Hi Vishwa,
I do not think it is not so easy to list out all the differences between 4.0 and 5.0 with in this small window.
If you have access to SAP market place then the document 'CRM Release notes 5.0' will give you complete list of all enhancements in detail.
If you do not have access then, please let me know so that I can sens you an extract of the document.

  • Diff betwwen dictionary and locally managed

    hai
plz explain me abt diff betwwen dictionary and locally managed

    Hi,
Its some of themost hot topics over the internet. Please read the manuals given by Adith they would explain the things.
    For starting,
    DMT
In the old versions, whenever Oracle usedto allocate space for a datafile and later on, uses that space,it used to maintain the information in some data dictionary tables(hence the name Dictionary managed). This used to create a huge amount of performance impact as for each space operation, there was a check on the data dictionary tables whether the space is there or not? This also used to lead lots of extra undo/redo getting generated because the tables in teh dictionary has to be updated. This wsa a setback.
    LMT
Oracle changed the mechanism. Now the same informaiton is maintained with the Datafile header. There is no dependency on the dictionary and hence its more faser. As well this wont generate the extra undo/redo so it will always begood. This is achieved by tracking the space by bits in a seperate segment called bitmap segment.
Well I guess that should be enough, more and much more detail in the docs.So please read them.

Now SAP evolved into using the Internet technology and is called as service oriented architecture (SOA). There are lots of functionalities available in ECC 5.0 and ECC 6.0 compared to R/3 in integrating with other systems. Probably to understand the specific release dependent changes, you can go thro the help documentation. For example to understand the diff between ECC 6.0 and ECC 5.0

  • What is the diff b/w Sap Scripts and Smart Forms

    Hi,
Whats the diff b/w SAP Scripts and Smart Forms..
I need the internal explanation for both Smart Forms and SAP Scripts mean when we execute what happens whether Print Program r Forms starts execution 1st  and SIMILARLY FOR SMARTFORMS WHETHER FM'S  R FORMS.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Gopi.

    Hi
    Difference with SMARTFORMS vs. SapScript(SE71)
The Following are the differences :-
    a) Multiple page formats are possible in smartforms which is not the case in SAPScripts
    b) It is possible to have a smartform without a main window .
    c) Labels cannot be created in smartforms.
    d) Routines can be written in smartforms tool.
    e) Smartforms generates a function module when activated.
    f) Unlike sapscripts (RSTXSCRP), you cannot upload/download Smartform to your local harddisk.
It was said that it was provided in CRM 3.0 version, but not available in R/3. You can download smartforms into Local PC in a XML format. In the same way you can upload this XML format into Smartform. From the smartform editor itself you can call download option, if you are working in CRM 3.0 environment.
In R3 also, you can download into XML format. However, it's not sure about uploading. Refer to the program 'SF_XSF_DEMO'.
In 4.7 Enterprise, other have seen this utlity which is completey missing in 4.6c. There is functionality to downlaod a complete form or only a particular node. (Utilities -> Download form). It will create a XML file and save it in the hard disk.
For others, if you want to download/upload the Smartforms source, you will need the help from the Basis people. What you can do is to create a Transport and then FTP down to your local harddisk. When you need the Smartform source in another system, you have FTP up the Smartforms file back to the SAP server. Finally, the Basis team, will tp it into your system.
    g) The protect and endprotect command in sapscript doesn't work with smartforms. For example on a invoice: First data of position no 80. is printed on page one, other data of position no 80 is printed on page 2. And there's nothing you can do about it. Actually, there is something you can do about it. By using a folder node and checking the 'protect' checkbox, everything in that folder will be page protected.

  • Difference between  crm 3.0  and crm  4.0  and crm 5.0

Please  tell  what is diff  between  crm  3,4,5.
    Thanks

    Asha,
I can't post all the details here but here is your quick summary
SAP CRM 3.0 was primarily SAP GUI based solution, did not have full functionality that was contained in CRM 4.0.  3.0 is no longer in support
SAP CRM 4.0 introduced IC webclient along with full use of PCUI.  Was considered first "full functionality" release.  4.0 is still in support for at least one more year
SAP CRM 5.0 refined the PCUI and included some functionality enhancements to CRM 4.0.  5.0 is still in support for about two more years.
If you are interested in specific details for each release, I suggest you view the release notes located out on http://help.sap.com for each version.
    Take care,
    Stephen

