Digikam - Detected locked database file

Hello!
I have problem with Digikam. Konsole reports this:
digikam(1153)/digikam (core) Digikam::DatabaseCoreBackendPrivate::checkRetrySQLiteLockError: Detected locked database file. There is an active transaction. Waited but giving up now.
Digikam opens normally, I can see my albums, but when I click on one of them, nothing happens. Path to my Pictures is /data/Pictures [on my second hdd]. I tried everything what I could think of, but no success.
My system:
- KDE 5
- Kernel  4.0.4-2-ARCH x86_64
- digikam 4.9.0-2
- kipi-plugins 4.9.0-2
- fully updated
My digikamrc:
[Database Settings]
Database Connectoptions=
Database Hostname=
Database Name=/data/Pictures/
Database Name Thumbnails=/data/Pictures/
Database Password=
Database Port=-1
Database Type=QSQLITE
Database Username=

What is locking the database? Any thoughts?

Hi all
Found it.
It was a MenuCalendarClock upgrade and nothing to do with Leopard per se.
Kind Regards

I applied an incremental backup on standby database to resolve archive log gap and generated a controlfile for standby in primary database and restored the controlfile in standby database. But when i started the MRP process its not starting and thows error in alert log ORA-01157: cannot identify/lock data file. • Oracle.exe keeps locking a file after connection has been closed.

    Hi,
I've written a windows service in .net that monitors a directory for new uploaded files that need to be synchronized with the database. When it detects a new file it moves the file to a another directory from which oracle can reach the file. When the file is moved. I open a connection with the database that performs a select * ... on the external table which reads the file. This all works like a charm and afterwards i dispose of the connection.
Then i try to move the file again to another directory because it has been processed, but then i got an System.IO.IOException because the file is locked by a process. When i check by which process it is oracle.exe and the lock stays untill i terminate my service. When i debug the service i double checked and the connection state is closed before i try to move it again. For some reason oracle.exe locks the file untill i kill the service that opened the connection.
If i need to give more specific information please ask, any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Pieter

Do you see the same behavior is you select * from sqlplus instead of the odp app, but don't disconnect the sqlplus session?
ODP has pooling on by default, so even though you close and dispose the connection, the underlying hard connection stays open.
I dont know if there's a way to unlock the file without disconnecting which may be the ideal solution, but if not you could probably just disable connection pooling (set pooling=false in the connect string) to get around it.
    Hope it helps,
    Greg

  • Accessing the same database file using different handles/cursors

Will there be any problems accessing the same database file using different DB handles in a transactional environment? We have implemented a process which have multiple transient threads coming up and initiating DB opens and read/write operations to the same database file using different handles and cursors?
Can this potentially create any problems/bottlenecks? Can someone suggest the best way to deal with this scenario?
    Thanks in advance.
    SB

    Hi,
Berkeley DB is well suited to the scenario you describe. You need to ensure that Berkeley DB is configured correctly for transactional access, the best information describing the requirements is in the Reference guide here:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17076_02/html/programmer_reference/transapp.html
If there will be multiple threads operating concurrently, then you will need to design your application to detect and deal with deadlock situations.

  • Java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01157: cannot identify/lock data file 7 - see DB

I am deploying my application components on Oracle RAC database, when i install my app component i will run a script which creates a user and tablespace on bot rac-nodes(node1 and node2)
as database is clustered, the user are created on 2 nodes and tablespace is stored in a shared location for two rac nodes
i am able to successfully run my script on rac-node1 and and installed my component and when i started installing the app component on node2 getting error

i a mgetting error while installing the app component on rac-node2

You should not create database files outside of the ASM.
I'm not sure you can move the datafile, I would export the data from the tablespace (if there is data you need there), delete the tablespace and recreate it in the ASM, then import the data back.
If you want to move the datafile, you can try using RMAN (from node1).
First connect to the database with sqlplus and execute:
alter tablespace <tbs_name> offline; Then start RMAN: rman target /
BACKUP AS COPY DATAFILE '<file>' FORMAT '+<ASM_DG>';Then in sqlplus, execute:
alter tablespace <tbs_name> online;I'm not sure it will work, and I hope I got the commands right because I can't check it right now.
    Good luck

