Disable caching of WLS HTML/JSP

I have JSP which performs some action and based on that either presents the HTML or forwards the request to another JSP. This works Ok first, but subsequent time if I try to go to first JSP, it goes directly to second JSP. Seems WLS is caching the HTML.

          cache is disabled by default.
          Refer to cache tag.

    Since my jsp pages have the meta tag <META HTTP-EQUIV="Pragma" CONTENT="no-cache"> some of the pages are being stored in temporary internet files folder and being called from there and this cause really big problems since all the data has to come from database,

  • How can one encrypt the source code of a given web page(html, jsp, etc.) ?

    Good Day! I'm just having a hard time of thinking how to encrypt the source code of a given web page(html, jsp, etc.) without affecting how it is previewed in an Internet Browser. What I plan is to disable the capabilities of some malicious Internet users of copying the source codes of my web pages by using the "View Source" option of Internet Explorer and the equivalent function in Netscape Navigator. Please somebody help me in this matter (I'm planning to use an IDEA algorithm using JCE)....
    It would be big help if a running code is supplied.
    Thank you very much in advance.
    God Bless!!!
    - Jonathan Untalan([email protected])

    don't know theses softs. What i know about encrypted web pages, is that you need a secure socket connection (https).
    Your web page will be ciphered, send to the user, and decipher by the browser with the signature file associated to your https connexion.
    It isn't possible to encrypt your page directly, and then decrypt them when requested.
    For the download time, only the server is responsible for this.
    if it is overloaded, then it will slow down its upload.
    Maybe you use some encryption method that require a lot of CPU time.
    For summary : you can only cipher the pipe transport, but not the transported pages.
    Good luck in your search.

  • Disable caching ACS dynamic users

    Hi all!
    I have an ACS 3.3(2)b2 what use AD as an external DB. I experianced, that dynamic users created after successful authentication from the AD, and these users don't purge themself from the ACS internal DB. I did a test environment, and the same thing happened. I upgraded the ACS to 4.0, and the same thing happened.
    I find a mention in the ACS4.0 user guide, what says the following:
    "Users that are dynamically mapped will keep on being dynamically mapped even when their group
    mapping settings are modified to a group which is set to Disable caching of dynamically mapped users."
    So my question is, where can I disable caching of dynamically mapped users?
    Thanks a lot for the answers!
    By(e)
    Miki

    Miki,
    This is a feature that is added on ACS 4.2 see the release notes below:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_secure_access_control_server_for_windows/4.2/release/notes/ACS42_RN.html#wp90436
    Option of disabling caching of dynamic users-Administrators can determine whether they want to disable the creation of dynamic users while using an external database for authentication. Minimal performance disruption occurs when disabling caching of dynamic users.

  • Disabling cache for Dynamic MBeans on weblogic EM

    Hi,
    Can we disable caching of a DynamicMBean by Weblogic EM. In other way, when ever i try to access a MBean it should call getMBeanInfo() method.
    I can refresh the MBeans by manually clicking the refresh button in EM console but can i do that in java code.
    Thank You

    Change this code
    <i>WebLogicObjectName mbeanName = new WebLogicObjectName("MBeanDomain:Name=Hello,Type=ServerConfig");
    WebLogicMBean mbean = (WebLogicMBean)home.getMBean(mbeanName);</i>
    to
    MBeanServer mbs = home.getMBeanServer()
    ObjectName oname = new ObjectName("MBeanDomain:Name=Hello,Type=ServerConfig");
    // to invoke your mbean's hello method
    mbs.invoke(oname, "hello", null, null);
    You should remember that for CustomMBean's you cannot use MBeanHome.

  • Disable cache for items

    Hi!
    Is it possible to disable showing cached values for items (for ex. numeric values)? To have the list helps to speed up the work in general, but sometimes could be disturbing. So is it possible to disable cached value list for specific items?
    András

    Hi András,
    I think you are referring to browser's native autocomplete functionality. Try adding the following to the 'HTML Form Element Attributes' for the specific item you wish to disable this functionality:
    autocomplete="off"If you wanted to do this at page level, it's also possible to switch this off declaratively via 'Edit Page > Security > Form Auto Complete'.
    Hope this helps.

