Difference between Class Pool program and Interface Pool program

Both Class Pool program and an Interface Pool program indicate that the program contains interfaces that other programs can use globally. What exactly is the difference between them?

Transparent Table :
Exists with the same structure both in dictionary as well as in database exactly with the same data and fields.
" Pooled Table :
Pooled tables are logical tables that must be assigned to a table pool when they are defined. Pooled tables are used to store control data. Several pooled tables can be cominied in a table pool. The data of these pooled tables are then sorted in a common table in the database.
" Cluster Table :
Cluster tables are logical tables that must be assigned to a table cluster when they are defined. Cluster tables can be used to strore control data. They can also be used to store temporary data or texts, such as documentation.
" what is the major difference between Standard tables, Pooled tables and
" Clusterd Tables?
A transparent table is a table that stores data directly. You can read these tables directly on the database from outside SAP with for instance an SQL statement.
Transparent table is a one to one relation table i.e. when you create one transparent table then exactly same table will create in data base and if is basically used to store transaction data.
A clustered and a pooled table cannot be read from outside SAP because certain data are clustered and pooled in one field.
One of the possible reasons is for instance that their content can be variable in length and build up. Database manipulations in Abap are limited as well.
But pool and cluster table is a many to one relationship table. This means many pool table store in a database table which is know as table pool.
All the pool table stored table in table pool does not need to have any foreign key relationship but in the case of cluster table it is must. And pool and cluster table is basically use to store application data.
Table pool can contain 10 to 1000 small pool table which has 10 to 100 records. But cluster table can contain very big but few (1 to 10) cluster table.
For pool and cluster table you can create secondary index and you can use select distinct, group for pool and cluster table. You can use native SQL statement for pool and cluster table.
A structure is a table without data. It is only filled by program logic at the moment it is needed starting from tables.
A view is a way of looking at the contents of tables. It only contains the combination of the tables at the basis and the way the data needs to be represented. You actually call directly upon the underlying tables.
. Transparent tables (BKPF, VBAK, VBAP, KNA1, COEP)
Allows secondary indexes (SE11->Display Table->Indexes)
Can be buffered (SE11->Display Table->technical settings) Heavily updated tables should not be buffered.
II. Pool Tables (match codes, look up tables)
Should be accessed via primary key or
Should be buffered (SE11->Display Table->technical settings)
No secondary indexes
Select * is Ok because all columns retrieved anyway
III. Cluster Tables (BSEG,BSEC)
Should be accessed via primary key - very fast retrieval otherwise very slow
No secondary indexes
Select * is Ok because all columns retrieved anyway.
Performing an operation on multiple rows is more efficient than single row operations.
Therefore you still want to select into an internal table.
If many rows are being selected into the internal table,
you might still like to retrieve specific columns to cut down on the memory required.
Statistical SQL functions (SUM, AVG, MIN, MAX, etc) not supported
Can not be buffered
IV. Buffered Tables (includes both Transparent & Pool Tables)
While buffering database tables in program memory (SELECT into internal table) is generally a good idea for performance,
it is not always necessary.
Some tables are already buffered in memory.
These are mostly configuration tables.
If a table is already buffered, then a select statement against it is very fast.
To determine if a table is buffered, choose the 'technical settings' soft button from the data dictionary
display of a table (SE12). Pool tables should all be buffered.

  • What is difference between data base structure and stucure  in program

what is difference between data base structure and stucure  declared in program  level . can  explain cleary if knows

    Hi,
Data base structure is global decalaration you can reffer this structure in any of your developments, when ever you cahange this structure the changes automatically will get updated in all the programs.
coming to structures in program it is local to your program only, if you want to change the structure again you have to open the program and do the necessary changes.
    Reward if useful.
    Thanks,

  • Difference btn Class type 22 and calss type 23

    Hi All,
What is the difference between Class type 22 and Class type 23 in CL01( Create Class)? As far as i know both are for Batch. then what is the difference?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Hari

    Hi,
As rightly said by you, The two CLASS TYPES  22 and 23 are used for the Batch
If  the BATCH LEVEL is activated as the CLIENT  / MATERIAL level then use 23
If the BATCH LEVEL is activated at the PLANT LEVEL then  22 is used.
    Hope it is clear,

  • Difference between conversion program and Interface program

    Hi All,
Can any body tell me what's the exact differenct between conversion program and Interface program? How will we will classify an object whether it is converion or Interface?
    Thanks&Regards
    Mahesh

    hi,
conversion program is your migration- or mapping- program to convert data in the format of the SAP-Interface
    example:
-(customer)conversion program for vendors ZFKMIGR01 creates a file in the format of interface RFBIKR00
    with the foll. structures
    BGR00
    BLFA1
    BLFB1
    BLFBK
    hope that helps

  • Dialog programming and module-pool programming

Can someone tell em the difference between <b>dialog programming and module-pool programming</b> ?

