Directory Integration Platform Configuration Assistant hanging
Hi,
Installing 10gAS (10.1.2.0.2) infrastructure on Linux ES4 (64-bit) - High Availability cluster, node 1.
The Directory Integration Platform CA is hanging when I retry it, it having previously failed probably due to a Load Balancer config error on my part (I had a timeout set too low (30s) and got "Broken Pipe" error message).
Having fixed this LB config, hit retry on the CA (still in the OUI) but it is just hanging.
Tried deleting the /tmp/EM_CONFIG_INSTALL.lk file, as per the install doc, and retrying but no success.
I am on retry attempt no. 7 and previous attempt (I think attempt no. 4) reported the following in dipca.log:
oracle.ldap.oidinstall.backend.OIDCAException: Invalid Credentials
at oracle.ldap.oidinstall.backend.OIDConfiguration.sslbind(OIDConfiguration.java:814)
at oracle.ldap.oidinstall.backend.OIDConfiguration.<init>(OIDConfiguration.java:144)
at oracle.ldap.oidinstall.backend.OIDConfigWrapper.configDIP(OIDConfigWrapper.java:463)
This log has not been written to since this attempt.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Gavin
Hi,
If the SSOCA falis, you may notice a Java Stack Trace. Can you please post the Java Stack Trace too ? It might give a clue about the problem.

Directory Integration Platform Configuration Assistant - Invalid Credential
O/S: SuSE Enterprise 9
Situation: During the installer for Oracle Application Server 10g Basic Installation/Portal, I see the following error:
"Directory Integration Platform Configuration failed. Please see lofile file: /home/oracle/product/10.1.2/OracleAS/infra/ldap/log/dipca.log"
A review of dipca.log shows the following:
"oracle.ldap.oidinstall.backend.OIDCAException: Invalid Credentials at oracle.ldap.oidinstall.backend.OIDConfiguration.sslbind(OIDConfiguration.java:787"
The user authentication method set up on the server was local (/etc/passwd). Could this be my issue? If so, how do I correct it? Any thoughts as to what the issue is?You can have the BI, J2EE and webcache in a single midtier. That should not be an issue.
The password for b2b stored in OID may be out of sync with the password you have set. Please find out what is the password in OID and then reset your b2b schema password with the password stored in OID. The way to locate the b2b password in OID is as follows:
Login to OID and traverse through the following nodes:
Entry Management | cn=OracleContext | Products | IAS | IAS
Infrastructure Database | orclReferenceName | orclResourceName=B2B
Hope this will resolve your problem,

Net Configuration Assistant hangs
On several onsite computers all running Windows XP Pro, the 10g Net
Config Assistant hangs for at least an hour when I select local net
service name configuration.
Any ideas on why it is hanging?
Thanks,
GregIt keeps resetting the read-only attrib back on for the folder (I tried resetting via file properties and the cmd window)- so I turned off the read only attrib for the files in the directory.
It still hangs -

The problem is that the OC4J Instance Configuration assistant just hangs at the Initializing DCM stage:

Oracle 11g Database Configuration Assistant Hangs At 45% During 1st Install
Platform: Windows Vista 64 Bit Version
Downloaded: Oracle 11g Database 64 Bit
Service Pack 1
Greetings to all my Oracle Seniors. I have been attempting in vain to install the Oracle 11g database software package fully. I was able to complete the initial installation and made it to the second recommended action which was the Database Configuration Assistant operation. After 3 attempts, the progress bar stalled at 45%. I tried to look at the log file cfgtoologs (cloneDBCreation, and CloneRmanRestore), but it said that I didn't have permission. My pre-check cleared OK on everything. So, please direct me as to how to correct this issue.
Thanks
Preston
System IntegratorWell, that is not much of an option right now. I discovered that I have to reinstall the XP Pro OS after attempting the 11g installation 4 times and the install always stalled at 69% during the initial installation. I did have Windows Service Pack 3 installed on the system. I down graded and added 1 G of additional memory and checked the pre-check with no problem. But, the install continued to stall at 69%. So, and, yet, here we are.
Now in regards to the metalink notes, I am new to the forum, so I don't know my way around quite yet. Isn't the metalink the paid suppport option? If so, I don't have that access. -
Agent Configuration Assistant hangs
Hello All,
I am installing the OEM agent (10.2.0.1) on an AIX 5.3 server. After I run the root.sh, it starts to run the Agent Configuration Assistant. At this point it just hangs for hours.
I have installed other 10.2.0.1 agents on other AIX 5.3 servers with no issues and the it completes relatively quickly.
Any ideas as to how to resolve this installation/configuration hang?
Thanks,

OUI Configuration Assistants Hanging at Out of Box setup.
I am trying to install EM Grid Control 10.2.0.5 with option new database using OUI via PuTTy shell with java display back to my client using Exceed. I get all the way to Configuration Assistants > OMS Configuration In Progress...
The install log and details screen show the last line as:
Operation Unlocking Passwords and Out of Box setup is in progress.
This has been this way for over a half hour. Is this normal? Am I hanging up here? It did the same thing yesterday so I killed it and blew everything away and started over today only to have the same results.Never mind, as sure as I posted this it finished that step and is doing the Agent Configuration Assistant.

