Difference Betwenn SpDataAccess and PShellAdmin

I normally use this script to give users access to run power shell scripts, in 2010 they would get SPShellAdmin and DBO in 2013 they seem to get SpDataAccess and SpShellAdmin, any difference between the two?
Add-PSSnapin Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell;
$username = Read-Host "Enter username";
Get-SPContentDatabase | ForEach-Object {Add-SPShellAdmin -UserName $username -database $_.Id}

Hi,
The SharePoint_Shell_Access role gives you access to the content databases and the configuration database, and permission to execute the stored procedures.
In order to use PowerShell, an administrator must be assigned the SharePoint_Shell_Access role on any databases against which PowerShell will be used. For example, to perform tasks that read or manipulate data in the configuration database, an administrator
must have the SharePoint_Shell_Access role for the configuration database. Likewise, to work with a specific site collection, the admin must have the SharePoint_Shell_Access role for the appropriate content database. More information:
http://sharepointpromag.com/sharepoint/tis-privilege-powershell.
The db_owner fixed database role has the CONTROL DATABASE permission. Members of the db_securityadmin fixed database role can modify role membership and manage permissions.  More information:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms189121(v=sql.105).aspx.
Per my knowledge, except that you mentioned, all application pool identity should have db_owner fixed database role for the associated services database. And the farm account also need to have db_owner role.

Wendy

    bcoz, in my system(ECC 6.0), in WE05, I am seeing some are posted with ORDERS02 and where as some are posted with ORDERS05............both Message type is same-ORDERS.

    Hi,
    ORDERS05
    has probably more fields then ORDERS02
    the one with higher number is newer
    you can find the difference in WE60 by comparing the
    fields
    and because ORDERS05 is the newer one, you will find it not in all R/3 releases!
    So e.g. R/3 3.0 is not working with it possibly!

  • Whant is the difference between role and group?

    in fact. a group means the a special role that have no any assigned functions

    Hi Kang
    The difference betwen Roles and Groups:
    <b>Roles</b>
    Roles are the largest semantic unit within the content objects. A role is a folder hierarchy comprising other content objects (worksets, pages, iViews). The contents of a role are based on the company structure and information requirements of the users of a company. Roles are assigned to users. This means that users can only access the content that is relevant for them if they have the appropriate role.
    <b>Groups</b>
    Groups contain users falling under the same catagory. For example let's say that you have a set of roles, <b>role x</b> and <b>role y</b>. You have to assign <b>role x</b> to users of <b>type a</b> (let these be users who can only view your portal and cannot make changes) and <b>role y</b> to users of <b>type b</b> (let these users be administrators). Then you can add the users of <b>type a</b> to a group and assign the <b>role x</b> to them. Similarly you can add the users of <b>type b</b> to another group and assign the <b>role y</b> to them. This rids you of the task of having to assign the two roles to each user type individually.
    Hope you got the difference now.
    Warm Regards
    Priya

    I didnt think you could just uproot a Windows OS on an almost dead Tower and Transfer it to a virtual window
    That would be Nice though,
    You don't "uproot" Windows. You install Windows using Parallels to create a virtual Windows computer on your Mac. You don't transfer the OS to a virtual window. You transfer any existing data you want to the Windows virtual machine. This can be done by networking your virtual machine to your old computer in the same manner you network any computers in a LAN (wireless, Ethernet, etc.). Or you transfer your data manually (Sneakernet, sd card, flash drive, etc.)
    Perhaps reviewing the info at the Parallels site will help you.

  • Difference Betwen #include statement and Import statement

    What is the Difference between #include and Import statements!

    Why do you need to shout! Are you unware that English has a question mark that is used at the end of a question sentence! Java doesn't have #include! It only has import!
    Import in Java simply tells the compiler that when you say, for example, List, you mean, for example, java.util.List! It does not affect the generated class file in anyway!
    #include in C/C++ causes the body of the reference file to be inserted into the compilation stream! So, unlike Java's import, that file actually gets compiled into the final output!

  • Weird Differences Between 32 and 64 bit Conversions

    Windows Users:
    Ever convert exactly the same raw file using exactly the same parameters into 16 bits/channel images with Photoshop CS6 32 bit and 64 bit, overlay them, set the top layer to "Differences", then add a couple of extreme curves adjustment layers over the top?
    Amazingly, there's a difference between the two conversions.
    Even more amazingly, while there's a slight correllation to the image content, there are patterns in the differences that don't really match much of anything in the image, yet they differ from raw file to raw file.
    Try it some time.  If you can't reproduce it, I'll be happy to share my raw file.
    Here are two small images, the converted raw file, and the enhanced differences between a 32 and 64 bit conversion of that same raw file.
    Enhanced/blurred differences betwen the 32 and 64 bit conversions.