    Hi Vinod ,
Actually Dialog Programming is Module pool Programming.
Please go thru this , see if your dbout gets clear.
    Basic components of dialog program?
    -          Screens (Dynpros)
    -          Each dialog in an SAP system is controlled by dynpros.A dynpros consists of a screen
And its flow logic and controls exactly one dialog step.
    -          ABAP/4 module Pool.
Each dynpro refers to exactly one ABAP/4 dialog program .Such a dialog program is also  called a module pool ,since it consists of interactive modules.

  • Wht is the difference between unicode program and non unicode program ?

    Hi guru,
wht is the difference between unicode program and non unicode program ?
    Regards
    Subash

    About brief idea about unicode
In the past, SAP developers used various codes to encode characters of different alphabets, for example, ASCII, EBCDI, or double-byte code pages.
ASCII (American Standard Code for Information Interchange) encodes each character using 1 byte = 8 bit. This makes it possible to represent a maximum of 28 = 256 characters to which the combinations 00000000, 11111111 are assigned. Common code pages are, for example, ISO88591 for West European or ISO88595 for Cyrillic fonts.
EBCDI (Extended Binary Coded Decimal Interchange) also uses 1 byte to encode each character, which again makes it possible to represent 256 characters. EBCDIC 0697/0500 is an old IBM format that is used on AS/400 machines for West European fonts, for example.
Double-byte code pages require 1 or 2 bytes for each character. This allows you to form 216 = 65536 combinations where usually only 10,000 - 15,000 characters are used. Double-byte code pages are, for example, SJIS for Japanese and BIG5 for traditional Chinese.
Using these character sets, you can account for each language relevant to the SAP System. However, problems occur if you want to merge texts from different incompatible character sets in a central system. Equally, exchanging data between systems with incompatible character sets can result in unprecedented situations.
One solution to this problem is to use a code comprising all characters used on earth. This code is called Unicode (ISO/IEC 10646) and consists of at least 16 bit = 2 bytes, alternatively of 32 bit = 4 bytes per character. Although the conversion effort for the R/3 kernel and applications is considerable, the migration to Unicode provides great benefits in the long run:
The Internet and consequently also mySAP.com are entirely based on Unicode, which thus is a basic requirement for international competitiveness.
Unicode allows all R/3 users to install a central R/3 System that covers all business processes worldwide.
Companies using different distributed systems frequently want to aggregate their worldwide corporate data. Without Unicode, they would be able to do this only to a limited degree.
With Unicode, you can use multiple languages simultaneously at a single frontend computer.
Unicode is required for cross-application data exchange without loss of data due to incompatible character sets. One way to present documents in the World Wide Web (www) is XML, for example.
ABAP programs must be modified wherever an explicit or implicit assumption is made with regard to the internal length of a character. As a result, a new level of abstraction is reached which makes it possible to run one and the same program both in conventional and in Unicode systems. In addition, if new characters are added to the Unicode character set, SAP can decide whether to represent these characters internally using 2 or 4 bytes.
A Unicode-enabled ABAP program (UP) is a program in which all Unicode checks are effective. Such a program returns the same results in a non-Unicode system (NUS) as in a Unicode system (US). In order to perform the relevant syntax checks, you must activate the Unicode flag in the screens of the program and class attributes.
In a US, you can only execute programs for which the Unicode flag is set. In future, the Unicode flag must be set for all SAP programs to enable them to run on a US. If the Unicode flag is set for a program, the syntax is checked and the program executed according to the rules described in this document, regardless of whether the system is a US or an NUS. From now on, the Unicode flag must be set for all new programs and classes that are created.
If the Unicode flag is not set, a program can only be executed in an NUS. The syntactical and semantic changes described below do not apply to such programs. However, you can use all language extensions that have been introduced in the process of the conversion to Unicode.
As a result of the modifications and restrictions associated with the Unicode flag, programs are executed in both Unicode and non-Unicode systems with the same semantics to a large degree. In rare cases, however, differences may occur. Programs that are designed to run on both systems therefore need to be tested on both platforms.

  • What is the fundamental difference between classful and classless routing?