Oracle DB Configuration Assistant hangs (9i install on Solaris 8)
Attempting to install 9i database (9.0.1) on Solaris 8 on Sparcstation 20. Goes OK until it gets to the Oracle Configuration Assistant. During the "Creating and Starting Oracle instance" phase, it gets to 50% and just stays there. I left it over the weekend (ie, about 60 hours) and still at 50%. The checkmark is still flashing in the Assistant UI, but obviously nothing is happening.
So.. my questions are:
1. I can abort the Assistant. How would I start it manually later?
2. Has anyone seen this and remedied it?
3. How can I determine what went wrong?
4. How can I tell what may have gone wrong in the install process that might cause Oracle to fail to install?
Thanks for your help! What is the server hardware configuration???
Maybe if you have less memory it's happen: 60 hours it's a very long time but you can try to install only the software and then that the installation is finished you can create the database with the database configuration assistant.
Try and say something.
Good Luck.

10G Oracle Database Configuration Assistant hangs at 39%
I'm trying to install the 10G Infrastructure, but when the OUI launches the OPCA, the OPCA just hangs at 39% and never makes it. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Franceshi,
I am also having the same problem with DBCA. Usually it hangs at 40% and then dies. When running the scripts, it also crashes and i am not sure where to go from here. To follow is the last bit of the display for the scripts at they run. There are two errors present. I have done my best to research this issue on my own, however, I have not had any success. If anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated.

Directory Integration Platform - DN Mapping Rule
Hi all,
Can anyone help me with setting up the mapping in a directory synchronization profile in DIP?
Using the GUI, the three fields required are Source Container, DIP-OID Container and DN Mapping rule.
The containers are obvious but what is the syntax for setting the DN mapping rule? I just want to match equality on the cn attributes in each container.
Many thanks,
Bernier u using the AD specific or Default schema?
Cant u simply put the selection criteria as "Present" instead of "Bank" - of course since you say that dn is not available we need to see which field should provide the info. -
OID DIP (Directory Integration Platform) Question
Does anyone have any experience or knowledge with running numerous DIP Profiles on an OID? We're looking at 500+ DIP Profiles, each of them running very frequently, every few minutes. Will it be a problem for OID to handle this number of DIP Profiles?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! We are syncing user information from a non-LDAP directory. Unfortunately, our DIT structure is such that certain types of users (as defined by geographic locations) are contained within separate folders. We have over 500 different "types" of users, each with their own place (container) in the tree. This removes the possibility of having one DIP mapping file. Each office has it's own mapping file and own config file that queries based upon said location.
Thanks. -
DIP (Directory Integration Platform)
What user does DIP actually make modifications with? I'm trying to limit the actions of an OID plug-in so that it is only invoked after (post_modify) DIP makes the modification (i.e. when the synchronized database is modified).
Likewise, it would be useful to know how to make a plug-in fire only when someone besides DIP has made the modification.
Basically this user would be in the Plug-In Management -> "PLUG-IN NAME HERE" -> Optional Properties tab -> Plug-In Request Group.DIP performs the operations as the profile. The identity used will be orclodipagentname=<profilename>,cn=subscriber profile,cn=changelog subscriber,cn=oracle internet directory

Portal Configuration Assistant Installation
I tried installing IAS 9i in another machine where there is no Oracle database. I was successful until the Portal Configuration Tool. It seems to hung at about 22%. I checked the install.log. On the first part, it was able to obtain connection to another machine where my database is. But along the script where it is installing sequences, it lost its connection. Any ideas.
I have the same problem in a diffrent environment. My database (8.1.7) is on the same machine (NT4 SP5) as the 9iAS, which was installed correctly. The Portal Configuration Assistant hangs at 50%, 67%, ... with the "not connected to oracle" error in the log. And the database OracleServicePORTAL (my database) is terminated without any error message. Does your DB stay alive?
I got two hints, but they didn't solve the problem. Maybe they help you.
1) db_block_size must be >=8k
2) The Default Tablespace must be at least 150MB, not 100MB as told in the manual.

How can I get a plan with more GB a month?
I recently purchased the 890L Jetpack and am more or less pleased with it. At worst, my internet speeds are as bad as they were when I had Comcast or was sharing my previous apartment complex's wireless service, and at best it's better than anything

I am trying to move my wife's old prefs and network settings from her old iBook to a sparkly new Powerbook. I have done this before and it is normally very simple and easy - however... When I tried this the old G4 iBook froze and I had to force quit