  • Unable to open windows database files hosted on Lion Server

I use Mac Mini as a server. With Snow Leopard Server I shared files hosted on Mac Mini and other PC computers on the network could use together Access and Quickbooks files. After upgrading to Lion Server no PC is able to open these database files. E.g. when opening MS Access file hosted on Lion server following error pops up: "too many users acessing the file". However, the Access database can be open from network PC when opening in exclusive (single user) mode. Normal multiuser mode brings error.
Is it possible to solve this Lion sharing issue?

Same problem. Just fired up a new Mini with Lion Server to replace an HP Home Server because we need more than 10 users in our church now. Got all the users set up with group permissions and home directories on the server. Unfortunately I expected Lion Server to work just like Snow Leopard Server and be able to serve up ODBC databases like Access and Quickbooks files.
Anyone heard if Apple has a solution to the "too many users" error message? It appears that Access in particular attempts to open the data file and create a locking file (ldb), but cannot get the file permissions it needs from Lion.
Sorry I have no solution for all yet.

    Samuel

I didn't understand what do you mean with thread...
But I think you found the problem
Initialization files of both ASM instance are: SPFILE='/dev/spfileASM'
that SPFILE is (common for both):
    +ASM2.__oracle_base='/u01/app/oracle'#ORACLE_BASE set from environment
    +ASM2.asm_diskgroups='ONLINELOG','ARCHIVELOG','DATA'
    +ASM1.asm_diskgroups='ONLINELOG','ARCHIVELOG','DATA','STORE'#Manual Mount
    *.asm_diskstring='/dev/asm*'
    *.cluster_database=true
    *.diagnostic_dest='/u01/app/oracle'
    +ASM1.instance_number=1
    +ASM2.instance_number=2
    *.instance_type='asm'
    *.large_pool_size=12M
    +ASM1.local_listener='LISTENER_ASM'
    +AC
    Then I executed another query:
    From ASM1
    SQL> select instance_name from v$instance;
    INSTANCE_NAME
    +ASM1
    SQL> select name, state from v$asm_diskgroup;
    NAME STATE
    ARCHIVELOG MOUNTED
    DATA MOUNTED
    ONLINELOG MOUNTED
    STORE MOUNTED
    SQL>
    From ASM2
    SQL> select instance_name from v$instance;
    INSTANCE_NAME
    +ASM2
    SQL> select name, state from v$asm_diskgroup;
    NAME STATE
    ARCHIVELOG MOUNTED
    DATA MOUNTED
    ONLINELOG MOUNTED
    STORE DISMOUNTED
    SQL>
    Than the question is:
how can I mount the disk group STORE also on ASM2?
I think the problems is into the spfile lines:
    +ASM2.asm_diskgroups='ONLINELOG','ARCHIVELOG','DATA'
    +ASM1.asm_diskgroups='ONLINELOG','ARCHIVELOG','DATA','STORE'
How can I change the +ASM2.asm_diskgroups value?
    Thanks

  • Host an ACT 6.0 database files on Mac OS X Server?

I have a client I am switching over. One of the last things we are dealing with is the ACT 6.0 CRM package. Long term, ACT will be replaced with another application such as DayLite. In the meantime, I need to retire aging server hardware and would like to replace it with a MacMini Server.
ACT 6.0 uses a file share for its database files. I assume it needs support for byte range record locking but I am not certain of this. At moment, the database is hosted on a CentOS 4 box and it works fine.
Will a similar arrangement work if the database is hosted on Mac OS Server OS?

I have read that Peachtree does "oddball things" if the sharepoint is not Full permissions. I have made this adjustment and will be testing this next Monday.

