Disable creation of Maploader folders

Hi,
Recently, very sadly, my  5410i died. So I got a new phone. This one has a USB port, so I decided to check out the OVI software. It's pretty useful for backing up my contacts (about 200).
However, since installing the software I noticed I have folders Maploader on each harddrive (and I have quite a few). I don't like those folders everywhere. With a little Googling I found out OVI is most likely doing this and considering my history of installing software, it makes a lot of sense to me.
So: how do I disable the creation of these folders? I already removed OVI from the list of programs to start up with Windows, but isn't there an option in OVI to disable this annoying habit?
Thanks a lot!
J

the new version was released a few days ago, so i guess you might have an older version.
even on my external hard drives those folders don't exist.
the new version looks like the image.

  • Disable creation of unavailable volumes?

When some process in OSX wants to write to an unavailable volume, you won't get an error as user, but a new volume folder is created on the harddisk to make the writing of the file possible. With Timemachine over Airport for example, a lot of mess is created on the local harddisk if the Airport connection is not too good.
Question: is there a way to disable creation of volume folders? As these folders are invisble and very hard to manage (login via root and delete the stuff) I would rather have OSX pop up a dialog like "this volume is not available: with three buttons or so fail, retry, abort". Any idea how to block this behaviour?

  • How to prevent creation of My * folders on Home drive

First a little background. Our enterprise (some 11,000+ computers) utilize Active Directory to manage user logons and credentials. Every user has a home drive mapped to one of our many servers as part of their Active Directory profile. As a matter
of policy, users are prohibited from storing images, videos and audio on any of the servers. These files instead may be located on the users workstation.
    More to the point now.
All of the home drives are proliferated with numerous My Music, My Pictures and My Video folders, all of which are empty and unused. If it were not for the fact that these folders turn up not only in the root of the home folder, but also in the My Documents
folder and even in sub folders deep within the file structure, we would not be concerned. Deleting these empty folders does no good as they are immediately recreated when the user logs in again.
Is there a way to prevent the creation of these folders in the home drive?

    Hi,
We could not delete My Music, My Pictures and My Video folders, but we could redirect these folders to another drive or a network share.

If you are talking the actual creation of a table entry for the IT9XXX then I would think that could be handled through the Role, if not then you could add some code to ZXPADU02 to stop it.

  • Disable creation of VPN "*Session" credential in Credential Manager without disabling all of Credential Manager?

Is there a way to disable creation of the VPN "*Session" credential in Credential Manager without disabling all of Credential Manager?
I know that you can disallow storing all domain creds in Credential Manager by setting the following registry entry to 1 (but this doesn't fix my issue):
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa
    Value Name: DisableDomainCreds
    Value Type: REG_DWORD
    Value: 1
On my Windows 8 Enterprise workstation, I use mapped drives with one domain account and Outlook with a different domain account. Using the fix above fixes my issue with mapped drives (after sleep mode, reconnect to VPN and my mapped drives won't reconnect until
I delete the '*Session' credential) but then I cannot use Outlook at all.  Note: I do not log on to Windows 8 with either of the domain
accounts mentioned above (I use a local admin account) and I do not 'save my password' in Outlook.

