So I have just had my potentially duff 1Tb hard drive replaced by apple and uploaded my data from time machine only to discover that pages is now speaking to me in a different language. The keyboard has been selected as UK during setup. Any idea how I can get back to qwerty?

What exactly are you referring to? Are the menus or templates for Pages in a different language? Does something strange appear on the screen when you type?
Could you perhaps use the Camera icon here to post a screenshot of what you are seeing?
To make sure you have the right keyboard, go to system preferences/language & text/input sources and make sure that only the box for US or British is checked (and that the box for French or German or anything else is not checked). -
I was messing with my keyboard languages and i put it on a different language then i got distracted then my iphones autolock locked my phone and now when i try to unlock my phone it doesnt have the correct letters that i have in my password so now it wont unlock. If i restore it will unlock or will i just be screwed??

I did put another language in input source, and keyboard shortcut, but when I close this window, after opening the mail window, where do I see different language to click on?
You switch keyboards by going to the " flag" menu at the top right of the screen.

What are you talking about exactly?
OS X comes with a virtual keyboard already. It is called Keyboard Viewer. You activate it by going to system prefs/international/input menu and checking its box (plus the box for Show Input Menu in Finder). At the same time you can check the boxes for the Arabic keyboard layouts.
You can then select the Arabic keyboard layouts and the Keyboard Viewer from the "flag" menu at the top-right of the Finder.

yes, it is a basic feature. I frequently switch from French to English and no problem, it is almost magical.

I'm used to swiftkey keyboard on my android tablet and therefore I'm asking here: on my 925 there's no way to have suggestions in 2 different languages while texting. Any hidden setting or just take it as it is ?

mauroI have an E71. Should be similar in OS to your E63.
To access the accented characters hold down the bottom right key. Should be labeled chr/ctrl (at least on mine)
While that button is held down. press on the letter you want to have the accent on. It should now type with an accented character.. if it is not the right one then just tap the same letter again (again with the chr key held down).

Use different language and Spell check
Hello, just got an iPad to supplement my two Android phones, and like it so far...
Except for one thing that drives me nuts...
The spell check. I live in Scandinavia, but like to use English as my interface language. This causes major problems, when I write something in Danish.
Is there any way to have English as the interface language, but use another language for spell checking?
Also, is there a way to use two different languages in spellcheck? Its really annoying to have English words pop up as suggestions when I write something in a different language and vice versa...From a user perspective this is wrong UX and lacks total support for multi-national companies, especially when the (national) keyboard layout differs from the (foreign) keyboard layout that is being forced to use if one wants the spell check to be performed in the foreign languge.
Let's take the following example. My language settings are set to English because I want my interface in English. The used keyboard layout is Flemish (=Dutch) (AZERTY). When writing emails the spell check is performed in Dutch since iOS uses the keyboard related language. This is fine as long as I write emails to people in Belgium which do read and speak Dutch. However when I want to write English emails (and hence would like English spell check) I am forced to switch my keyboard to English (UK). This is not really OK as switching the keyboard messes up the layout I am used to work with (English -> QWERTY).
Essentially, the selected keyboard (and keyboard layout for that matter) shouldn't have any impact on the used language for the spelling check. To be honest I can't remember of any application/OS used so far that applies this logic.
I really do hope that this gets fixed in some way (e.g. by adding the option to select the spelling check language) in a future update of iOS. -

Does anyone know if the Playbook can change its keyboard to support different languages and characters like what the iphone can do....

I am creating a 'welcome' sign for a client and need to be able to type the word 'welcome' in different languages. I am using illustrator and have tried to change the input sources through the system preferences menu but this is not working. Is there an easy way I can do this ? Any help would be really appreciated.

This is more of a generic question.
While creating a multilingual website which allows for data to be entered in multiple languages, there is an issue if this data in different languages starts to go into fields which have a primary/unique constraint then its integrity will be compromised.
The DB is UTF8 compliant.There are lot of multiligual websites out there that might face similar problems.Whats the workaround for this.
- Create another record for different language entry and link it to primary record which is in English.So lot of multilingual records for one main record.
- Make columns language specific and control it trough front end making constrained columns with same language.Though with this it becomes a user usability issue in that user has to keep switching his keyboard language support.

Change the installed language (or keyboard?) for Flash CS6

I installed the entire CS 6 package, and all the apps show the en_GB localization (as they should). Flash, though, is the only one that has a en_US folder. I don't recall having made a choice to that effect, but is there a way to change this now?
On the surface that's not a big issue, but when I try to customize my keyboard-shortcuts, the system assumes I have a US keyboard (I don't), and there's certain key-combinations that I can't seem to 'type'. Interestingly enough this only applies while I'm defining the keyboard shortcuts – as soon as I close that window, my keyboard (-mapping) is just fine.
I hope I managed to make myself somewhat clear here.
Oh, and btw – I'm not a Creative Cloud user, if that matters in this respect – I'm a Volume-License-holder. Mac OS X 10.8.2, on a MacBook Pro and a MacPro.

HansSpeaking only from the older versions of Flash, you choose the language during the download of Flash (or a Suite) itself. I haven't seen a preference method of changing to a different language. Perhaps your Windows language setting may have an effect, similar to the Strings panel in Flash, where Flash would automatically adapt to the OS language.

Can't import videos (except .mov)