  • ORA-16795: database resource guard detects that database re-creation is req

Hi, I have Data Guard with data broker (Oracle 10.2.0.4) set up with RMAN and RMAN catalog. I was recovering my primary from a corrupted datafile, when automatic failover took place. After I did the recovery, I tried to re-instate my primary, but ran into the followign error:
Error: ORA-16795: database resource guard detects that database re-creation is requiredIn order to recreate the old primary (new standby), can I just delete all of the dbf files on old primary and then follow the steps to create a standby using backups from new primary? What about RMAN catalog? Do I have to unregister anything from there? Do I need to delete the configuration? If anyone has steps on how to RE-CREATE standby, that would be very helpful. Thank you!

I followed the above Metalink note, but when I try to restore standby controlfie I get:

  • ASM diskgroups unmounting, getting ORA-01157: cannot identify/lock data fil

    All,
We've recently purchased a RAMSAN device for better throughput. I created the initial diskgroup with the following syntax:
    CREATE DISKGROUP EMTPRD0X_SSD01 NORMAL REDUNDANCY
    FAILGROUP RS1 DISK '/dev/rdsk_ramsan_primary' NAME ssd_prim
    FAILGROUP RS2 DISK '/dev/rdsk_ramsan_backup' NAME ssd_bkup;
and then created a temporary tablespace on top of that diskgroup:
    create temporary tablespace temp04 tempfile '+EMTPRD0X_SSD01' size 25g, '+EMTPRD0X_SSD01' size 25g, '+EMTPRD0X_SSD01' size 25g, '+EMTPRD0X_SSD01' size 25g, '+EMTPRD0X_SSD01' size 25g;
Everything seemed fine at first and then end users started seeing the following errors in the alert log:
    SUCCESS: diskgroup EMTPRD0X_SSD01 was mounted
    SUCCESS: diskgroup EMTPRD0X_SSD01 was dismounted
    SUCCESS: diskgroup EMTPRD0X_SSD01 was mounted

    ORA-01110: data file 3009: '+EMTPRD0X_SSD01/emtprd0x/tempfile/temp04.256.732210281'
After talking with Oracle support I was told that the only workaround for diskgroups unmounting themselves is to put a control file/redo log/dummy tablespace inside of that diskgroup and continually write/read from it.
    Does that make sense?
They pointed me to note 603204.1 - Why FRA Diskgroup Gets Mounted/Dismounted.
The system is a 3 node Oracle 10.2.0.4 rac running on ASM Solaris x86 64bit.
    Any ideas?

    Regards,
    Mahendra

Wrong forum to post the question, try to post the question in crystal reports community.
Its not possible to edit the database fields while creating the reports, its only used to call the rows of values in it. Can you explain me in detail what are you actually looking for .

  • SQL and database file

    Hello.(sorry for my english)
I have a legacy system , ported to opencobol that uses Berkeley DB. I can successfully open the database files using java both in windows and linux. However i want to create a web front end for the application.
Data is stored using strange cobol structures (most numbers are stored as text or 4 bits per digit) and other fancy stuff.. so custom parsers should be written. (dont rember BDB classes name for that)
I have been reading the documentation of Berkeley DB 12 hours totaly today but couldnt find answers to some questions...
Is it possible to attach the database to dbsql.exe (sqlite) server ?? I tried to do "attach "..pathtofile" as NULL ,but i get multiple databases specified and not supported and other stupid messages....
I think that what i tried propably doesnt make sense as collumns arent specified and nothing is in order this thing to work ..It is a simple Key value database.
So i am a little stucked here.
The only solution i can think is to synchronize with a relational Database. But i dont have triggers or nothing that helps....
Note that i want one way synchronization. The "other way" will have very limited tasks.
It seems to me that checking every x minutes if something changed using a cursor is a demanding task. So i am wondering.. Is there a way to track changes???
    Thank you :)

    Hello,
I am not sure I completely understand your question. If you are asking about importing
and exporting data from a Berkeley DB database into an Oracle DB Table in Berkeley DB
releases prior to 5.*, then this can be done with the Oracle OCI interface. If I am
misunderstanding the question, please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Sandra
