DHCP doesn´t work to acquire IP adress via Airport

Some words to my wireless configuration. My WLAN AP is an AVM FritzBox WLAN 7050 with internal DHCP services disabled. DHCP services in the 192.168.9.0 network are provided by a Linux Server on 192.168.9.1 (range 192.168.9.200-254). Windows WLAN clients haven´t any problems to connect to the AP and get their IP from the linux dhcp server.
I can use the assistent to get access to the network. There are two stages, the first where i had to search for WLAN AP´s (which shows me the AVM box) and then provide the WPA2 password. This works and the connection to the WLAN AP is established. The next step is the connect to network button. Pressing this button the first time, i get a message that no connection to the network could be established. Pressing the button a second time gives me a connection and an IP from the range 192.168.9.200-254 is correctly assigned as well as the router adress (which is 192.168.9.99),
I know can use the WLAN network until i decided to shutdown Mac OS X and reboot. When i know restart the laptop, no connection to the network could be established. The DHCP server logfile on my linux box doesn´t show any DHCP requests during the boot phase. The airport connection tab shows "a private adress is assigned to the adapter and a network connection may not be possible ". When i go the the network connection tab, i see that for the airport adapter, the adress is 169.something. I can press the "renew dhcp release" button is often as possible, nothing happens and no log entries shows up on my dhcp server.
The only thing i can do to get a working network connection is to start the assistent again, which is very annoying.
How can i solve the problem?

  • ATV 3 doesn't play non iTunes 1080p video via Airport Router

Please advise what could be the problem. I was using a Zyxel nbg460 router and it was paying nice probably converted from MKV movies in 1080p, loading hem almost instantly and playing without a problem. But when I hooked up Airport Extreme 5-th gen, it stoped playing them. It buffers and buffers and nothing happens. Altough It plays 720p really nice. Help me please, because I bought 2 more Airport Express for extending wifi over my house, but it doesn't work.... Plugged back old router and it is all playing nice. The cause of change is that Zyxel restarts very often by itself...

Well, I have had my iPod for about 3 years, it is a 4th generation non-video 40 GB. One day it just stopped working, and now it does not play any songs. when I turn it on it makes this odd whirring sounds that computers make when they try really hard to do something. I cannot charge it, and it is not recognized by iTunes. Also when I turn it on, I get the apple.com/ipod/support (or whatever it is) screen. Needless to say, my warranty is expired, and so I cannot do anything for it except get a new battery, or buy a new one. Is there any way to fix this problem, or anyone out there who is experiencing the same thing?
I'm having the exact same problem with my wife's iPod. However it will play about 3 seconds of a song and go onto the next song.
If there is anyone out there that can help please do!

  • HT4437 I'm using an ATV2 and an ipad successfully for with airplay. Now I added a brand new ipod touch to the setup. However, for some reason airplay for music doesn't work if my projector connected via HDMI2DVI connector is turned off.

If I turn on the projector it works fine. Interesting fact is, that this is exactly the same behavior that I have when playing videos from the iPad. Worth to mention is that the ATV2 is connected to the speakers via optical cabIe. Is there a setting that I'm missing? I can't imagine that Airplay for music from the iPod requires a turned on Video device connected to the ATV2. Thanks.

Hy Alley_Cat, that was the last bit on information that I wanted to add to the question. All devices say they are up to date. Which means that iPad and iPod run 5.0.1 and ATV 2 4.4.4(3330).

  • IPhone 5 - Insert picture from email doesn't work, but sending in Photos via email does?

I have an issue with a user here at my office.  When composing an email and they insert a picture from their phone, it sends the email, but the picture is not attached.
However, if we go to Photos and send the photo via email, it works fine.
He had been able to send fine up until yesterday afternoon and then it stopped working, so I believe he's done something, but I have no idea what.  Took a look at his settings and everything seems normal.  Also, rebooted his phone, but the same issue occurs.  And as far as I know, he's the only one having this issue.
We are running email via Lotus Traveler/Domino, but I've tested my iPhone and everything sends fine, so I don't believe this is a server issue.
Does anyone have any idea of what to try here?
PS - user is using ios7.1 (same as mine)

  • Import Design Object doesn't work

    Hi people.
I have a PI 7.11 and I'm trying to import in quality environment a particular software component from development environment... and this operation seems doesn't work. The transport is via file.
The SC was already existing and I'm trying to transport a simple mapping change.
The import in QLT reports succesfully the same number objects exported in file but no change is visible in mapping in QLT.
I tried to refresh all kind of cache in java and abap; restarted java stack but nothing change.
Instead, the import of other SCs in QLT works fine.
    Some ideas to help me?
    Ciao.
    Nicola

    Hareenkumar,
at the end I solved the problem thanks to yours suggestion.
The problem was a mapping conflict in DEV environment for a map change made by another user.
Unfortunately, it was been not enaugh to solve the conflict but I have had to delete entirely the SC before to be able to import the package.
Thanks to RaviBabu too for his suggestions.
    Ciao. Nicola

  • Ipad 2 updraded to ios 6.0.1 and doesn't work well

I have recently upgraded my ipad2 to ios 6.0.1 and my safari browsers doesn't wprk well now. can i downgrade it to previous one?

