Difference Between 720p30pn and 720p30p on HVX-200 for Music Video Shoot

I'm shooting a music video on the HVX-200. I'm new to the camera and the manual offers little explanation as to the difference/advantages/disadvantages between 720p30pn and 720p30p recording format. I want to shoot VFR (variable frame rates) and mix it with the footage which I think only works with the 720p30p recording format.
Does anyone know the differences/advantages/disadvantages of 720p30pn and 720p30p?
As I'm going for the "film look" of 24fps, which setting on the camera do I use? I'm assuming that I use the 720p30 recording format setting and not the 720p24 as I'm obviously not outputting to film, but then again, I could be wrong.
I do know when I was testing the P2 workflow that when I was doing the VFR (variable frame rate), it was unplayable even with rendering on FCP 5.1. I'm sure I had some funky disconnect between the recording frame rate and sequence settings on FCP. Does anyone know which recording format works integrating both footage shot at 1x and variable and what is the corresponding sequence setup settings on FCP?
Thanks for the help.

Why not shoot 720/24pNative for the "film look."
With the default frame setting in the video or the film mode?
You will mimic part of the "film look" out of the cam rather than addressing it in post, and you increase the amount of footage that can be recorded to a p2 card by recording only 24 frames rather than an over 60 recording.
Play with the scene files for the look you want to add to the "film look."
Remember that the shallow DOF characteristic of the "film look" can't be readily achieved with a stock HVX200.

  • Difference between passive and active data connection mode for  FTP

    Hi,
Does any body have the idea of passive and active data connection mode for the transport protocol FTP.
I have one server with FTP, I have to pick the data from this FTP to XI.
What is the difference between active and passive data connection? Does XI supports both the connections?
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi
According to SAP Note - 821267
Q: Does the File Adapter support active data connections when connecting to an FTP server?
A: Up to and including SP14, the File Adapter exclusively uses passive data connections. Starting with SP15, active connections will be available.

  • Difference between 60hz and 120-240hz lcd monitor for gaming??   OT

I don't have an apple display but have a 40" lcd tv. Does this higher Hz really help with motion and will it help with games that play at a higher Hz rate?
After editing all day its nice to play a game now and then but there is one problem I have. *Ghost Recon* will not play on this lcd tv. Every other game I tried will work but I don't mess with those much. I just can't figure out why this one game will not work with this 60hz lcd tv.
I can plug a dvi and sub-15 out of my *MDD G4* together into the monitor and then it will work. I have to mirror the monitors together to make it work tough.
It's very odd that this will work even with the crt monitor off, but they both still need to be plugged in.
So should I try to buy a 120hz lcd tv and see if that works but thats a $700 mistake that would be really bad to the budget.
Obviously this is this game only. I borrowed a friends new Acer 22" computer monitior and put it on 60hz and the game played today.
I really am confused about this.
    Thanks for the help
    Tony

The way a 120 Hz monitor/TV works is to insert an interpolated image in between the two actual images that were passed to the display by the video source. Consider the example of a a ball in motion, like say you a watching a tennis match. Consider that 60 frames per second of video are being passed from the video source (computer, cable box, whatever...) to the display. In frame one, let's say the ball is at position A. In frame two, lets say the ball is at position B. So as rendered on the display the ball would appear to jump from A ---> B and the next frame to C, like A---> B--->C, etc.
What a 120 Hz display does is insert extra images between frames one and two, and two and three and so on. In that case a "fake" image of the ball is computed by DSP and inserted between the other "real" locations so the ball moves like this: A->A'->B->B'-C, etc. so the appearance is smoother motion of the ball as the display is updated not 60 times per second, but 120 times per second.
This would improve the appearance of motion in video games. The downside can be latency because there is a delay penalty that will occur from the required frame buffering and processing. You should probably find a dedicated game website and read up more about this kind of technology before committing $700 to it. And it won't make a game play that, for whatever reason, isn't currently playing on your system. So Ghost Recon isn't playing for some other unrelated reason.

