DirectAccess Problem on Windows 8.1, working on Windows 7

We are currently migrating to new Windows 8.1 clients, but we are having problems getting DirectAccess running.
The same configuration works fine for Windows 7 clients, but the Windows 8.1 seem stuck with a status of "connecting".
The troubleshooting tool indicates that there is a DNS problem. Pinging the IP v6 address of the DNS server is fine, however it does not resolve any entry. (The same works fine on the Windows 7 machines).

Run commend
netsh int httpstunnel show int, what we get?
Check event log, is there any errors?

  • Problem getting CF8 administrator to work on windows 2008 server

    When I create a file helloworld.cfm in root folder and browse to http://localhost/helloworld.cfm, it renders cfoutput fine <cfoutput>#now()#</cfoutput> shows the correct date and time.
    But, when I go to the CF Administrator and enter the password for the initial setup, I keep getting the following error. Anyone have any idea how to fix it? I have checked permission everything seems fine.
    If there is no solution, then I am thinking of upgrading to CF 10. If I buy and upgrade from CF8 to CF10, can I do a fresh install on a new 2008 server, or do i need to have CF8 installed correctly first?

    For CF 10 :
    The installer of CF 10 is indepedent of CF 8.
    If you want to keep both CF 8 and CF 10 on the same server, then yes it is possible.
    If you just want CF 10, then you can uninstall CF 8 and install CF 10.
    However if you want to keep CF 10 only and migrate all CF 8 settings to CF 10 then make sure that when you install CF 10, the service of CF 8 should be running. At the end of CF 10 install, you will be asked : Do you want to migrate all the CF 8 settings to CF 10? Say yes and all CF 8 settings should be migrated to CF 10

          I am Prasad, I want one clarification on Win7 64 bit inside we are running Windows XP in virtual mode. I am facing the problem in COM interface DLL which will do remote access to server & Core banking , Client & core banking.
    Now the client (vendor)  running the application in  Win7 64 bit of Windows XP application by making XP environment virtually in Win 7 64 bit OS.
    Here entire application is working fine apart from COM interface DLL (Even though we are exporting as .msi package and we are installing in Virtual Xp machine tried with both versions of 1.0 and 1.5)
    Can anyone please let me know is there any possibility to overcome this situation without upgrade the entire product to Win 7 for time being?

    Based on my knowledge, a 32 bits components can run on a 32 bit virtual machine. Do you get any error message?

  • Firefox has stopped working in Windows 7 but works in Windows safe mode

    I am sending this from a different computer on which Firefox works fine. My problem is on a Windows 7 PC -- in the past few days Firefox has stopped working in normal mode but works ok in Windows safe mode. I keep getting a Windows error message that it has stopped working and I will be notified if there is a solution. Of course, I am never notified. I have tried resetting Firefox when in Windows safe mode, as well as uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox, after having deleted all the program folders and appdate. I've exhausted every possible fix I could find in the Mozilla support forums but I still can's solve the problem. Can you help please?

    I suggest you reset Windows Update components to check the result.

  • Start, Charms and Windows Key stopped working in Windows 8.1

    I have read these forums about getting the Start button and Charms back by hitting Win-C.  But that doesn't even work on mine. This started just Feb 2 when I downloaded the Windows updates sent out that day for Microsoft .NET4.5.2.  I have uninstalled
    that update.  At least that stopped the error message I was getting about Microsoft .NET Framework unhandled exception.  But my start, charms, and windows key on my keyboard remain unusable.  Any help?

    What is your current situation?
    Have you tried to restart Windows Explorer through task manager?
    If the above is still not going to work. Run the following command:
    SFC /ScanNow;
    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth;
    Also check if you have any hardware driver update recently. Check at the manufactuer side and see if they could offer any helpful information.
    Further, could you please have a share wit hthe update KB number, I will perform a test with that update.

  • Windows CFM files work correctly; but not on LINUX install

    I created a CFM web app on a Windows Developer Server Edition. Last night, we moved them to a hosted location company which is using CF8 on LINUX (full license). For the most part, alot of the functions work, but these are completely missing in the installation:
    - CFWINDOW ability - does not give an error, but the CFWINDOW or windows.create functions work on Windows - same CFM and they do not work on LINUX.
    - FCK Editor does not work
    - Various other databind/AJAX components which I feel maybe related to the CFWINDOW issue.
    Anyone with any ideas which I can share with the hosting company?

    This may be related to the difference in installation path. Check the path differences in windows and linux by outputing those values.

    I can't open my Itunes program in my laptop computer with windows 8. the message is "Itunes has stopped working. A problem causess the program to stop working properly. windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available". I reboot  the machine, Uninstall and re install the  Itune program, stilll the same message pops up.

    The first thing to try is System Restore to take you back to a point in time when it did work. If that is not successful, create a new user on the computer. log in with that and see if ID will start. This will tell us if the problem is in the system/program or the user account.
    If it works in a new user account, see Replace Your Preferences and in addition to replacing the prefs, empty the InDesign Recovery folder that will be in the same location and the InDesign SavedData file.

    I had this exact same problem.  I found this fix and it worked for me. 
    Step 1:
    Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support and copy the filen named QTMovieWin.dll. 
    Step 2:
    Browse and past that file into C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes.
    Hope this helps you.  I wish I could remember where I saw this originally so I could thank them.

    There is probably a red light on inside your headphone port, indicating that the analog/digital switch in there is stuck in the digital position. Insert a headphone plug and wigle it around, especially in the horizontal plane, as you insert and remove it several times. This will usually unstick the switch and restore normal operation. If it doesn't, the machine will need to be repaired.
    This has been a fairly common problem, but in most cases it is easily cured as described above.

    Music plays fine so i know that something works on itunes.

    What does the detailed crash report say?
    And have you updated your video card drivers from the GPU maker's website? (most crashes on launch are due to bugs in out of date video card drivers)
