Director IOS developing out of time soon

Apple announced that, starting on 1. Mai, they will only accept IOS Apps supporting all native resolutions of IOS devices.
So apps must support Retina on iPads and also native iPhone 5 resolution.
Director does not!!
Hurry up, if you are developing IOS Apps with Director.
Or wait for the next update, the typical masochistic hobby of Director developers.
Wolf

An APP will run at 1024 x 768 and this is the size that you should publish at.   The only difference comes when you are publishing between iPhone 4 & 5  and by scaling the size of your APP on load it should fix the problem.
If you read between the lines all Apple are saying is that when you publish for iOS make sure you are compaitble across the board with the device you are targeting e.g.  iPad 1/2/3/4  = 1024 x 768   and iPhone 3/4/5  320 x 480 (+176).
Table 1-1 lists the screen dimensions (measured in points) for different types of iOS-based devices in a portrait orientation. The width dimension is listed first, followed by the height dimension of the screen. As long as you design your interface to these screen sizes, your views will display correctly on the corresponding type of device.

  • IOS Developer - "We'll be back soon"

    Dear Team,
I am looking a way to join to developer program, but I cannot reach some web resources that return me error message "We'll be back soon". As I understand - the limit of logged users is reached and I should wait. How long it takes? Could you please clarify the situation?
    Thank you,
    Karim

To add to my earlier comment:
In the 3 years I have been enrolled in the paid iOS developer program, this is the first time that it has been down for any extended period.
So, while the timing is terrible for those new to the program, put things in perspective.

  • Right time for registering as iOS Developer

    Hi all
I have recently decided to learn about iOS programming, and got them all prepared.
    1. I got an Intel Based Mac running LION 10.7.3
    2. I have downloaded the latest Xcode (4.3)
    3. I have got a couple of books on Objective C programming and iPhone Open Application development, and reading them up.
4, I have been reading online documents and watching video tutorials.
I have worked a few years as a VB programmer about 10 years ago, then I have been doing other stuff, so my programming skill is rusty. However, when I read the books and tutorials on internet, I was able to understand and follow them reasonably OK.
Now my question is when would it be  the right time to register with Apple as an iOS Developer? Is it better to do it as soon as possible, or is it OK to do it later when I am ready to produce a few apps?
Would it better to stick to Apple's online documents and tutorials rather than bother buying the books from Amazon? Would buying books on these topics be waste as they get outdated fast, and tend to be quite expensive?
    Thanks in advance.

Right time is as early in the process as possible. Doing so will allow you access to a far greater range of resources that are current.
    Books on Obj-C.,..fine.
iOS books....outdated and crammed with beta code - don't waste your money, Stick with the resources you pay for with a dev account.
    As well...

  • Looking for someone with ios developer account who can compile and test my app on ios 8

    Hi,
    my ios developer account expired.
Before I renew it i want to be sure that my app will still run on ios 8
It's a flex app , downloadable  on google code : Source Checkout - helpdiabetes-air - HelpDiabetes written for Adobe AIR - Google Project Hosting
So i'm looking for some one with flash builder installed, with the latest flex sdk (4.13) , an ios developer account and a device with ios 8, who wants to build and install the app for me.
    See if it runs.
    thanks,
    Johan

I have to say this is the hardest thing to diagnose that I have come up against over the past 10 years! Completely out of ideas.
If this was just the Intuos3 with the mouse on my G5 then I would just say it is a bad mouse switch, but when a different mouse on two different tablets (Intuos 2 and Intuos3) are both exhibiting the same behavior on two different computers (a G4 Laptop and a G5 Tower) - then something is wrong.
The only other thing I have done to both computers recently is I installed Adobe CS3. Have any of you that have responded also installed CS3?
This is not a Wacom Driver issue, because if you plug in a tablet without the Wacom Driver installed, the mouse should still work like a standard mouse and I am having trouble even then. Even during a restart of the computer as soon as the Wacom tablet blue light comes on - even before the desktop appears, if I hold down the mouse button the tablet will irratically flicker between blue (receiving power from USB) to green (mouse button engaged)? (Again it does not do this with the Pen - it always works fine - just any Wacom mouse).
If it were a USB power issue the tablet light would go off and on, but it doesn't - one of the LEDs is always lit. If it were a tablet grid issue, the Pen would also display the same symptoms - it doesn't. It acts like the mouse does not have enough "consistent power" output to keep the grid engaged when activated which would be easily explained by a bad mouse switch or for sure if the mouse had a bad battery, but I don't think the mouse has a battery does it? And none of this explains why I am getting this on two tablets with two mice (unless the mouse actually does have a battery and both are bad)?
Anyway I am 95% sure this is a communication problem between the mouse and the tablet - not the tablet and the computer and Driver is not in the equation.
    Really stumped.

