tomcat?
Shall me pay for any license to develop in OWS? How much is it?
I have heard that we can not work with responsive templates in OWS, is it rue?
What is the recommended IDE in Mac for OWS?
one of the project needs in AA validation, is it possible with OWS?
Thats all, thanks again for your help.