I should clarify my question: Is there a way to disable creation of the VPN "*Session" credential in Credential Manager
without disabling all domain creds in Credential Manager?
On my Windows 8 Enterprise workstation, I use mapped drives with one domain account and Outlook with a different domain account.
Normally I can use Outlook if I am connected to the vpn and I can use it if I am not connected to the vpn.
Normally I can use the mapped drives if I am connected to the vpn and I I can use the mapped drives if I am not connected to the vpn.
The vpn is essential for me to do my work for reasons other than the mapped drives and the usage of Outlook, but I need to be able to use the mapped drives and Outlook whether I am connected to the vpn or not.
Let's say my two domain accounts are these: drive-account and outlook-account.  I must use the outlook-account for the connection to the vpn.  When I connect to the vpn, it creates the '*Session' credential in the Credential Manager for outlook-account,
the mapped drives disconnect and they will not reconnect until I delete the newly created '*Session' credential.  The error is 'An error occurred while reconnecting <drive letter1:> to <\\network\path>  Microsoft Windows Network: The
local device name is already in use.  This connection has not been restored.'  Further evidence that it is the '*Session' credential causing the failure to reconnect is that I have two mapped drives and if I disconnect one of them and try to reconnect
the other one, I get a different error, 'An error occurred while reconnecting <drive letter2:> to <\\network\path2> Microsoft Windows Network: Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name,
are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections to the server or shared resource and try again.  This connection has not been restored.'  Manually recreating that first connection then allows me to get back into both, but I should not have to
manually delete and recreate a mapped drive every time my computer goes to sleep.  At least the manual deletion of the '*Session' credential is slightly less intrusive, but I'd still appreciate if there is a way to disable the creation of the '*Session'
credential without disabling all domain creds in Credential Manager.  As I have said, if I disable domain creds using the registry fix some have suggested, I do not get the drive errors (after sleep mode and reconnecting to vpn), but I cannot use Outlook
    at all.
Note: I do not log on to Windows 8 with either of the domain accounts mentioned above (I use a local admin account) and I do not 'save my password' in Outlook.

  • ZIP extraction and creation of unwanted folders for them

    Hi.
Is there a way to force "archive utility" to put all files from all zip's form folder to unpack all to that folder without paths and replace any duplicates or maybe rename it? In WinRAR that action i can perform without any effort from my side, on Mac i cannot find any app to do that. There is Stuffit, but this app is corny.
Example: I have 30 different zip with pictures, but in some of them are duplicates (same pictures) and what i need is to Archive utility (or other app) to extract all zips into current folder without folders around them, into root of that folder and replace all duplicates with one, so i get one copy of picture instead of 30...
    cheers

For every user a folder is created in userhome. One approach is to capture this folder creation event and create the folder structure you need. You need to develop a portal service which will listen to events from userhome repository.
    1. Capture folder creation event for user home
    2. Create the folder structure you want in this event handler
Check this documentation on how to do this.

  • Mass creation of common folders for different user groups

    Hello Experts,
We are using Portal 7.0 SP12 and we have 10 different user groups created in Portal.
Based on this group structure, we need to create two common folders in each of the user's personnel documents in KM.
Is there is any way to achieve this kind of requirement ?
Can we do mass creation of these two common folders which will be assigned to all of the groups. This needs to be done in user's personnel documents and not in Public documents.
Any help in this context would be highly appreciated. points assured.
    Thanks in advance,

  • Want to disable Mail.app attaching folders with double click

I recently upgraded to Leopard from Tiger and one of the really annoying things I contend with on an almost daily basis is the new (4.3) Mail.app's behavior regarding double clicking of folders.
Basically when I am trying to navigate to add an attachment, I often accidentally double click folders as I am trying to make my way through them. In 99% of programs this is not an issue, but in Mail, the program will decide that what I want to do is attach the folder. Often this happens with giant, top-level folders, and so I am treated to a 10-20 second or so wait while it locates all 20GB of files in the folder and tries to add them to an e-mail. Then I have to delete that attachment and start over again.
Is there any way to simply disable this behavior? I don't think I've had to attach a folder in a mail message in my life, yet I run into this problem almost every time I try to attach files.
I don't consider monkeying with my double-click speed to be much of a solution. This is really just an issue with this one application.

It took me a while to figure out what it was you were seeing.
That happens in Column view because that is what column view does. You only need to click once on a folder to open it in column view. So, if you double-click, it thinks you want to use that folder. Attaching a folder to an email is a somewhat expected behavior, so that is how Mail responds. Other apps aren't expecting to get a folder, so it just happily ignores your double-click and waits until you provide a file to open.
If you are in the habit of double-clicking to open all folders, then switch the layout to list view or icon view in the attach file dialog. Or, stop double-clicking folders in column view.

