Digital Stamp

I have created a dynamic stamp in Adobe Reader and would now like to show someone the process for creating a stamp from scratch. The problem is that one the stamp was created it's always there under my name. How do I delete this stamp from the menu so that I can create a new one from scratch? I know when I made a digital signature it asked me where I wanted to store that signature. The stamps don't do that so I have no idea where they are to delete them.
Any help you can offer would be great.

This post is not related to Digital Signatures, Your question is more specific to Acrobat\Reader, I would suggest that you post it to the Acrobat and or Reader forum.

  • Is there a script to add to a form in LiveCycle to disable digital stamp editing in Adobe Reader

I work for a state Agency and we want to use digital stamps as our signatures on our internal documents. I have created the form in LiveCycle and I know that in Adobe Reader by default the stamp will use the person's sign on ID for the stamp and then the person adds their name and other information.
However, if the person right clicks the stamp, and edits the Identity and puts in another sign on ID number, such as their supervisor's and stamps the document, there is no way to tell that both of those stamps, with different sign on IDs and names, were created by the same person.
If there is a script I can enter in LiveCycle, that when the form is opened in Adobe Reader, that would lock the Identity field of a stamp created in Adobe Reader from allowing a change to the sign on ID, then that would solve our problem and maybe the problem for other state agencies wanting to follow suit.
The digital signatures are even worse. I made one in my name, my supervisor's name and my dog's name, attached them all to a document, validated all the signatures and they look absolutely authentic. Why would Adobe make digital signatures like that? If we could just find some evidence within the data showing that all the signatures were applied by the same person or on the same computer, then we could use them. But the stamps at least grab that unique sign on number that we use and applies it to the stamp if the user doesn't alter it.
I'm on a time crunch as we hoped to launch this after the first of the year but our attorneys are saying, "uh, uh" until something can be done to prevent fraud. We have over 3,000 people in our agency so EchoSign would be out of the question.
    I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Maybe some sort of "get identity" or something. We just need to be able to prove who put the stamp on the document.

You will not get what you need using stamps, especially if you ever want to use dynamic XFA forms.
The digital signatures that were signed with a self-signed digital ID won't fully validate unless the user chooses to trust the corresponding digital certificate first. You should only trust a digital certificate if you trust its source. The problem is using self-signed IDs will be difficult to use on the scale you're talking about.
Digital signatures are the best approach for your needs. They can provide both nonrepudiation of document origin as well as document integrity. You just have to figure out how to implement a solution you can afford.
You agency can become its own certificate authority and issue certificates to its employees. You'd just have to find a way to implement and manage such a system.

  • Help me make a digital "stamp"

Here is my 1st, but very sad attempt at making my rendition of my digital "stamp"
I am trying to make a digital logo to look like an actual stamp mark.
You know when you use a real stamp and somtimes all of the ink doesnt hit and its blotchy or spotty?
I want the image clear, but blotchy.  Not fuzzy & blotchy which is all of the filters I had really did.
So any help or suggestions on a particualr method, tool or filter?

    Try something like this.
    Open your stamp image
Double click on background layer and click ok to unlock the layer
create a new layer above the background layer
Fill the new layer with 50% grey (shift-backspace)
    Apply the fiber filter
    Scale the image for taste
In the channels panel shift click the rgb thumbnail
    hide the new layer
Make sure your stamp layer is active and you can see the selection
hit delete to remove a portion of the stamp image.
(Optional) (ctrl-z to undo) You can invert the selection if the wrong portion of your stamp image was deleted and try again.
You should end up with an image similar to the attached.
Remember this is just an example, try using images instead of the filters and see what you get.
    Good luck...

  • I want to download digital stamps but would need to change the size to fit my project. Does keynote have the ability to change picture size?

I'm trying to find a app that will allow me to change the size of a digital stamp. I have heard that Adobe Photoshop will allow me to do this but that is outside of my price range right now. Would Keynote allow me to do this?

sorry the website went down for maintenance during my last reply.
Yes Keynote will work OK as a print application for standard image formats;  TIFF, JPEG, PNG, PICT
Drag and drop as many graphics as you want on to a page.
Disply the ruler;   view menu > ruler
Go into  Keynote menu > Preferences   and set the Ruler to inches or centimeters
you can then drag a guide line out from the ruler to help size the graphic to the measurement you want
ruler set to inches to measure a 5" x 3" box

  • Creating a digital stamp

    Hi,
I am trying to create the stamp for our company, but I am not sure where to start and what to search for to get help in creating it. This would be very efficient for our office.
I am looking to create a stamp/form, don't know what its called in Adobe that looks like the one in this file for HnGs engineering but with our Company information.
Can someone help me and tell me where I can start? What is the stamp or form called for Adobe so I can search for help?
    Thank you so much

In Acrobat XI in the right-hand panel click on Comments, expand "Annotations" (if it is not yet expanded) and select the stamp tool. Click on small rectangle to the left of the Stamp tool and you'll get a drop-down list where you can select "Show Stamps Palette" where you can then select different pre-defined stamps for different uses (clicking on the field left to the "Import" button lets you choose the usage). In the first drop-down list you can also select "Create New Stamp". You will need an image (JPG, PNG, PDF) which you would like to put in your new stamp.