  • XML, XSL - HTML(JSP), bad UTF-8 encoding on Tomcat

    I use simple transformation to create HTML (JSP) page from XML, XSL (both are encoded in UTF-8}. When doing this in embedded web server in JD9i developer, the result is fine. But when run at Tomcat 4.0.3, UTF-8 chars are displayed as 2 characters. It's interesting that the transformation gives different results:
    - in JD9i the UTF-8 chars are left unchanged and shown good in IE browser
    - in Tomcat the chars with acute (/) are transformed into "&iacute;" , "&aacute;" and so on and shown properly, whereas chars with caron (V) are encoded and shown badly.
    Does somebody know solution to this ? Thanks.

    Doing some more experiments reveals a subtle difference between GET and POST with Tomcat - it may apply to other application servers, but I have only tested with Tomcat 5 and Tomcat 6, so I can't say.
    The following is essentially what most people have indicated you need to do to have your JSP handle UTF-8:
    <%@ page language="java" contentType="text/html; charset=UTF-8" pageEncoding="UTF-8" %>
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
    <html>
    <head>
      <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">
      <title>My Title</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    </body>
    </html>This is what I couldn't get working with my GET (the default for forms) and ended up working when I specified the URIEncoding for the connector in the server.xml file.
    It turns out that the above will work with no modifications to the server.xml file if the form method is POST. If you need to be able use GETs then you will need to modify the connector, otherwise it would seem nothing you do at the JSP or servlet level will make a difference, unless you want to convert each parameter manually:
      String parameter = new String( request.getParameter("myParam").getBytes("ISO-8859-1"), "UTF-8" );Edited by: ajmasx on Sep 27, 2007 10:20 AM

    It doesn't matter that you are using SSL if I understood your question correctly. I'm not certain but I think it does matter. As I understand it, no SSL/HTTPS pages should be cached since this could represent a security weakness. I was a bit vague. I meant that it doesn't matter what he is using under the hood since he isn't doing any "programming" if he's only serving pages. Everything should be related to configuring the server correctly, and/or using the correct header directives (not sure since I'm not a web developer)

  • How can WLS use JSP pages in a Web Application witth just a JRE [Web Application, WAR, JSP, weblogic.jsp.pageCheckSeconds and JRE]

              How can WLS use JSP pages in a Web Application (either a .war file or a war directory structure) without a java compiler?
              I suspect either the JSP specification is flawed (i.e. it doesn't take account of servers using just a JRE), or BEA's implementation is broken.
              Production servers do not have a JDK installed. They only have a JRE. Therfore a java compiler is not present on the machine that the Web Application is deployed onto.
              On the development machine, when the server is requested to load the JSP it creates a tmpwar directory within the Web Application directory structure. This is then included in the resultant .war file thus:
              D:\war>jar -tf gmi.war
              META-INF/
              META-INF/MANIFEST.MF
              gmiService.jsp
              WEB-INF/
              WEB-INF/classes/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/gmi/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/gmi/gmiService.class
              WEB-INF/getList.xsl
              WEB-INF/getListByConnection.xsl
              WEB-INF/getListByDistrict.xsl
              WEB-INF/getListByDistrictConnection.xsl
              WEB-INF/lib/
              WEB-INF/source/
              WEB-INF/source/build.bat
              WEB-INF/source/gmiService.java
              WEB-INF/web.xml
              WEB-INF/weblogic.xml
              tmpwar/
              tmpwar/jsp_servlet/
              tmpwar/jsp_servlet/_gmiservice.class
              tmpwar/jsp_servlet/_gmiservice.java
              When deployed on the production server with the web.xml file set to use the following values (note XML stripped):
              weblogic.jsp.pageCheckSeconds
              -1
              weblogic.jsp.precompile
              false
              weblogic.jsp.compileCommand
              javac
              weblogic.jsp.verbose
              true
              weblogic.jsp.packagePrefix
              jsp_servlet
              weblogic.jsp.keepgenerated
              false
              And in the weblogic.properties file:
              weblogic.httpd.webApp.gmi=war/gmi
              I've also tried with the .war file, but that insists on creating another tmpwar directory outside of the .war file.
              Then, although I have set pageCheckSeconds to -1 (don't check and don't recompile) ter production server still attempts to recompile the JSP's:
              Mon Sep 25 11:40:11 BST 2000:<I> <WebAppServletContext-gmi> *.jsp: init

    The default Java compiler from sun lives in the tools.jar that comes with
              the JDK. Just add that to your set of JARs which are deployed in production
              and you should be fine. No need to install the full JDK - just make the
              tools.jar available to WebLogic.