    Downgrading iOS is not supported.
Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies And Data and also Clear History
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari via the taskbar and see if it works better when re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it (you could also close your the other apps that are on the taskbar), and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Just installed the latest Canon printer software update (V 3.2) from the App store. Canon Pixma MX850 will not print. Dialog says job stopped at the server - no pages found. Utilities, print test page works. Printing via Airport.

Just installed the latest Canon printer software update (V 3.2) suggested by the App store in effort to get printer working after OS update. Canon Pixma MX850 will not print. Dialog says job stopped at the server - no pages found. Utilities, print test page works. Attempting to print via Airport from a MacBook Pro. Also from a Mac Pro via ethernet. Both worked before updating to Yosemite. Canon Pro 9000 Mk 2 works via USB. Tried installing driver 10.84 from OS 10.9 as suggested by PAHU; no luck.

The "stopped at server - no pages found" message would suggest an image with the print file that is created by the printer driver on the MacBook Pro. But if the Mac Pro is getting the same message then that is unusual.
To rule out a couple of causes I would try connecting the MacBook Pro directly to the MX850 by USB cable. This action should result in a new printer for the USB connection being created automatically. If not then you may need to manually create it as you won't be able to use the existing printer that exists for the network connection. With the new printer created see if this will let you print without error.
If this USB connected printer also fails with the same message then try a reset of the printing system. Note that this action will also remove the Pro 9000 from Printers & Scanners so you will have to add it and the MX850 again.

  • DHCP & self-assigned IP problem-Airport doesn't work

I'm not really a technical type, but I'm pretty quick to pick things up and several weeks of trying to deal with this issue has made me pretty knowledgeable about things related to it specifically.
    Background:
I have a month-old Macbook Pro that runs Snow Leopard and is up to date on all its software stuff. On our home network we have another pretty new Macbook Pro running 10.5.9 and a fairly old Macbook also running 10.5.9.
We have a Linksys WRT54G wireless router. Our network uses a 40-bit Hex WEP password.
    Problem(s):
When I try to connect to our wireless network, Network preferences tells me that it cannot connect because of a self-assigned IP address. Sure enough, the IP address DHCP comes up with is of the 64.XX.XX.XX variety. Google's revealed that this is a common problem for all recent versions of OSX, back to at least Tiger.
The "subnet mask" it comes up with is 255.255.0.0, which is different from the settings on our other (working) computers, which is 255.255.255.0. I'm not sure what this means, or whether it's significant. Renewing the DHCP lease either comes up with the same 64.XX.XX.XX type or, sometimes, it comes up with no IP settings at all. The most frustrating thing about this is that if I chose "DHCP with manual address" and type in any in our set that I've confirmed isn't in use and hit "apply", as soon as I go back to the panel it has reverted to the 64.XX.XX.XX type.
I've also tried manually entering the router/subnet mask/IP data, as well as the DNS numbers, and that leads to the Network Settings connectivity dot thing being green, but the internet still doesn't work. In those cases, diagnostics claims that everything is fine up to and including the ISP, but that it's unable to connect to the server and internet.
Of note: some people with a similar problem have talked about networks with this problem working intermittently, but mine seems to be consistently broken.
Initially I was able to avoid fixing the problem by using our neighbors' unsecured wireless network, which is sort of awful, I know, but at least it kept me from having to deal with this for a while. Today it started to do the same thing to that network. Both networks continue to work on our Macbook and other Macbook Pro, which is why I don't think that it's a router problem.
I've been able to connect to our other computers through computer-to-computer networks—going through our main shared network (and thus the wireless router) doesn't seem to work—which I think shows that the Airport card/hardware itself is intact (?). I did try connecting to the internet through the "internet sharing" option on our Macbook, but that had the exact same problems.
Another thing that may or may not be relevant, but is equally infuriating:
I've also noticed that my Macbook Pro has more trouble staying connected to a network than our Macbook—even when it was working, it disconnected/timed out extremely often, which is something our Macbook never does, even from the same location. When I try to connect to a network it spends a very long time displaying the "searching for network" animation in the menu bar icon, sometimes after the Network Preferences pane believes that it's connected, and sometimes even after I hit the button to turn Airport off. It's also started refusing to connect to any networks at all, on occasion, which is especially evident in the process of the diagnostics box thingy, because there it actually tells me it's unable to connect rather than just playing the searching animation for ages.
Here are some other things that I've tried:
    setting up a new 'location'
    restarting the computer
    deleting the airport preferences file
    restarting in safe mode
    restarting open firmware
confirming that the firewall allows all incoming thingies
    resetting the router
making sure the keychain password allows all applications to access it
connecting to the internet through a computer-to-computer network from another machine
Because the situation has deteriorated over time, I'd also like to know whether people think that it's two problems (the type of router then later the airport hardware(?)/software(?) itself, perhaps) or just one. Since I've tried basically everything besides switching out our router, I'm kind of inclined to blame it on that, especially because one of the more plausible explanations for this problem that I've heard is a time-out error due to Airport expecting a faster response than it's able to get from older routers; however, the fact that other networks haven't been working means that it's not likely to be just the router. If it's just one problem, which is the simpler explanation, then I guess there's something properly wrong with my computer's software, in which case I guess I'll take it to the Apple Store. :/
I'm in love with my computer otherwise, and I'll admit that I spent a good twenty minutes sobbing out of frustration over this. Any help would be immensely appreciated.