    I happened to be using the 32 bit Photoshop today to access some plug-ins I only can get in 32 bits, converted the same image in both, and just wondered whether there might be differences.  You never know what you'll find until you look!
    Oh, and sorry Mac folks - I know you only have a 64 bit converter to play with.
    I'm reminded of the old adage:  A man with one watch knows what time it is.  A man with two watches is never sure.

    Thanks for your response, Eric.
    I understand what you're saying, but a several bit difference in a 15 bit result is actually quite a lot to be attributed to math inaccuracy due to floating point operations.  Even single precision 32 bit floating point operations should give you 24 bits of precision.  A few bits at the end shouldn't add up to a visible difference, unless decisions are being made in the code based on results (e.g., if noise > threshold, do something).
    Perhaps you don't use the Strict Floating Point Model, because if you did that should give you consistent results.
    I've been through the decision of which floating point model to use in my own software, initially thinking that the Fast model would be better for speed (obviously), but as it turns out the repeatability of results with the Strict model is well worth the tiny bit of extra time it takes for the results to be predictable.  You might want to reconsider using Strict, as I have, especially if these are not just round-off errors but decisions being made in the code based on floating point results.  Looking around on the web, I see more folks than just I have made that specific choice.
    Food for thought.

  • Difference betwwen script and smartforms

    plzzzzzzzzzz  difference between script and smartforms

    SAPscript technology is based on a mainframe product from the 1980s, while Smart Forms have only been around since (roughly) 2001. With that sort of time gap, there are bound to be significant differences between the two tools. Client dependence is a fundamental one. Although SAPscript has had some incremental improvements over time, its forms have always been -- under the hood -- relatively ...
    1. script is client dependent one while smartform is client independent.
    2. In scripts we have to write print program while in smart forms it is not necessary.
    3. In scripts we can print background logo while in smartforms we cant print background logo
    4. In scripts we have 99 main windows while in smartforms we have only 1 main window.
    5. In scripts we should write paragraph format otherwise we cant execute program while in smartforms no need to create paragraph formats .
    6. In scripts we can print the text in only two character formats.
    while in smartforms we can do with more.
    7. In scripts we dont have line types while in smartforms we have linetypes.

    3) smart forms provide multiple page formats where as in script not possible

    12) we can migrate script to smart form vice-versa is not possible.

  • Difference between Null and null?

    What is the difference between null and NULL?
    When is each used?

    There is a null in java, but no NULL. null means no value. However, when assigning value, the following is different:Although the empty String has no special role. Null means, the referential type is not assigned (doesn't refer) to a specific object. The empty String is just another object though, so seeing it or pointing it out as something special when it actually isn't at all (no more special than new Integer(0) or new Object[0]) just adds to the confusion.

  • Difference in Null and Empty String

    Hi,
    I have been wondering about the difference between Null and Empty String in Java. So I wrote a small program like this:
    public class CompareEmptyAndNullString {
         public static void main(String args[]) {
              String sNull = null;
              String sEmpty = "";
              try {
                   if (sNull.equalsIgnoreCase(sEmpty)) {
                        System.out.println("Null and Empty Strings are Equal");
                   } else {
                        System.out.println("Null and Empty Strings are Equal");
              } catch (Exception e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
    This program throws Exception: java.lang.NullPointerException
         at practice.programs.CompareEmptyAndNullString.main(CompareEmptyAndNullString.java:10)
    Now if I change the IF Clause to if (sEmpty.equalsIgnoreCase(sNull)) then the Program outputs this: Null and Empty Strings are Equal
    Can anyone explain why this would happen ?
    Thanks in Advance !!

    Whether you do any of the following code, the JUnit Test always passes: I mean he NOT Sign doesnt make a difference ...
    assert (! "".equals(null));
    assert ("".equals(null));
    You probably have assertions turned off. Note the the assert keyword has nothing to do with JUnit tests.
    I think that older versions of JUnit, before assert was a language keyword (which started in 1.4 or 1.5), had a method called assert. Thus, if you have old-style JUnit tests, they might still compile, but the behavior is completely different from what it was in JUnit, and has nothing to do with JUnit at all.
    If you turn assertions on (-ea flag in the JVM command line, I think), the second one will throw AssertionError.

    I would suggest to always use the GUI_UPLOAD.  I say this because this is the function module which is used in the GUI_UPLOAD method of the class CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES.   Really, you should probably use the class/method instead of the function module.
