Disable browser functionality through Portal

Hello, I was curious to know if it is possible to disable Browser functionality (such as toolbars, navigation buttons, address bar) through a Portal setting? I know this is possible to do through Javascript's window.open() function; however I'd like to remove the functionality on the initial client call without having to pop another window to do so.
Any suggestions?

At this time it does not appear that this is possible to do. The best solution I can find is stated below. If a better solution can be found, please feel free to post it to the community!

A browser makes a request to a url. That url points to an html file with javascript. The javascript opens a new browser window, disables the browser functionality and has it load the actual portal.

we get the same problem but when we approve a workitem from UWL, is not showing any error, instead shows a succesfully message.... but workitem not dissapear. We've to go to Backend system and approve workitem to continue to next step on workflow.
Is like UWL hasn't got any relevancy on decission steps on workitems.
Could you give me some answer about?

How can I disable the mouse button 4 and 5 "forward" and "back" functions through firefox?

I've seen this problem come up on forums before but was unable to find a good solution.
When using Ventrilo, I have my speak button bound to the mouse button 4 of my logitech mouse. This button is conveniently placed for gaming because it makes use of my otherwise unused right thumb, and I have been using it for years and probably couldn't adjust if i tried to change it.
Firefox uses mouse button 4 for the "back" function, meaning that if i'm on ventrilo while browsing the web with firefox, i have to remember to move the cursor to the menu bar at the bottom of my screen or go back a page. it's infuriating if i forgot, especially if i'm playing some sort of browser game at the time, as i basically have to restart whatever i'm doing.
The only solutions i've found for this involve binding mouse button 4 to some other (rarely used) key, which is an annoying solution at best, or changing some vital computer files, which I dont have the expertise to do myself and dont trust anyone else to do for me. It's an absolutely unacceptable solution anyway: why should i have to change my computer's files to disable a function which should be editable through firefox?
does anyone know how this can be fixed? or know how we can get mozilla to put this feature into some future patch, as other people have been asking them to do for YEARS?

This can be a highly frustrating problem. I just spent 45 minutes working on an email. Nearing the end I go to grab my mouse after typing and accidentally hit mouse 4 and lose everything. This isn't the first time I have lost work or an email. I would say the ONLY reason why there currently lacks a strong feedback against this is because the majority of people do not have mouse 4+5 buttons on their mice. Please add the option to just disable this "feature". It's just far to easy to accidentally hit these buttons accidentally and potentially lose a lot. I don't know anyone who actually uses these buttons anyways.

It is strongly discouraged to delete nsPrivateBrowsingService.js as it can cause Firefox to malfunction.

Issues while running a WebDynpro Application through portal.

I am trying to execute a webdynpro application through portal and facing some issues. I hope to get a significant help from the experts:
> Initially, a report is called from the portal which in turns calls the WebDynpro Application.
> After this, I am again trigerring "FIRE" event in order to go back to report.
At this step, portal shows a message "The Page Can Not be Displayed". Browser link field contains the event name which I am passing to the Fire Event.
Can anybody let me know the root cause for this issue? Below is the piece of code that I am using for navigating from Webdynpro to Report.
        l_sapgui_manager->fire(
          EXPORTING
            name = 'INDI'
        parameters = lt_parameters ).
lt_parameters contains some field values which are required in the report.

BlazeDS provides push functionality through HTTP ??

In my application i am integrating my Flex app with Java Struts using BalzeDS. Now i have a requirement like Data(Server) push functionality through HTTP. I am using HTTPService calls only in my Flex application. Can BlazeDS provides push functionality through HTTP.If so , how can i use that??
I read a article about "BlazeDS Remote Object Service " and "BlazeDS Messaging Service" . I am so much confused. Please Help....