    Hello to all,
After reading several RFCs, guides and HOWTOs I am confused by an apparently trivial question - what is the basic, fundamental difference between classful and classless routing?
I am well aware that - said in a very primitive way - the classful routing does not make use of netmasks and instead uses the address classes while the classless routing utilizes the netmasks and does not evaluate the address classes.
However, already in 1985 the RFC 950 (Internet Standard Subnetting Procedure) stated that the networks can be further subnetted using the network mask. Since then the routers are expected to use network masks in the routing decision process in the precise way they use it nowadays. However, if the routers use network masks they are doing the classless routing, aren't they? Where is then the difference if we used to describe the 80's way of routing as a classful routing? Or was it already the classless routing? The RFCs about CIDR came gradually only in 1992 and 1993.
If somebody could give me an insight into the key difference between classful and classless routing (and perhaps into the Internet history, how was the real routing done then) I would be most grateful.
    Thank you a lot!
    Regards,
    Peter

    Hello Mohammed,
I am afraid we still have not understood each other ;) I am not looking for the algorithms used to select the best path. I am well aware of them, both Ford-Bellman and Dijkstra, and about their internals. By the way, these algorithms do not have any influence whether the routing is classful or classless because they deal with metrics, not with masks. For example, a classless EIGRP internally uses a distance-vector algorithm, not a SPF algorithm.
I will try to explain once more what is my problem... There are two terms commonly used but badly defined: the classless routing and classful routing. Originally, I have thought that the classful routing works as follows:
    - The routing table consists only of classful destination networks (major nets), metrics and respective gateways. No network masks are stored in the table because we are classful, that is, we use exclusively the route classes and all entries in the routing table are already classful.
    - When routing a packet, the router looks at its destination IP address and determines the major net of this IP address (that is, the classful network that this IP address belongs to). Then it looks up the corresponding entry in the routing table and sends the packet to the respective gateway.
I thought that the classful routing works in this way. I won't describe the classless routing - both of us know how do the today's routers select the next hop.
However, in the RFCs 917 and 950 which were published in 1985, long ago before the term 'classless routing' was coined, the network mask was already defined and it was stated how the routers should work with it.
Now I am confused. The terms classless addresses and classless routing were defined sometime in 1990's, therefore I assume that the routing before the invention of classless IP assignment can be in fact described as classful. In other words, I thought that the routing that was commonly used in 1980's did not use netmasks and can be described as classful because the notion of classlessness came first in 1990's. But now I see that netmasks were defined in 1985.
Now where am I wrong? Do I understand the classful routing properly as I described it? Is it correct to talk about routing in that era as classful although the netmasks were already in use? Or was it already the classless routing?
Basically I am trying to understand what was called the classful routing if the classless routing is said to be something different.
Mohammed, I am most grateful to you for your patience and suggestions! Thank you indeed.
    Regards,
    Peter

  • What is the Difference between ?  new Operator and Class.forName() ???

    plz tel me ....
what is the Difference between ? new Operator and Class.forName() ??? ........

Class.forName(), takes the class name as parameter,
and loads that class in memory. But it doesn't create
    any instance of that class.
That means static methods/variables are available for
    use.
new keyword, checks if the class is loaded, if not
then loads that class, and then creates an instance
of that class.Class.forName actually returns the class object for that name (class - for -name). it might load it, if the class hasn't already been loaded, but it's misleading to say that's what that method does
your definition of 'new' is wrong, too. give the dukes back

I want to know difference between class 200 and 300 , are this same?
    Appriciate help.
    Tom

    Thanks for marking thread useful.
Class 300 and 200 are both defined for the materials.class 300 is mainly used for a variant material used for variant configurartion. We can also classify materials under class 200 which do not have to be configurable materials. But allows to use the defined characteristics and restrict the usage for a specific purpose..

  • Difference between ECC 6.0 and earlier versions

    Hi,
one of the difference between ECC 6.0 and earlier versions is that instead 'WS_UPLOAD'  and 'WS_DOWNLOAD' in ECC we should use 'GUI_UPLOAD' and 'GUI_DOWNLOAD'  respectively.
(of course SPDD and SPRO tcodes is known by everone i suppose)
Similarly can u all put down some differences here, atleast one entry by each, I think we can make a good docu. I have searched the net for the differences but could not get much, so by each of us contributing one each, it would become good docu..for all of us.