  • What is diff b/w sy-index and sy-tabix

    Hi all,
Can u plz give me the diff b/w sy-index and sy-tabix exactly and how it works.
    Thanks & Regards
    Venkat

    Hi Venkat,
    <b>1.SY-INDEX</b>
    <b>-></b>Current loop pass
<b>-></b>In a DO or WHILE loop, SY-INDEX contains the number of loop passes including the current pass.
    <b>2.SY-TABIX</b>
    <b>-></b>Current line index
Current line of an internal table. SY-TABIX is set by the statements below, but only for index tables.
The field is either not set or is set to 0 for hashed tables.
<b>APPEND</b> sets SY-TABIX to the index of the last line of the table, that is, it contains the overall number of entries in the table.
    <b>
COLLECT</b> sets SY-TABIX to the index of the existing or inserted line in the table. If the table has the type HASHED TABLE, SY-TABIX is set to 0.
<b>LOOP AT</b> sets SY-TABIX to the index of the current line at the beginning of each loop lass. At the end of the loop, SY-TABIX is reset to the value that it had before entering the loop. It is set to 0 if the table has the type HASHED TABLE.
<b>READ TABLE</b> sets SY-TABIX to the index of the table line read. If you use a binary search, and the system does not find a line, SY-TABIX contains the total number of lines, or one more than the total number of lines. SY-INDEX is undefined if a linear search fails to return an entry.
    <b>
SEARCH</b> <itab> FOR sets SY-TABIX to the index of the table line in which the search string is found.
I think that it clears ur doubt.
    <b>Thanks,
    Venkat.O</b>

  • Mapping Z-fields of BP in CRM to ECC and vice versa

    Hi Gurus,
Z-fields for BP were created in CRM using EEWB and AET tool. These z-fields need to be transferred from CRM to ECC, standard fields like KNB1-ALTKN, KNKK-REVDB,KNKA-KLIME... etc.
Now, that these z-fields are added in the BDoc. I believe no enhancement is required on CRM.
Please guide me on how to map these z-fields from CRM to standard feilds of ECC.
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi,
Thats right! C03 best practices would be certainly helpful to you.
Few important steps for BP repllication from CRM to ECC would be
In CRM , First define your Logical destination in BD54 .
    1) SU01 Transaction to create users : create user in CRM & R/3
    2) Transaction code SM59 : Create RFC DESTINATION .. here u use the users created for reaching into R/3 from CRM
    3) transaction code: SMOEAC: ADMINISTRATION CONSOLE:-
here define Publication, subscription and site ( OLTP) , and define replication objects ( like BUPA_MAIN, BUPA_REL)
    4) define Queue: SMQR and SMQS - inbound and outbound queue /
    Que registration .
    5) check entry in R/3 side tables:- Make the proper entry into R/3 side tables in SM30
    a)CRMRFCPAR
    b)CRMPAROLTP
    c)CRMSUBTAB
    d) CRMCONSUM
These are important steps for Middleware settings between CRM & R/3
In addition to this , you need to correctly define your
    1) in CRM ,BP GROUPINGS with Internal Number range
    2) in R/3 define "Account Group" with "External Number Range" for BUSINESS PARTNER
    3) In R/3 , Mapping of CRM CLASSIFICATION with R/3 account group...e.g. Classification B for customer with ACCOUNT group of R/3
You need to also map in CRM  correctly the partner functions and R/3 Partner functions.

  • Diff  b/n sy-tabix and sy-indx

    diff  b/n sy-tabix and sy-indx ?

    Hi Henry,
SY-INDEX is the value of the current iteration. It is applicable for the following programming constructs in ABAP -
    DO...ENDDO.
    WHILE...ENDWHILE.
SY-TABIX (TABle IndeX) is applicable to internal tables. If you scroll down in the link which Eddie has given, you will find a more detailed explanation for sy-tabix and which statements affect its value.

  • Wht is diff b/w sy-ucomm and ok code

    hi,
    what is diff b/w sy-ucomm and ok-code
    Regards,
    Rani.