Yes -- I had a similar experience. I found the order in which you enable this stuff is critical.
For me, I had to first enable the push server, configure it, stop it, go back into mail, set the server to push, start the notification service, then start and stop the mail service.
Push showed my test Leopard client as a connected user; no matter what I did with the iPhone though I couldn't get it to push (or connect.)
I ended up disabling the whole thing though, when I started seeing references in the system log to push service error messages. I'll need to dig back through them to paste them here on the forum, but it appeared something still isn't quite right.
The complete lack of technical documentation on this is a bit annoying, to say the lease.

Workflow should trigger through portal.

Hi Experts,
I am new to workflow.
I have a requirement to trigger workflow through portal.
This is basically to automate the reimbursement process.
When the user submits the form it should go for approval to the managers
depending on the claimed amount.
I want to know how we can do this, is there any standard workflow or we should customize the workflow. Can this be done only through portal alone .
Please give me a clear idea how to proceed.

Disable KM functionality (UWL)

Hello all,
the UWL is the only part of the KMC we are using. The question i have, is it possible to disable additional functionality?
E.g. when you have a workiten, it does show the sender of the respective workitem. When you click on the sender you get an pop-up window with further information about the sender (name, email etc). Would it be possible to disable this functionality, so you just see the name of the sender of a workitem in the UWL, but its not a link, just plain text?

Can someone tell me the technical reason for disabling browswer caching in Portal.
This is a big problem for our client who have central rollout of software and the corporate decision is to allow automatic browswer caching in IE 5.0.1.
Why does the Portal framework not generate the cache-control header directive to prevent the browser from using its caching facility? See http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616-sec14.html#sec14.9.1 for more info on this.

Disable Browser buttons(Back,Forward etc) in Mobile.

I have a WD application which runs perfectly fine on desktop as by default WD framework disables the built in browser functionality of using <b>BACK, FORWARD.</b>
If I test the same application on a mobile device and if I use the BACK button of pocket IE then the application throws error.
Is this a known issue for Mobile WebDynpro or is there any way by which I can disable programmatically those pre-defined browser functionalities.

Surely there must be some UserChrome.css that will solve this problem. Something like this:

Problem in viewing Accounts iview through portal.

I am facing problem when i am trying to view the Accounts iView through
portal. The same iView is running well directly through CRM system.
In portal a small window is poped asking for username and password for
Site : crmprd.ssg.local and
Realm : SAP Web Application Server [CP1]
I tried by providing the user name and password of CRM but it's not
working. When I cancel that popped window then that Accounts iView is
displayed but all the tabs and links in that page are inactive.
And also when i am clicking on the any of the tab then at lower left corner of
the browser "access is denied" message is coming.
I will be thankfull for the reply.

The BSP is just a URL as far as the portal is concerned. Just make sure the same URL is being generated as if you called the BSP directly.

In recent versions of Lion, Java is automatically disabled (for security reasons) if it goes unused for a certain amount of time. You can re-enable it in the General pane of the Java Preferences app, found in /Applications/Utilities. (Check the box at the top of that pane.) If trying to open Java Preferences results in a message asking if you want to install Java, you don't actually have Java yet. Click the install button to install it.
Note that having Java turned on in your web browser is dangerous, due to recent proliferation of malware that uses Java to install itself.

Error message in BW Report through Portal

I really need your help to remove the waring message.
For the purpose of changing the description on the Selection screen from Cost Cetnters (Authorised Values) to Funds Centers I had changed the ZCCTRATI variable description to Funds Centers
Issue:
When we open the old report we see the following information message.
" Value if variable ZCCTRAT1 is automatically converted
I did go to TC RSRT as of Dinesh,Vijay advice ,Just want to know that what message i need to Click .because i could nt find the relevant message

User is locked in R/3 but still access the application through portal

We are currently on NW2004s SP10 .
We locked the User A in R/3 SRM backend system and from Enterprise Portal the same User A login and try to access the SRM application in backend . The system is allowing to access which we want to prevent .
The authentication ticket type is "SAP Logon Ticket" . The User A is trying to access ITS services through Portal.
Do we have specific SSO parameter which needs to set in backend SRM application .