  • What are the forensic limitations of Metadata & Exif Data+ Adobe Photoshop 3 question; e.g. Metadata

    I have some questions regarding metadata, and exif data on digital   cameras and its forensic limitations in Adobe photoshop 3;
For  instance; After a picture is taken and has a metadata/exif digital   stamp of the "picture being taken day" under what circumstances can  that  "picture being taken day" be changed?
Does the picture  being taken day change when you import it into adobe  photoshop 3 and  add a caption?
Does it change only when the picture is edited,  to perhaps add a white  sidebar that says "family photo" or whatever?
Under what circumstances does the exif/metadata digital time stamp  of  the "picture being taken day" change?
Also, is it possible  to change the picture being taken day on a  photograph in adobe  photoshop 3 manually?
    Thanks-
    Phil

I guess it would be easier to give you an example. The above picture shows the exif data as 9.11.2001. How is this possible if this is a 911 victim? In the top metadata, it says Adobe photoshop 3. I assume this is the program it was last edited in? Or was adobe software used exclusively in cameras back then perhaps? I am not sure, I just know I have many questions I really want answers to. Was the exif data changed perhaps in the above photo on 9.11.2001 to add that white sidebar, which says (Family photo) ?? Click the image below to see the screenshot of what I am looking at, this way we are on the same page or picture so to  speak.
Any help you can give will be greatly appreciatted...
    Thanks,
    Phil

  • I am losing resolution when I resize or rotate a line I have drawn.

Can anyone help me?  I have been using photoshop to turn my drawings into digital stamps for crafting.  I always import my image, then with the pen tool I re-draw it in photoshop.  Usually I can take say my eye I had drawn and resize it or rotate it and it's perfect.  Lately I try any of that ant the lines will get very pixelated or lose resolution making them super fuzzy and ugly.  Does anyone know why this is now happening?
I used to be able to duplicate it and flip it to have two perfect eyes, but again when I do that now same thing happens, it gets horribly pixelated.
    I have attached two examples...
Any helps is very much appreciated.  I am having the worst time trying to figure out why it's doing this all of the sudden. It has never done that before.  I have always been able to duplicate, rotate, and resize without it losing resolution or had the lines so fuzzy or pixelated.
    Thank you,
    Betty

    Hi again,
Did you mean screen shots of my settings?  Maybe that would help?
These are all my settings, and each time I draw a line and flip it or rotate it, it starts to lose resolution.  It is also now doing it when I take the finished file and place it into a "guide" file for making a watermark catalog image. Once I shrink the photo it looses resolution really badly.

  • How to sign and enable rights

I know there have been some discussions about Reader Extensions and the like, so please forgive me.  I'm new to all of this and I just don't understand.
Is there a very simple, plain English guide on signing and enabling rights?  My agency has finally informed me that we don't have Reader Extensions, and likely won't be getting it at any point in the near future.  In order to enable user rights for people that only have Reader, is it pointless now for me to design forms in LiveCycle?  Filling in forms seems to work out OK with Reader, but there are some things I can't restrict (markup, comments, etc).  And there are some things I can't enable (adding attachments, for example).
As really the only guy working here that seems interested in Adobe products (IT didn't even know Reader has the ability to add attachments to a document), what are my options for restricting/enabling usage rights for forms created in LiveCycle, but without the aid of Reader Extensions?  Can some/all of these rights be controlled via Acrobat X Pro? In other words, can I create a form in LiveCycle, and manage the rights enabling/restricting in Acrobat X Pro?  I would imagine that would require a digital signature or certificate. I went over to Verisign and got lost.  If I can do such things with a digital certificate, where and how would I go about obtaining one?
Sorry, again, for such basics.  Most of the literature and discussions seem to aim at those more familiar with the products and services.

I'm sure that others on the forum would have a better answer for you but I'm going to take a stab at this.
Once you create the form in LiveCycle, open it in Adobe Acrobat Pro. Once open, select File/Save as and from the fly out menu select "Reader Extended PDF" and from that flyout menu, select "Enable Additional Features". Then it will ask you to save it again.
Once you do this, the form can be filled in with the regular Adobe Reader, the form can be saved, and the form can be used for Markup tools, such as sticky notes, redaction, digital stamps with the users' name and date, and digital signatures.
When the person selects to sign the document in the "Extended" section of Adobe Reader X, they will create a self signed signature certificate. Each signature generates it's own serial number. Unfortunately, Adobe doesn't restrict the creation of digital signatures so you can make one in your name, your dog's name, etc and yet all the signatures will validate and look absolutely legitimate.
And unfortunately, the same is true of digital stamps. All you have to do is right click the stamp and you can change the sign on id and forge another's stamp.
I hope this helped for what you are trying to do. Good luck.

  • Flattening a larger format (17x11) document

I have a 17.00x11.00 inch document that and I put a digital stamp on and then also have someone sign over the stamp using their tablet on the right side of the document. When I use the built in preflight to flatten the document the stamp and signature elements become very small and either move way off to the left or way down in the right corner. 8.5x11 documents work just fine keeping all the elements exactly where they were using the same exact preflight. Any one have any ideas as to what might be causing this issue? I have installed the Selective Flattener JavaScript (http://www.uvsar.com/projects/acrobat/flattener/) and it works fine on the 17x11 documents but that requires us to open every file and then flatten where as the Preflight Droplet lets us to it in much larger batches.

Just thought that a much better way of phrasing what I initially asked would be: Is there is a way to synchronize bookmarks across all documents in a book?
    Thanks

  • Digital Signature and Time Stamp Settings

Would someone please tell me the location in which the Digital Signature and Time Stamp Settings from Adobe STD 10 are saved?

They are saved in the registry on Windows and in the plist on Mac. In Windows you would go into HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\10.0\Security\ and look around there. On the Mac it in /Users/<user name>/Library/Preferences and then look for com.adobe.Acrobat.plist