  • My company's iOS Developer Program membership expired on Friday.   We renewed that day.   But our app cannot now be downloaded.   Do we need to resubmit?

If my company's iOS Developer Program membership expired and was renewed on Friday (Nov 1st), do we need to resubmit to Apple.   My customers now cannot download our app.

You may have waited too long....your apps should resurface once everything is completed on the backend. Could be soon or could be as long as a week, I think. Longer if you are outside the US.
Next time, renew 2 ~ 4 weeks ahead of expiration

  • Renew iOS developer membership

I got a message for renewing my iOS developer membership.
But every time I select iOS membership, it always auto attach the Mac developer membership.
I don't wanna buy Mac developer membership.
Could anyone help me to figure this out?
    Thanks a lot!

I mean for the first enrollment I use my company account to enroll but I pay for membership by my cradit card so receipt specify my name not my company name. Now I want to renew by change specify in receipt to my company name only. Can I do that? and How to do?
    Thank you for you answer.

  • Support unable to find IOS Developer Order!

Does anyone have any suggestions here?
Placed an order a week ago for IOS Developer.
No activation code received so on Monday called support - they could'nt find my order so escalated to billing and told me to call back after 24 hours.
Next deay the order status in apple store changed to Delivered, when I called back, there was no update and they were unable to provide any explantion for the status change.
Now another day later - still no update, still no activation code
The level of support is pretty pathetic, so if anyone has any ideas.
    Thanks

    Hello K T,
Thanks for your reply. I bought Xcode 4 from MAS, but when I try to download, it stops at 262 MB and throws and exception NSInternalInconsistencyException . First I thought it is an issue with my internet connection, so I retried and got the same exception. I tried more than five times and got the same result. I uninstalled xCode 3.2.6 and tried again and got same results. My OS is the latest, I have enough diskspace and pretty good internet connection. I have no clue why this is happening. Kindly help me to solve this. Thank you.

  • Beginner iOS developer...questions on the universal UI

I'm a first time iOS developer and working on completing a universal puzzle app that supports iOS 6 and above. On the UI front the main UI has 4 buttons (using a custom UI round button class from cocoacontrols.com) and a About button (at the bottom) that you see in a utlity app (Stocks app). The About button is bigger and I have shaded with blue color. Also, on the iPad, I have increased the size of all the buttons slighty bigger than the iPhone version taking into consideration the bigger screen size of the iPad. Is this OK?. I read in some other forums that I should not increase the size of the buttons relative to the screen size but I have seen a few game apps that show bigger buttons on the iPad than on the iPhone and having the same iPhone button sizes on the iPad makes the screen look smaller with smaller buttons.
My other question is on the main UI, one of the button is a Settings button and when the user clicks, I show a screen with 3 settings inside 3 UITableViewCells. On the iPad, do I have to use a UIPopover controller?. Currently, I'm not using it as the Settings screen is displayed upon clicking the Settings button on the main UI. Also, the iPad version shows the table cells slightly bigger to avoid empty space.
I have included 2 screenshots that relate to the questions I'm asking here.
    Please advise.
    Thanks.

If you use big button in iphone maybe Apple can reject your app in app store because all apps must have good presentation, good aesthetic and proportional font and buttons.
You could develop differents views from each device iphone and ipad

  • How can I sign up with Enterprise program, while I have an active membership of the iOS developer program?

How can I sign up with Enterprise program, while I have an active membership of the iOS developer program?
I have bought a memership for the iOS Developer program.
I have created an in-house app.
Now I want to publish it to all employees without registering the devices.
    So..
I go to their website and try to sign up for the enterprise program, image shown below:
    http://s29.postimg.org/q06ylh5o6/Clipboard01.jpg
Within the image above, I click continue...
    http://s14.postimg.org/46lqcpy74/Clipboard02.jpg
Then I am taken to the image above, there I need to select a program, but I already have a program, the iOS developer program!  And the checkbutton of that program, is disabled. If I try to click continue at this page, without sleecting a program, a javascript-box shows "You have to select a program before continuging"...
Do I need to unsubscribe my iOS developer program, to then register it again? Lol!
PS: no clue where I should post this, looked over the forums and could not see anything related to singing up, registering for a program...

Our apps came offline automatically shortly after this as iTunesConnect thought we had not renewed our license, even though we had several weeks ago.
We had a brief panic as our apps were offline for 12 hours, which is how long it took Apple Support to work out what was wrong and hook things up.
I suggest you contact them ASAP to get this fixed so you don't get that iTunesConnect alert to your phone 'Your app status has been changed to Pending Contract'.

  • What Tech Specs are needed for iOS developement and other game developement?

