Diff. in Reports 6i (Ver 6.0.8.11.3    &    6.0.8.10.1)

I would like to know difference between Oracle Reports6i Ver 6.0.8.11.3 & 6.0.8.10.1.
We are facing some problems which we feel is due to incompatability between the 2 versions.
Any information on the same would be of great help.
Thanx In advance.

hi toby,
We are facing a problem with non-linkable query in data model.
The report version we are using is 6.0.8.11.3 and at client side it is 6.0.8.10.1.
In a normal grouped report we are ordering by a column in a group (by setting the break order as ascending).
This works fine here.
The problem is, grouped query does not fetch records in the desired order at client site.
Note: When the query in the client site is opened and even a column alias is changed and saved. It creates a non-linkable query icon besides the query name and the report runs fine.
We are not sure why this happens? Is it due to version mis-match or something else. Please advice.

  • Results in Query Builder Differ From Report Results

I've got a report I built in SSRS using an SSAS dataset. The problem is that the results differ between the query builder result set and the actual report. For some reason, when running the actual report, certain rows are being filtered out, but yet those
same rows appear in the result set when validating the query in the query builder.
Here's the result set as it appears in query builder:
...and here are the results of the actual report:
As you can see, 3M and Angie's popcorn are not returned in the report. I have no filters defined on the report at all.
This appears to be happening with other result sets for the same report.
No idea why the results are accurate in query builder and then off in the actual report.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    A. M. Robinson

    Hi A. M. Robinson,
The issue may be caused by the data cache. When we preview a report, the report processor runs all the queries for datasets in the report using the current parameter defaults, and saves the results as a local data cache (.rdl.data) file. We can continue
to design our report without incurring the overhead of retrieving this data again if we make no changes to either the report dataset queries or the report parameters. Please to delete the cache (.rdl.data) file try to solve the issue.
    Reference: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms157366.aspx
Alternative, you can create a similar report to check if the issue is persist.
If the issue is persist, could you please post more detail information about your report design?  It is benefit for us to do further analysis.

  • URGENT: 9i report server for reports (9i ver) deployed on Weblogic6.1

    Hi,
My company's product is a web-based reporting application running on WebLogic6.1 and Reports6i. I have recommeded using Reports9i due to its vast array of features. In the test environment, I have been able to successfully integrate Reports9i on WebLogic through the Reports9i J2EE Thin Client.
I would like to know that, for production, is it possible to use this same configuration to pass requests to a stand alone oracle9i report server as was the case in 6i. Since we are already using weblogic6.1 in production and cannot migrate the entire application to oracle9ias appserver just for using the reporting functionality.
    Thanks,
    Bharat

    Bharat,
I would suggest you to read the readme which is available with the Oracle9i Reports J2EE Thin Client.
Please note that for testing and development purpose,
your configuration of "Oracle9i Reports J2EE Thin Client for WebLogic used to pass request to a standalone Report9i Server installed through the Oracle9i Developer Suite." is perfectly O.K
However, To use in deployment / production environemnt, you must have a license of Oracle 9i Application server
Please let us know if this is not clear
    Thanks

  • Can't use != in a report HTMLDB ver 2

Just a note to any one if they get the same
I created a report (just a select with where clauses)
I was trying to exclude STATUS where STATUS = D
    I tried
    where
    table.STATUS != 'D'
    table.STATUS <> 'D'
the only thing I could get to work was
    where
    table.STATUS IS NULL or table.STATUS = 'A' or table.STATUS='C'
these are the only values other than D in the column
    strange one

    try
    where NVL(table.STATUS,'qswea23v5') != 'D'
This ensure that null values are evaluated correctly.
    Hope this helps!

  • Cyrstal Report Server Version Compatible With What Crystal Reports 2008 Ver

I am currently running Crystal Report Server Version 12.1.0.882 . I am having issues getting my reports to run on the reporting server. I need to install Crystal Reports on the same machine so that I can test the connection to the database that we are reporting on. The Crystal Report 2008 version I have is 12.2.0.290 but it is incompatible with the current Server version so they can not both run on the same machine.
What version of the Crystal Reporting Server matches up with the latest version of Crystal Report 2008 12.2.0.290?