  • What are the differences between api and sdk

    Hi,
Could anybody clarify for me what are the difference between API and SDK? I googled for the answer, and couldn't find any thing on this topic.
    Many thanks in advance.
    javasfan

Is it correct to say that "a SDK includes all the
APIs"? or "API sits on top of the SDK"?It's a bit weird to say either. First, the JDK doesn't include all APIs. Just the J2SE core API. Others, like 3rd party libraries or J2EE are not included. Second, if you mean the API docs, they're also not included IIRC.
It'd technically only be correct to say "the SDK provides an API", I guess. The example is very lame, but: if the SDK is a machine, the API is the sum of its buttons and levers and gauges and intakes and outlets and exhausts. The API docs are the manual.

  • Difference between powerjolt and powerpod?

doeS anyone know the difference between powerjolt and powerpod? i have a 5gen video ipod...what iS better to have difference between powerjolt and powerpod? thankS
    lauren

Griffin Technology’s PowerJolt is a follow up to the company’s earlier PowerPod package, which combined a FireWire port car charger with one of Griffin’s Dock400 FireWire-to-iPod cables - compatible with 3G, 4G, photo/color, and mini iPods. If you had your own standard FireWire-to-FireWire cable, included with old iPods, you could recharge one of those iPods, too.
PowerJolt, by comparison, contains a USB port that you can use directly with the bottom of the iPod shuffle, and a USB to Dock Connector cable that lets you recharge 4G, photo/color, and mini iPods. It’s not listed as compatible with the 3G iPod.
The PowerJolt comes with a charger module and a separate 4 foot, high quality Dock Connector to USB cable.
    This is currently made for:
    • iPod Shuffle
    • iPod mini
    • iPod Photo
    • 4th Generation iPod with Click Wheel

  • Difference between PDS and PPM and which one should be used for SNP /ppds?

    Hi Gurus,
Just wanted to know what are the difference between PDS and PPM ?
    1. For what industrial products we use PDS and PPM in SNP and PPDS?
    2. which one can be refered to clients?
Please let me know it will be really great if anyone let me know the answers
    Thanks & Regards,
    Raj

    Hi Rajkumar,
I have given below the detailed comparative account of PDS Vs PPM. Please copy and put it in an excel sheet in different columns and then read which is easy to understand.
    PDS
    1. Production Data Structure (PDS) in APO 3.1 & Run Time Object (RTO) in 4.0 and above versions
    2. Master Data Object
    3. Useful for scenarios where the compoenent has got different validity periods
    4. Used as Master data Basis for Planning in SAP-APO
    5. Contains active Master data from iPPE (Integrated Product and Process Engineering) generated from a production version
    6. PPDS PDS & SNP PDS can be used as master data for planning
    7. Change Management, variant configuration & Phantom assemplies are supported in PDS
    8. Sub-contracting in SNP is fully integrated with R/3 is supported in PDS
    9. Direct transfer of SNP PDS from R/3 is possible
10.Rapid Planning Matrix can be generated
    11. Not possible to maintain PDS directly in APO and can be used only in combination with R/3
    12. The transfer of data changes is simpler
    13. Not possible to create alternate SNP-PDS in std system for different mode combinations
    14. PDS can be automatically generated from two sources ie R/3 and iPPE
    PPM:-
    1. Production Process Model
    2. Master Data Object
    3. Cannot be used for scenarios where the component has got different validity period
    4. Used as Master data Basis for Planning in SAP-APO
    5. Contains active Master data generated from the combination of routing (BoM & receipe) and production versions
    6. PPDS PPM & SNP PPM's can be used as master data for planning
    7. Not supported by PPM
    8. Not supported by PPM
    9. Not possible here. SNP PPMs will be generated via PPDS PPMs
    10. Not possible
    11. PPMs can be directly created in APO and can be modified without R/3 also.
    12. Little Complex when compared to PDS
    13. Alternate SNP-PPMs can be easily created
    14. PPM can be generated automatically generated only from R/3
PDS is used in industries wherein there are multiple components or assemblies having diffeent production versions whose validity periods are different.  PPM is being used typically in process industries, chemical industries.  PPM is very simple in its usage and very flexible in operations in terms of modifications at APO level and can be referred to client depending on the business requirement

  • Difference between fl and flash libraries?

(new to cs3 - java expert...)
I'm trying to write some action script to set the default
focus of a text component when the applications run...
It seems there is a fl.managers.FocusManager that
could/should do it... but for some reason, I cannot import that
package into my AS. I can import an arbitrary
    flash.<something>.somthing.
Question - In the AS editor, there is a menu (plus sign (+)
icon) with all(?) the available packages/classes, languange
constructs, etc. Should I be able to use them all? Is there a
difference between "fl" and "flash" - assuming "fl" is for Flash
just like the product logo "fl"?
    thanks a bunch.