I am looking to buy a new macbook pro most likely the retina because it has a much higher resolution and flash storage which will make it much faster than a regular macbook pro. I am going to use this computer for programming including iOS developement and web design. I will also be using higher end applications like cinema 4d, unity 3d, and the adobe products.
I am in school so i will also be using this for simple school functions.
I was wondering should i get the 16gb model or is 8 enough?
And should i get more internal storage than 256 gb and just use the Apple Time Capsule for a wireless external hard drive or get more storage on the macbook?

Since the RAM on the Retina model can't be upgraded by the user, I would go with the full 16GB.
I would also look at the 512GB flash storage option - you don't want to lug around an external drive.
    Just my 2¢...

If you have not already purchased your Program, you may do so now." It has been more than 24 hours now and I havent receied any email but this one by the time I paid for the membership: "

    Could anyone help me?

I have the same problem, I went to the payment process, selected the program, filled my personal data(credit card, billing address, etc) and after I clicked continue  and I got redirected to a webpage that said "Thank You Once your payment has been processed, you will receive an email from Apple Developer Program Support on how to activate and access your items. It may take up to two (2) business days to process your order." But I have not received any email notification from Apple nor my credit card been charged the $99 and my enrollment status is pending and telling me to go through the purchase process once again.
I filled the form 3 days ago (friday). I dont have a clue where I am standing... Any help please.
Also I sent an email to the support team explaining my concerns and it's been more than 24 hours and no message received.

  • Cannot accept the iOS Developer Program License Agreement in Member Center

We would like to add our new application to App Store.
Although when we click on "Add New App", we get the information from Apple saying we should "review and accept this agreement in the Contracts, Tax, and Banking module".
After we reviewed this agreement, we could not find the option to accept it.
Then we come back to that information and see that someone "with the Team Agent role must have already accepted the iOS Developer Program License Agreement in Member Center".
The problem is that Member Center is unavailable for a quite a long time.
That means our hands are tired now and we cannot add our application.

Welcome to the waiting club buddy.
Most of us have had this problem and have been waiting for the member center to come online for weeks.
I was waiting since day 1. As the same day apple took down their site on thursday 3 weeks ago, was the exact same day I was suppose to upload my app.
We can do nothing but wait. It says on their status page that the member center will be back online 1 week since august 5, it is now august 9 so I really don't know if I can hold on to apple's word anymore.
They gave a commitment to fix everything in 7 days from august 5. We will have to see if they can accomplish this.

  • How can I update from itunes 3.1.2 to latest version? It cuts out every time I try to update.

I currently have software version 3.1.2 every time I log on with my iphone 3gs,  I am unable to update to latest version. It takes and age  , sometimes 2 hrs and then cuts out saying ' time has run out' or something to that effect. I use windows XP. I do have quite an old computer. Someone has suggested I remove Itunes and then reload. I am rather nervous about that, in fear of losing everything!
    Any suggestions? Thanks

Hi there, thanks for your response,
Yes it is IOS I am referring to.
I am running version 10 of Itunes.
The model of Iphone i have is 3G - MC131B - 16gb (the old Iphone) which is running on 3.1.2
When I connect the iphone to itunes, under Version, it says there is a newer version of Iphone software (version 5.1). Click Update. I do this and then the message that comes up every time I try to upload and update is:
'There was a problem downloading the software for the iphone 'xxx' . The network connection timed out' this is often after a few hours or sometimes less than an hour.
Should I remove Itunes and reinstall?
I am trying to change networks and they ask that you make sure you have the latest software.
    Thanks

  • Re: SQL-Developer Freezes Every Time I Click on a Trigger to Edit it

Yes: SQL-Developer Freezes Every Time I Click on a Trigger just to edit it, even though the trigger is disabled. How do I get SQL-Developer to stop freezing-up and making me re-boot every time I even just click on a Trigger to select it, so that I can then rt.-click and edit it. Sometimes, SQL-Developer won't freeze immediately upon selecting the Trigger with my mouse, it will allow me to rt.-click to bring up the pop-up menu where I then try to click on "Edit" so I can change the same trigger, & as soon as I choose "Edit" SQL-Developer freezes-up -- must reboot.
Also, one time I dropped a Trigger altogether in SQL-Developer, not just disabled it, but SQL-Developer was still launching the supposedly "dropped" trigger (the trigger also no longer appeared as an item under "Triggers" tree view) when I ran
a SQL Script that did INSERTs: this supposedly dropped Trigger that no longer appeared anywhere in SQL-Developer was still executing (I could tell because I was getting ERROR MESSAGES in the Messages box) and the Trigger that I had executed the DROP command on from within SQL-Programmer really was only dropped and stopped executing after I re-booted. Can you help me?
My immediate problem is the one above though. Do I need to create a Schema-Level Trigger to disable or drop all Triggers when I first logon (triggered by my logon system event), and then they will "CREATE" properly and stop freezing up and acting weird?

Sorry, the above thread should have been a "new" post, not a reply post.