If you want to run Crystal Reports created with Crystal Reports 2008 designer (I believe you are using SP2) you need to have Crystal Reports Server 2008.
    Hope this helps...

  • Values of same Variable(used in diff reports) shud be retained in a session

    Hello,
We have an application cockpit. There are 12 to 13 different reports being used in that cockpit. Most of the reports use the same characteristic variables in the report.
When we used to execute these reports in Ver 3.x, the variables used to retain their values in the same session. i.e. if for 0Material, user gave : 'TIP120' as a value in selection criteria in one report, then, if he executed another report after that, which uses the same variable on 0Material, then it retained its previous value: 'TIP120'.
Recently we have migrated to BW 7.0. Now, the variables no longer retain their values in the same session and the user has to type the value again. (personalization is an option but we want the variable should retain the values in same session).
Any help/advise on this will be of great importance as the user is not very comfortable putting values again, each time he runs the report.
    Warm Regards,
    Sumita

  • REP-57000 Error When Generating a Report in EXCEL format

    Hello All,
We're encountering an error that says "REP-57000: Oracle Reports API - Internal error: Item: oracle.reports.definition.RWReport;Prop:34; Attr: ]] ...".
The report works fine and is able to generate an EXCEL file when it retrieves around 3K records. We only encounter the error when the number of records exceeds 5K.
What is the cause of the error? Additional note, we're using Oracle Reports Server ver.10.1.2.0.2.
Any help would be greatly appeciated. =)

In the reports engine conf file (Example on UAT -> rep_lonshutl5n2_10gr2_forms_reports_service.conf) add JVM Heap Options
    jvmOptions="-Xms512m -Xmx512m"
First option is the minimum heap size and second is maximum. The size is in MB and max size can go up to 4000 depending on physical/virtual memory available on Operating System.
Change this Value from 512-2000 and try running your report
In case this doesn't solve your problem, change your output Format to DELIMITEDDATA and try running the reports. There is a bug in Oracle that it doesn't support large excel outputs in DELIMITED format.

  • Crystal Reports 2008 can't access R/3 queries

    Hi there,
My company is in the middle of SAP implementation and our go-live is in 2 months. We don't have a BW system in place and are (for the most part) using the Standard SAP Reports available out of the box to facilitate the requirements of the different business users. But as we all know, there are always some reports that require customization. So, for that we decided to use Crystal Report 2008 (ver. 12.3.0.601) to design custom reports while accessing data from the Standard SAP Tables. I am able to access the Standard SAP Tables in R/3 (built on Oracle database) and the fields in those tables from the Crystal Report 2008 Database Expert option and have created an A/R Aging Report successfully. However, while working on my second report (GL Journal Entry By Invoice#) I am struggling to maintain and improve the query execution time since I am accessing data from huge standard FI-CO tables (BSEG, BSID, BSAD). Our 3rd party implementation team has already designed a custom report in R/3 that is available in all the clients using the T-Code in NetWeaver for the end users but it's missing some fields that the end users would need for go-live and it's not possible to ask the 3rd party implementation team to make the needed changes to the already customized report (for whatever reasons). And, that's why, I am asked to customize this report in Crystal. I suspect the execution time is so bad in Crystal because of lack of filtering of the data when I am pointing at the huge Standard Tables. I would have added some SQL clause and filters to bring in only the required fields from the table into the Crystal environment but I don't have that option since the R/3 system is sitting on Oracle. I have couple questions:
    1) Would it be advantageous to build the custom Crystal Report on top the custom R/3 report that is already in place since in the R/3 report I can create a default variant with the conditions I want and it gets executed every time I call it in Crystal giving me only the data I am interested in? And, is it even possible?
    2)  Why am I not able to see the R/3 custom report from the Database Expert option even though the report is accessible from NetWeaver? I am able to access all the Standard SAP Tables from Database Expert in Crystal 2008.
And I forgot to add, we don't have an ABAP expert in house to create ABAP function modules that might help me filter the data in the R/3 system.
Is there any suggestions that will get the job done? Am I doing anything wrong here?
Sorry for the long story but I wanted to give you guys a full background of the issue.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