HI and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
    Try Changing the Airport Channel
Open AirPort Utility, located in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder on a computer using Mac OS X.
Select the device you’re setting up, and then click Manual Setup. Enter the base station password if necessary
Click AirPort in the toolbar, and then click Wireless.
Choose a new channel from the Channel pop-up menu.

  • How do you save data into an excel file while myRIO is acquiring data? I tried saving it using "Write to file" but it doesn't work for some reason.

I am acquiring cosine wave and a pulse wave as input and I want to store their peak to peak values into an excel file. "Write to File" is not working for it. Is there any other vi which can be used for data logging?
    Thank you for your help.

    Hi Ssheoran,
Can you provide more detail when you say that the Write to File VI doesn't work? Is there an error given? Or can you just not find the file on your computer? Keep in mind using this file in a Real-Time VI on the myRIO will save files on the myRIO. You will then have to transfer to your PC. Please view the following video as a guide for saving files and transferring them to your computer: (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BuREWnD6Eno). Hope this helps.

  • Netboot doesn't work; DHCP issue?

I'm setting up NetBoot for the first time on my Leopard Xserve, trying to do NetInstall on some G4 clients.
Imaging seemed to work fine and the client boots as far as the grey apple screen - but then the client crashes with "You need to restart your computer now".
    The log looks like this:
    May 19 03:42:29 blue bootpd[64401]: can't open /etc/bootptab
    May 19 03:42:29 blue bootpd[64401]: server name blue.pvpa.com

May 19 03:42:29 blue bootpd[64401]: subnets: Failed to convert 'router': Invalid IP address
    May 19 03:42:29 blue bootpd[64401]: bsdpd: re-reading configuration
May 19 03:42:29 blue bootpd[64401]: bsdpd: shadow file size will be set to 48 megabytes
    May 19 03:42:29 blue bootpd[64401]: bsdpd: age time 00:15:00
I'm not running DHCP service on my Xserve - DHCP is coming from the router. The client does seem to be getting an IP address, according to Server Admin --> NetBoot --> Clients. Do I need to do something different with DHCP on the Xserve, and if so what?
Also, I tried creating /etc/bootptab by hand but that didn't make a difference either.

May 19 03:42:29 blue bootpd64401: subnets: Failed to convert 'router': Invalid IP address
This might be an issue... I've never seen this log before. Is your server on a different subnet then the clients you are attempting to boot? NetBoot doesn't work across subnets without some extra work.

iMessage doesn't work anymore suddenly. It claims that my apple id had changed, which isn't the case (App Download still working!) . Then it shows the correct Email-adress and asks for appleID password. After entering it switches to a mask witch asks for the eMail adress that should be used. There is the right One already preentered. From there it switches back to the former mask (appleID +password) and nothing happens. If you say Log in again, ist just switches between those masks without showing an error claim nor logging in. Strange thing is ist worked proppperply till a few days ago.......

    Hello there Noregret35,
I suggest this part of the iPhone Troubleshooting Assistant found here http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/phone/#section_1
If you get to step 3 I recommend closing ALL the apps.
Here is step 1 to get you started.
    Restart iPhone
To restart iPhone, first turn iPhone off by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until a red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider and iPhone will turn off after a few moments.
Next, turn iPhone on by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Is iPhone not responding? To reset iPhone, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If your device does not turn on or displays a red battery icon, try recharging next.
    Regards,
    Sterling

It's a really bad idea to post your email addresess - it's an invitation to spam - and I've asked the Hosts to remove them.
This is a user-to-user forum and no-one on here can take any direct action. If your Yahoo address is not working that's something you would need to take up with Yahoo - have you checked it by sending yourself an email to it?
Otherwise you will need to contact Support: go to https://expresslane.apple.com/ and click on 'iTunes' in the center column and then 'iTunes Store' in the right-hand column and proceed from there.