E13.    Upload/Ws_Upload and Download/Ws_Download are obsolete, since they are not                                                                       Unicode- enabled; use the class cl_gui_frontend_services
Error: Function WS_UPLOAD is obsolete in Unicode environment. (During UCCHECK)
                   Call function 'WS_UPLOAD'

                gui_refuse_filetransfer = 8
                others                  = 9.
Solution: Instead of WS_UPLOAD use TEXT_CONVERT_XLS_TO_SAP. Do not use temporary file put the file name as it is.
    1) First define a type pool and a variable of type truxs_t_text_data.
    TYPE-POOLS: truxs.
    DATA: it_raw TYPE truxs_t_text_data.
         2) Use this it_raw in the function module in parameter i_tab_raw_data. Put file name and the internal table in the function module.
    CALL FUNCTION 'TEXT_CONVERT_XLS_TO_SAP'
        EXPORTING
    *     I_FIELD_SEPERATOR        =
    *      i_line_header            =  ' '
          i_tab_raw_data           =  it_raw       " WORK TABLE
          i_filename               =  zfilename
        TABLES
          i_tab_converted_data     = z_upload[]    "ACTUAL DATA
       EXCEPTIONS
          conversion_failed        = 1
          OTHERS                   = 2.
Comment u201Ci_line headeru201D. It takes the first/ header line of the file which is to be uploaded.
Put  square brackets after internal table as shown above.
E14.    CURSORHOLD may not be converted into a number.
Error:  GET CURSOR LINE CURSORHOLD VALUE CURSOR_HOLD.
Solution: In the declaration part of CURSORHOLD, one field is of u2018Pu2019 type and one field is of u2018Iu2019 type, which is not allowed in Unicode environment. So change the the type of it to NUMC.

  • Difference between work bench request and customizing request

in abap point of view please give me the difference between work bench request and customizing request

    In simple terms -
Work bench Request is used by ABAPer.(Creatation of Programs, TCodes or ABAP Dictionary Objects)
Customizing Request is used by Functional Consultants. (Used to configure the system as per clients Business requirements).
The Change Request is that request when you do some thing new in customizing or configuration in the system. The system will automatically pop with the change request pop box , when you can give request name as defined by the system or can give your own request name with heading of what changes you have made while customization. The system will generate a request number and you save it. (e.g.:- VEDK-2785467) VEDK- means the Clients System name then followed by the system generated request number.
Now when you want to release the request you have to use the T-code SE10 where you can see the requests under the heading modifiable or released. Go to the modifiable option. Each request will have again an internal request number. First you have to release the internal request and then release the external request number. This will in turn released by the basis guys thru the T-code SM64 in a group when all the requests are pooled from different users.
The task which you have mentioned in your question is nothing but the what task you have performed while customizing the client system and the heading name which have given it for that task and generated a request for that task.

Customizing Request:- which will be used when any customization changes are doing.
Example:- In your standard Tcode always you cannot find all the fields or options, if you want to enable/disable some fields, in this case it will be treated as Customizing request, any customization will comes under this.
Work Bench Request:- for new developments like new reports, BDC....etc, then Work Bench Request will be used.

  • Differences between CTI OS Server and CTI Server ?

    Hello community,
I've been working with CTI Desktop for a while but I'm not clear about the differences between CTI OS Server and CTI Server?
If you go to http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Unified_CCE_Software_Compatibility_Matrix_for_8.5(x) and read note 10, they make diffrences between both products.
    Thanks in advance,
    Alejandro

CTI Server was the original CTI interface into ICM.  It uses a network communication protocol, GED-188 I believe, for communication between the client and server.  This is relatively difficult to program against.  CTIOS and it's related SDKs were developed to provide an easier method of developing desktops and integrating desktop applications.  CTI Server communicates with ICM, CTIOS Server communicates with CTI Server, and desktop applications using the various SDKs communicate with CTIOS Server.  Cisco may be looking to get away from CTIOS Server in the future because of their decision to integrate Finesse with CTI Server rather than CTIOS Server.  Hope that helps.

If you dont know then don't replyYou were given a link directly to the answer. The state of my knowledge is therefore (a) irrelevant and (b) not proven by anything in this thread.

You* did, when you posted here.
I know how to get from java language specificationClearly not, or you wouldn't still be posting here.
I need clarification for what is in java lang specification..It seems clear enough to me. What part of "A member class or member interface M declared in another class C has a canonical name if and only if C has a canonical name. In that case, the canonical name of M consists of the canonical name of C, followed by ".", followed by the simple name of M." didn't you understand?

    Hi, Gurus
    this is  sudhakar
i want to no what is the difference between the transaction data and master data  give with examples .
    Thanks
    sudhakar

    Hi,
The most important data classes are master data, transaction data, organizational data and system
    data.
Master data is data that is rarely modified. An example of master data is the data of an address file, for
example the name, address and telephone number.
Transaction data is data that is frequently modified. An example is the material stock of a warehouse,
which can change after each purchase order.
Organizational data is data that is defined during customizing when the system is installed and that is
rarely modified thereafter. The country keys are an example.
System data is data that the R/3 System itself needs. The program sources are an example
