Dim Display feature not working properly

When I first got my 8330 a few days ago, the display dimming feature worked just fine. Now, with Backlight Brightness set to 100 and Backlight Timeout set to 30 seconds, when I toggle "Automatically Dim Backlight" to ON, the display dims as soon as I save the configuration. It stays dimmed continuously from that point on. To get back to normal I have to toggle the "Automatically Dim Backlight" to OFF, but then it just stays on full brightness for the 30 seconds.

Cool, thanks for the tip. I never thought of that. Ithink that should work, I'll let you know if theres anyproblems. Along a similar line of thought why is it that when I insert aUDA using a load rule, and the option for 'Allow UDA Changes' ischecked in dDimension Build Settings, why does it not overwrite theprevious UDA, instead it creates duplicates, or three or fourcopies of the UDA I'm trying to load. However if I uncheck"Allow UDA Changes" and have "Allow PropertyChanges" it will overwrite the UDA? Is that a known bugin the system?

Auto dimming display/kb not working

I need some help tracking down where this setting is stored. Here is the situation...
I have 2 user accounts on a 2.4 Penryn MBP. When the computer is 1st booted the kb backlight is on and the display is dimmed to the same level regardless of the ambient light levels. When I log into MY account on this machine the levels remain and the light sensors are completely non-responsive even if I cover the speaker grills completely. I have both auto dimming check boxes selected in the display and keyboard system prefs.
Now, if I log into my wife's account on the same machine, everything works just as it did before. Auto-dimming of both the kb and display back to normal.
I have tried resetting the SMC, PRAM, trashing all prefs in my user folder, trashing prefs in the root library folder.
Where are these settings stored? Any ideas on how to reset them?

I really would like to know too where are stored the enable/disable auto-dimming display preferences.
This setting is not scriptable, not programmaticaly accessible (Obj-C), not even stored in any .plist, because I have logged filesystem events and nothing is written to the disk when this setting is changed.
It is really annoying ! I would like to access this setting by applescript for exemple. The only way to change it is by opening the System Preferences, then de Displays panel, then using the checkbox.
Does someone have any clue on this?

SSAS Display Folders not working properly after using Translations

I have a Cube with many fact tables and each having many measures.So for user convience i have created display folder for measures inside measure groups and everything was working fine.
But now i have created Translation (English(United States)) for measures,Calculated member and Dimensions and Processed.I observed that the display folders are working for calculated measures but weirdly the other measures display folder property is not
getting applied.
Please let me know if anybody came cross this and fixed.

According to your description, your display folders in not working after using translation. Right?
In Analysis Services, this is a known bug. However, we have workaround for this issue.
Solution:
1. Locate your cube in Solution Explorer
2. Right click on it and choose 'View code'
3. Find the corresponding <Translation> tag - look for the Foreign name of your Calculated member
4. Below the <Caption> tag place a line with <DisplayFolder> tag. The properties within Translation tag should look like:
 <Language>1001</Language>
 <Caption>Foreign name of Calculated member</Caption>
 <DisplayFolder>Foreign name for the display folder</DisplayFolder>
5. Repeat for all your calculated members.

Ipod feature not working properly.

The Ipod feature on the 3GS phone stops playing during a song change but is still showing continuous play. Anybody seen this..have a solution?

did you already try to connect in recovery mode? http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
If this does not work, try to delete the ipod software file located in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates to make iTunes download a new copy when you connect in recovery mode. Maybe the file stored on your PC is damaged.

New 'resume' feature not working properly

Hi All!
As there does not seem to be a manual for Lion, I am hoping someone can answer the following questions for me:
I have assigned various applications to different desktops (spaces). Unfortunately, after a system restart, these are not restored to their assigned desktops, but all open in desktop 1. I think the 'resume' idea is great, but this kind of spoils it for me. Am I just doing something wrong?
Also, Lion does not remember whether an application was closed or open. It will just open any 'active' application to a full window, which is also kind of annoying. So, yes, resume is an interesting feature, but unless Lion remembers the exact state the app was in before restart, it is completely useless.
I am hoping that I am just missing something like a setting or such, and that one of you has already found out how to change it.

I don't have one, so I'm not certain what to look for, but MOST of the User stuff is kept in...
/Users/nnnn/Library/Preferences/
One interesting one that I find is..
Users/nnnn/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.keyboardtype.0003930b0244.plist
Likely the numbers before .plist will be different on yours, try dragging that, (those), file(s) to the desktop, (we can drag them back later if need be).
Then log out and back in, might have to you Keyboard setup or the Control Panel to setup the KB again.

"Edit templates" feature not working properly for web apps in Dreamweaver CS6?

This is along with the web apps tag list not appearing in the Data tab of the Business Catalyst side palette.
However, it works fine with the existing announcement module.
Is this feature unavailable for use with web apps, or am I doing something wrong?

We have a bug that prevents correct web app matching if the web app name contains ' ' (space), + (plus), '(', ')', '[', ']' .
In order to work around the bug please remove space, plus or parentheses from the webapp name.

Find feature not working properly in FCP 7?