No - this is not possible; you can only report in Crystal against ECC tables, ABAP functions, and SAP Query/Infosets

ABAP Reports are not a datasource in Crystal

    Hello,
Those are some big tables to be reporting against in Crystal
Have you considered creating an InfoSet using logical database BRM (Financial Documents) that could then be used to report against Crystal?
We do use Crystal / SAP Query against the logical database BRM as an InfoSet and so far we haven't seen the performance issues you are describing.
Also, have you considered upgrading to Crystal Reports 2011?  Not sure that it would help the performance issues you are describing.

  • Need Help existing Crystal 8.5 to Ver.11 Install and SmartViewerActiveX.asp

How to get my reports working, required Install onto Server? Version Changes to Code?
Like other developers I am trying to reconfigure an existing solution / application that uses Crystal Reports 8.5 & RDC to call and display reports now moving to Crystal Reports XI =Ver.11.   Here is an almost identical issue that I have used for the basis of my question.
    Link: [ CRViewer - Crystal 8.5 VS. Crystal 11|http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=1505100&page=6|From www.tek-tips.com]
Just like the linked site's questions for the reports, our ActiveX viewer is called from within the ASP code  SmartViewerActiveX.asp from Ver 8.5, we now have Crystal Reports XI = Ver.11 Developer.
However I am not sure that the other site was clear with the procedure for deployment and setup and that's why I am seeking help with the Crystal Reports we have in our projects.
Do I install Crystal Reports XI Developer onto the Server to get the VIEWER?
What configuration is required so that the NEW Ver. 11 viewer works with 8.5?
What code changes are required to use a new Activex Viewer object?
I have legacy Crystal Reports solution using 8.5 and moving to Crystal Ver. 11.  Need help with clear requirements for what is required and how to install the required components to the WEB SERVER / IIS Server.  Using "Unmanaged" Reports with Crystal Dev. Edition Ver. 8.5 to Ver. 11.  Currently 8.5 is not working I suspect due to the viewer not being installed to the server.
CODE LINE from my SmartViewerActiveX.asp in my IIS server.....
    "/viewer9/activeXViewer/activexviewer.cab#Version=9,2,0,442"
I have not found a virtual folder reference to a folder that contains, /viewer9/activeXViewer/activexviewer.cab on the IIS server.  Keep in mind this is a NEW server with many of the application solutions copied to it without complete migration steps and possibly missing installation steps such as Crystal Reports Developer CD Ver.11.
Below are the steps I had found at the LINK above, however I need validation if this is the correct steps and clarification of the steps.  This will eventually be going onto a PRODUCTION server and I need to minimize the possibility of killing other apps and potentially the server.  (Windows 2003 Server, with Mainly VISTA and Win 7 clients via IE. 8 to present version.)
    From: (http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=1505100&page=6)
    NEED MORE DETAILS
    1. Install CR11 developer to server
    2.  Setup Virtual Path within IIS for ActiveX component
       C:\program files\common........\Busines objects\3.0\CrystalReportsViewers11\activexcontrols
    3. Check registry to get classid for activex control
    hkey_classes_root
      Crystalreports.activexreportviewer
      CLSID
      CurVer
    4. Change code to use new activex control page:  Smartvieweractivex.asp
    5. migrate reports from Crystal Reports 8.5 to 11
    6. run application and open report using CR11 viewer
    Help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks.

