Dirty transaction check.

Experts,
Working in jdev 11.1.1.3.0
i want to check dirty transaction on button click.
I have tried with
ControllerContext cctx = ControllerContext.getInstance();
if (!(cctx.getCurrentViewPort().getTaskFlowContext().isDataDirty()))
and
DCBindingContainer dcBindingContainer=(DCBindingContainer)
BindingContext.getCurrent().getCurrentBindingsEntry();
if(dcBindingContainer.getDataControl().isTransactionModified()){
//Code goes here...
but both are failing, while digging into issue i found, issue with transient attribute as check box on row selection. I created one transient attribute to boolean and drop dropped as
check box on the page, when i check this box and click on button its also saying there is some dirty transaction is there.
Here i am not understanding, why its checking transient attribute?
Can input could be highly appreciate.

For all the transient attributes you can change their setter like this
setAttribute("Transient attribute name")to
populateAttribute("Transient Attribute Name")Do this by doing this, you are telling framework not to mark the transaction as dirty in case there are any changes done to these attributes.
Thanks

  • Payment Transaction check box in Posting Key configuration

    Hi all,
    Could you please enlighten me on the use of Payment transaction check box in posting key configuration screen.
    I would like to know what impact does it have if its checked and if unchecked.
    In F1 help its mentioned, Set this indicator in the posting keys for incoming payments, outgoing payments, payment differences (residual items) and payment clearing. - but I am need to know in which scenario this check box plays a role and its affect.
    Thanks,
    DSK

    Hi,
    Generally Payment Transaction checkbox will be checked for Payment Documents. Ex: PK -25 (Outgoing payment) and PK-35 (Incoming payment)
    Payment Transaction checkbox will be unchecked for Invoice Documents. Ex PK-01 (Sales Invoice) and PK-31 (Purchase Invoice)
    In this case, Default Payment Terms will be picked by system automatically at the time of invoice posting.
    Thanks

  • ** Create New Transaction Check Box in BPM

    Hi Friends,
    I have ticked the check box 'Create New Transaction' for every step in BPM. In Block I have mentioned 'Block Start' & 'Block End' property as 'New Transaction'.
    I have gone through SAP Help Transactional Behaviour of BPM. Somewhere it is mentioned by check this to increase system performance, database hit time will be reduced. Somewhere 'No New Transaction' is recommened.
    I am confusing on this.
    Could you kindly help me to understand this clearly ? (Like, what is the advantage of 'Create new Transaction'?, If untick what will happen ? ...)
    Kind regards,
    Jegathees P.

    it depends on how you decide to use the property.
    in help it mentions;
    Transactional Behavior for Specific Step Types
    At runtime, the system normally creates a separate transaction for each step. The transaction then covers this step only. However, you can influence the transactional behavior of particular step types. In the step properties, you can define that the system is not to start a new transaction when the step is executed. The system then executes the step in the transaction that was started at the time of execution. Consequently, no background work item is created for the step and the database does not need to be accessed. In this way you can improve system performance.
    by defining to not use a new transaction at the right place you can improve performance.
    It also depends on step types. For example in case of a sync send this is what help says;
    No New Transaction: You can expect better system performance if the system does not create a new transaction for the send step. However, only select this setting if by repeating the send step the result is not changed (idempotency). This is the case, for example, with lookup operations.
    Note
    If you have selected this setting and an error occurs, synchronous sending can also cause problems in the pipeline and the receiver system following the rollback. Messages with an error status can also remain in the pipeline.
    New Transaction: If the result is changed when the step is repeated, choose Create New Transaction. Otherwise the following error situation can occur: The system successfully executes a synchronous send step but an error occurs in the subsequent step. The system rolls back processing and executes all steps in the transaction - including the send step - again. If the send step results in a write-to operation in the receiver system, for example, creating a purchase order, this is also repeated. This can result in semantic errors.
    Mainly transaction processing helps to have a roll back implemented.

