@EJBs are 'special' resources. For example, @EJB (for a stateful session bean) results in
1. Creation of the Stateful Session Bean,
2. Other dependencies are injected into this newly created bean,
3. If the bean has a @PostConstruct bean then that method is invoked (after invoking applicable interceptors)

Hi John,,
1) Ejb Object Handle are nothing but a long lived proxy for the
ejb object, using this handle user can disconnect from the Ejb Server/Container
at any time
and after some time using the same handle he can able to resume the conversational
state
with the server / container where he was been disconnected From.
And there are currently two Handles , HomeHandle and Handle for EjbHomeObject
and EjbObject
Respectively. Both these handles have Persistent reference to the EJB Object
2) Ejb Reference is used to lookup a bean from other Enterprise Bean
Ejb reference is a nickname for the JNDI Location that you want to lookup a bean.
your code will looks up a Home object via using this nickname
and the deployer will bind the
nickname to the JNDI location of its choice
EJb Reference are declared in the deployment descriptor

DataSource - difference between ejb-location and location

Hi,
Does anyone know difference between ejb-location and location attribute specified in datasources.xml for an emulated datasource.
There are few connection leakage errors reported in log files though the connection and other database objects have been closed in finally block in all places.
So just wanted to find out whether specifying the same value for location as well as ejb-location is not the root cause of connection leakage errors.

Personally, I think you should make sure that all locations (in your "data-sources.xml" file) should be different -- although I can't tell you why.
According to the documentation, the "ejb-location" uses a connection pool and I exclusively use the "ejb-location".

couldnt clearly understand difference between a Managed Bean and Backing Bean , anybody know the difference?

These are two terms that means the same .... A backing bean is a normal web term, in JSF specifically it is termed as managed bean as this' backing bean' configurations in faces-config.xml are termed within 'managed-bean ' tags.
Cutting the long story short its a bean class . period :)

can any body explain simply what is the difference between stateful and stateless session beans? also in what kind of situations we can use these.

(1) Statfull
(2) Stateless
Stateful means u will persists the state of the object.
USESE:
In a Banking system u can use the statful session just for maintaing the
state.
(2) STATELESS: that's mean u do't want to persists any state of the object. that's mean a single Request is coming ,do the desire and give the output.
EX: A Credit Card System is the Example of Stateless.

Difference between J2SE and J2EE...

Hi all. I was wondering what the difference between J2SE and J2EE were. I mean in the code structure. Are the packages the same, like Swing, IO, things like that. I'm a bit of a beginner in Java, only been messing around with it for about 6 months now kind of in my spare time, and I know I'm in now way ready for J2EE, but it's something I think I'd like to maybe look into. I know it's for Enterprise Applications, much bigger scale than I'm used to, but fundamentally, how is it different? Different coding conventions? New packages not in J2SE? I hope what I want is coming across okay. Thanks for all the input.

J2EE defines a large number of specifications, in addition to J2SE. Examples are the Servlet, JSP, JMS, and EJB specifications. Most of those specifications are designed to have implementations running inside an Application Server. There are free implementations available such as JBoss (combined with for example Tomcat), and I think youre best bet to learn is to download one of those and go from there. Servlets and JSP are a good beginning, and then maybe move on to EJB and the rest.

          I have a test about simplest cluster,admin and managed server all told me "start
          cluster service"!the two IP address use ONE DomainName,If one down,when I send
          request with dn,It first look up admin server,no found and then go dns to search
          another server,about one minute then the server send response to me!
          But when I do not config a cluster,only start two admin server and give them the
          same dns,the same appearance as cluster!

          It is totally different. regarding the last failover example you've given,
          of course the 2 servers can have identical files maintained under
          public_html. DNS will failover requests to "foo.html" to the other one if
          the first server is down, but if you have something saved in a session, say
          shopping cart example, it's totally lost, but with WLS clustering, the
          session is replicated to the other server in the cluster, you may just
          check-out, don't have to order again.
          This is just a simple example of WLS cluster session-replication. WLS
          supports EJB, RMI Objects, JMS (6.0) clustering.. check the doc at

Hi,
the binding is the component association to a managed bean (or backing bean). This allows you to manipulate the component in Java code stored in a managed bean.
The value is what the actual component value is.

I would suggest to always use the GUI_UPLOAD. I say this because this is the function module which is used in the GUI_UPLOAD method of the class CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES.   Really, you should probably use the class/method instead of the function module.