  • How do I stop creation of multiple folders and files while importing CD

I am such a dinosaur. All I want to do is load some CD's and play them on my computer. iTunes starts automatically, and, dispite my settings, it does not get track names before starting process. Further, although my settings are to the contrary, it creates folders and subfolders, and I don't want any. When I start the CD, iTunes goes through the long process as if each track were being saved, but if I eject CD, it is not saved. If I save it, iTunes goes through the whole long process again, and if I don't click "do not replace", I end up with duplicates of each track - just the track number in one folder, and track number with name in another folder. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

Getting tracks names automatically doesn't always work first attempt. Making folders during ripping process is normal for iTunes. Set iTunes not to rip CDs when inserted, then when you are ready to rip you can start process. This lets you get the album info added before ripping.

  • Creation of custom folders in userhome directory

    Hi,
is it possible to append a custom program to create additional folders in /userhome/<userid>/ when this folder is created (at first userlogin)?
    Regards
    Jens

    hi
yes but not advised because it is advised to create folders manually and make corresponding changes to PCD startup.properties files and restart the server  .hope this   helps you just give search and find PCDstartup.properties file in usr directory and see transport related properties and also u can create folders inside KM repository using KM api.
please don,t forget to give points

  • Creation of Virtual folders and subscription

    Hi All,
We currently have a scenario where permissions are enabled at document level, but there is a business need to set subscription at folder level. The folders have documents of different regions and permissions to these documents are set based on user region.
How do I enable subscription at folder level? Should we create virtual folders or is there an alternate way. Please provide pointers to do the same. How do we set permissions to virtual folder's based on the user access.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Rukmani

    Hello Rukmani,
When you create a subscription, you have various options to choose from, as far as how deep into a subfolder structure the subscription reaches.  So, if you set the subscription at the folder level, you can set the subscription to reach documents inside subfolders.  That way, you could have multiple subfolders (perhaps one for each region?) within the parent folder, each with their own set of permissions, and the users will only be notified when something is published that they have access to.
Would this fulfill your requirement?  Hope this helps a bit.
    Cheers,
    Fallon

  • Mass Creation of KM Folders

    Hi All,
I want to create mass folders in KM.
Do you know any way to do this without using KM API?
And if that is the only way do you know any example of it?
    Best Regards
    Natasha

    Hi Natasha,
the most elegant way definitely will be creating them through the KM API.
You can create a deep structure (for example the folder hierarchy /A/B/C/D) by just one line:
    ResourceFactory.getInstance().getResource("/A/B/C/D", someCtx, true);
    See https://media.sdn.sap.com/html/submitted_docs/nw_kmc/javadoc/com/sapportals/wcm/repository/IResourceFactory.html#getResource(com.sapportals.wcm.util.uri.RID,%20com.sapportals.wcm.repository.IResourceContext,%20boolean)
    Hope it helps

  • Disable creation of proxies. How ?

    Hi,
I want to turn off proxies for Video. I just want to use FCS as stocking server and be able to see the thumbnail of the video and that's it. I have set the proxy Transcode Setting to NONE (not No Conversion) on video and i have unchecked Enable Edit Proxies in the Preferences but i still get proxies generated for video. I just want the JPEG. Is that possible ?
    donnib

Wow, that *****, you can't disable Proxy create? If you don't want proxies, there's no way to turn that feature off with FCServer????
Hey Nicholas, what is typical of an FCServer proxy create, compared to real-time. Does FCServer create proxies at 1/4 real-time, or 6 time real-time? From my experience, Compressor is pretty slow on FCStudio2 installs and I wouldn't expect FCServer to be faster... is it? I know this all depends on the proxy type (codec, size and etc.).
I have experience with Dalet and FORK, both competing products, though more features, and they create a proxy at around 6x real-time for Dalet and I think faster with FORK. What should be expected for FCServer on a single, dedicated XServe (new one, 8core)?