    Hi,
sy-ucomm is for doing the functions what the user wishes to do at that particular event. You use it in menus and other place . this mainly in using <pfstatus>
ok_code is generally used in screen as of I have used. You will define the function in the screen. and you can use it in the main program.
ok_code acts just as a temporary variable that stores the value of sy-ucomm.
When user interacts with the screen elements, the function code that you have assigned is filled in the sy-ucomm field which is turn gets reflected in OK_CODE.
In your ABAP programs, you should work with the OK_CODE field instead of SY-UCOMM. There are two reasons for this: Firstly, the ABAP program has full control over fields declared within it, and secondly, you should never change the value of an ABAP system field. However, you should also always initialize the OK_CODE field in an ABAP program for the following reason:
In the same way that the OK_CODE field in the ABAP program and the system field SY-UCOMM receive the contents of the corresponding screen fields in the PAI event, their contents are also assigned to the OK_CODE screen field and system field SYST-UCOMM in the PBO event. Therefore, you must clear the OK_CODE field in the ABAP program to ensure that the function code of a screen is not already filled in the PBO event with an unwanted value. This is particularly important when the next PAI event can be triggered with an empty function code (for example, using ENTER). Empty function codes do not affect SY-UCOMM or the OK_CODE field, and consequently, the old field contents are transported.

  • Diff. b/w 3.5 and 3.0b

    Hi bwers,
Please let me know the diff. b/w 3.5 and 3.0b. Tell me in an explanation way rather than sending the documents. Thanks in advance.
And one more query is i have a cube consisting of a 3requests in green and 1 red request and a 3 requests green..  Is it possible to delete that red request and if so what will be the affect ..

    Hi,
the main difference of 3.5 in respect to 3.0b is the broadcasting and some other front-end functions... The datawarehousing workbench is the same.
Business content is also enhanced in 3.5....
    SEM-BPS also enhanced...
Yes you can delete that red request and you will then miss this data. Check if this request needs to posted in the cube. If yes then analyze why it failed. Take the corrective measures and try to repost it.
If you don't need it then just delete it.
    hope this helps,
    Olivier.

  • Diff B/W master data and transaction data

    Hi all,
What is the main Diff B/W master data and transaction data.  give me some example ?
    Thanks in Advance
    Krish...

    hi krish,
MASTER Data is the data that exists in the organization like employee details, material master, customer master, vendor master etc. These are generally created once.
Master data are distributed throughout the company, they are often not standardised and often redundant. As a result it is very costly to offer efficient customer service, keep track of supply chains and make strategic decisions. With SAP Master Data Management (SAP MDM) these important business data from across the company can be brought together, harmonised and made accessible to all staff and business partners. As a key component of SAP NetWeaver, SAP MDM ensures data integrity via all IT systems.
Regardless of the industry, companies often work with different ERP and Legacy systems. The result: the business processes are based on information about customers, partners and products which is displayed in different ways in the systems. If the data are recorded manually, there are more inconsistencies: some data sets are entered several times, others cannot be retrieved by all divisions of the company.
As corporate applications are becoming increasingly complex and produce ever greater amounts of data, the problem is intensified further. Nevertheless, your employees must work with the inconsistent data and make decisions on this basis. The lack of standardised master data easily leads to wrong decisions, which restrict efficiency and threaten customer satisfaction and profitability.
In a word: in order to save costs and ensure your company’s success it is necessary to consolidate master data about customers, partners and products, make them available to all employees beyond system boundaries and use attributes valid company-wide for the purpose of description.
TRASNACTION Data - These are the business documents that you create using the master data - Purchase orders, sales orders etc

  • Diff b/w occurs 0 and occurs1?

    Hi
what is the main diff b/w occurs 0 and occurs1?
    thanks and regards,
    sap abap.

OCCURS 0 creates an internal table with no rows pre-buit in it upon creation.
OCCURS 1 creates an internal table with 1 row pre-built in it upon creation.
The changing of OCCURS upon creation is really only benenficial when you KNOW ahead of time that a certain number (or large number) of rows WILL NEED to be created on-the-fly.  In these cases, you will get better run-time execution by having an OCCURS 10000, for example.IF you know that at least 10,000 rows will be needed, this will help your prog to run faster as it does not need to expand the table EACH time (or at least until it reaches beyond 10K).
Creating the additional rows during r/t is expensive, if you can have the foresight to know in advance for large progs, you can help the run-time engine.