  • Regarding F110 Transaction - Check printing

    Hi All,
       I switch on debuggin for the form of check printing and set a break point in the print program. then when i am going thru the process using F110 tanasaction by providing the variant and other details exactly, then it is not stopping in the form or in the print program, directly it is creating the spool request.
       kindly help me how to debug the check printing form and print program using F110 transaction
    Regards,
    Prasad

    Hi Jilan,
    After activating the debugger in the form and putting break-point in the print program restart the transaction F110.It will stop there.
    If even then it is not getting stopped there then check in the Transaction NACE which form and Print program is configured with the output type of your application.
    OR Go to SE37 transaction display the FM 'OPEN_FORM'.
    put the break-point at the line
    check co_perform-active <> true.
    Restart the transaction F110.Check the value of 'FORM' in debugging mode that will be the form configured to your transaction.

  • Checkbox change does not dirty transaction?

    I have defined a messageCheckBox in an advanced table. The EO and VO point to a database column rejected_flag. The value is 'Y' or Null.
    When I uncheck or check this value then attempt to commit inside my AM, nothing happens. The debugger shows me that getTransaction().isDirty() is false.
    I have checked the EO and VO, both allow updates.
    Thanks, Jerry.

    I had too many problems with checkboxes in rows on an advancedTable. Perhaps checkboxes are not the best choice for Yes or No columns on tables.
    I changed the column to a Y or N poplist based on external LOV and have not had any problems.

  • Transaction Utilization Amount in Single Transaction Check

    Hello Experts,
    Can anyone share on what is the formula on how the Transaxtion Utilization Amount is being calculated in the TBL9 report?
    I know that its based on  the Determination Procedure but somehow I cant figure out how the amount is being derived by the report.
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks,
    Katherine

    Hi
    Please check the accounting doc ument created at the time of utilization. It could be possible that the key user would have choosen PLA HEcess account for the full amount or there could be no credit available in RG23A /C account to the extent of payment of HEcess amount.

  • How do I prevent dirty transaction as a result of DetailFlag in show hide

    I have an OATable with show/hide flag, however I noticed that it dirties the transaction when it is being clicked.
    The reason why I know this is when I sort a table field AFTER I expand a show/hide, it sends a warning
    Warning - The table cannot be sorted because it has pending changes which would be lost.
    How do I prevent this from happening?
    Thanks!

    One way to get over this is to use populateAttribute() in setters instead of setAttribute(attribute, value).
    Also there are couple of threads in this regard. Going through them would give you more clues.
    Thanks

  • Pending Transaction Check

    Does anyone know if there is a way to determine if there are any pending changes on a transaction?
    We are on Oracle 8.6.1, but upgrading to 9.2 in the next month or so.
    I have no need to know the details of any pending changes, just a boolean - Are there any or not?
    I have a client program and I wish to implement something on a timer. This timer code should only run if there have been no inserts, updates, or deletes performed since the last rollback or commit because the code will do a commit.
    I tried coding it in stored procedures that use autonymous transactions and it worked fine in testing, but when put into higher volume use in production the corporate DBAs told me that their error logs were filling up with strange system errors.
    The errors went away when we took the code out.
    This was months ago and I am just getting back to it now and the error logs are gone so I can't tell you what they were.
    Thanks for any help,
    Chris Elvart
    SBC

    Unless I'm missing something here, your timer driven program should be a transaction all on its own. Any commit in your program should only affect transactions done by your program. You would never be able to commit my transactions.
    Without knowing what the error messages were, or the nature of your program, it is difficult to speculate. Perhaps you can persuade your DBA's to allow it back into production long enough to get the errors again. Then post at least the outline of the program and the errors seen, maybe someone will have some ideas.