Logged a bunch of clips in FCP7 for an interview-based project with letter-grades based on quality/usability of response.
For example, "talks about effectiveness of campaign and results. a"
The "a" at the end to represent that the clip is good and will be used in the final project. The problem is that when we use the "find all" feature within final cut, sorting by "log note" and "ends with" - it will not generate any results. Any pointers as to how we can implement a grade-based logging system that works with the find feature? or better yet, how to ensure "ends with" will pull the all clips graded with a certain letter?

ITunes 'Up Next'-feature not working properly

With the new iTunes 11 update, I started using 'Up next' regularly. It's a nice feature, I think, as it allows me to quickly make 'on the fly' playlists (mostly full albums).
To me, the subtle difference between 'play next' and 'add to up next' is also very likeable.
It appears to me the feature has some minor flaw or is still bugged in this new iTunes version.
My problem is as follows:
Whilst playing songs from album X, I want to add another album Y to the 'on the fly' playlist by clicking 'Add to up next'. Album Y would sometimes be added in a 'play next' manner, on top the current play queue.
The rest of album X would then be played AFTER album Y (album Y being visible in up next as 'Back to: ...' )
This is the exact same effect as the 'play next' option has!!!
I need the second album to be added AFTER album X, as the up next feature normally does.
Curiously, this does not happen everytime. Sometimes 'adding to up next' seems to work just fine, adding songs at the end of the queue. And I also haven't found the source of this flaw (eg. where I would add the songs from: in album view, in artist view, from search results,...) as it occured in all of the mentioned situations.
Anyone who can help me with this? Is it something I'm doing wrong or is it indeed a bug in iTunes?

I think the issue has to do with how the rest of the list is constructued. I noticed that when I am playing on shuffle from a playlist, and add specific songs, they are added at the start. However, when after that, I add more songs, they are added after the previous songs, but before the "shuffle" resumes. This at least is how it has been for me consistently.
An issue I have with Up next, which may be related, is that when I add a song which I don't want to hear next, I will drag it and drop it somewhere in the list of songs that itunes picked randomly out of my list, it disappears. Surely, when I drop it, it will be there, it will stay there when I close the list and check again, however, when the current song is finished and the next one starts, this song is completely gone again. Very weird...
One of the posts in this topic set me on the path to the solution, which is not dragging my added songs down, but move the shuffled songs up. Then everything seems to be working fine, strange enough. So, when I want to hear two songs soon, but not directly after eacht other (say I want 8 songs in between, for example because they are by the same singer and I want it to sound like it is random), I need to add those two songs. And then instead of moving the second song downwards, I need to move 8 songs upwards....

My Kid dropped the iPad and the display is not working properly now.

My kid dropped the ipad from about 3 ft and now the display is damaged, It is visible though but I can see rainbow colours and not the true ones.

help.... i know very little about computer and need to know what, how and where i can get a solution to this problem. It occurs more and more frequently now, it messes up the display and i have to restart only for it to happen again. i tried to down load bios 1.90 and will hope it works like some similar ports have said but what else can i do? any help from anyone would be so great

Notes feature not working properly

Sinec I've had this iPod, the notes feature on it has been a little wonky. When there are no notes, the Instructions file appears and is read fine. When I start putting small plain text files into the iPod's notes folder, the notes feature would read "no notes". I would have to keep hard resetting to get the notes to appear.
I took it to a Genius Bar and we tried loading the Mac version of the latest iPod nano 3G update and the notes appeared every single time we reset the iPod. I go home and reload the Windows version and boom, the problem appears again. This leads me to believe there's a glitch with Notes in the Windows version of the software.
Any ideas?

Droid's "Direct Dial Feature" not working properly....

When I try to add a direct dial to my phone's home screen or on the dock (I use Launcher Pro Plus), it brings up a list of contacts, but it doesn't show all my contacts. For example, I can add my phone's voicemail, my house, parents' house, wife's cell, etc. But it doesn't show my father's cell phone # (they are all in my contacts list).
Anyone else have this problem/solutions?

the fact that it doesn't work on your system might have something to do with the settings you chose when you installed itunes - when you click the link it is supposed to open itunes, but if itunes can't be located i believe a browser page / window should appear telling you itunes could not be found with an option to launch the application manually.

IPad display suddenly not working properly.

iPad 1 is about 6 months old. All of a sudden, display is displaying colors incorrectly.
Everything is inverted or monochrome or something.
I have restarted and restored, to no avail. I have also verified the most current iPad and iTunes Software.
Any ideas short of shipping to Apple?

Display has white and grey lines and blocks crisscrossing it and touch functions are not working properly on half the screen.

I dropped my iPhone 5S and it landed flat on it's face (it was in a protective case). Since then my touch screen display is not working properly. I have white and grey lines and/or blocks crisscrossing the screen both horizontally and vertically. Screen responds to touch in odd random ways, but rarely does what I am trying to do. Can't call or receive calls because can't dial or answer phone via swipe. Can't text or read incoming texts. All functions seem to be working except that I can't access them because the touch screen is acting up. If I move the phone around it randomly accesses different apps or functions, but I have no control over them once the appear on the screen. Touching screen just causes phone to randomly choose something else to open. What have I damaged?