    Thanks for ALL your feedback!
Still not there yet with a solution or option from the last reply....
I tried to be as brief as possible, however it appears that there are MANY issues surrounding Crystal Reports in General let alone the versions and applications that had been developed and very little straight forward information on how to migrate/move and use existing applications on NEW servers (NOTE: Old CR 8.5 is running in a newer environment as it had been developed at the Company that had previously owned us.).
I am trying to get the application that is OLD re-deployed into a new company, with old data, old reports, just to make the existing solution work.   Crystal Reports Ver. 11 was brought into the mix when a copy of Crystal 8.5 could not be purchased by our new company.  Right after purchase of Ver.11, I was able to get the original 8.5 DEV CD and License from our old company.
    Q: 1)  "/viewer9/activeXViewer/activexviewer.cab#Version=9,2,0,442"
A: This is what is on the server that the Crystal Reports 8.5 solution is running on in the server environment that it currently is running and working in.  PROBLEM.. The Our Comapny is no longer part of the other Company... They have theirs running without issue with Crystal 8.5 Reports, and the command line listed above on their IIS server... This is what was given to me to migrate into our NEW Company environment.
Q: 2) CR 11 is rather undefined... There is CR XI Release 1 (11.0)
A: APPEARS that I have CR XI Release 1 (11.0)  - HELP ABOUT SHOWS 11.0.0.1282
Q: How do you get the app on your server? Use the RDC merge modules and create a setup or an MSI.
Not sure what, "...Use the RDC merge modules and create a setup or an MSI..." involves??
Why Can't I just install this using the CR Dev. CD.?  The Product was purchased with 2 Licenses.
I also have the OLD Crystal Reports Developer Ver. 8.5 CD that could be used to re-deploy the viewers.
Q: Did you realize that the RDC is retired in CR 11.5?... ETC..
A:  Yes, again why cant the existing solution of Crystal Reports 8.5 RPT files be used on the IIS server being called via Crystal Reports 8.5 Viewers...  I have access to the original 8.5 CD,.. Again not sure how to deploy the VIEWERS part to the server..
Trying to get the simplest solution to have the existing 8.5 Reports, running from the IIS Web Server using the ActiveX viewer and URL Calls...
    ALL HELP IS WELCOME!
    Thanks

  • Problem in displaying selection screen of a abap-hr report

    Hi,
I have developed a abap-hr report in ver..6.2.I have used logical data base PNP for it.It was working fine.
But when i migrate it into ver.4.6, I can see no selection screen for the report.
    How to get the selection-screen?
    Please help me through.
    Thanks in advance,
    Raj.
Edited by: raj b on Feb 20, 2008 8:00 AM

    Hi Raj,
Please check whether you have assigned any report category for the PNP selection screen in the version 6.2.
The report category might not exist in the 4.6 version and that might be the reason the selection screen is not appearing.
    Cheers,

  • Detailed Aging Report from SAP B1 v2007A

    Hello all,
I have SAP Business One v 2007 A in my company. The auditors are coming in next week and I was trying to get the Aging report for both vendor and customer. The default summary looks good. To get the details, I have to go into each customer/vendor and collect them. Is there a way to get all the details in one shot (like an executing an SQL)?
    Thank you all so much.
    Manoj.

Hello Manoj - maybe try this since it uses the actual General Journal entries found in the JDT1 table.  PS - I have no idea why it does not show the NOT EQUAL characters of < and > in the last CASE.  The CASE calculation should be the same in all instances - make sure you add that before running. I used the appropriate coding for the SQL - something about SAP forums!!!
For Vendors, just change the CardType to S in the WHERE clause, the Transtype, and change the column headings to what you want them to say.
    Hope this helps...

Hello Julian - maybe you can start with the JDT1 table which contains all of the General Ledger Journal Entries...
    Hope this helps...

  • Aging  - 7 Buckets Report

    Hi,
I have to add some conditions in this report. So, i did corrections in After Parameter form trigger. After the corrections, i can't able to compile that. When compiling it is coming out from Report builder.
I have downloaded all RDFs related to this report. But still it is giving error. What is the solution for this?. Any one can help for this problem?
I'm using report builder ver 6.0.8.11.3. I tried to compile the original RDF file for 'ARXAGMW' also. But i'm facing same problem.
    Thanks in advance.
    Kavi.

Try checking if the report has any library attached. If compiling on the client fails, try registering a new executable and concurrent program and upload the rdf to test it directly on the server, it will try to compile there before running