  • ADF call stored Oracle procedure - make transaction dirty

    Hi all,
    I have the next question:
    my ADF application is doing massive data processing that I placed in Oracle stored procedure/package to improve performance.
    Data processing takes 1-2 sec. I'm not doing any commit/rollback in my PL/SQL code.
    I have "Save"/"Undo" button in the GUI and I want, that an end user to make corresponding action to commit/rollback data by pressing one of the buttons.
    Normally those buttons are disabled since transaction is not dirty.
    Is it possible to mark transaction dirty, so that "Save"/"Undo" buttons are available?
    I know I can make buttons always available, but I not allowed to do so.
    Are any other workarounds? Or can it be done in another proper way?
    Thanks.
    Alexander

    Hi Timo!
    well , good idea!
    and I've already tried to fight with issue when I was getting transaction dirty by clicking on transient checkbox-attribute and tried to find a way to make a dirty transaction to clean :).
    What do you think if I run something like:
    this.saveButton.setDisabled(false);
    this.undoButton.setDisabled(false);
    after a call to stored procedure and use the next code
    this.saveButton.setValueExpression("disabled",getValueExpression("#{!bindings.Commit.enabled}"));
    this.saveButton.setValueExpression("disabled",getValueExpression("#{!bindings.Rollback.enabled}"));
    in commit/Save & rollbak/Undo button handlers? Would it work?

  • Running queries in af:query panel dirties current transaction?

    Hi,
    I've met the following issue (JDev 11g, build 5188): I'm using a custom action handler for the Back button in my pages that checks whether there are uncommitted changes before navigating back to the previous page. If the transaction is dirty, the user is sent a confirmation dialog that asks whether to commit or rollback changes before leaving the edit form.
    To identify a dirty transaction, it uses the following code snippet as suggested by Steve Muench:
    BindingContext bc = BindingContext.getCurrent();
    boolean txnDirty = bc.findDataControlFrame(bc.getCurrentDataControlFrame()).isTransactionDirty();Now this normally works fine, until I added an af:query panel to the page itself, with ResultComponentId set to my edit form. Now, the search runs fine too, however when performing a search and then leaving the page, the transaction is dirty and I get the confirmation dialog even if no data were modified at all.
    That is, I just open the page, run a search and leave the page, no edits whatsoever. This makes txnDirty=true for some reason. Why is running a search through af:query marking my data as modified? Can I disable this behaviour?
    I tried with a custom query listener which does suspendTransaction() for the current datacontrol frame, runs the query invoking "#{bindings.MyViewCriteriaQuery.processQuery}", then resumeTransaction(), but nothing changes.
    Suggestions, anyone?
    thanks,
    RickyS

  • [BC4J] Master currency change + dirty details = warning (how?)

    Sorry for the lame subject, but it's the best I could do. :)
    Anyway, I 'want' something, but I could use some advice on how to accomplish it. Here's what I've been trying to realise:
    - A simple master-detail scenario
    - One of the detail records has been altered
    - The master currency changes
    - A popup comes up to warns me to either commit or rollback pending changes
    And
    - One of the master records has been altered
    - The master currency changes
    - Nothing happens
    I hope this explains what I need. :) So far I've created a new CustomViewObjectImpl class which I use as a base for all my ViewObjects. In this new class I override the executeQueryForCollection() method, because if I'm not mistaken, this is the location where the check for dirty details should be performed.
    However, a simple call to getDBTransaction().isDirty() is too simplistic, too unspecific.
    I think I somehow need to end up with a ViewRowSetIterator instance (which has the isDirty() method) which is contained or derived from one of the detailRowSets of "this". Any ideas of how I can retrieve it?
    So far, I've got something like this:
    protected void executeQueryForCollection(Object qc,
                                             Object[] params,
                                             int noUserParams)
    RowSet[] details = getDetailRowSets();
    ViewRowSetIteratorImpl vrsi;
    for (int i = 0; i < details.length; i++)
      vrsi = ....; // how to retrieve it ?
      if (vrsi.isDirty())
        switch (JOptionPane.showConfirmDialog(null,
                                              "Save changes?",
                                              "Attention",
                                              JOptionPane.YES_NO_OPTION,
                                              JOptionPane.WARNING_MESSAGE))
          case JOptionPane.YES_OPTION:
            getDBTransaction().commit();
            break;
          default:
            getDBTransaction().rollback();
            break;
    super.executeQueryForCollection(qc, params, noUserParams);
    }