    Craig,
    > Is there a difference between "fl" and "flash" -

The fl packages are top level classes based on ECMAScript,
    while the
flash packages are specifically Flash Player APIs.

  • Difference Between HashMap and HashTable

    Difference Between HashMap and HashTable
    Please explain with an example

I have a situation in Java Collection and i am not
able to figure a good solution. I am scared about the
performance and memory that wil be used
I have 5 List objects with thousands and thousands of
records in it. The List is populated by a database
query using jdbcTemplate which return like 200,000
    records
Each record is identified by POLICY_ID. They may be
List with multiple records for a POLICY_ID
I want to extract each POLICY_ID from all the 5 List
and make a single List object for each POLICY_ID and
for each List and pass it to a print job which will
print the data for a POLICY_ID
    Example
    Let say we have POLICY_ID = 15432
List1 has one record for 15432
List2 has one record for 15432
List3 has one record for 15432
List4 has three record for 15432
List5 has three record for 15432
From the 200,000 records in List1 i want to generate
a seperate list with 1 record for policy id 15432 and
    let name is Listperpolicy
    after this logic we have
    Listperpolicy1
    Listperpolicy2
    Listperpolicy3
    Listperpolicy4
    Listperpolicy5
    call print job ( Listperpolicy1, Listperpolicy2,

this is all sound sound info direct from a man at nvidia who knows
PLEASE NOTE ONLY MCP2-T BOARD MSI DO AT THE MOMMENT IS THE K7N2G-ILSR
The MCP has no hardware support for audio of any kind, period. Windows and the CPU do all the audio work on that part and there is absolutely no DSP, NVIDIA or otherwise, in that chip to help out. Try to do EAX, any kind of reverb or chorus, or a music preset on those boards and you'll see the CPU usage climb. Ditto if you add more voices to the mix: CPU usage goes up.
The MCP-T has a full hardware audio DSP, hardware acceleration for 2D and 3D streams, and Dolby Digital encode support. EQs, HRTFs, and all environmental settings are exposed and modifiable by the user. None of this is available on the soft solutions due to the heavy hit on the CPU if they were enabled.
Short of that, you can try to use the ASIO or OpenAL drivers. You'll find that neither will work on the MCP because there is no supporting hardware for them. In short, there is no way to coax an MCP to be an APU capable part, the support simply isn't in the chip
    Here's the chip differences:
    MCP has the following:
    - ATA-133 x 2 ports
    - USB 1.0/1.1/2.0 x 6 ports
    - NVIDIA MAC 10/100 x 1 port
    - Legacy I/O bus (PS2, Printer, Serial)
    - AC 97 host based audio (no DSP)
MCP-T includes the above and adds the following:
    - 3Com MAC 10/100 x 1 port
    - 1394A Firewire MAC x 3 ports
    - NVIDIA APU with Dolby Digtal Encoder

thats not to say mcp is bad as this proves
The MCP2 is definately hardware sound. As far as the APU goes the only difference between MCP2 and MCP2-T is the T version has Soundstorm(Dolby Digital). Basically Mcp2-T =5.1 digital output capabilities Mcp2 no digital output, analogue output only. The other differences are the T version Has Dual Lan support and a firewire controller which the plain MCP2 does not. Here are my cpu utilization test results from Audio winbench proving that The MCP2 APU is a hardware APU.

  • Difference between SIP200 and SIP400

    Hello.
Is there anyone who can explain what exactly BIG difference between SIP200 and SIP400 ?
They have same four bays, support almost same wan interface cards.
    Please help me : )

    Hi,
    The difference is mainly speed:
The Cisco 7600 series router is an edge aggregation router, and the SIPs provide a cost-effective solution for customers seeking moderate- to high-port density and line rate services:
•The Cisco 7600 SIP-200 provides WAN edge aggregation through lower-speed and low-density SPAs for network environments requiring regional office connectivity to headquarters, or collapsed LAN/WAN deployment.
•The Cisco 7600 SIP-400 provides higher-speed, high-density link aggregation for network environments requiring leased line and metro aggregation.
•The Cisco 7600 SIP-600 provides a high-speed interface for WANs and metro aggregation.