    Hi,
    I had a quite similar need, except the "Nothing happens" part on altered master.
    I realize this makes quite a difference, but maybe my solution could help you somehow.
    After trying several possibilities, I considered the following approach.
    1. I extended ViewRowImpl in MyViewRowImpl and wrote the following:
         private boolean areDetailsModified()
              String[]          viewLinks = getViewObject().getViewLinkNames();
              for( int i = 0; i < viewLinks.length; i++ )
                   ViewLink          viewLink = getApplicationModule().findViewLink( viewLinks[ i ] );
                   ViewObject     detailView = viewLink.getDestination();
                   Row          linkRow = null;
                   if( detailView.isExecuted() )
                        linkRow = detailView.getCurrentRow();
                   if( linkRow != null && viewLink.getSource() == getViewObject() &&
                       linkRow instanceof MyViewRowImpl &&
                       ( (MyViewRowImpl)linkRow ).getViewRowState() != Entity.STATUS_UNMODIFIED )
                        return true;
              return false;
          * Assume a view row creates/updates/removes its main entity.
          * If the row itself was not modified, checks for changes in details.
         public byte getViewRowState()
              Entity          entity = getEntity( 0 );
              switch( entity.getEntityState() )
                   case Entity.STATUS_INITIALIZED:
                   case Entity.STATUS_NEW:
                        return Entity.STATUS_NEW;
                   case Entity.STATUS_MODIFIED:
                        return Entity.STATUS_MODIFIED;
                   case Entity.STATUS_UNMODIFIED:
                        if( !entity.isValid() || areDetailsModified() )
                             return Entity.STATUS_MODIFIED;
                        break;
              return Entity.STATUS_UNMODIFIED;
         }2. In my JClient client (still to use for the UIX one), I installed a JUPanelValidationListener and implemented
         public void beforeCurrencyChange( JUPanelValidationEvent event )
              Row          row = event.getIteratorBinding().getCurrentRow();
              int          rowState = Entity.STATUS_MODIFIED;
              if( row instanceof MyViewRow )
                   rowState = ( (MyViewRow)row ).getViewRowState();
         }3. And yes, not so fancy, I also made some changes to trace a "user-dirty" transaction (for some insert vs. LOV issues)...
    Greetings,
    Adrian

  • Reset dirty view state

    Hi All,
    By any chance anybody knows solution to this little problem:
    I have ActionListener that is activated when user click on the breadcrumb and perform some clean up in the views.
    private void rollBackChanges(String selectedIterator) {
    FacesContext fc = getFacesContext();
    ValueBinding vb = fc.getApplication().createValueBinding("#{bindings}");
    DCBindingContainer bc = (DCBindingContainer) vb.getValue(fc);
    DCIteratorBinding iterator = bc.findIteratorBinding(selectedIterator);
    if (iterator != null) {
    ViewObjectImpl vo = (ViewObjectImpl) iterator.getViewObject();
    doCleanViewLinks(vo.getViewLinks());
    doCleanCurrentRow(vo);
    vo.clearCache();
    //Commit here because on the UI alert for changes are coming up in spite of removing all changes
    //vo.getDBTransaction().commit();
    if(vo.getDBTransaction().isDirty()){
    throw new RuntimeException("Transaction is Dirty");
    private void doCleanViewLinks(ViewLink[] links) {
    for (ViewLink vl: links) {
    ViewObjectImpl vol = (ViewObjectImpl) vl.getDestination();
    doCleanCurrentRow(vol);
    vol.clearCache();
    private void doCleanCurrentRow(ViewObjectImpl view) {
    ViewRowImpl row = (ViewRowImpl) view.getCurrentRow();
    if (row != null) {
    row.refresh(Row.REFRESH_UNDO_CHANGES | Row.REFRESH_REMOVE_NEW_ROWS);
    I do not have dirty transaction on the views but on the UI pop up message warns me about uncommitted changes, so how do I reset this view or synchronize it's state to views.
    Thanks in advance,
    Alex
